Disclaimer: I don't own Kingdom Hearts.

A/N: This is something I actually wrote a couple months ago, but never got around to posting. Axel and Roxas, short, simple, sweet. Some spoilers (mainly dialogue based though.)

Slam. Axel felt his body slam into the wall, for a person of such small stature, he was surprised that the young blonde had so much strength.

"Get out of my way, Axel."

"Don't leave." He was groping for words; he couldn't let this boy leave, not when there was still so much left unsaid.

"No one would miss me." The sandy-haired boy walked to the door, his black robe flowing behind him.

"That's not true." The redhead spoke softly. When the younger boy didn't answer, he pressed on. "I would. Don't leave, Roxas. Don't go."

Roxas lingered a moment in the doorway, "Don't lie to me, Axel, we haven't known each other long enough for you to miss me."

"I thought you knew by now that I wouldn't lie about things like this, I guess we really don't know each other that well then. I never thought that you... that you would leave me." They fell silent, Roxas not answering his so-called friends' pleas. After a minute or so had passed in silence, Roxas broke the silence with creaking caused by the opening of the front door. "You're really going to leave?" Axel's voice cracked on the last word, and a tear rolled down his cheek. Roxas's slight figure stiffened as Axel's voice changed, but his head still managed to dip in a stiff nod. A moment passed before he spoke again. "Take me with you."

Roxas spun around, shock evident on his face. "What!" Axel remained silent, not willing to request again. The blonde's face hardened. "No." He watched as his crimson-haired young man in black robes crumpled to the ground, tears pouring down his cheeks, and his heart weakened. The door slammed shut at the blonde's heels, nearly catching the end of his robe. A sobbing howl slipped through Axel's lips at the slam of the door—his worst fear was realized, Roxas had left.

"Don't cry." Axel glanced up, shock evident on his face as he saw the familiar form of Roxas crouching in front of him.

"You didn't leave." Axel whispered, the tears still pouring shamelessly down his cheeks.

Roxas pulled his older friend into a gentle embrace. "You didn't lie." He ran his fingers through his friend's hair. "Don't cry, Axel, I know you're stronger than that."

Axel couldn't have stopped the tears, even if he tried. "You're the only person who's ever made me feel like this." He closed his eyes and leaned against his friend's warm and comforting body.

"I can't stay forever, Axel, I have to leave."

"I know, all I want is a little longer. Just a little bit longer."
