Thanksgiving Surprise-Ch 12
The next morning was busy as the girls along with Jack and Henry had a quick breakfast of fresh chocolate chip and banana nut muffins with the bride-to-be before they would start getting the bride ready for her big day. After the girls were finished eating Fran took some muffins and coffee out to the pool house for the men so they wouldn't be tempted to come into the house before they had a chance to get Penelope ready.
Derek looked up when he saw his mom walking through the door, he said, "morning ma", she hugged her son and kissed him on the cheek and said, "morning to you baby boy, how are you today?", he said, "a little nervous, how's baby girl?", Fran said, "she's good, we just got finished with a little breakfast" as she handed him the platter of muffins.
He smiled and said, "thanks momma", Fran said, "no problem honey", Dave walked over and wrapped his arms around his wife and said, "how's the bride this morning, is she as nervous as your son?", Fran grinned and said, "wellllllll, to tell ya the truth her nerves are starting to kick in but don't worry JJ, Em, Sarah, Desi and I are on it".
Fran then looked at her son and said, "don't worry we'll take good care of your girl for you", as Fran turned around to walk out of the room she met Reid and Hotch who smiled and said, "good morning" in unison as she walked by them. She said, "good morning", she then turned to say, "please take care of my son, something tells me he's gonna need it", both men looked over at an obviously nervous groom and nodded their heads yes in agreement to Fran before she exited the pool house.
Meanwhile inside the mansion JJ and Emily had just gotten Henry and Jack ready and they were currently being led to the pool house by Sarah and Desi so that they could spend some time with their fathers before the ceremony started. Penelope was currently pacing back and forth in her bedroom, her nerves were really kicking in now, she blew out a deep breath and said, "calm down girlie just calm down, this is your wedding day, the day you've dreamed of since you were a little girl so just take it easyyyyy".
She was pulled from her thoughts as JJ and Emily walked into the room, JJ said, "let's get you ready, okay Garcie?", Penelope nodded her head yes as she walked over to her two friends so they could start the process of getting her ready. A little while later Sarah, Desi and Fran walked into the room and saw that the girls were just finishing with Penelope, Fran said, "ohhhh honey you look so beautiful, my son isn't going to be able to keep his eyes or anything else off of you today".
Sarah said, "you look amazing Penelope", Desi said, "you look like a princess", Penelope said, "thanks guys but", Fran said, "but, nooooo, no buts, no buts this morning young lady" causing Penelope to smile. JJ said, "what's wrong Garcie, don't you want to marry Derek?", she said, "ohhhh I want to, I've been in love with him for so long that I can't remember a time that I wasn't in love with him".
Fran said, "and he feels the same way about you", Penelope said, "he does?", Fran said, "it was obvious to anybody that looked at the boy", Emily said, "it was obvious to everybody but them apparently Fran". Sarah and Desi nodded their heads and Desi said, "my brother has alwayssssss been in love with you Penelope and I do mean alwaysssss and nothing or nobody is ever gonna change that", it was then that Penelope blew out a deep breath and said, "thank you everybody, I needed to hear that".
At the pool house Dave glanced down at his watch and said, "I better head over to the house and get the bride, you five better head to the backyard" as he started across the room he stopped and turned around and said, "the minister will be here any time now", Reid said, "we're on it Rossi", Dave grinned and said, "thanks kid" before turning around and walking out of the pool house.
Inside the mansion Fran said, "well Penelope, Dave should be here any time to get you, are you sure that you're ready?", she said, "ohhh I'm ready, I'm soooooo ready" causing the women to all laugh. They were pulled from their conversation when they heard a knock at the door, Fran walked over and opened the door and smiled at her husband and said, "come in, come in" as she stepped back so that he could walk into the room.
Dave said, "well don't you ladies all look beautiful this afternoon", Fran said, "thank you kind sir and might I say that you clean up nicely yourself" as she straightened up his tie a little before kissing him on the cheek. Dave then looked at the bride-to-be and said, "ohhhh kitten you look amazing", she said, "thanks papa bear" as she hugged him and kissed him on the cheek, Dave then said, "are you about ready to get married?", she said, "I'm ready when everybody else is".
Sarah said, "did the minster arrive yet?", Dave nodded his head and said, "he had just arrived as I walked across the yard, so right now he's outside with the others waiting on the ceremony to begin". Sarah, Desi and Fran all hugged Penelope and Fran said, "we'll see you out there honey", Penelope said, "thanks so much for everything you've done for me, for us", Fran said, "you don't have to thank us honey, we're family and family always helps family".
Penelope then watched as the trio of Morgan woman walked out of the room, followed a few seconds later by JJ and Emily who told Penelope they would meet her outside in the backyard. Dave then held out his arm to the nervous bride and said, "shall we kitten?", she looped her arm through his and said, "we shall papa bear, we shall" as they walked arm-in-arm out of the room so they could head outside to join the others to get the wedding of the year started.
