By the time they finally cleaned up and walked out, everyone was ready to go. Tacki had fixed up all the shirts given to her that needed zippers, and she even made clothes for Kianna. Puri-Puri Prisoner was still completely lost in his thoughts on what Zenchu told him. Even from what Tsuruga stated. Commitment?! But…but…there are so many men out there that need my love! How can I be bound to just one? It makes no sense!
"Are we ready to go?" Inichi asked.
"I would like to fly there with Saitama. Wind Crane can fly next to me," Mitsumi smiled. Tacki had made the same type of strands along her belt for the fans to move in and out of using the same yellow fabric as her hero costume to match it. It worked perfectly for her.
"What? How?" Zombieman asked. Now his jaw dropped at the sight of the crane fans moving on their own to fully split out into the massive set of crane wings. Saitama moved behind her and jumped high into the air with her to hover with her. They waited like that until everyone was loaded up that wanted to go.
"I want to try cleaning the place up," Richoo chuckled on Wind Crane's back. Inichi was going to carry the other heroes in a bubble. Wind Crane was going to carry the family. Orotsu was staying behind to cook up dinner. Masaki wanted to go to see what he could learn.
"I'll work on you next," Child Emperor said to Masaki. "You said you stepped on a scorpion?"
"I think so," he nodded. "I don't know how you can collect blood from me, though. Most of my body is made of hard shell now. Maybe between the joints? Or along my face? I have no idea."
"Masaki, before you try to get cured, I want to see how potent your tail venom is to my fang venom. I can melt almost anything. Saitama, though…he can handle it just fine. With his bare hands," Shenjou said with a small shudder.
"What?! I saw you melt down metal! And that one has no problems?" Masaki seemed to gape. "Wow…"
"Yes. So, we'll see how strong tail venom is to fang venom when we come back," Shenjou nodded. "I already said I may stay like this to help with my venom. It has saved Lady Mitsumi's life many times. Including her sister's life."
"Her sister?" Zombieman asked.
"Yes. She was hanging off of ropes and ready to be sliced in half if we opened a main door," Shenjou sighed. Inichi sent over the vision to Zombieman now. He was in shock. "My venom removed the blades."
"Hmm…" Zombieman frowned in thought. It's odd being with this group. Normally I prefer to work alone. But this group…makes me feel…included? So strange! And these monsters…they really DO save people! I kinda…want to know more… Inichi was now moving him, Puri-Puri Prisoner, Tanktop Master, Child Emperor and Sneck in a blue bubble. Wind Crane was carrying everyone else.
"Why are we going again?" Kamikaze asked on bracing against Wind Crane's back in flight. Fumio was being pulled against him to ensure he wouldn't fall off for safety. King and Kianna were able to hold on to the feathers easily.
"Because it's fun! And I might have to repair something," Tacki said.
"It's a new place," Rendor grinned and let Tatsumaki cuddle him.
"Nothing wrong with that," Fubuki nodded. "I helped locate it, too."
"I love exploring new places!" Kamiko said with excitement to get Genos nodding with agreement with her from where they sat along the back of Wind Crane's neck.
"You okay, Zenchu?" Shenjou asked from Wind Crane's claws.
"I'm fine," Zenchu said. Wind Crane was carrying him in her mouth.
"If you bite him, he regenerates!" Saitama shouted over with a grin.
"You can shut up!" Zenchu shouted back amidst all the laughter.
"Impossible…" Inichi sighed. "Just follow me."
"Okay!" Mitsumi smiled and was quick to work the fans into a flight pattern to fly alongside him and Wind Crane. They soared over the land towards the desert landscape of destruction. The flight was a blissful twenty minutes of light chit-chat and small banters with laughter. It would have been faster if Inichi was doing all of it, but he greatly enjoyed this, too. As they started to land, Inichi was quick to mentally report of an odd crew in the desert studying the pillars he made. He judged only two people, but that could always change.
"How many are there?" Kamiko asked.
"I can see two, but there may be more," Inichi said to her.
"Land us," Saitama muttered to Mitsumi. "We can't let them see the temple. We have to shoo them off first."
"Right!" she nodded and dive-bombed close to where the two people were.
"Ahh!" a researcher panicked at the dust storm she kicked up.
"Someone call the Hero Association!" the other shouted.
"Eh…we are heroes," Saitama said when he stood next to Mitsumi and let Inichi, Tatsumaki and Fubuki remove the dust. "Check your rosters."
"Ah…oh…" the first researcher blinked at what he read on the online site from his mobile phone. Then he gaped at Mitsumi with ten full fan sets hovering over her in a perfect circle. He took off his protective hat to reveal black hair, but the sunglasses on his face kept everything else hidden on him other than being tall and lanky in his traveling gear. His companion seemed to be the same, but his brown hair was clipped very short under his hat.
"I am Fan Dancer. I came here to explore. What are you doing here?" she asked and let Wind Crane land behind her and place Zenchu on the ground first. Then she let off her passengers before walking over to place her beak on Mitsumi's shoulder to show she was a friend.
"That's…a giant monster…" the second researcher gaped.
"Yeah. She's an ally," Tanktop Master said when he walked over.
"An important one," Sneck nodded.
"You drooled on me," Zenchu grimaced and wiped off his top. Now he looked at her. "No! You don't need to puke on me!"
"Do it!" Saitama grinned to get Zenchu flipping him off.
"We are from Neutral Grounds," Kamiko smiled with Genos moving next to her. "The restaurant. It's our off day. So, we agreed to explore this area."
"What brings you here?" Mitsumi asked. King stood up tall and let Kianna rest against him. At the blaze of the sun, Wind Crane stood up and stretched her wings out to give some intense shade and relief.
"Thank you," King nodded to get a clucking chuckle back.
"We saw an anomaly of fiery birds come from this direction," the first researcher said. Mitsumi sighed and nodded.
"I know. I caused it," she said with a knowing smile. "No, I'm not going to repeat how I did it. I could, but it's too dangerous up close. And it was to send a message to monsters that were in hiding that they are now being hunted."
"Oh?" the other researcher asked. That was when her fans suddenly swirled around him. Saitama now glared at him with his blank face. Wind Crane readied to attack him. Zombieman paused and caught the vibe in the air quickly.
"I see…you're one of them?" Mitsumi said and took out the controlling crescent crane fans to flick them into their three counterparts before flicking the blades out. "Let's see if it's true. Shall we?"
"What's this?!" the first researcher gaped and got lifted away by Inichi before she darted around the faulty man to let her fans dance and cut around the other with intense accuracy. When she was back in Saitama's arms and he snapped his fingers, all the clothing and skin fell away to reveal a skeletal figure in the form of a many armed bear-like monster with intense spikes all over its back. It pulled itself up to its full height of nearly fifteen feet and roared with challenge at being discovered.
"Another one?!" Puri-Puri Prisoner gaped.
"Eh…yeah? There's tons of them," Saitama shrugged.
"Not impressed," Zenchu said and flicked his tail.
"WHAT?!" the monster hissed at him.
"You heard me. I'm not impressed. I've seen bigger. Hell, my dick is bigger than you," Zenchu smirked.
"I AM ANCIENT!" it boasted and increased its bulk to bring out more spikes all over its body.
"So is Wind Crane. She's five…no…six hundred years old. Are you that old?" Zenchu asked. Wind Crane ruffled up her feathers and let out a shockwave squawk. It knocked the monster flat on its back with stunned disbelief. And now the spikes on its back anchored it into the loose sand.
"Here we go!" Rendor grinned and let his monster form ripple out and grow to become his hunting form. The other heroes gaped with shock, and he just let out a blood-thirsty snarl before leaping onto the other monster to lock his jaws down on its throat to pin it.
"What are you waiting for? Go kill it!" Saitama said to get the heroes rushing in to beat it down. "If I have to punch it, I may damage something around us. Just kill it fast!"
"Stay here," Kamikaze said to Tacki and placed her next to Mitsumi. He knew her fans would protect her and any others that stayed with her. He took out his sword and rushed in to strike true.
"Careful!" she said and watched the monster. "I don't see regeneration, but it's still pretty tough!"
"I know!" he grunted and sliced off a leg. Puri-Puri Prisoner did multiple hole punches into it now. Tanktop Master ripped an arm off with his bare hands. Sneck was busy attacking its face with quick hand strikes to its eyes and nose. Zombieman took out an axe and proceeded to hack into the monster's side with his inhuman strength. He didn't go all out, though, as he darted around it and sliced through the hide to bleed it out to death. The grin on his face showed he rather enjoyed doing this.
"Should we get Bane?" Kamiko asked.
"Nah. We're good," Saitama said and watched Genos start recording and assisting with a spray of gunfire at a distance with intensely accurate calculations to avoid hitting anyone else. Fubuki and Tatsumaki were ensuring the monster couldn't get back up to defend itself.
"I'll clean up any blood on your clothes," Richoo said from where he stood by Mitsumi. Tsuruga now charged into it and gored a side open with brute strength to start spilling out its entrails. It was still alive and flailing.
"Taking too long," Shenjou said when he moved over with Masaki. "Time to test the venom?"
"Let's," Masaki grinned and struck out with his tail to inject the other leg that was still attached. Shenjou snapped out lightning-quick to inject his venom right into the monster's chest cavity. Now they all backed way to see the monster leg bubble over and explode with fetid rot. The monster was dead when Shenjou's venom simply ate through skin, bone, tissues and made fang holes to the other side.
"I think it's dead," Zenchu grinned.
"Very," Saitama agreed. "And I didn't have to punch it! Impressive."
"I had no idea my venom did that. Maybe…I should stay like this. I'll think about it," Masaki mused and looked at his scorpion tail with a touch of pride.
"Anyone gonna eat that?" Shenjou asked and flicked a tongue.
"All yours," Tsuruga grinned and laughed. Zenchu was quick to shove the dismembered arm and leg into the chest cavity for consumption.
"What?!" Puri-Puri Prisoner gaped when Shenjou proceeded to swallow the monster down with bits of venom leaking from his fangs to make it easier to digest. The researcher was just in shock that his field partner was a monster all along. Inichi set the man down to talk to him.
"What were you both looking for out here?" Inichi asked.
"He kept talking about a lost temple. That it was from the legendary Wind Crane Clan…" the researcher paused. Then he paused with recognition at Mitsumi's fan designs. Then he gaped with shock at Wind Crane.
"Now you know too much," Mitsumi said with a small narrowing of her eyes. Saitama kept Mitsumi at his side and regarded the researcher.
"There is a temple here. It does belong to the Wind Crane Clan. My fiancée is the last member of the clan. Wind Crane is the creator of the clan. Yes, we were here to look into the temple. No, you can't come with us. It's a very secretive place. And she may buy the place," Saitama said.
"Such a location is priceless!" the researcher said.
"I am Mitsumi Takashi. The sole heir of my father's estate. I can name a price and the place is mine," Mitsumi shrugged. "I will protect it and keep it safe this way. Granted, right now you are not trespassing. But, if I know the temple is true to form and needs protection, you will be. Until I inspect the temple in full, I refuse to let any outsiders in."
"She means you, Zenchu," Saitama said.
"In your dreams," Zenchu grunted with a smirk and a tail flick.
"Inichi," Mitsumi now said to get the floating blue monster to hover over her and spook the researcher again. "What do you make of this?"
"Hmm…" Inichi mused and blinked his cat eye pupils amidst the red of his eyes and seemed to frown. "You need to go back home."
"I can't! I spent three months preparing for this! I took off work. I hoarded my money! I just…there's no way. I need something," he said. At this, Wind Crane ruffled her feathers and let one drop.
"Are you sure?" Mitsumi frowned. She picked up the feather and gave it to the researcher. "Wind Crane's feathers are true armor. They can never be broken. She is offering this as a keepsake for you."
"As amazing as that is…it's not enough," the researcher admitted, but he still accepted the priceless gift. Now Wind Crane stood up tall to look at him with a brilliantly blue sapphire bird eye.
:DO YOU PLAN TO SHARE SECRETS?:
"Ah! You talk! I mean…well…as a researcher, I report findings. I…" he started and blinked at the sight of several crane fans flicking their blades out in warning. "If there is nothing to report…"
"Just the fact that you saw the temple can be enough. The Secret Skins is a race of monsters that are attempting to wipe out the Wind Crane Clan. If they learn this temple is here, they will attack it. It's what your partner was hoping for. I found dynamite in his travel bags," Genos said and exposed the explosives.
"I…no! No! It was his idea to come out here! To find the place! To…make a mark on the world! To show the Wind Crane Clan did exist! I mean…" the researcher was simply in shock.
"He wanted to find the place to destroy it. He was, as you saw, a true enemy of the Wind Crane Clan. I have, actually, hidden the temple for safety. We are hoping to research its secrets. What all do you know about the Wind Crane Clan?" Inichi asked. Then he blinked. "Hmm. Not much…"
"I didn't say anything," he frowned.
"No need to. I can read thoughts if I find them important enough. You cannot let the public know about this temple. Even giving you a feather can be risky. The only way we can let you take part of this is if you vow to not report anything to the public. If you do, you can report that you found an empty cave. Nothing was in it of importance at all," Inichi said.
"I…well…" the researcher frowned. "If I don't report anything, then I at least need to see with my own eyes."
"Very well," Mitsumi nodded and flicked the fans out in full. "How many layers of upper clothing are you wearing?"
"I have my outer jacket and a traveling shirt under it. Why?" he asked.
"I need to test you. Hold still," she said and darted around him when the fan blades flicked out. She darted around him for the fans to flick and dance around him. Saitama snapped his fingers once he held her close for just his jacket to fall apart. Tacki squealed at the chance to recreate it.
"Not yet!" Kamikaze grunted at her and scooped her up to keep her under control. "I know you can repair that. Give them a bit."
"But…clothing puzzle!" she pouted. "I just need five minutes!"
"She can do it now," Inichi chuckled and brought all the pieces to her in a blue bubble.
"Do you have enough thread?" Fumio asked.
"Tons!" Tacki giggled and started to quickly piece together the jacket.
"How is she not a hero yet?" Sneck asked.
"I don't wanna be one," Tacki shrugged. "And I'm pregnant, so I don't think I'd be good for it right now, anyways."
"Pregnant?!" Puri-Puri Prisoner asked with delight. Zombieman looked over with a raised brow and a small smile.
"Yes. With my kids. She's having twins," Kamikaze nodded.
"And you can't have kids with a man," Zenchu muttered out.
"Ah…well…I could adopt…" Puri-Puri Prisoner said.
"Could. Yes, that's the key word. But would you settle down with one man?" Zenchu countered. The large hero grumbled and seemed to pout.
"I can see what he does in a prison as a true punishment to any criminal there. But to find true love? Likely not," Tsuruga shrugged. "To be honest, I was curious to know you, Puri-Puri Prisoner. But, as long as you keep that mindset of needing to be with every man you see, I shall simply mind my own business and treat you as a friend from far off."
"What?!" Puri-Puri Prisoner gaped at him now.
"And, as long as you are condemned to imprisonment, I cannot be with one like yourself. Free yourself from that condition nobly and reform your thoughts. Otherwise, it's nice to make your acquaintance," Tsuruga nodded and turned his attention to the researcher. "As for you, do you still plan to reveal what you see? If you do, I'm charging at you."
"Ah…" the man gaped.
"Tsuruga," Mitsumi said gently to get him to chuckle.
"Sorry, Lady Mitsumi," he said reverently and bowed his head to accept a fond pat between the horns.
"If you promise not to spill your guts, then fine. You can see the place. But, if we find any shred of word about it, I will have Inichi bring you to me so I can punch you out," Saitama threatened. That got the others to cringe around him. Mitsumi only nodded that it was a fair judgment.
"Okay. Um…is your punch that bad?" the man had to ask. Saitama gave him a blank look, walked Mitsumi over to where one of Inichi's spare pillars was made and pointed at it. Holding Mitsumi in his left arm, he pulled his right fist back and punched for the shockwave to smash the pillar down. Then it broke halfway through the surrounding cliffside. He turned to look at the man's dead-white face. "I'll say nothing. You have my word."
"You saw the rosters, right? I'm rank 3 in S class. That's not even me being angry. If I was angry, she would have been behind me," Saitama said neutrally. "I could have easily taken out that monster with one punch. But I wanted the others to have some fun."
"Thanks," Kamikaze smirked.
"Good meal," Shenjou chuckled. "Not often I get fresh meat."
"At least the cleanup is easy," Zombieman grinned. Shenjou flicked a tongue at him with pure agreement.
"Anyways…we gonna go there?" Saitama asked and scooped up Mitsumi in his arms. Wind Crane watched Tacki toss the repaired jacket back over to the researcher, and then she turned to look at Inichi. He chuckled and gestured to the eastern section of the desert.
"I can help carry people. I suppose," Tatsumaki shrugged.
"Thank you," Rendor said and reverted back to human form. Inichi and Tatsumaki were able to bring the group directly over to where the rock slab was hiding the temple. Inichi moved it aside to use the slab later.
"Very dark," Saitama frowned. Genos used the light in his palm, but Wind Crane was able to barely squeeze in and carefully poke holes in the ceiling that were sealed by dirt. "Huh. Nice. Thanks."
Wind Crane stretched out her long neck and continued to open up various holes in the ceiling that she remembered were to bring in light and fresh air. Inichi was highly impressed now, and Richoo was quick to start clearing out the dust with Tacki and Fubuki.
"This is incredible…" Mitsumi whispered and saw all the ancient carvings in the rock. Wind Crane clucked at her to follow her, and she was quick to do so. Saitama was with her until he was stopped by Wind Crane's massive beak.
:I NEED TO SHOW MITSUMI SOMETHING FIRST. THEN YOU MAY FOLLOW. IT IS NEEDED.:
"Ah, no. I am with her at all times," he said. "You know you can trust me with all of her secrets."
Wind Crane looked at him awkwardly and folded her wings around Mitsumi. A split second later had her simply gone with Mitsumi and down a vast tunnel that opened up for them between a set of carved pillars. It almost looked like a small whirlwind encompassed the large monster to spirit her away with her charge. Saitama's jaw dropped. Inichi was even stunned. Without even thinking, Saitama charged down the tunnel now with intense pursuit. Inichi was quick to have Genos follow with his light, and even Zenchu was shadow phasing to scout ahead. Then they heard Zenchu shout out, "Shit!"
"What?!" Saitama hissed. "She did this again! She vowed she wouldn't take Mitsumi from me like that after that first time! How in the hell did she just…vanish?!"
"Her name is Wind Crane, if you recall. She merges with the wind!" Inichi said with his own amazement. "As Zenchu uses shadows, she can use the very air around us!"
"Saitama…" Zenchu grimaced and pointed at the river of lava that flowed between them and the area beyond. Inichi paused and looked at the others with them that managed to follow. He held up his hands quickly.
"This is for Mr. Saitama alone. Go to her," Inichi said.
"Is this a test?!" Saitama gaped.
"It is…" Inichi sighed. "She was hoping to do this neatly. You forced her hand. It's a form of outside recognition into the Wind Crane Clan and its secrets. It is also to completely claim Lady Mitsumi for yourself."
"What?" Saitama asked. Then he blinked at the thought that Inichi poked at him. Now he turned to face the others. "If anyone follows me, I will punch them."
"Anyone?" Zombieman frowned.
"Yes. Anyone. Don't do it. Stay here," Saitama ordered. Like HELL am I going to let the others think they have a chance to replace me! Mitsumi is MINE. And MINE alone. They know this, but I'm not chancing that!
At this warning given, he now stared at the lava in front of him. He jumped and angled to run along the wall swiftly to reach the other side. Then he moved on into the next chamber. At seeing the spiked traps, he simply walked into them and pushed the broken pieces aside when they tried and failed to mangle him. When a door tried to crush him, he slapped it back open. He stepped into another room that was filled with waterfalls, a massive gaping hole and it had intense rushing water that could easily drown the unwary explorer.
"Hmm…" he frowned and judged the distance. Then he saw a tree branch hanging off of a corner of a rock face. He leapt, caught it and swung over to the other side. In this chamber, he put his hands in front of his face and charged forward through an intense windstorm. He was starting to get pissed and finally leapt from side to side when he was able to time when the gusts of wind hit him.
When he appeared at what was the final chamber, he paused at the massive, crystalline structures that grew from the cavern walls. He found one clear pathway through them all and found himself walking up a set of carved crystal stairs. And it was here that he paused to see Wind Crane watching him with intense approval in her eyes.
:I KNOW I VOWED NOT TO TAKE HER AWAY AGAIN. BUT I HAD TO ONE FINAL TIME. FOR THIS…:
She moved aside to reveal Mitsumi in a sparkling gown of glistening white with crystals stitched in every seam. It resembled her Wind Crane Clan gown perfectly, but it was solid white in color. Behind her was where the gown once rested in a small chamber. Her hero costume was folded up and resting over her arm for now. All of her fans were formed to show they were active and protective until he got there. Saitama's jaw simply dropped at what she was wearing.
"Saitama…" she said softly and held out her hand to him. He swallowed and found himself moving to her side to gaze into her eyes.
"I take you as my wife," he muttered.
"I accept you as my husband," she whispered and let him kiss her in a way that proved that she was fully and completely his now.
"We got married?" he had to ask when the kiss broke.
"By Wind Crane and the fans," she smiled softly. "She knew you wouldn't let me be alone on our wedding day. To make it official. She…wanted to surprise you with this gown for me. Every Wind Crane Clan female wore this gown traditionally to be wed by her and the fans before the clan lost her as a leader figure. Now…this gown is mine in full until another Wind Crane Clan female can wear it and continue the tradition."
"And those chambers? What was that about?" he asked.
:I KNEW THAT ONLY YOU COULD GET PAST THEM. IT WAS TO ENSURE THAT NONE COULD EVEN ATTEMPT TO FOLLOW YOU. ONLY THE TRUE ONE FOR A WIND CRANE CLAN BRIDE WOULD BE ABLE TO GET THROUGH THE CHAMBERS IN FULL.:
"So…I didn't have to warn the others to stay put or I'd punch them?" he mused. Wind Crane clucked with soft laughter. "Okay. How do we get back to them? Or is there a way out of here?"
"There is a way out from here, and we can have the others meet us in here. I just let Inichi know, so he will be able to find the other way in. We have five minutes," Mitsumi chuckled.
"Only five?" he asked. He scooped her up into his arms and pressed a kiss to her mouth. "You're still bleeding."
"I know. We don't really have a way to clean up. And in this dress?! Don't even think about it!" she warned to get him grinning.
"Fine. We can wait," he nodded. "At least until we get home."
That had her blush hard, and he held her close to wait for the others to get to them. She's mine. We got married. Somewhat. Now I just want her to get pregnant to get the public wedding done. Or should I just…marry her publicly now? Eh… He seemed to sigh to himself, but he figured he'd call a vote on it. Who knows? They might all agree to it. I'll see what they say.
