Getting up at his normal wake up period, Lincoln checked his phone to see he got no missed calls or notifications so far as he began to drag himself to the kitchen and proceeded to eat his overnight soup and grilled cheese without heating it up.
After enjoying an hour to himself, he got a text from Lily letting him know that she and Lola were picking him up to go to this small family reunion they were having at their parents.
Not feeling he needs to dress to impress, he walked down his apartment stairs in his pajama bottoms and sweater as Lola drove up to him.
"Lincoln, you know that Lori is gonna be miffed seeing you like this, right" asked Lily as she was choosing to divert Lola's disproving nod over her brothers conscious choice of wardrobe.
"It's fine, I'm gonna be indoors this whole afternoon and evening" said Lincoln, "You do remember she's bring her kids and Bobby" said Lola as she began to pinch her temple.
"Like I said, everything is gonna be fine" said Lincoln as he hopped in the passenger seat as they drove back to the Loud house they all grew up in, which was the same, less you count the stacks of balls and Frisbee's that was stuck on the roof, and the large sinkhole just a few feet from the house.
"Home sweet home" said Lily as she was the first to get out before her siblings followed her inside.
Just as they arrived towards the front door, Lincoln already heard a bit of a commotion from the other side of the door as he let out a heavy sigh.
It's fine Lincoln, you can handle a one time visit like this, thought Lincoln as he was greeted by the sight of Lisa sitting next to a young 7 year old Mexican kid as they 2 were battling each other with remote controlled robots.
"Oh, ah, oh no" jeered Lisa as she was getting her ass kicked pretty bad against the kid, "Sorry tia, but this is where you lose" said the boy as he performed a beautiful brutal finisher.
"My controller is broken" argued Lisa, "You designed it yourself" said the boy as he poked the biggest hole in his aunts defeat.
"Oh Lincoln, you finally came to join us" said Lisa as Lori came out the dining room carrying a small tyke of a girl as she held a riding crop in her hand and a pout on her face.
"Lincoln, you finally made it. Kids, Bobby, come here to greet uncle Lincoln" said Lori as she went up to hug her brother.
"Lincoln, it's good to see you bro" greeted Bobby as he gained a bit of a pot belly over the years as he wore overalls over his white t-shirt and green jacket over, he had a full beard, and a mullet at this point too.
"Bobby, so good to see you too, also this is super late, but congrats on the baby" said Lincoln as he handed him one of 2 authentic Cuban Cigars he had purchased a while back that he was saving for any special occasion.
"Thanks bro, anyways come and meet our kids so far, this is our son Roberto 'Bobby' Jr., and our daughter Beatrice" said Bobby as he now formally introduce the kids to their long estranged uncle.
"Hey buddy" Lincoln greeted as Bobby Jr. didn't shy away from the man as Beatrice continued to mean mug her uncle.
"Hi tio, want to play battle robots with me, tia Lisa is not giving me a challenge" said Bobby Jr., "Hey, I heard that you ankle biting whipper snapper" scolded Lisa.
"Um, sure thing buddy" said Lincoln as he sat on the couch and tagged Lisa out where the 2 would just play between themselves.
Granted while Lincoln was fair, he would not let his own nephew get the best of him as he managed to win with a score of 1 point every time.
"Come on kid, I thought you were good at this" said Lincoln teasingly, "I am good, just watch me" said Bobby Jr. as they had a friendly competition going on.
"Look at that, Lincoln being a proper uncle" said Lori happily as she knew her brother would definitely make a good dad someday.
"He sure is babe, I mean look, he's finally got Beatrice to take interest in him, and she paid everyone, but us, no care or mind upon the first 100 visits" said Bobby as they saw the 3 year old walked her way towards her uncle and started smacking his leg with her riding crop.
"Oh, hello there" greeted Lincoln as he looked down to see his niece giving him her signature silent pout.
"Hey Betty, you came to distract tio so I can kick his butt" said Bobby Jr. as he won this round thanks to his sisters distraction.
Lifting up the tyke to his lap, Lincoln was ready to pay attention to her, but she chose instead to continue to pout and turn her head away.
"Hey kid, any tips as to how I can get this rugrat to trust me" asked Lincoln, "What do you mean, she came to get your attention tio, so really you got her in the palm of her hands" said Bobby Jr.
"Than why does she have the look of a grumpy princess that was told no" asked Lincoln, "Betty always had a silly angry face since she was born, but I know she wants you to pay attention to her" said Bobby Jr. as he poked his sisters stomach resulting her swinging her riding crop like crazy.
"Also why does she got a riding crop in her hands in the first place" asked Lincoln as he nearly avoid getting smacked in the face.
"I don't know entirely, I just remembered about a few months before she turned 2 she came walking out of mom and dad's bedroom with that in her hands and she's since refused to part with it" said Bobby Jr..
"You said she found it in your parents bedroom one day" Lincoln said just loud enough for all his siblings, including Lori and Bobby to hear it as they all turned their heads towards the blushing couple.
"Gee Lori, I never knew" said Lily with a teasingly smug smile on her face, "My money is that Bobby is the M in the relationship if memories of our sadistic sister have anything to run by" said Lisa as both parents continued to blush a deeper shade of red.
"All I got to say is you 2 are rather kinky and that there's no shame in it" said Lola as she's speaking from experience.
"Dad, is dinner ready!" shouted Lori as she just wanted to get out of this, "In another 30 minutes" said Lynn Sr.
"Hahaha, I'm starting to like you kids more by the second" said Lincoln as he proceeded to poke his nieces cheek, which bothered her, but she allowed it since she finally got this stranger to pay attention to her.
They went about hanging out and talking towards each other individually before it was time for the family to gather up and share dinner together.
"So Lisa, how's life treating you now that you finally came out of your shell" asked Lori as she recalled Lisa taking on her bombshell disguise for a few years now, up until her date with Lincoln.
"Good, actually I've just secured myself a date with one of my students back in California" said Lisa, "Now is this student your dating older or younger" asked Lincoln jokingly.
"He's a year and a half older than me, but he's eager to learn from me as not only his college professor, but also as a woman" said Lisa, "Good for you sweetie, maybe we can all plan a trip to California someday" said Rita.
"It be more easier and convenient for me to bring him here, besides California is slowly showing signs of imperialistic isolation, even those from other states from within our own country, less you count the state of Nevada" said Lisa.
"Now that sounds like the state of California is trying to succeed from the United State, which is crazy right" said Lincoln, "Actually this has been heavily debated in the works for the last 2 years now" pointed out Lola.
"Wait what" asked Lincoln as this surprised him, "Yeah it's been a hot topic on the news to this day, didn't you know" asked Lori.
"No I didn't know this" said Lincoln, "Seriously, you don't know about this, what about how 3 years back the city of New York was put into quarantine for a year after a bad outbreak of the black plague" asked Lisa.
"No I didn't know that" said Lincoln, "Are you aware that congress officially past a nation wide law that every summer, states alongside the south to the southwest are now forced to spend their summers without any form or power or electricity" asked Lola.
"No, no I don't know any of this stuff or whatever is the next thing you guys can think of" said Lincoln as all of this was news to him.
"Son, how can you not be aware of any of this, you do watch the news, even if it's on your phone right" asked Lynn Sr., "Yeah, but news about the next gaming consoles, movies, cartoons, or anime, none of this social political crap that everyone in the world likes to divulge in" said Lincoln.
Hearing this really showed how much of a sheltered life Lincoln had been living, as he's chosen to live a life free from worry, concern, and stress, something that was nearly impossible as even the privileged few is expose to the modern day crisis and events of todays society.
"Lincoln, I know I have no right to tell you how to live your life, but maybe it's time for you to maybe pick up the news paper every once in a while in your life" said Rita.
"Nah, I'm good mom, besides after hearing all of this is stressful enough, so excuse me for wanting to live a stress free life" said Lincoln as everyone groaned about Lincoln choosing to cruise his life with no worries for the rest of his days, as this was a paradox topic since everyone wishes that, but at a certain point in our lives we realize that without stress be it from conflicts, disagreements, or impossible obstacles it leaves us with a sense of emptiness, with no drive, and that causes stress in itself in some weird way.
"Well, moving on, I've decided to take this years touring tournament on hold to join in the upcoming Ace Savvy movie" said Lori, "Me too, I've got some years of vacation days to submit and I think this couldn't come at a more appropriate time" said Lisa.
"I broke it to Clyde that I'd be joining on set shortly after he announced his desire to cast us all a day later" said Lily, "I told him I'd be willing to join once I've taken my BAR exam, whether I pass or not" said Lola.
"What about you Lincoln, you plan on joining Clyde and your sisters for this project" asked Bobby, "Wait, tio Lincoln is going to be in the new Ace Savvy Movie" asked Bobby Jr. as he looked at his uncle with more awe and amazement then he already had before.
"I don't think so kid" said Lincoln sheepishly to his nephew, "But why, is it because they want you to play the bad guy or something" asked Bobby Jr.
"Quite the opposite dear nephew, if anything he'd be more than slated to play as Ace Savvy himself if he were to bored the project with us" said Lisa as this really blew her nephews mind.
"Tio, please you got to play as Ace Savvy, cause that'll be the coolest thing in the world if you could" Bobby Jr. as he was bouncing in his seat in excitement that he secretly had such a cool uncle this whole time.
"I can't because uh…" said Lincoln trying to think of an excuse to tell his nephew without entirely disappointing him.
"Cause I promised to take my girlfriend out to tour all of Asia together" said Lincoln as that was the first thing to come to his mind.
"Oh you have a girlfriend now do you huh, mind telling us a little bit about her" asked Lori smugly as Lincoln realized he just shot himself in the foot.
"Sure, her name is Gabby, she works at a videogame store, and I plan to use this trip to propose to her after dating her for many, many years" said Lincoln.
"Care to tell us a little more about her, like what she looks like, what she likes, and how she feels about meeting the family, especially towards your little niece or nephew" asked Lola as she and Lisa decided to join in on this.
"Of course, she's a tall willowy brunette, with a nice set of ahem, and she likes to spend her days outside of work just chilling back at my pad, watching TV and baking me cookies" said Lincoln.
"Your girlfriend like to make you cookies" Bobby Jr. asked excitingly as he liked to meet the nice cookie lady who was dating his really cool uncle.
"Yes she does, and she doesn't complain about me about having to shave, having to eat properly, or having to change into regular everyday pants like everyone else" said Lincoln as this got his sisters to raise a brow over how absurd it was their brother would date a girl like that, and even then if it were possible they'd find suspicious she'd be fine with him not bathing, or changing his socks like that since no sane person would have such low standards without their being an ulterior motive.
"Sounds to us you found a catch dear brother, now how about calling her up, or better yet why not invite her over next weekend" asked Lisa, "She can't cause she's working right now and next weekend" said Lincoln.
"Well I think we've interrogated him with everything there is to ask about what's her name again" said Lily as she finally chose to end it since they all had their fun tormenting Lincoln.
From there on, it was a peaceful dinner, where they hung around for another 2 hours before it was time for everyone to go home.
"Come on kids, say goodbye to your uncle Lincoln" said Lori as Bobby Jr. ran up to hug his uncle, "See you later buddy" said Lincoln, "See you next time tio" said Bobby Jr. as he finally let go of him as Beatrice raised her arms up before her uncle.
"I guess I'll see later too" said Lincoln as he lifted his niece up ready to kiss her goodbye, but Beatrice was having none of it when she used her crop to push her uncle away.
"Uncle Lincoln has a cactus face" stated Beatrice as this really shocked Lincoln, "Don't take it to heart Lincoln, she doesn't let Bobby kiss her good night either when he has a beard" said Lori, "It's true" said Bobby teary eyed before they said their goodbyes at long last.
"Want me to give you a ride back home Lincoln" asked Lola, "Yeah, that be nice" said Lincoln as he began to say goodbye to his family that evening.
"No worries son, you don't have to feel pressured in getting yourself a girlfriend any time soon now, I'm sure you'll find someone out their someday" said Lynn Sr., "Thanks for the words of confidence dad" said Lincoln.
"Right, girls I believe you owe your brother an apology" said Rita, "You're right, Lincoln we apologize for our behavior of trying to tease over dinner when you were trying to tell a white lie to our rascal of a nephew" said Lisa, "Yeah, sorry about that Lincoln" said Lola.
"And I'm sorry for not stopping them sooner" said Lily, "Apology accepted" said Lincoln as he honestly found tonight to be enjoyable.
On his way home, he asked Lola to stop by a convenient store where he got himself some needed supplies for what he was about to do.
Upon getting home, he took a nice long hot shower, and with the things he bought, he proceeded to shave off his entire beard.
Maybe it's because of what his niece said, maybe because it was time for him to make a conscious effort to maintain his appearance, who knows, other than him wanting to make this conscious decision of wanting to change the same look he had for the last few months.
Once he was done, he got wiped the steam off his mirror and admired himself as he had a really sharp chin as he felt it.
Hey there good looking, haven't seen you in a while, thought Lincoln as he grabbed some after shave and gently lathered his hands with it, before touching his face with both hands, resulting in him screaming in pain.
While this was going on, the rest of the Loud sisters talked about last night and shared the photos that were taken, leaving the lot envious and yet even more eager for their dates, meaning Lily had stayed up a little longer help setting up the next sibling date, which won't be for a few days.
Alright everyone, here's the next chapter, sorry for the delay, but if you're from Reno, you know how shitty the air quality is since the damn wild fire smoke is being blown in from SoCal, which I'm more than certain is my punishment for leaving home.
Foot note to that, I plan to take my grandparents boat with me back to California when the time comes so that when sundowner season comes, I'll be cruising it out in sea until the end of October.
Otherwise, I finally secured myself a job here, so that's one less thing for me to stress about as there's still a lot of things I got to do, which I won't concern you guys with.
So until next time, be safe, be good people, and please support your local fandom communities.
