Hi everyone, here is another chapter of Lara and Kurtis enjoy.

Please note FF readers. Just in this one-shot, Kurtis is a few years older than Lara.

Thank you.

Lara was working in the nine belle's, only twenty-one, and working for her funds, this is when she first saw the stranger who had walked in many times before and tonight was just one of those days. She had fallen in love with his blue eyes and his kind smile but she sensed danger around him that she kind of liked. He sat at the bar and ordered the usual.

"One beer coming up." She said and handed him his ice-cold beer. He smirked at her, as his messy hair fell between his eyes that were staring into her soul.

"Thanks." He answered, "So tell me how's your day?" He asked like always as he sipped his beer.

She hated this because he only drank one beer and left so the question she always tried to ask never came out. She had learned his name for sure, Kurtis and he had told her that his work requires a lot of traveling.

She liked the idea of meeting someone with such an adventure like herself and just like him, she who was going to find Yamatai in a few months would have her taste of traveling. She just was still doubting herself. She didn't want to end up like her father and she wanted to clear her family's name from the shame her father had brought upon his death.

"As always, busy. Yours?" She was glad today was a quiet day.

"Same old." He said sipping his beer, "Look, you should fight for what you want."

Lara looked shocked at him as he said that.

Why in the world would he say something like that.

She heard him speak again as he stood up to leave the empty bottle on the counter.

"I like a girl who fights for what she wants." He said smirking and he left.

Lara looked after him as he left out the door.

Did he read my mind?

She headed out of the pub and around the counter and tried to follow him but he was gone, like the wind.

Where did he go

She sighed and went back to work. His words repeated in her head, the way he said and the way he always just disappears. This made Lara just more curious about the world around her.
