It's been months since it all happened. The Outbreak of Coronavirus. The Lockdowns. The Isolation. And to add insult to injury, mental health issues were rising among adults during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Theaters were on the verge of being buried in the past with the rise of Streaming, prompting many others to fear losing their future in the entertainment industry.
And racial injustice was at an all time high after police brutality sparked a nation wide protest led by the activist group known as Black Lives Matter, most of the protests were peaceful, some of them were riots and looting. Some got the message to make the effort to try to put an end to police brutality, others did meaningless actions that would hurt themselves, such as white voice actors stepping down from non-white roles, disclaimers put on older movies on streaming media in case it's problematic. Many feared this was the beginning of censorship, but some viewed it as just a silly little warning. But one thing can be agreed on once the NFL began to permit players to protest during the national anthem, it was nothing but White Guilt.
There was only one thing Americans had to do to change the future for better or worse, and that was to vote. And vote wisely, and the country did as Biden dethroned Trump as the American President.
Unfortunately, the wait had to come until The Presidential Inauguration.
Even when Biden won the election, to some, it felt empty. Normally, the thought of Trump losing, even to a 3rd party candidate, would be nice, this one didn't feel like anything. Probably because trillions of humans were losing hope by the second, divided, isolated and depressed.
One boy had a reason why he felt empty.
Even if Biden won, it would take years to fix the damage this country suffered. Maybe an entire decade even. And it wouldn't be easy. Especially when there are others who don't trust Biden.
Before the pandemic worsened, the boy tried to make the effort to bring everything back to normal, working day in and day out to work on a cure for COVID-19, but comes up empty handed every time. The boy knew that science had a limit, but he kept trying to push himself past the limit. In addition, he kept an ear on the News Updates, but unfortunately, it did little to help him at all.
The more he heard terrible things on the news, the more obsessed he became to trying to make the world a better place, it took a toll on his mental health, he occasionally snapped at his loved ones. His friends, his teachers, his parents. He even blew them off to work on his cure.
His parents insisted that he had to take a break sometime soon, whether he wanted to. He took his neighbor's advice and punched her punching bag, using a picture of Trump as a target.
It didn't work.
The worse the news got, the more he was fueled by anger, hatred, and rage, it got to the point where he broke off from his friends until a cure was found. Hell, he even denied a Kids Next Door invitation to a mission.
Unfortunately, blowing off his loved ones would come back to haunt him as his family and friends suffered misfortunes.
The first two were hospitalized after crossing two redneck Trump Supporters who were petty about Trump losing.
His best friend ended up with the wrong crowd.
Both his parents lost their jobs due to their place of work shutting down for good, and the bills were piling up. It would be a matter of time before he's homeless.
And the friend secretly closest to him died of COVID. She was gone. Gone and would never come back.
Worst of all, he would lose everything else, his hometown, his socialization locations
And with that One Bad Day. He had one mission now. After he watched the news over and over again, there was one thing left to do. It was all he has left. He didn't have anything else. But one thing was for sure, it was going to take him down to a dark, dark path.
Today should have been an ordinary day. An ordinary day in 2020 is when people would enjoy watching a Netflix Series, try to appreciate what they have now, and enjoy the family that they still have.
Today was the day that everything changed.
Coronavirus rates spiked in Retroville, Indiana, and the town was required to be in lockdown once again, and the city ended up in a state of panic, getting supplies and whatnot, inexplicably resulting in the town's destruction after a panic-filled riot.
Countless thousands were murdered, and the names were still coming in.
At Area-86, he smiled sinisterly. It was too late to undo what he had done. His plan had gone perfectly, and everything would almost be completed. Professor Eric Cartman finally succeeded in what he wanted to do. Emotionally destroy Jimmy Neutron.
The figure of The Kids Next Door's new operative, Dexter: Boy Genius, leaned on the desk, looking at the South Park madman with an infuriated face, demanding answers from him.
"The Mutated Virus!" Dexter yelled, "Where'd you get it?!"
"Do you want one as well?" Cartman asked sarcastically. "Copycat!"
Then, Dexter got angry and lifted him by by the collar, ready to tear a new one into Cartman, until a blast came from his right. Dexter could see his techno-gauntlet covered fists were clenched tight together, and could hear the angered breaths. Concerned, Dexter releases his grip on the sociopath.
"Get. Away. From. Him." Jimmy shouted.
"I'm handling this!" Dexter said, sternly.
Jimmy approached Cartman who leaned with one elbow on the table to hold his head up.
Jimmy then threw the table into the right wall, breaking it. With just as much speed, Jimmy took Cartman by the neck and slammed him into the opposite wall.
"YOU INFECTED THEM!" Jimmy yelled, "MADE ME LOSE MOM, DAD, BETTY, GODDARD..."
He looked at the ground defeated.
"Cindy..." Jimmy sadly sighed.
This wasn't supposed to happen. It was supposed to be the beginning of a breakthrough for a cure for COVID-19. But the newest outbreak caused riots out of hysteria, resulting in Goddard accidentally being destroyed beyond repair, Carl and Sheen to be hospitalized. Sure, Libby was safe, but Cindy was killed by the new virus mutation made by Professor Finbarr Cartman, alongside with his family.
"You never learned from Yolkus, did you? No wonder no one wants to be your friend!" Cartman taunted.
Jimmy growled as he raised a fist up to punch the Skull in his face.
"Jimmy, don't!"
Jimmy punched the wall just inches away from Cartman's face as he smirked, continuing to goad the young hero.
"That's what I think is so fascinating about you, Jimmy." Cartman laughed, "You're much more gullible than him."
He motioned to Dexter as Jimmy threw the Cartman into the opposite wall.
"You think you can have a family." Cartman pointed out, "That locking me up in here will somehow magically reform me. And the people you love will be safe."
He pulled his chair back up and sat back down in it.
"So smart, so naïve." Cartman laughed, as Jimmy approached him, "Now leave me. I have planning to do to kill even more the next time I break out."
Jimmy, having enough, grabs Cartman by the neck, ready to do what was necessary to save millions.
"THAT'S ENOUGH." Dexter declared, stepping up to stop Jimmy.
Jimmy just flung him back with the push of a hand as Dexter hit the back wall hard.
"I know it's soon…." Cartman wheezed as Jimmy focused his attention back to the sociopath, "But…do you think you'll ever love again? Perhaps….Perhaps next time you won't end up killing your next family."
With those words, Jimmy finally snapped. He has finally taken all he could from those who have tried to kill him and/or his family. One of them killed so many of Jimmy's cared ones. And he was not ready to let others do this to him or anyone else any longer. There was only one way to do it and Jimmy didn't care about the consequences anymore.
Jimmy drew his fist back.
Dexter looked up just in time to see Jimmy punch Cartman in the chest. Thanks to the newly built gauntlets, the punch became so hard that upon impact, Cartman's chest cavity and organs were ripped out.
Eric Theodore Cartman was dead.
This was the point of no return and Jimmy Neutron had made his decision in the name of the greater good.
