Hey guys! Here's part 2 of Madison's main storyline - it answers a lot of questions about her, and I'm super excited for you guys to see it! Enjoy!

Chapter 32:
I Feel No Fear
"Then Harry's thoughts wandered back to his mother and father…
He felt drained and strangely empty, even though he was so full of chocolate. Terrible though it was to hear his parents' last moments replayed inside his head, these were the only times Harry had heard their voices since he was a very small child. But he'd never be able to produce a proper Patronus if he half wanted to hear his parents again…"
"How did they know?" Zoë said in a hushed voice.
"Maybe they're a Legilimens," Ava said.
"What's a Legilimens?" Draco asked.
"Shut up," Stella said.
Madison didn't move. She just stared at the house, her heart even more stopped than usual.
"How do we see inside?" Beatrix asked.
Madison finally turned. "We can sneak up to the window, but we can't let them see us."
"I got it," Stella said. "A Disillusionment Charm."
"Sounds good," Madison whispered. She drew her wand and waved it over the whole group. Almost instantly, they turned invisible.
"Whoa," Draco's voice could be heard, in quiet awe.
"Let's go!" Mackenzie said, starting her trek up the walkway to the house. The group followed silently.
They arrived at the window. "Madison should be on top," Jonah said.
"She got me into this - I wanna see," Stella said.
"I'm a pureblood," Draco said. "Shouldn't I be on top?"
"So help me God, I will turn this group around," Stella said, with the tone of an exasperated parental figure whose patience was running thin.
Madison wasn't paying attention to them. Her focus was firmly on the room in front of her, just a panel of glass away.
Inside, Madison could see a roaring fireplace and a brightly decorated tree - they must've landed around Christmastime. She watched as a young man - no older than 30 - walked into the room, holding something lovingly in his arms. He turned around, and Madison caught the glimpse of a little baby, wrapped in a unicorn blanket. She was crying, but the second she looked out the window, she stopped. Mesmerized by something.
Madison was thankful she was invisible, because if anyone else could see her, they would've seen a small tear drip down her cheek.
A woman walked in after him, with wavy auburn hair that reached just past her shoulders. "How did you do that?" Madison could hear her say.
"I don't know," the man said. "She hasn't stopped crying for two days."
"I know, John," the woman said. "I live here. I've heard her."
She turned to the baby. "Our little Madison has some lungs, doesn't she?"
Madison could hear a small gasp from Draco. "Oh my -"
"For the last time, just shut up already!" Stella said, a bit too loud than she should have.
The couple turned to the window. "Is there someone out there?" the man - John said.
"I don't know," the woman said. "Let's find out, shall we?"
"Audrey Clark, you're always dragging me into trouble," John said. "At least keep the baby inside."
"Fine," Audrey said, placing baby Madison in her crib. "Let's check."
She and John drew their wands and walked to the door.
"They're going to find us!" Ava whimpered.
"Ava, we're invisible," Beatrix said.
"Oh, right," Ava responded, a little sheepish.
The door opened, and Madison's head jolted like a bolt of lightning as John and Audrey walked out the door.
They stood there for a moment, John closing the door behind them. "Hello?" Audrey said. "Is anyone there?"
There was no answer - except for a small green spark at the end of the Clarks' driveway.
Madison's eyes widened. Suddenly, she realized what day they had arrived. She had always thought it was a car crash. But she was living in the world of Harry Potter. Her parents were wizards - happy wizards - of course it wasn't a car crash.
Suddenly, the green spark grew bigger, into a fire that split into two. The fire formed into two people, with wands drawn.
"Alecto, Amycus," John said. "What are you doing here?"
"The Dark is coming back," the woman on the left said - Alecto. "It is your time to decide which side to be on."
"What are you talking about?" Audrey said. "Your precious Voldemort died years ago."
"Ah, but it's not Voldemort of whom we speak," the person on the right said - Amycus, Madison assumed. "I can't believe you, Audrey. A Slytherin - and of such a prestigious bloodline? You're a Parseltongue and a relative of the Heir of Slytherin himself; it isn't like you to marry a Gryffindor."
Audrey looked at her husband with a proud, defiant smile. "He's more of a wizard than you'll ever be."
The two people looked like they were about to gasp. "Well, that's no matter," Alecto said. "It's not you we're after. Your daughter is very important to our master's plan - and she will not be disobeyed."
"You're taking our daughter over our dead bodies," John said.
Amycus cocked his head. "Alright," he said with a cruel smile. "We're flexible."
They raised their wands. Madison quickly turned her head as she heard the cries of "Avada Kedavra" and felt the green light shine over her. She didn't dare look again.
Before she could tell her friends to head home, she felt a sudden pain in her stomach. It wasn't like the pain she got when they were time-travelling - it was sharp, heavy. She looked at her friends and realized that for the first time since they had arrived, she could see them.
"Madison!" Zoë said. "Your hand…"
Madison looked at her right hand, which looked fine. She checked her left - and her fingers were starting to disappear into glowing flakes.
"It's Back to the Future," Jonah said. "They're about to kill you."
"What?" Madison said.
Mackenzie peered past Madison. "They're heading into the house - someone has to stop them."
"But there's no one else here," Madison said, panicking. "No one except -"
She stopped, a sudden idea coming to her.
"This is the Patronus thing, isn't it?" she said.
Beatrix smiled. "Go get 'em."
A determined look in her eyes, Madison nodded. "Sublimate Spiritus," she whispered.
As the gas formed around her, Madison floated through the window and into the house - her house. "Deposio Spiritus," she said, landing on the floor like an action hero.
Suddenly, the door opened. The Carrows burst through, wands at the ready - and then they stopped.
"Who are you?" Alecto asked.
"The person who's gonna stop you," Madison responded.
"You don't scare us," Amycus said, raising his wand. "Avada Kedavra."
The green light bounced off Madison's chest, barely missing the Carrows. "You see -" she said. "I can't die. Because I've already done it once, and I have no plans to do it again."
She ran over to the crib and grabbed the baby - herself - with as much of her hands as she had left. The Carrows were getting closer.
Come on, whoever you are, she thought. I'm too much of a value to you for you to let these idiots kill me now. Same for the rest of them - why else would you have brought me here? Save me and them before you ruin everything you've worked for…
And all of a sudden, it started to rain. Outside and inside. A different kind of pain came over Madison. She looked at her hand and realized it was starting to reform. She closed her eyes -
And they were together, on a sidewalk in a small-looking town. A car drove by with a New York license plate.
Stella looked up. "I think we made it."
Madison turned to see a sign for an orphanage. Her orphanage.
"Now it's Meet the Robinsons," Jonah said. "This is the best worst trip ever."
Madison gave a small smile. "Someone else has to do this," she said. "I look too much like a ghost."
"I'll do it," Stella said. "Hufflepuff buds forever."
Madison carefully gave herself to Stella, who walked up the stairs to the door. There was a small cardboard box next to it, and Stella lay little Madison in the box.
"Any last words?" she said, turning to the older Madison.
Madison looked in the box. "You're safe now," she said. "You won't know who I am until many years from now. But know this - there will always be people who care for you. You will always care for them in return. And don't be afraid of doing whatever it takes to keep them safe - even if it means risking everything."
A crystalline tear fell into the box.
"I love you," Madison said, straightening up and giving herself a little wave. The baby smiled.
Madison turned to Stella and nodded. "It's time."
Stella nodded and held her hand up to the door. She knocked three times, as hard as she could.
"Let's go," she said, and the group cleared into a nearby alleyway. Madison followed them - but then she peeked her head out, just in time to see a beautiful woman with curly black hair and dark skin open the door.
"Oh, you poor thing!" she said, seeing the box. "You can come with me."
She looked at the baby for a name and found a little tag hanging from her underwear.
"Madison Clark," the woman said. "Welcome to the world."
Madison smiled, another tear falling. She felt a tap on her shoulder - and it was Jonah. He held out his arms, and she fell into them, a hug to last a lifetime.
The rest of the group slowly joined - even Draco, who still had no idea what was going on. As they hugged and cried softly together, they could feel it happening again - and suddenly, they were back in the bathroom.
Madison took the necklace and started to turn it in the other direction. "Hold on, everybody," she said somberly.
Finally, they were back where they began. Fred was crouched next to Molly on the bathroom floor, in the exact same position where they had been before.
"How do you undo a Stupefy?" Ava asked.
"Let me try," Draco said, pointing his wand at Molly. "Rennervate!"
Almost immediately, Molly's eyes opened. Groggy, she pushed herself into a sitting position and looked at the group. Draco held out his hand, and Molly took it.
"Sorry," he said.
"Don't worry about it," she said. "Just - never do that again."
"Got it," he said with a small laugh.
"So how did it go?" Fred asked, a sigh of relief in his voice.
"Basically, the gist was that Madison was born to a very nice couple, named John and Audrey, in America, same time as the others, and they were a Gryffindor and a Slytherin but they were still together, and the Carrows came, on orders from whoever's sending us to and from Hogwarts, and they killed the parents, and Madison saved herself and brought herself to the orphanage where she had lived before she got the letter," Stella said, in one big breath.
"Well, that sounds exhausting," Molly said. "Both physically and emotionally."
Madison nodded, her eyes serious yet satisfied. "But it was nice," she said. "To see them. If only for a bit. And I learned that whoever is sending us here, we're valuable enough for them not to kill us."
"Most of us, anyway," Fred said, in a tone that was only half-joking. "Well, I'm heading back to the common room. I'm just hearing this out loud and I think I need some sleep."
"That sounds good to me," Zoë said.
Fred and Draco helped Molly off the ground, and the group left the bathroom. A few seconds later, Draco came back in - "I'll take that," he said as Madison gave him the Time-Turner. She giggled as he left the room.
She heard Opa up in the rafters of the bathroom, still scared. "Opa, it's fine," she said. "You can come back down now."
Opa soared down and landed in her normal sleeping spot.
Madison curled up next to her - even though she technically didn't need sleep, it was nice once in a while. "Don't worry, Opa," she said, a satisfied smile crossing her face. "Everything will be alright."
As she went to put her head down, she noticed something around her neck - something she had never noticed before. A necklace, with a crystalline teardrop hanging from it. She searched her brain for an explanation, which suddenly rushed into her mind, as though it had been behind a door that had just been unlocked for the first time.
And she fell asleep, happier than she could remember.
Thanks for reading! Here are this chapter's behind-the-magic fun facts:
1) The title is another musical theatre reference - it's a line from a song from Matilda, fittingly called "My House."
2) I love Stella's "So help me God" line - she almost seems like the group's strict mom, which is an image I find hilarious.
3) I just listened to the musical adaptation of Beetlejuice today, and for some reason, rereading this chapter, I'm totally picturing John and Audrey Clark as the Maitlands. I wanted to paint a clear picture of these two people as brave, intelligent, kind, loving people, so that it still felt like a sting when they died, even though we all knew it was coming.
4) After the showdown at Ravenclaw Tower, there never is really closure on what happens to the Carrows. Whoever's bringing our heroes back in time, I thought the Carrows would be some of the first to join their side. And there's another hint within their wording...Also, I will tell you that NEXT CHAPTER we get the reveal! So send in your PMs before it's too late!
5) The Carrows' pre-mortem one-liner is directly stolen from Enchanted, which should be on Disney Plus.
6) This chapter hints at a connection between Molly and Draco that will be in later chapters, as well as strengthens the friendship between Molly and Fred. I love imagining how different characters would interact with the time-travellers.
7) When I first wrote this chapter, as I mentioned last time, Fred wasn't in it - and then I knew I wanted to add in the "Most of us, anyway" line, so I went back and put him into chapter 31. I also went a little quicker from the return to Hogwarts to the end of the chapter, and the little crystalline teardrop detail wasn't in the chapter. When I showed it to Madison's inspiration, she wanted her character to have a bit more reaction to what had just happened - so I added some edits.
Thanks again for reading! Next chapter is a biggie - it's the last one in the "Prisoner of Azkaban" part of the story, and as I mentioned before, the time-travellers will finally learn who's sending them back and forth to Hogwarts! So stay tuned, and I can't wait to see you soon!
Feel free to review, but please no negative reviews or cursing. (And please, NOTHING POLITICAL!) Thanks!
