DarkFoxKit: Soooo… what have we learned?
Andy: Never make a dragon puke rainbows?
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': *Is groaning while lying on a couch* Tooo… much… cuuuute…
DarkFoxKit: Jeez, that was two weeks ago…
Andy: It's going to take even longer to clean all this up…
DarkFoxKit: … Where did your brother go?
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': I think he said… he wanted to explore this castle… and look for ghosts.
DarkFoxKit: Really? Why?
Andy: Eh… that's how he is. I don't think there are any ghosts in the castle, I think that was just an excuse to explore.
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': Heh… *Slowly sits up* Who knows, maybe he's looking for a room to claim as his own.
DarkFoxKit: Didn't he say he was just here on vacation?
Andy: Yeah, but knowing Danny he probably would want to pick out a permanent room in case he had the chance to visit in the future.
DarkFoxKit: Well, alright. Onyx, think you'll be well enough for answering the reviews?
Andy: *Looks down at something in curiosity and bends down to pick it up*
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': Yeah… just so long as nothing else cute is shown to me. *Glances at Andy* Find something?
Andy: Yeah, I think someone left this plushy here. *Holds up a certain, mini nubian goat plushy*
Darkzdragon 'Onyx': *Looks at the plushy and then looks at Andy and Fox* You two… may wanna run.
DarkFoxKit: *Grabs the plushy and smacks Andy's head with it before running*
*The room was filled with rainbows once more*
Chapter 125: Unexpected Help
The holographic Mom was currently floating in front of the pod that held Danny. She seemed to be looking over some transparent holographic screen. From what I could see through the glass, there were things on the screen that had to do with health. I made out what looked like a heartbeat monitor and what looked like some type of ECG, or electrocardiogram, which I remember Mom teaching us about. Though what was on the screen was a bit different from an ECG and seemed to be keeping track of Danny's brain activity as a whole instead of just the electrical signals in his brain.
After a few minutes of me watching, Holo-Mom moved in front of me and looked at me.
"Ahh, you are still awake and seem to be accessing a portion of your ghost powers," Holo-Mom remarked. "This is quite intriguing as the amount of ecto-blockers currently pumping into your body should be nullifying any and all powers you have, including your ghostly vision."
Ecto-blockers? Well, now I know what's stopping me from using my ghost powers. I frowned. Why'd Vlad have to make a hologram of Mom? This is really creepy. Then again, the man is willing to make clones of us, so this really isn't the most disturbing thing he's made.
I tried not to focus on Holo-Mom, because I needed to think to try to get out of here. If what Vlad said was true, there was only so much Hope could do. She was only one little factor he didn't take note of. There had to be something else. There was only a small crack in Vlad's plan, now we just needed to make those cracks bigger for it all to come crumbling down.
"Ahh your mental activity is going up a bit," Holo-Mom noted. "It would be best for you to rest for the upcoming sequence. You will want to have as much strength as possible, otherwise you may end up blacking out prematurely."
"As if I'm going to let myself rest in such a situation," I growled. If only I could talk to Danny. I can't do this alone… but maybe if Danny and I could work together, there might be something we can do.
"Very well, then I shall assist you in resting before the sequence begins," Holo-Mom stated before I felt a warm liquid begin to enter my neck. "Sleep well, young child. When you awaken, you will likely be dealing with an unfortunate amount of pain. However, the pain will stop if you don't fight back and just give my lovely sweetheart what he desires to stabilize his children."
I gasped as I realized I was getting drowsy at an alarming rate. The Holo-Mom must've been pumping in some kind of sedative. I struggled to keep my eyes open, I had to stay awake. But it was like trying to fight to keep the Earth from turning. It was impossible. My eyes soon closed, and my last thought was trying to get Danny to wake up.
I groaned a bit as I forced my eyes open, my entire body feeling stiff. Looking around, I saw only darkness and wondered if my eyes were still closed or if Vlad had turned off the lights in his lab.
However, that thought quickly left my mind as I noticed that I was no longer bound with my wrists above my head. From what I could feel, I was laying on the ground on my side. I brought up my hand in front of me, glad I was free, and realized that I could see as my hand was clear to me.
Forcing myself to sit and properly look around, I noticed there was a table with two chairs inside this dark space I was in. There seemed to be a beam of light shining from nowhere, illuminating the table and chairs somewhat like a cliche interrogation room.
Through the legs of the table and chairs, I spotted something that was a bit far from me. I couldn't quite make out what it was, so I pushed myself to stand and started walking towards whatever it was. As I got closer, I felt my heart flutter, as the something that I had spotted turned out to be someone. And not just anyone, but my twin brother, who seemed to be on his side, asleep.
"Danny?" I questioned. "Wait… where are we…?"
I remembered being in that pod that Vlad had us in. Then Holo-Mom used some kind of sedative to put me to sleep. So this is either a dream, or this is far into the future after everyone is long gone, and Vlad's pod let us out or something, and we ended up here somehow. Oh please let this just be a dream…
But if it was a dream, then I didn't see how that really helped me. That just meant I was stuck here until Vlad woke me up to force me to transform. I wondered if I should try waking up the dream version of Danny just so I wouldn't be alone with my anxiety. I gave a sigh to myself. I might as well bounce ideas off of Danny, even if he wasn't real.
I bent down to Danny, and tried to nudge him awake. "Hey… hey, bro, wake up."
I ended up nudging Danny quite a bit before he finally began to stir.
"Five more minutes… maybe ten…" Danny groaned as he swatted at my hands.
I thought about different ways I could wake his butt up, but I decided to go with the truth and see how he would react. "Both of us have been captured by Vlad, and he's about to digitize our minds and personalities into clone versions of ourselves, where we'll tear apart our family."
"I'll deal with it later…" Danny mumbled as he started drifting back off to sleep.
I then realized there were three words that would wake Danny up no matter what, three words that seemed to always get Danny's attention.
"I NEED HELP!" I shouted.
Suddenly Danny was sitting up and looking around.
"Who needs help, what's going on?!" Danny loudly asked in shock, trying to find the source of the shouting.
"We do," I chuckled, causing Danny to look at me. "We're currently stuck in Vlad's lab, about to have our minds downloaded into clones of ourselves. These clones will then go back to our family and tear them apart so Vlad can swoop in and be their hero."
"Come again…?" Danny blinked.
I motioned for Danny to sit on one of the chairs. "I'll start at the beginning… but this might take a while."
Danny nodded, before he went over to the table and sat down in the chairs. Sitting down across from Danny, I began telling him what happened after Vlad knocked me out, and I woke up in his lab. I told him who Danielle really was, and that Anna, or rather, Andrea was the same as Danielle. I told Danny about the clones, and what Vlad planned to do with us.
Danny looked sad as I finished explaining what was going on. "Really…? Danielle was just tricking me…? Darn it… I thought she actually wanted to help Amity Park."
"I thought so too, but I guess there was a reason why she was being so vague about everything," I sighed. "I… also just can't believe Anna was in on this… she seemed so genuine when I was talking to her…"
"Well… what's the plan then?" Danny questioned. "You said Hope was in the mansion with you and she's possibly still safe. Do you think she contacted our friends?"
"I'm hoping she did," I replied. "But even if our friends come to help us, Vlad said that he had already planned for it. If they come into this lab to save us, there's a very real chance they'll either be captured, kicked out, or it'll be too late and they will find our clones instead. I've been trying to figure out a way for us to escape."
"I mean… the only one would require giving Vlad exactly what he wants," Danny informed. "When he wakes us up and starts trying to force our transformations, we need to transform and immediately escape. I'm pretty sure he never would've planned for us cooperating and forcing the transformation and giving him what he wanted. Meaning that it's unfortunately our best shot of escaping on our own."
I hadn't thought of doing that, the fact that we could cooperate would definitely catch Vlad off guard, however…
"The idea is a good one, but even if Vlad doesn't take that into account, I'm sure the machine would take our mid-morph DNA pretty quickly. And likewise, put us back to sleep before we can do anything. We need to take into account that the machine would do the work for Vlad, rather than Vlad timing everything himself," I pointed out. "It would be dangerous to just go along with it."
"So…" Danny frowned. "What do we do then? Maybe we can… force the machine to somehow misread some information? Or find some way to overload it?"
I thought about what Danny said. I had no idea how much the machine could take if it tried to force us into transforming, but…
"We might be able to overload it," I answered. "If the machine was created to force a halfa into transforming, then I don't imagine Vlad was able to truly test how far the machine could go before it overloaded. If he tested it on Danielle and Ann… Andrea, then it wouldn't give him the right amount of data. According to Danielle, they're incomplete clones, not all that stable after all, there's only so much their bodies could take. It's questionable if they even have real cores. If Vlad tested the machine on himself, then that's one thing, but he hasn't taken into account both of us being forced to transform instead of just one of us."
"So what are you saying, bro?" Danny asked as he crossed his arms, giving me a look of intrigue.
"There's a real possible chance we could overload the machine," I began to explain, hoping that what I was about to say would make sense. "But it's going to take a lot of willpower and resistance from us to make it work. If we resist, then Vlad will have to turn up the power on the morph-forcing machine in order to try and get us to transform. If we continue to resist, he'll keep having to turn it up until we eventually reach the machine's limit. When we reach the limit, that's when it'll be safe for us to transform and get the heck out. As our transformation will push the machine past it's limit and cause the whole thing to overload. When we transform, we are going to need to go intangible as quickly as we can, as there is a… decent chance that there will be an action-movie level explosion."
"At what point will we know the machine has reached its limit?" Danny questioned, frowning a bit as he went over what I said.
"We'll just have to hold out and keep resisting until it seems that Vlad can't turn it up anymore and starts to get infuriated," I guessed. "I'd say when he starts yelling at us and losing his temper is about when we've reached the limit on the machine."
"Great… so it'll be a guessing game…" Danny sighed.
"We don't have a lot of options," I replied. "This is the best we can do. Now if only I can tell the real Danny this…"
Danny furrowed his brows at that. "What do you mean? I am the real Danny. I need to find a way to tell the real Andy this plan."
"Wait, what?" I blinked. "I figured that I was just stuck in some dream talking to a dream version of Danny."
Danny glanced around before shaking his head. "Nope. This definitely seems like a strange dream world, but I am 100% the real me."
"How?" I furrowed my eyebrows. Wait… didn't something like this happen before? "Are you… talking to me in my dream again?"
"Uhhhh… what?" Danny asked, tilting his head a little.
"... Do you think I'm just a dream version of Andy?" I inquired.
"Aren't you?" Danny replied with a question.
"If I was, how could I have told you Vlad's plans when you had no prior knowledge of it?" I pointed out.
"Uhh… maybe you're voicing what my subconscious has been gathering…?" Danny attempted to explain, giving a small shrug.
"Well, I guess we'll know for sure if you're real and I'm real when we wake up, and both of us start to resist Vlad's machine," I remarked. But if he is the real Danny, then how did he get into my dream again? Is it a ghost power? Maybe that ecto-blocker doesn't quite reach our minds? "Until then… let's hope that Hope and the others will be able to get here without getting caught."
"Heh… hope for Hope." Danny snickered a bit.
"... Yeah, I'm pretty sure you're the real Danny," I sighed.
"Oh?" Danny raised a brow. "How does making that joke confirm that I'm the real me?"
"Because I hate making jokes," I replied.
"Only when we're in a serious situation like the one we're in," Danny replied. "Honestly, I do hope that she's fine and that we'll get free. But I guess we'll just have to wait and see what happens. In the meantime… wanna arm wrestle or thumb war?"
I deadpanned. "No."
"Aww, why not?" Danny whined.
"Because you'd beat me," I grumbled.
"Not necessarily," Danny replied. "I could use my other arm… and you can use both arms if you wanted."
This is going to be a long 10 to 25 minutes… I sighed to myself.
Hope's Point of View
(Andy: So you want me to write what you were doing?)
(Hope: I can't exactly write this myself as I don't have fingers, so yeah.)
(Andy: Alright, fine, just don't talk too fast.)
I didn't know this was going to happen when I agreed to go with Andy to comfort the boy when he came to this large house. I thought he was just being his paranoid self, but it looked like he was right about this being a trap. Now I was trying to navigate through this giant maze of a house, while trying not to get caught. Without being able to actually use my own, as Andy called it, 'ghost powers' I couldn't go invisible, or fly, or go intangible. I was as helpless as the lost teddy bear that I was.
I was keeping the little device close to my chest while moving around, trying to move from furniture to furniture. Whenever I spotted someone coming my way, which was more often than I would've liked, I hid either behind the furniture I was near or underneath. The people who were passing by me were wearing one of two outfits that seemed to be based upon their gender, as the females wore dresses while the males wore suits.
I really had no idea where I was going, and this place seemed more like a maze than a house. Honestly I was on the verge of a panic attack, being so overwhelmed by the pressure that was being put on me. Thankfully, in a sense, the constant people walking by kept me from having a panic attack.
As I moved past doors, I tried to push on them to see if they would open. I had done this with… so many doors that I actually lost count. I felt like at the slow rate I was going, I was bound to fail Andy and Juliette.
I rounded another corner, entering another hallway that seemed nearly identical to all the others I had been in. The only thing that told me I wasn't going in circles was the fact that I hadn't seen the same picture twice or the same piece of furniture in the same position more than once.
However, as I moved down the hallway I was in, I noticed something which made me a bit worried. In this hallway, there were large gaps between the furniture, and not all the furniture would be easy to hide behind or under.
As I got close to a tall table with not much else underneath it, I froze. I heard footsteps thudding towards me at a rapid pace. I glanced up and inwardly yelled in annoyance when I saw there was no way I could jump up and stick to the underside of the table. Hearing the steps getting closer, I gulped, at least in my imagination, and pushed myself up against the wall as much as I could, hoping to lower the chance that anyone would see me.
I could hear the footsteps getting closer, and louder. I wished, at that very moment, that I could go invisible right now. I could only hope that whoever was heading this way wouldn't notice me. But just in case they did, I tried to make it seem like I was slumped against the wall. I could only hope whoever saw me would just see a toy, and then leave.
It didn't take long for the person with those loud footsteps to come into my view. I saw it was a teenage girl, who was… Anna, the girl who was sitting and chatting with Andy before that monster ghost Vlad came in. Anna looked pretty angry about something, despite the trap she set for Andy being sprung, and had worked.
I saw she was looking around and realized she would see me if I was just standing up. I inwardly debated if I wanted to take that risk or if it would be better to act like a toy. After not a lot of thought, I moved my legs forward a bit and went limp, hoping that I would remain propped up against the wall instead of falling forward and possibly gaining Anna's attention.
"I still can't believe them… they should've given me a little more time! Why were they in such a hurry anyways?" Anna grumbled. "Andy sounded genuine when he was looking for what kind of future goals he could've had. He didn't sound like he was interested in taking over Amity Park or the world or enslaving the human race…"
Anna turned around suddenly, looking like she was about to go back the way she came, but then she stopped when she noticed me. I would be sweating right now if I could, but all I could do was stay as still as possible, and hope she wouldn't check my paws for the little device.
Crud crud crud… I thought as Anna kneeled down and reached under the table to pick me up. This is definitely one of the few times I regret taking that witch up on her offer of a new life…
"I've never seen a toy like you here before," Anna noted in curiosity as she studied me. "Did Ella buy a new toy or something? But she never had any interest in teddy bears or plushy toys before… I guess I'll have to ask her later. No sense in leaving you here."
Cruuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuud! I inwardly groaned. What do I do? I guess… I should hope that wherever this girl takes me I can potentially find a way to escape or perhaps open a window for Juliette and the group to get in through.
I stayed as still as the toy that I was while Anna held onto me, and walked down the long hallway. I tried to memorize where we were going so I knew how to get away later, but with this giant house, it was difficult to remember everything.
Anna went up some stairs, and walked into another long hallway, before she came up to a door. She opened the door, and walked inside, still carrying me. I could hear her grumbling a bit to herself the entire way. She wasn't happy that Vlad knocked Andy out and took him the way he did. From what I could understand, Anna thought Andy was… evil, I think. I mean, I didn't have the greatest first impression with the boy, but I knew he was anything but evil.
I was surprised to see how large Anna's bedroom was. This was much bigger than the boys' room. However, that wasn't what was truly surprising. At the walls and on the tall ceiling were what looked like windows that somehow were looking out into the ocean, as if this room was underwater. There was marine life swimming outside those windows; sharks, fish, whales, dolphins, and way way more. I was confused as to how this room was underwater. How are we underwater!?
After I finally got past the whole underwater thing, I noticed that the room was different from traditional rooms I'd seen. Instead of having a bed at the center of the room, the bed was on an upstairs platform in the far corner. There was a large window above it that looked out into the ocean and large windows on either side. Below the platform was a sitting area with a bookshelf and a couple of plushies. Nearer to the door was a table, a couch, a desk with a computer, a chair at the computer, and some other assortment of furniture.
In different parts of the room I noticed there were potted plants. Against one of the far walls, where there wasn't a floor to ceiling window, was a massive TV with a huge bean bag chair in front of it. And against one of the other corners of the room was what surprisingly looked like a small pool that seemed like it might lead outside.
"Welp, until I talk to Ella… or I guess I should start calling her Danielle since the whole plan has been blown out of the water…" Anna mumbled before shaking her head. "Until I talk to her, this will be your new home. I hope you and my plushies will get along."
I was put on the giant bean bag chair, next to a teddy bear shaped cushion. Anna let out a sigh as she began to pace around the room. However, since she was talking to herself, I decided this was a good opportunity to turn on the device in my paws, to let Juliette hear what Anna was saying.
"Perhaps I could talk to Father… perhaps get one final chance to turn Andy good. I don't want all my hard work to have gone to waste, and I don't want him to get replaced…" Anna muttered aloud.
While Anna was busy pacing and muttering to herself, I whispered into the device. "Um… Juliette…? Are you still there?"
There was silence for a little bit. I brought the device up closer to my head, just in case she was speaking softly.
"Yes, I'm here," Juliette's voice softly came through. "We're making our final preparations and should be heading towards you in the next few minutes."
"That girl… Anna is talking to herself, she seems pretty mad," Hope whispered. "Can you hear her?"
"No, I can't hear any other voice," Juliette answered.
I frowned. I guess this device can only hear things if the speaker thing is up close… that's not helpful! "Well, I'm currently in her room, acting as a toy. She's saying that she was trying to 'turn Andy good', and Vlad acted too soon by knocking him out."
"That's… confusing," Juliette remarked. "The only reason she might think that she needed to 'turn Andy good' is if she were under the false impressions that he wasn't good. So perhaps… that Vlad person is lying to her and has been for some time?"
"I don't know. I'm just telling you what she's saying," I replied. "Don't those other kids you're with know Vlad more than we do? Ask them."
"They say that he is fairly manipulative, and I wasn't asking you directly. I was mainly thinking aloud," Juliette explained. "From what everyone is saying, if this Anna girl is under the assumption that Andy could be turned good, then it's possible that she thinks she was doing the right thing. It… might be a bit of a gamble, but you may be able to convince her that Andy is good and Vlad is the one who is evil."
"What? I can't do that…!" I whisper-shouted. "I'll have to reveal I'm a living teddy bear, and she might turn me to Vlad or something!"
"I know, Hope, and I wouldn't have suggested it if I didn't think you could succeed," Juliette replied. "This is a risky mission, I know, but we're talking about Andy's safety here. We will need to take some risks to help him."
I felt myself shaking a little, thankfully not enough to be noticed by Anna, but I was definitely scared. "I… I don't know… if I can do this… what if she won't listen to me?"
"You can do this, Hope. If she doesn't listen to you, keep talking to her until she does listen," Juliette assured. "You're way stronger than you think, even as a teddy bear."
I was still feeling doubtful and quite terrified.
"I know this is scary for you, Hope, but sometimes we have to do terrifying things to help the people we care about. And I have a feeling that Andy's become one of those people to you. Am I right?" Juliette softly said. "If you were the one captured, I know he, and Danny who is likely currently captured as well, would do whatever they could in order to rescue you, no matter the risk."
Danny's here too? I frowned.
I mentally took a deep breath. "Okay… I will try… I can't guarantee I'll be able to convince Anna that her father is the one who's evil, and not Andy, but… I'll do my best."
"The main goal you should aim for is that Andy's always been good," Juliette informed. "Telling her about Vlad being evil is a secondary goal."
"O-okay…" I replied nervously.
I looked up at Anna to see her sighing to herself. She had stopped pacing around, but she definitely looked tired and frustrated. I looked down at the device in my paws. I should probably hide this…
"I won't be able to answer back for a while," I warned Juliette. "And if I don't answer back by the time you get here… you… might be your own…"
"Don't worry about me, Hope. You just worry about yourself and what you can do," Juliette soothingly said. "I know you've got this."
"Yeah… thanks, and… good luck to your group too," I replied softly before I put the earphone thing under the bear cushion.
With the device hidden, I mentally prepared myself. Okay… this is it… this better not screw me over. You owe me so much play time and love for this, Andy! And… a whole bunch of new accessories.
"Anna?" I, somehow, managed to speak up. "Or should I say Andrea?"
Andrea stopped pacing and began to look around. "Is… someone there? Danielle, is that- no, I don't sense her nearby…"
"I'm the teddy bear you brought in," I explained, somehow keeping my voice calm.
To get her attention, I stood up from the bean bag, and hopped down. Andrea stared at me in shock.
I tried not to make things more awkward than they already were and introduced myself. "I am Hope, that is my… well, my character's name, but I've adopted the name as my own."
Andrea continued staring, blinking a few times. "A… living teddy bear… Father never prepared me for something like this…"
"Well… technically I'm a ghost, living inside a teddy bear," I explained, hoping that this would make her a little more comfortable around me. "Except I'm not just overshadowing a teddy bear, I've literally become the teddy bear. I can't use any ghost powers. I've been sewed into it on a level that… I honestly can distinguish where my body ends and the stitching and fluff begins."
"So… an unliving teddy bear…" Andrea corrected. "Still doesn't change the fact that I'm not really sure how to react here…"
I tried to think of what I should say, and decided the best way to go about it was being as honest as possible, and hope Andrea would believe me.
"I'm actually… Andy's teddy bear. He brought me in his backpack when he came here this evening, because he was nervous. Having me around made him a little more comfortable. But I was also brought here as a just-in-case because a part of Andy was scared to come into Vlad's really big home," I confessed. "When your father came in and took Andy, I panicked and stayed hidden until I was sure that you were gone. After that, I started wandering around, trying to find the exit."
"Why was Andy scared of coming here?" Andrea questioned. "Did he think I was up to something else?"
"He wasn't sure what you were going to do, and he didn't exactly trust Vlad," I admitted. "But it kinda looked like he was right not to be so trusting. What exactly did you plan to do when Andy came here tonight?"
"Well I was hoping to convince him to put his trust in me so I could start turning him towards the side of good that my Father so valiantly fights for," Andrea explained. "He brought us down here from Wisconsin just so we could be closer to the threat that the Fenton family presents to the world, and the threat that Danny Phantom and Andy Phantom pose."
"The threat that is Danny Phantom and Andy Phantom? And the threat the Fenton family presents to the world?" I repeated. "So I can understand this better, what exactly did Vlad tell you about Andy and Danny and their Fenton family?" I'm going to need the full details before I can try to convince her that Andy isn't evil.
"Father told me about how dangerous Danny and Andy Phantom are. He gave me and my sister all the information we needed about their powers, their human identities, and their intentions," Andrea explained.
"And… what were their intentions according to your dad?" I asked.
"That they're tricksters, with malicious intentions for the world and scheming minds to help them play the people they are 'saving'," Andrea answered. "They hide their true selves behind a friendly smile, but they're slowly taking over the town, or finding ways to manipulate people into trusting them so they wouldn't know that they're doing something evil. They overshadow people to change that person's memory, or trick others into helping them with whatever it is they're planning. Father has been diligently trying to stop them, but he often ended up putting himself in danger whenever he tried. Not only were Danny and Andy a danger to Father, but the people who supported him also could prove hazardous. Like Tucker, Sam, their own ghostly allies, and even their own parents. The Fentons were the ones who created them after all."
I was flabbergasted by the sheer amount of nonsense she was spouting about Danny and Andy. I had been around the boys long enough to know if they truly had any malicious intentions. They would cry if they so much as hurt a blob. I should know, Andy was actually depressed about the fact the blob he saved not that long ago ended up getting eaten by other ghosts.
"You've met and talked to Andy for the past few weeks, right?" I pointed out. "Did he really seem like the malicious, scheming type?"
"To a large degree, yes," Andrea answered. "He keeps quite a bit of himself closed off and often has a bit of paranoia about him. He is extremely logical, and that would fit the profile of someone who would scheme to get whatever it is they desired. Additionally, due to their ghostly nature, which Father says they don't have control over, they are more prone to being controlled by their instincts."
Okay, maybe those are technically true… and a bad example. I sweatdropped. "Well, okay, maybe Andy is smarter and more cautious for his own good, but did he really seem evil? Like, did you get a sense he was out to take advantage of you or those around him?"
"No, I didn't, but that very well could've been due to him only showing me what he wanted to," Andrea reasoned. "If he is as intelligent as I believe, it would be quite easy for him to hold back his true self and show others whatever he wanted them to believe in. He seemed genuinely willing to at least talk about doing good for Amity Park, but again, I may have just been playing into his hands."
"If he was planning anything with you, it was to make sure you weren't planning anything with him. He really wanted to hope and believe that you were genuine, and truly were his friend," I explained. "The only reason he brought me was because he was nervous. He didn't have any grand master plan. I think maybe you might share some of those traits of paranoia with him, especially if you thought everything he did was for some kind of plan. Andy can make plans, but he surprisingly doesn't, not often anyways. He doesn't see himself as smart, at least not smarter than the average person. And all he wants is to protect the city and his loved ones. He has no interest in taking over or manipulating people… the latter is more for when he has no choice."
"That doesn't make sense though!" Andrea loudly said before she grumbled. "Either you're telling the truth and my Father has been lying to my sister and I since we first awoke, or my Father has been telling the truth and you, a talking teddy bear, are just a pawn of Andy's, trying to convince me that there's some good in him."
"If you don't know who to believe, then think back for yourself. When you spoke with Andy, try to ignore all pretenses of Andy. Think back to how he acted to you and those around him," I suggested.
"The more logical option would be that you are just trying to trick me," Andrea pointed out before sighing. "Though I will admit that a part of me does feel that Father's words may not have been entirely truthful. After all, the way he came in and grabbed Andy was not at all like the kind, gentle man he normally seems to be."
"And your sister didn't spend any real time with Andy or Danny, so she wouldn't know of their true personality," I added. "But you have. You said you wanted them to 'turn good', right? And if it was working with Andy, why would Vlad stop you? Do you think Vlad is being honest? If you have a single bit of doubt, maybe you should confirm for yourself who's telling you the truth, and who's deceiving you to get what they want. Personally I know that Andy is good. I'm not asking you to believe me, I'm asking you to follow your instincts and find out what the truth is on your own."
"Very well…" Andrea remarked before looking at me. "But while I do so, I want you to stay here. I will be back after I've looked around and found whatever information I need to find. If you are telling the truth, then perhaps I will be convinced enough to help out. If you're wrong… well I might just keep you as you are quite a cute plushy~"
Andrea picked me up and put me back on the armchair with the teddy bear cushion.
"Don't go anywhere," Andrea instructed as she summoned a horizontal ring of light around her waist.
It was the first time I've seen Andrea transform into her ghost form. As the light split itself to get across her body, her clothes turned into a dark blue and white hazmat suit. Although, unlike with Andy's hazmat suit, her suit was a two piece. She had a top part of the suit that covered her chest and arms, she also had a pair of gloves on her hands, all of which were dark blue and white. The bottom half of the suit covered her waist and legs and was a swirl of dark blue and white in color, which ended with white boots. Like with Andy, and Danny, her hair turned as white as snow, and her eyes were purple.
"Man, I really need to use this form more…" Andrea softly groaned as she stretched out.
"I hope you find the truth, Andrea," I said.
"So do I," Andrea replied back before she turned herself intangible, and flew through the floor, leaving me alone in the room.
I took the device out from under the cushion and spoke into it. "I've convinced Andrea to look for the truth to see if I was lying, or if Vlad was. But I can't guarantee she'll be on our side."
"Then we'll just need to wait and hope she will see the truth," Juliette answered. "Right now I think she may be our best bet in getting inside without any issues."
"I'm sorry I couldn't do more," I apologized. "Maybe I should've said something else to convince her that I was telling the truth… or if I could use my ghost powers, I could get you guys inside myself..."
"No, don't apologize. You did quite well with the skills you have available to you," Juliette assured. "Being who she is, there's no way you would've been able to convince her any more than you already have. As for the last, you likely would set off whatever security systems they have there if you did so."
I felt I had done all I could at this point. All I could do now was wait. "Good luck, guys…"
Although, even if we lose, I would get this home. It was definitely lovely, and Andrea seemed like she would love and take care of me… And yet, despite what I could gain if Vlad won, I couldn't help but get this feeling of heavy metal in my stomach, even though I technically didn't have a stomach. I doubted I would enjoy myself if something were to happen to Andy and Danny. You really got me attached, Andy. How dare you… You better not disappear on me.
mysteryfan4ever: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': *Is covered in rainbow glitter* That's because Andy feels that everyone has a chance at redemption and he hopes that he can facilitate said redemption.
DarkFoxKit: Despite knowing Vlad is going too far and crossing a line, Andy still wants Vlad to listen to his humanity before that line is crossed, before he goes to that point of no return. Andy is more scared for Vlad then he is of Vlad.
naminexriku2468: DarkFoxKit: Hmmm… do you think Danielle and Andrea are evil?
kairixsora13579: Darkzdragon 'Onyx': Well yes and no. They aren't the same age as the sample of Danny's DNA is much older, meaning that it was from when he was younger. The sample of Andy is much newer, therefore closer to his age. There's a couple year gap between the two girls. So Andrea would be taller than Danielle. But everything else would be accurate.
Mana16: DarkFoxKit: Yeah, Sam will be Sam. XD I think in Kindred Spirits, it was implied Vlad was going to kill Danny once he got the clone he wanted, though it was never confirmed what he was actually going to do to Danny. We came up with a more logical explanation to what Vlad was going to do once he got their mid morph DNA sample. He couldn't just let them go, but I doubt he wanted to kill them either.
I think Vlad was plenty surprise, but they couldn't show it because Vlad, just before Danny used the Ghostly Wail. was in pure rage mode after his perfect clone son was destroyed. But Vlad definitely had no defense for the Ghostly Wail as we saw, though he was able to take it, and Danny was severely weakened after using it, so it's quite the double edge sword.
Vlad mentioning about Jack's family being ghost hunters for generations was because of John Fenton Nightingale, if John was a ghost hunter back then, then that meant the Fentons had indeed been ghost hunters for generations. Andy even mentioned this when he was talking to Danny about being the first Fenton to not destroy a ghost back in My Brother's a Ghost, though that story has been a long time, so I don't blame you for not remembering that. As for if the ghost hunting thing started with John… eh, I can't really say, but he's likely an early line of it.
leragon33: DarkFoxKit: I'm not sure if you'll see this by the time you get here, but I figured I would answer your review anyways. Dustin is… well… I'm sure you'll see when you get there if you haven't already. I'd go into more detail about Dustin and Andy, but I won't, the story should speak for itself.
