I don't own RWBY. I own OC's.

Sorry if you find any grammar mistakes. I'm still learning English because it's not my first language.

David was laying on his bed in team RWBY's dorm, staring at the ceiling as he listened to the music on his music device. He only had one earbud in his ear. He always was placing one earbud in his ears if he was with someone to make sure he was going to this someone calling out to him. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't.

Nothing usual happened for the rest of the week. He was actually suprised how a school dedicated to making teenagers with super powers into hunters could be so normal, and boring at times. For example, Professor Port's lessons were still mostly about him talking about his younger days, and Oobleck was still so fast in everything he was doing in his class to the point when David could barely keep up with him. It was actually a miracle that he managed to get some notes done from his class.

The class that was at least a bit more exciting than the usual one was Professor's Goodwitch class. He had a chance to witness how the other students sparred with each other, using their various weapons to fight off their opponents. He didn't had a chance to spar with someone, yet because he didn't had any weapons. He was actually quite relieved about not having to fight, yet, because he knew he'd get his butt kicked with his nonexesting fighting experience.

Despise how boring the classes could get, he actually learned some interesting things about the world he recently found himself in. One of the things that he learned about since his awakening was what dust was. It apparently was a source of energy in Remnant.

He made some good friends during this week. He quickly became friends with his roommates and even started getting along with Weiss. David had no idea what made her change behaviour, but he wasn't complaining about it. She was still acting rather cold a few times, which earned her the nickname "Ice Queen" which she obviously despised, but it was still a massive improvement compared to the first day.

He became friends with Jaune and his team as well. He wondered how someone as quiet as Ren could keep up with someone as energetic as Nora. Even though he barely knew them, it was obvious for him that the energetic girl had feelings for her calmer friend. It wasn't his concern, though.

Headmaster Ozpin noticed that he quickly got along with both of the teams and actually decided to tell them about his origin and that he is not from Remnant, and it earned quite reactions from them, especially from Nora and Ruby who literally bursted into the dorm of team RWBY and bombarded him with dozens of questions. He barely could speak by the end of the day after answering all of the questions his new friends asked him.

He moved his head back and forth slowly to the sound of the music going through his ears as he proceeded to stare at the ceilling, not even noticing Ruby who was slowly leaning towards his ear with a whistle in her hand.

His gaze went over to the left and his eyes snapped open at the view of Ruby readying herself to blow her whistle. He didn't had a chance to react as the dark haired girl blew her whistle, causing David to fall off his bed. He got himself back on his feet to see the leader of team RWBY who stood with her sister.

"What are you doing, Red?" He asked her, using the nickname he gave her a few days ago.

"We're going out." Ruby explained, plain and simple.

"Going out?" He titled his head to the side a bit, slamming his hand against his head, attempting to get rid of the sound of ringing from his ears, "Where?"

"What?" Yang raised her brow as her sister put her whistle aside, "Did you forget what we were going to do today?"

David remained silent for a few seconds, waiting for the ringing in his ears to stop. When it finally did, he quickly reminded himself that today was the day when he and his roommates were going out to pick weapons for him. He mentally cursed himself for not instantly remembering about it.

"Oh..." He rubbed the back of his head, a bit embarassed about it, "Right. It's today."

"How did you forget about it?" Weiss asked him as she sat on top of her bunk bed.

"I didn't remember about it the moment when Red mentioned going out because I was focusing on getting rid of the sound of ringing from my ears." David explained himself, causing Weiss to roll her eyes at his excuse as he picked up his music device and his earbuds from the floor. He turned the song he was currently listening to off and placed both of his things in his pocket, "We're heading out now?"

"Yes." Ruby nodded her head, "Otherwise there is something you need to do before going out."

"There's nothing really I planned to do for now." David answered as his gaze went over to the corner of the room where a the sleeping bag he got from Jaune and his team during his first night there was laying, "Maybe there is one thing I should, but it should only take a minute or two." He came over to the sleeping bag and picked it up from the floor. He held it out, showing it to his roommates, "I need to give it back to Jaune and his team. I already should have give it back to them a few days ago."

"Okay." Ruby nodded her head, once again, "We'll be waiting for you down the hallway."

David responded with a nod of his own as he came over to the exit from the dorm and opened the doors. He walked through the now opened exit and knocked on the doors of the dorm of team JNPR and Jaune opened it a a few seconds after. The blond haired teenager greeted him with a friendly smile, "Hey, David."

"Hey, Jaune. I came here to return this." David greeted him back with a small smile on his own as he held the sleeping bag out to him, "Thanks for borrowing it to me. You guys seriously saved my life back then."

Jaune looked over David's shoulder and saw the members of team RWBY leaving their dorm before heading down the hallway. He took the bag from David and turned back to look Ren who sat on his bed, "Ren! David brought your sleeping bag back!"

The black haired teenager looked up from the book he was currently reading as Jaune threw him sleeping bag to him. He caught it without any problem and placed it aside before going back to his book.

"I saw team RWBY coming out of your dorm." Jaune pointed out, "Are you going somewhere?"

"We're heading out into the town to pick a weapon for me." David explained, "Want to tag along?"

"Sure. I don't really have anything planned for today." Jaune nodded his head before turning around to look at his team, "What about you guys?"

Pyrrha smiled and nodded her head, and so did Nora who nodded her head so quickly that it made David wonder how she didn't broke her neck as Ren simply shrugged his shoulders, not minding tagging along.

It took them about an hour to get to the place where David was going to choose his weapons, but he didn't mind that it took them so long to get there that much. It was the first time when he had actually left Beacon and went out into the town since he joined that academy and getting to know the city was good for him, right?

The shop they were heading to appeared in their view when they spotted small building on the other side of the street. There was a sign above to the doors that simply said "Hunter's Weapon Store". The owner was clearly not too creative when he was it came to naming his store, but at least they instantly spotted it thanks to that.

David grabbed the handle of the doors and pushed it open, before entering the store, only to be greeted by the view of swords of all sizes, daggers, spears, hammers, guns, only a name of few, or even some of the dust crystal he recently learned about in the Beacon Academy. He turned his gaze away from all of the weapons and turned it towards his friends.

He set his eyes on Ruby, who looked literally like she just found herself in heaven. She placed her hands on David's shoulders and started shaking him widly, clearly excited about it, "You have no idea how much I envy you right now, David!"

"Why?" David asked Ruby, removing her hands from his shoulder.

"You're going to choose your weapon in a few minutes!" Ruby explained, "How is that not exciting?!"

David didn't even had a chance to reply to her words as the dark haired girl practically leaped herself forward from the group and started making her way across the entire shop, eyeing every weapon on display. She looked like a child in a candy store.

He turned to look at Yang and gave her a questioning look, "Is she always like this when it comes to weapons?"

Yang simply shrugged it off, with a smile on her face, "It's just Ruby being herself."

David nodded his head to that, "I'll take that as yes."

It was when a dark haired man in his mid 40's who the students of Beacon assumed to be the owner of this store came out through the doors which were most likely leading to the back of the shop.

Ruby turned to him with a smile, "Hello Mr. Hunter!"

"Ruby Rose." Hunter smiled. He and Ruby must have met each other in the past, which didn't suprise her friends and sister at all, considering how obsessed she was with weapons, "When I got the information from the Beacon Academy that today a group of students is going to come here to choose a weapon for one of them, I should have excepted that you would be one of them, especially after I heard that you were accepted earlier into the academy."

David raised his hand in the air, "That would be me."

"Alright, then. You're free to look around my shop. Hopefully you'll find a weapon that you'll like." Hunter nodded his head, "If you won't find anything that interests you, then don't be afraid to ask me for recommendations."

David nodded his head in return before he and his friends scattered all over the store, intending to find a weapon for him that he'd like. As he was trying to find a weapon for himself, he received a few recommendations from his friends, but he didn't choose any of the weapons they reccomended to be his own weapon. For example Nora was suggesting him to use a hammer that was similiar to hers. He grinned at the thought of her reacting to a certain superhero from the movies and comic books from his world. She'd certainly instantly became his number one fan.

About thirty minutes minutes passed until he spotted a weapon that caught his attention, or two weapons to be exact. Two short swords. He grabbed both of the swords into his grasp and lifted them up to his eye level, making sure to eye them carefully.

"I see that you found something you like. " He heard Hunter's voice say from where he stood behind the counter.

David nodded his head in response. For some unknown reason for him, he always liked when a character was using two swords at the same time. He didn't know, why, but he did. He moved both of the blades around a bit, making sure to not hit himself or any of the people standing around him.

He turned away from the swords and looked at Hunter, "I'll take it."

Instantly after hearing him say this, Weiss reached her hand out to him, "Let me take look at this."

"Why?" David asked her, confused as he handed his new blades to her.

"There's something I need to check about them." Weiss explained, beginning to look around the swords.

"Check what?" David asked her another question, sounding as much confused as he was a moment ago, but got no answer.

"Neither of these swords have a ranged component to them, am I right?" Weiss asked Hunter after a moment of eyeing David's new blades, wanting to be sure if she was right about them being just regular swords to which Hunter nodded his head, proving her to be right.

"Ranged component?" David said to Weiss after hearing her ask Hunter this question, "Do I need one?"

Weiss nodded in confirmation, "Yes."

"She's right, David." Pyrrha nodded in agreeement to the Ice Queen's words, "Trust us on this. You're going to need one."

David paused for a moment before replying. Now that he thought about it, a gun, no matter if it was either a pistol or a sniper-rifle was a part of most of his friends weapons. They wouldn't have guns as a part of their weapons, if they didn't need it, right? He nodded his head at them as his gaze went over to one gun that caught his attention while the were searching for a melee weapon for him, "You're the ones with far more more experience than me."

They moved over to the part of the store that had all kinds of guns for sale as Weiss cleared her throat, before speaking up, "Remember to take your time. You'll be..."

She was cut off by her roommate who said, as if he didn't even heard her speaking to him, "I found one."

Everyone turned to David to see him holding up a revolver, as Ruby titled her head a bit and said, "You choose it rather quickly."

"It didn't took me as long as it did with my blades because it caught my attention when we were looking for a weapon for me." David explained, earning a nod of understanding from the leader of team RWBY as he turned to look at Hunter, wanting to ask him a question, "Does it have a name already?"

"No." Hunter shook his head, "If you want to name it, then go ahead."

"Then, I'll name it Ambassador." David declared, without having second thoughts about naming this revolver like that. The main reason why he named this revolver like that was because it looked very similiar to one of the weapons from one of his favourite games, but he never really used it that much.

Blake exchanged a confused look with her team, before asking, "Why Ambassador?"

"It just feels right." David answered with a small grin forming on his lips as he put the revolver on the counter, "Is there anything else I need?"

"Well..." Ruby said with a small pause, "I guess you could use something you could use for landing, just in case if you will ever need something like that."

David titled his head, with a raised eyebrow, "Why would I need anything for landing?"

"If you want a good example then, let me tell you how we found themselves in the Emerald Forest not long before we found you." Blake began, "Ozpin threw us into the air and we had to figure out how to land safely on the ground."

David's eyes shot open in suprise after hearing that, Ozpin really did that?, "He did what?"

Nora simply waved it off as if it was nothing, "Don't worry about it, Davey. Most of us landed without a problem. Jauney here was the only one of us that had one with landing."

"I just wasn't prepared for it and didn't had anything to use to land on the ground." Jaune nervously laughed it off as he turned to look at Pyrrha, offering her a grateful smile, "Good thing Pyrrha helped me back there."

Pyrrha looked at Jaune and respoded with a smile on her own as David looked at Hunter, "You heard them, sir. Do you have any recommendation for something that I could use for landing?"

"Something you could use for landing, you say?" Hunter said, placing his hand on his chin. He thought for a few seconds before an idea what to give David appeared in his mind, "I think I may have something for you. It's one of my personal favourites."

He reached under the counter and pulled out a normal hook with long black line attached to it. David looked down at it before turning his gaze back at Hunter, "What's that?"

"Grappling hook." Hunter began his explanation, "You attach it to your wrist and shot out your hand forward with the hook if you want to move around faster or to land somewhere if your for example jumping off the building. You can also use it to leap from the wall towards the enemy if you will fire the hook at the wall."

Ren placed his hand on his chin, "It sounds like a useful thing to move around."

"Not only that. It can be used as a weapon too." Hunter continued as everyone looked at him, curious, "You can shot it forward at the Grimm heading towards you and the hook will attach itself to it. It will take you straight to that Grimm and how will finish it off, either with the blades or with the revolver, it's your call."

"So, It's like a mix of something a person can use to move around and a weapon?" Yang asked him with a raised eyebrow.

"You can say that." Hunter nodded his head in confirmation, "It has one major flaw, though."

"And that flaw is?" Blake asked him.

"It takes some time to master it." Hunter answered as he looked at David, "What do you think?"

"It won't make much difference to me. I'm starting from scratch, anyway." David thought to himself before taking the grappling hook from the counter, "I'll take it."

"I'm glad." Hunter smiled, "You can try it out, now, if you want to."

"Are you serious?" David asked to which Hunter nodded in confirmation, "Where?"

Hunter pointed backwards, "In the back of my store."

David was silent for a few seconds, thinking about Hunter's offer, before shrugging his shoulders, "Why not."

He along with team RWBY and team JNPR followed Hunter into the back of the store where they found themselves in a room where Hunter must have been spending his time when he wasn't talking with the customers. Hunter came over to David and started to help him putting the grappling hook around his right wrist, giving him a quick instruction how to put it on in the process.

A short moment passed before the owner of this store gave David a quick thumbs up, telling him that the grappling hook was ready to use at any moment before stepping away from David and joining the others.

David let out a small sigh, readying himself for what he was about to do as he shot his hand forward, the hook shooting right from his wrist shorty after. It touched the wall ahead of him and he went flying forward towards it. He screamed before slamming into the wall. He collapsed on the floor, with his face facing it as he heard a few members from JNPR and RWBY flinch, but wasn't able to see who.

He pushed himself off his stomach onto his back and looked up at them to see their worried expressions. He gave them a quick thumbs up, assuring them that nothing happened to him, "I'm okay!"

The return to Beacon took them the same amount of time as it took them to get to Hunter's store. Luckily for him, he didn't had to pay for any of the stuff he got from Hunter's store, because the owner was informed earlier that someone else was paying for it. He didn't know why but he wasn't going to question this for now. Making debts was one of the last things he should be doing right now.

He was told by his roommates to go to Professor's Goodwitch classroom along with team JNPR because there was one thing they had to get from their dorm. A quick theory quickly formed in David's mind. There wasn't really a point of him staying in the school which trains people that slain these Grimm creatues without having any combat training, right?

He and team JNPR entered Professor's Goodwitch classroom and made their way over to her desk. David placed his new revolver and blades on top of it, deciding to keep his grappling hook on his wrist for now.

"Hey, Davey." He heard Nora call out to him.

He turned around to look at the orange haired girl, "Yes, Nora?"

"Can I listen to your music?" Nora asked him.

"Sure. Go ahead." David shook his head as he reached into his pocket and pulled out his music device and earbuds. He held his things out to her, "Just don't break it."

"Don't worry, David. I'm sure that she won't break it." Jaune assured him, "You don't need to say this everytime when one of us borrows it."

"I'm simply being cautious." David explained himself a few seconds before Nora placed the earbuds in her ears before turning the music device on. She smiled and started bobbing her head to the sound of the music going through her ears.

It was when the entrance to the classroom shut open and team RWBY walked in. Each one of them carried their weapons. They started making their way over to David and team JNPR.

He glanced at over at approaching team RWBY and picked up his swords from the desk, knowing it is just a matter of moments before his traning will begin, "Let me guess, we're starting now?"

"There's one more thing we need to do before you begin your training." Pyrrha declared.

"That thing is?" David asked as the red haired girl came closer to him.

"Close your eyes and concentrate." She told him in response as she placed her hand on his shoulder and closed her eyes.

"Uh..." David let out, not really knowing what to say before closing his eyes as well, "If you say so, but what are..."

He was cut off when Pyrrha started saying something that David assumed to be some sort of oath, "...For it is in passing that we achieve immortality. Through this, we become a paragon of virtue and glory to rise above all. Infinite in distance and unbound by death, I release your soul, and by my shoulder, protect thee..."

He decided not to interrupt her by trying to finish what he was planning to ask her. He instead focused on doing what she told him to do. Only a few seconds had to pass until he felt how a rush of something going through his body. He opened his eyes when Pyrrha stopped speaking and saw some shining energy going across his entire body.

"Was that what I think it was?" He asked her a second later, wanting to be sure as Pyrrha leaned down a bit and placed her hands on her knees, letting out a small breath, "Are you okay?"

"Don't worry." Pyrrha gave him a small assuring nod, "I just used my aura to unlock yours, but the energy that is protecting you now is your own."

David nodded his head in understanding. So, this is how having an aura felt like. It was certainly a strange feeling at first, but it took him only a few seconds to get used to it. It made him feel relieved as well because he doubted he'd survive for long if he didn't have it.

He watched how Pyrrha let out one breath after another before she turned away from him and walked back towards the others. She traded a quick word with them before Weiss stepped out, taking a few steps towards David, holding her own weapon in ready. He knew what it meant.

He exhaled deeply, as held his blades out, now ready for his first lesson, "Here we go..."

Me: *Talks about updating this story more frequently*

Also me: *Doesn't update it for another few months*

If I will keep updating this story like that, then it's going to be finished by my grandchildren...

The next chapter will be about the events of Jaundice and Forever Fall. Hopefully next year I'll get more chapters for this story done.

I hope you like the weapons I picked for David. His training has officially begun and I won't make him an OP fighter after a few training sessions. He'll be just like Jaune when it comes to his fighting skills, he'll improve, but slowly. The same thing with his semblance, believe me, it is going to take a while for him to unlock his.

Anyway, hope it wasn't that bad. See you in another chapter.
