The freezing cold wind blew gently into the room through an open window. The full moon peeked down through stormy clouds. Hiro lay tangled in the blue sheets on a nearby bed. His light brown locks brushed his cheeks slightly as they swayed in the late night breeze. Although his young face seemed calm, his dark eyes shone with hidden emotions as he stared up through the clouds to the moon high above.

"Kisa…." Hiro whispered as slender fingers wrapped around the small photo hidden under his pillow. His breath caught in his throat as his eyes connected with the smiling ones of the girl he secretly loved. Kisa's light orange silk hair whirled around her smiling face as she strolled happily through the park. A small blush stained her cheeks as her delicate hands reached out towards him.

'Come with me, Hiro-Chan!'

Kisa's sweet voice rang through Hiro's head as he remembered that day. His heart raced with excitement as he thought back on it. Her hands… wide open and ready to accept him. Could Kisa see through the tough and rude mask he hid himself behind? Could she feel the same? Would she really accept him?

Hiro's eyes darkened as they welled with unshed tears. No, she wouldn't. The dream Hiro had of one day holding her close, whispering to her gently, cracked into pieces. He stared sadly at the cloud-covered moon. He bit his lip until it bleed to hold back the threatening tears. He winced as he fingered his cut lip. He stared regretfully at the blood on his finger. The bond was broken; he had been released. Hiro was free from his curse. He couldn't help but worry though; what about Kisa? Kisa was still connected to Akito, the god, and remained cursed under the zodiac tiger. Hiro's eyes spilled over with desperate tears. What do you do when you love a person you can never hold in your arms?

The doubt that laid heavily on Hiro's heart and mind softened as his tear-filled eyes rested upon Kisa's kind face and forgiving eyes…. Her joyful smile and blushing cheeks. Regret filled his heart as he remembered that day, with her in that bed, beaten and bruised.

'Akito… he was mad for some reason…'

How could Kisa smile at him so sincerely after he caused Akito to hurt her so badly?

'You always cared… when I got hurt… that time… I never noticed… I'm sorry…'

As Hiro glanced back up into the now clear sky, at the shining moon, he realized something. Kisa was like the sun, bright and happy, radiating light and joy upon everyone. He was like the moon, needing the sun's light to glow at night. Deep inside, he knew: he needed Kisa. Did she need him? Did she love him? Would she accept his love or reject it?

Peering carefully one last time at the small picture, he noticed something in Kisa's eyes. As he half-heartily shoved the photo back under his pillow he realized what he saw. Her light autumn eyes shone with happiness, love and trust.

Then Hiro knew. He could do it. He punched his hand lightly as he smiled, reassured. He would tell her exactly how he felt, no matter what. She would accept his feelings, whether she felt the same or not. At least, Kisa would hear him out.

He sighed in relief as he gently closed the window cutting off the chilled wind. Hiro couldn't help but smile slightly as he closed his sleepy eyes. The moon shone down on his calm face. The wind howled against the window as the stormy clouds were blown away slowly.

"I love you, Kisa…. beloved tora…. My taiyou…"
