Thanksgiving Surprise-Ch 13
Fran smiled at her son, he took a deep breath and then smiled back just as the music started, the family turned to watch first Emily and then JJ as they walked up the flower petal path that led to the others. Then the music changed to the Bridal March and everybody turned to watch Dave and Penelope as they too made their way up that same flower petal path that led Penelope to the love of her life, her Derek.
As he watched her getting closer and closer his heart was thumping so hard that he was afraid that it would jump from his chest and fly away, he took a few deep breaths as he tried to calm down a little. Penelope tightened her arm around Dave's as they continued their slow walk getting her closer and closer to the life she had only dreamed of, a life with Derek, her Derek.
When Dave and Penelope stopped beside Derek everybody watched as Dave kissed Penelope on the cheek and said, "you look beautiful kitten", she smiled at him and said, "thank you papa bear". Dave then took Penelope's hand and gently placed it in Derek's and said, "take good care of her", Derek nodded his head and said, "always and forever", Dave then smiled and nodded his head before walking over to join the others.
The bride and groom then turned to face the minister who smiled at them, he then motioned for the people in the audience to sit, after they were all seated he looked down at Derek and Penelope as he continued the ceremony. Derek intertwined fingers with Penelope and smiled lovingly at her for a second before turning his attention back to the minister who was now saying a prayer for their marriage, he was wishing them a life filled with love, hope, peace and joy.
Fran wiped the tears away that were streaming down her face, she was so happy for Derek and Penelope and she just wished that Hank had lived long enough to see their son get married to the woman he loved. She was pulled out of her thoughts as the minister asked for the rings, it was then that JJ and Reid stepped forward and handed him the rings, he then said another prayer over the rings and then looked down at Derek.
The minister then said, "Derek, take this ring and then recite your vows to Penelope", Derek took the ring and blew out a deep breath as he slowly slid the ring onto her finger, he then smiled at her as he readied to recite his vows. Everybody listened as he said, "I love you baby girl, I always have and I always will, you are my lifeline, you are my life, my love and the other part of my heart and today you become my wife".
Penelope reached up with her free hand and wiped away the tears that were streaming down her cheek, Derek then said, "I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you, loving you and being loved by you and I vow to you hear in front of God and our witnesses that I will love honor and cherish you forever"
The minister then turned to face Penelope and said, "Penelope, take this ring and put it onto Derek's finger and then recite your vows to him", she nervously took the ring into her hand and slowly slid it onto his finger. She then smiled and said, "Derek, hotstuff, you are the love of my life and I can't imagine my life without you in it, you are my guiding light, you are always there to love me, hold me and help me".
Derek smiled at her as she said, "you are an amazing man Derek Michael Morgan and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you and see what life has in store for us and I have no problem vowing here in front of everybody that I will love you more and more each day for as long as we live", they both then looked up at the minister as they waited for the ceremony to continue.
Derek intertwined fingers with Penelope as the minister said, "if their is anyone here that can show just cause why these two can't be lawfully joined, let them speak now or forever hold their peace". After a few seconds the minister said, "by the powers vested in me by this state, I now pronounce you husband and wife", the family smiled and looked on as the minister said, "Derek you may now kiss your bride".
He didn't need to be told twice as he cupped her face in his hands, he then leaned in and pressed his lips against hers in a sweet, loving and ohhhh so passionate kiss to seal their lives together as husband and wife. They pulled apart to the minister saying, "it gives me great pleasure to introduce to you for the first time Mr. and Mrs. Derek Morgan", the air was then filled with the sounds of hands clapping and shouts of congratulations, Derek the pulled her back into his arms and said, "I love you" as he claimed her lips with his again.
