Christmas was coming to an end and after the eventful year that the students in the hero course had, this day had brought some much needed levity.

Midoriya thought that the party went great, the gift exchange went well for everyone and receiving an offer to do a work-study with Endeavor was unbelievable.

The addition of Eri showing up was a pleasant surprise and it seemed as if this day couldn't get any better.

But there was one more surprise in store for Midoriya and Uraraka.

"Hey, Deku, I just overheard you guys talking." Uraraka said.

Midoriya began to sweat and nervously blush.

"She's so close." Midoriya thought.

"A work-study with Endeavor, that sounds amazing." Uraraka said, with enthusiasm.

"Yeah, it sure is." Midoriya said.

Midoriya awkwardly looked around, desperately trying to get his composure so he could have a normal conversation and actually make eye contact with her.

"Why do I feel so nervous all of a sudden?" Midoriya wondered.

"It's not like I can't talk to her, but every once in awhile it feels so overwhelming to be around her." Midoriya thought.

His attention finally landed on the All Might keychain she had gotten in the gift exchange.

Uraraka noticed this and smiled.

"I'm guessing that this was meant for you, did you want it?" Uraraka asked.

"No, of course not." Midoriya said.

"Well then, I'm glad, I wanted to keep it close, it reminds me of you." Uraraka said.

"What?" Midoriya asked, in surprise.

"It just reminds me of how heroic you can be." Uraraka said, playfully.

Midoriya simply nodded, not sure on how to even respond to that.

"So nice!" Midoriya thought.

"Well, thank you Uraraka, though, I know that you like mochi so I wouldn't mind sharing my gift with you." Midoriya told her.

"I could never turn that down!" Uraraka exclaimed, with a smile.

Midoriya smiled, ready to get the mochi he had received earlier before he was interrupted by someone clearing their throat in order to get their attention.

Midoriya turned and saw Kaminari smirking at him.

"Kaminari, what's going on?" Midoriya asked.

Kaminari just held back his laughter and pointed up.

Midoriya was confused for a moment but got the gist of it a few seconds later.

Midoriya slowly looked up and his eyes widened as he instantly knew what Kaminari had wanted him to see.

Before the party had been set up, Mineta had been placing mistletoe all throughout the dorm building, hoping he would be lucky enough to be under it with one of the girls.

To everyone's appreciation, Iida had ordered him to stop and help them take down each and every one of them he had put up.

Evidently, they had missed one and now it was hanging right over him and Uraraka.

"Deku, what's wrong?" Uraraka asked.

Uraraka had a similar reaction as he did as she looked up and saw what was above them.

"Oh." Uraraka said, in surprise.

"I'll leave you two alone." Kaminari said, as he walked away.

"So… we don't have to do this if you don't want to, no one else is here so we can just move away from it and act like it never happened." Midoriya offered her.

Uraraka considered her choices, thinking as hard about it as she could.

"Do I want to?" Uraraka asked herself.

She admired him more than anyone, but did it go beyond that?

"Well, one kiss wouldn't be so bad, it is tradition after all." Uraraka thought.

"No, it's alright, we shouldn't break tradition." Uraraka said.

"That is unless that you don't want to, I don't want to make you uncomfortable." Uraraka said.

"No, I'll be alright, it's just that… I've never kissed anyone before, I don't even know how to do it properly." Midoriya told her.

Uraraka couldn't help but to smile at his awkwardness.

"It's alright, neither have I." Uraraka said.

"Please don't let me mess this up." Midoriya thought.

Midoriya carefully and slowly leaned in, preparing for Uraraka's lips to meet his.

His eyes were closed and for a moment, he felt nothing.

His heart was rapidly pounding, waiting for the moment and to his surprise, as he finally felt her kiss him, he calmed down.

He was worried that as soon as it happened he would either pass out or start crying a river of tears again, but right now, he was astounded to find himself at peace.

Uraraka was feeling something similar, not wanting to let go of this feeling.

The kiss went on for what seemed like forever, with neither one of them moving away, until eventually, they needed to breath.

As they slowly parted, they opened their eyes, looking at each other, longingly.

Midoriya placed his hand on the side of her face, wanting to lean in again and feel that sense of peace once more.

However, he didn't and instead, he slowly backed away.

"Well, it's getting late, I should go get some sleep." Midoriya said, as he stood there looking at the floor.

"Yeah, I should to." Uraraka said.

The two of them walked by each other, not even daring to look back.

Later that night, the two of them had stayed awake, with Uraraka laying awake in her bed while Midoriya was looking out at the night sky while standing on his balcony.

Midoriya slowly breathed in, taking in the cold air, before a small smile crept onto his face.

His heart had started to beat fast again, only this time, he wasn't worried.

"Goodnight, Uraraka." Midoriya whispered.

Meanwhile, Uraraka looked over at the keychain she had placed on the small table next to her bed.

She smiled as her eyes started to shut and she turned out the light.

"Goodnight, Deku." Uraraka said.

Happy Holidays, from me to you.
