Thanksgiving Surprise-Ch 17
Over the next several months the team stayed busy chasing unsubs all across the country, it seemed to be case after case and Penelope wasn't getting to see her husband or her family for more than a day before they would head off on another case. She would do her part to help the team but even working all of those hours didn't keep her from missing her loving husband and family but she still tried.
Penelope was now a little over 7 months pregnant and loving her pregnancy, when she would get home in the evening she would pull out her laptop and buy stuff for the baby and for the nursery. When Derek and the other men of the team were actually home they would spend their free time helping Derek with the nursery, as Penelope sat rubbing her growing bump she smiled and said, "easy there little one, don't kick momma so hard okay", she was pulled from her talk by feeling a set of lips on her neck.
She grinned and closed her eyes and said, "we have to be careful because my husband could be here any time and he is a very very jealous and possessive man", Derek chuckled and said, "you got that shot right woman, you are mine and only mine for now and forever and don't you ever forget it".
Penelope looked at him and said, "never my vision, never", Derek walked over and sat down on the couch beside her and put his hand on her stomach and said, "so how are you and the little one doing today?", she smiled lovingly and said, "well he or she is kicking my kidneys around like crazy today, sooooo can you please talk to your child".
Derek put head down to her stomach and said, "listen in there little one, be good to your mommy okay, can you ease up a little on the kicking for a little while?", he then kissed her stomach and said, "daddy and mommy both love you sooooooo much and we can't wait to meet you in a few months", Penelope winced in pain and Derek looked up at her and said, "are you alright sweetness?", she said, "yes angel fish I'm just fineeeeeee" and she winced again in pain as she grabbed her stomach.
Derek raised up and said, "gorgeous, you're scaring me right now", she touched his cheek and said, "I think that you need to get me to the hospital and fast", he stood up and said, "why, what's wrong?" as he held his hand out to her. She slipped her hand in his and as she stood up she gasped in surprise as warm bloody liquid went all over the floor and puddled at her feet, Derek said, "sweetness, did?" and before he could finish the sentence she said, "yes, my water just broke".
Penelope intertwined fingers with her husband as he led her toward the door, he stopped at the closet and grabbed her bag and then smiled and said, "we'll call the team on the way", she nodded her head yes as they headed out the door and straight to the truck. He helped her up into the truck and then quickly ran around to the other side of the truck and climbed behind the wheel, he started the car and put it in gear and raced away from the curb, he needed to get his wife to the hospital and the sooner the better so that they could bring the newest member of their family into the world.
