(Welp I lost my wattpad account thanks to their password change for the new year. They won't help me get it back so I'm gonna have to reupload my stories to a new account. Also for this chapter the song is an original, I hope you all enjoy.)
The song writing had been going well so far, 3 songs all lined up with his feelings on his brother. Jesse had been quite helpful to, they sat on the couch watching a random movie they had put on but neither was paying attention to it. Jaden was lying long ways with his legs resting on the bluenette's lap.
"So that's how you got those highlights" Jesse chuckled.
"That's the last time I ever make a bet with Tyranno" The brunette pouted.
"I think you looked good with the purple."
"Well thanks." Jaden tossed up a piece of popcorn and caught it in his mouth.
"So are you ready for the next topic for your songs?"
The brunette hummed to himself "well I've been trying but it's not as easy to do."
"I didn't think it would be" Jesse chuckled "Just try taking it bit by bit."
Jaden just nodded still trying to wrap his brain around it, his next problem was Mamoru. Falling for your dead twin brother's fiancé was a bit harder to put in a song. Jesse saw the concentrated frustration twisted on the boy's face and felt a bit of pity. He didn't want the brunette to start getting stressed out because that would make everything harder. Tapping the others legs he snapped Jaden from his thoughts. Jaden moved his legs off the bluenette and watched him walk away. He waited in confusion for his new friend to come back, pleasantly surprised when Jesse came back with a game station.
The bluenette turned off the movie they were watching and started hooking up the station. Jaden hadn't really had the time to play video games in a while so he started getting excited.
"I don't have many games but I have this really fun fighting game you might like." Jesse tossed him a controller.
A grin graced the brunettes face "oh you're going down jess."
The blunette laughed as he started up the game, it took a bit for Jaden to get used to the controls but once he did he gave Jesse a run for his money. The bluenette was honestly impressed with how quickly he picked it up. Jaden was lost in the game humming a few tunes and winning almost every round. When he wins he playfully pushes Jesse's shoulder with his own and sticks out his tongue. Jesse's face flushed pink as he chuckled and would swear to beat him in the next round.
They played for a good four hours before the blunette heard the others stomach growl. Jaden's face flushed and Jesse pulled out his phone looking for a place to deliver. They settled on a Chinese restaurant nearby and turned off the game. They flipped through TV channels trying to agree on what to watch, they settled on an old popular anime about a children's card game. Their food arrived and both practically wolfed it down, it was nice to see Jesse had the same big appetite he did. His parents would often tease him how much he ate and how often he ate. Jaden was always super active so he was never worried about gaining weight so he never gave much thought to how much he ate.
"I'm gonna head to my room" Jaden stretched his arms up. "I wanna take another crack at that song."
"If you need anything just call" Jesse watched the brunette walk away feeling a little lonely when he was gone.
Closing the door the brunette picked up his guitar and sat on the bed. He grabbed a recorder to make it easier, he never was good at writing down his songs when he had them. It was too hard to constantly stop and write down what he came up with. As he strummed his guitar he messed with a few lines trying to find ones that sounded right. Finding a good tune he liked he easily just started singing whatever he wanted.
'Too fast for me to grab it'
'Enraptured by a warm heart'
'I've tainted the kindness you've shown me.'
'And now all I know is heartbreak'
The word's started flowing together as his eyes slid closed, his hands strumming away. He felt like he took advantage of the weakness Mamoru was feeling.
'Oh how the fates can be so cruel~'
'And oh how perfectly I play the fool'
'I never saw the truth in front of my eyes'
'I felt so blind.'
'Forgive my mind'
'Forgive this selfish heart!'
His brow furrowed; he really did feel dumb about everything. He never meant to mess with some one as nice as Mamoru. The blonde was different from a lot of the people he would usually date, then again that was probably more his fault.
'I'd only let in those who would use me'
'Blinded by fake love, they'd fool me'
'You let me in and that was a mistake'
'I promise from now on I'll make a change'
He wanted to be better, not just for Mamoru and himself but to respect the twin he lost. Haou deserved a better brother than he was being, this was his time to mature and change for the better.
'Oh how the fates can be so cruel~'
'And oh how perfectly I play the fool'
'I never saw the truth in front of my eyes'
'I felt so blind.'
'Forgive my mind'
'Forgive this selfish heart!'
As he sang some of the stress he had been feeling started to slip from his shoulders. A smile started to form on his face as he sang.
'For you I'll change'
'For me I'll change'
'For him I'll change!'
'So forgive this selfish heart~'
Jaden stopped the recording feeling proud of what he wrote, hoping off the bed he had the need to share it with someone. The first person to pop into his head was Jesse, he didn't even question it. He swung the bedroom door open only to see the said male tumble in. The blunette caught his footing and stood back up with a sheepish smile. The brunette's head tilted sideways as looked at the other questioningly.
"What were you doing by the door?"
"I..uh….heard the guitar strumming and wanted to listen in on the progress" Jesse felt so embarrassed at that moment. His cheeks flushed bright red as he noticed the other trying not to laugh.
"So how mush did you hear?"
"Pretty much the whole thing"
"Well, what did you think?" Jaden felt his stomach twist up. He hasn't felt this nervous since his debut concert. Why did Jesse opinion matter so much? Or maybe it was because it was so personal unlike his other songs.
"I liked it, but Jay you know you don't have to beat yourself up for the situation."
The brunette shook his head "it's part of my growth and I have you to thank for helping me through it."
"O-oh?" he didn't think his face could get any redder at that point.
"Don't worry when the album comes out you'll get a special dedication" The brunette gave a small wink and chuckled.
Jesse was on overload and just playfully punched his arm "Hey I found a good movie to watch, want to join?"
"Sure I finished the song so I deserve a break" The brunette tucked his guitar against the wall.
He followed the other into the living room and plopped down on the couch with him. The movie was some Romcom that he was only paying half attention to, instead his eyes were drawn to his friend's face. The small smile that graced his face, he especially liked the color of Jesse's eyes. They reminded him of precious emeralds. The brunette couldn't help but smile every time the other laughed at a scene in the movie, it was a pretty sound.
Jaden turned his attention back to the movie and he didn't know when but he must have fallen asleep during. He felt fingertips brushing against his cheek moving his hair back behind his ear. It felt nice, his eyes fluttered open and he let out a small yawn. Taking in his surroundings he realized he was resting on Jesse's lap. His cheeks flushed slightly and he turned his head a bit to meet the eyes of his friends. The blunette smiled at him sheepishly and pulled his hand away from his hair. Jaden would be lying if he didn't say he missed the friendly touch.
"Did I wake you?"
"It's fine, is the movie over?" Jaden stayed on the other's lap wondering how long he could get away with it.
"Yea it had a cliché ending, I pretty much predicted it from the first five minutes" the blunette sighed.
"Ya know I was offered a part in a movie recently" Jaden waggled his eyebrows with a smirk on his lips "I guess I can add movie star to my list."
"Can you even act?"
"That's a fantastic question" The brunette froze for a few seconds "I guess we will find out."
Jesse laugh at the nonchalant attitude the other had, the brunette just grinned up at the other. He hadn't really given the movie much thought but maybe if Jesse liked the idea he would.
"What was it even about?"
"If I remember correctly my character was supposed to be a superhot bad boy that only had a soft spot for a girl."
Jesse tried not to laugh "let me guess he started to change for a girl he just ran into that day."
"Yup, right on the nose."
"She is pure, plain and innocent and the bad boy can't understand the emotions he is feeling and drama ensues."
"Your good at this, it's like you read the script." Jaden had to admit the slight amusement.
"I'm gonna guess she get's kidnapped, he has to save her then he promises to play by the rules for the rest of his life."
"….ok now your scaring me" Jaden sat up and just looked at him surprised.
"It's the usual way those stories play out" Jesse shrugged; he watched a lot of romance movies. They were a guilty pleasure for him "it's a cliché that people love, are you gonna do it?"
"I don't know yet, they offered it to me a couple months ago" Jaden sighed "I feel bad making them wait."
"I think it would be cool"
"maybe I'll accept it then."
