He brought them to a mountainous region that was covered in snow. Now the coat was comfortable to wear, and Mitsumi snuggled into Saitama within it. He kept her in his arms and scanned over the region calmly.
"I'm detecting an anomaly on the right side of the mountain!" Genos said. "My recording is on!"
"Ah. I can hear the thoughts. Interesting. The name of Garou keeps coming to me now. Hmm…let me…I see…this does not bode well…" Inichi frowned. "He used to call himself a 'hero killer'?"
"Oh. That guy? Hmm. I think he's the one that punched me into a volcano," Saitama blinked. Now he looked at Mitsumi. "You stay behind me at all times. No exceptions."
"Okay," Mitsumi said.
"I'll help protect her," Zenchu said. "I think I heard about that guy, too. What is his plan here?"
"He wants to try and dig a path to the middle of the earth. The closer he gets, the more disturbed the land gets. It's hard to explain," Inichi said.
"How can a human do such a thing?" Fubuki asked.
"That's the thing. He's a monster now. He wanted to be one his whole life. Sort of like your situation, Zenchu. Bullied all the time. But he wanted the monster to always win the fight. In fact, Mr. Saitama was the only one that ran him off before. He's trying a final show of strength," Inichi sighed with pity.
"How far off is he?" Rendor asked when they got dropped off at the end of a tunnel. They noticed it was warm from the digging being done, and Inichi was able to collect the coats for now to carry with them. They came up to a large hole in the ground with sounds of frantic digging being done with intense punching. Each punch done was causing the small tremor to show how strong the monster was. As well as how relentless.
"I'm so close!" they heard a rough, male voice hiss out. "Just a bit more…!"
"I'm sorry, but we were asked to intervene," Inichi said and pulled the monster out of the hole before effortlessly collapsing it in. "There. That should stop the tremors. As for you, what sort of simple-minded thing were you attempting? Trying to tear apart the entire planet?! That's as bad as reading a horrific plot script from Sweet Mask!"
"No! You can't do that! I was so close!" the monster hissed. Mitsumi blinked at the winged, clawed, demon-like monster that was now harmlessly suspended in the air.
"Oh, hey. Nice to see you again. Do you plan to be a hero now?" Saitama asked. Now the monster looked at him and went dead quiet. "Oh, Mitsumi, it's getting cold again. Put on your coat."
"Ah. Because the lava was stopped before it happened? Okay," she smiled and collected the floating coat.
"What…the fuck…?" the monster asked.
"Oh, hey! Nice to meet a fellow monster that's not afraid to show off true colors!" Zenchu grinned. "Lady Mitsumi, what do you want to do with him?"
"I'm not sure. Saitama just wanted me with him to keep me safe. And with Tatsumaki here, too, I'm sure the situation will be resolved very quickly. Even with Fubuki," she shrugged. "We already stopped the tremors. Now we just need to figure out what to do with…you. I guess."
"Once you let me go, I'll just try and do this again!" he hissed and tried to flap his wings. Inichi's bubble had securely trapped him.
"Garou, you know that Bane would just love to meet with you," Inichi said calmly. "However, I shall spare you of that. What I can do, though, is offer you a choice. A mandatory one."
"Like he said. Or I can punch you again," Saitama said.
"You punched him and he lived?" Mitsumi blinked.
"Yeah. He took the hit. I didn't use full strength, though," Saitama shrugged. "If I did…well…"
"We get it," Zenchu snorted.
"Can I crush him?" Tatsumaki asked.
"If he doesn't respond to Inichi, I don't see why not," Rendor snorted.
"How are you all monsters with heroes?! And not getting hurt?!" Garou asked with complete shock.
"Lady Mitsumi is the reason. She woke us up. We don't like attacking. It's a waste of energy and time. And reason. Why bother?" Zenchu asked and shrugged with a flick of his tail. "I was like you once. A hundred years ago, too. Human and sick of the bullshit I was given. I turned myself into a monster and slaughtered someone once a day. At least that. Then she woke me up eighty years later. Such a fucking waste I did back then!"
"You're not the only one that had a mess of garbage done to them," Mitsumi said softly and shook her head. "I'm not going to give you my story, though. That's if you want to know. As it stands, you were causing problems. We investigated and found you. We stopped you. Our job is done. Inichi, please let him go so we can leave."
"What?!" Garou asked with shock. "You're not gonna fight me?!"
"For what purpose would that do?" she asked. "Apparently, you had a dojo to belong to. A master you respected at one point. Then you threw it all away. For what? To become a monster? Such a pointless thing to do. I'm sure you had your reasons, but…yeah. Anyways, you're free to go."
"And where would I go?!" Garou countered.
"I can make you a place in the middle of the ocean as one of the choices," Inichi said. Garou looked at him with shock. "It's really not that hard."
"It would need to be stocked with food and water, though," Mitsumi said.
"And become a protected area to avoid confrontation," Fubuki said.
"We can see about being discreet with that," Genos nodded.
"I don't…get it…" Garou said.
"What? The fact that we're being kind to you?" Zenchu chuckled. "If there was one thing you would want right now. Right this minute. What would it be?"
"The destruction of this shit-hole planet!" Garou spat.
"Well, that's a solid 'no' and not gonna happen," Rendor snorted. Tatsumaki frowned, but she was being kept calm.
"And what would you do after that happens? If you still exist?" Mitsumi asked. "Did you even think that far ahead? How would you survive?"
"Listen, bitch, I don't know who you are-!" Garou snarled and just barely saw the massive slap Saitama gave him. Garou was crashed out of Inichi's bubble and straight through the other side of the mountain into the snowy wilderness. Inichi was shocked that Saitama was able to remove the protective bubble with the force of his open palm. Genos kept his recording on and already pitied Garou.
"Now he's mad…" Zenchu grimaced and watched Saitama bolt over to Garou to grab him by the back of the neck and drag him over the ground for several feet towards a level snowbank.
"Call me names. Not her. Got it?" Saitama said tossed him down. "You insult my wife again and I'll show you how weak of a punch I gave you before. I get it. You hate living with people. Who doesn't?! You were helping them while we were fighting before, anyways. What's the big deal?"
"I'LL CRUSH YOU!" Garou shrieked and went to smash down on him. Then he paused when his fists were simply caught and held fast.
"Sure," Saitama said and gave him a head-butt to send the monster cascading even more down the mountain path. When he slowly walked over now, Garou found himself panicking from where he crashed into a tree. He knew there was no way he could take down this hero, and the head-butt didn't even phase the man. What is he made of?!
"Saitama!" Mitsumi said and jumped in front of him to hold her arms out.
"Mitsumi?" Saitama frowned and stopped to watch her. Then he realized something. "Where's your coat?! It's too cold out here for you!"
"What…?" Garou asked weakly from where he was on the ground. Why is she…defending me…?
"You can keep me warm now. And you did enough," she said softly and hugged him. "Let's go home. If he tries something again, he'll know that you'll show up and stop him. Okay?"
"If he calls you another name…" he muttered and found her finger pressed to his mouth. At her warm smile, he just sighed.
"Names are just names. Okay?" she chuckled and gave him a gentle kiss. "We stopped things. It's time to go. Leave this one to his thoughts."
"Wait…" Garou coughed. "Why…won't you…kill me…?"
"Because I feel good in you. That's why," Mitsumi said softly and let Saitama scoop her up in his arms to carry her back to the others.
"You left your coat," Saitama said with a frown.
"I did. It was too bulky to run with," she said.
"Doesn't matter. I don't want you to get sick."
"True. I haven't gotten sick since the venom days," she sighed.
"If you get sick, I'll be mad."
"Please…"
"I'm serious!"
"Then we'll take a hot bath and let Richoo clean our clothes."
"Fine. We'll do that."
Now Saitama turned with Mitsumi in his arms to see Garou running at them with a renewed fury. Then Garou found himself falling over himself to stop his charge at the sight of thirty separated fan sets making a wall of blades and cloth. He was less than three inches away from the deadly blades before scooting backwards and away. One thing that he caught was an unusual scent that seemed to perfume the air around him. He was going to think about it, but it was Mitsumi's voice that cut through the air next.
"Are you done?" Mitsumi asked Garou. "I'm the last known Wind Crane Clan assassin. These fans are from the Wind Crane Clan. They are sentient. They will kill you. I'm giving you a chance to start fresh. So, I'll give you an invitation. I am starting a bit of a monster rehabilitation center in City Z. It's where I live with Saitama. Monsters much like you that don't like attacking are living there. If you're curious, you can think of Inichi. He can fill you in. Okay?"
"Rehabilitation?!" Garou asked with shock. "What the fuck?"
"Just reach out to Inichi if you would like to know more," she said and had her fans reform into the sets of ten. They hovered around her and over her to show they were on the defensive. Garou had never seen such a thing in his life. He was going to question the strength of the blades, but several of them flicked around a fallen tree branch in front of Saitama to turn the branch into small blocks of firewood within seconds. Wasn't that tree branch frozen?!
"Lady Mitsumi!" Rendor said when he charged over to her with the coat.
"She didn't let me punch him," Saitama sighed. "And she invited him to come to City Z…"
"What?" Zenchu asked with confusion.
"He is like you, Zenchu. Just give him time to think," Mitsumi smiled. Zenchu grimaced, but he fully understood.
"He will be watched heavily. That's if he comes by," Genos nodded.
"We need to get home before she gets sick," Saitama said. All of his concern was focused on her now. As they started to leave, Garou was lost in complete thoughts of utter confusion. Even more was the scent he got from getting within striking reach of the fans. The scent of roses and rainwater had calmed him. It soothed him. It made a small crack of some form of reason in his mind.
"She said City Z. Fine. Maybe…in a month…" Garou sat down and thought hard. "Maybe."
Inichi had already made a lock with Garou the moment they met. He planned to give small suggestive thoughts now and then when he knew they could be slipped in to give it a chance. All monsters deserve a form of peace. Even if they feel it is unattainable.
"I want to go home. Genos can tell the others what happened. Mitsumi needs to get warm again," Saitama said in the blue bubble. The apartment was stopped at first to drop off Zenchu, Saitama and Mitsumi before moving to Neutral Grounds. Saitama carried Mitsumi straight to the bedroom and had her undress out of the damp costume from the snow.
"I'm fine," she said and pouted when he focused on getting the clothing out the door for Richoo. He did the same thing for himself next and started up the bath water. Only after Saitama gathered her up in his arms to carry her into the bath did he finally start to relax with her.
"You know how I am with you," he said and cradled her in the rising water.
"Far too overprotective," she said with an eye roll.
"Better believe it," he muttered and kissed her intimately. "When it comes to you, I take no chances. I can't take any chances."
"Saitama," she sighed and let him cradle her.
"You are my life now. You are all that matters to me."
"So stubborn…"
"I know."
"Single-minded…"
"Yes…"
"Blinded by love…"
"Your love," he muttered, kissed her fiercely and just barely shut off the water before finally laying claim to her. Twenty minutes later had him holding her close in his lap and resting his head against her neck. She was resting against him in the heated water and just cherishing the quiet moment.
"Everything okay?" she asked.
"Hmm? Yeah," he said and cradled her. "I do need to…mention something. I guess…"
"Oh?"
"Since your bleeding stopped I noticed some sort of…burning sensation in me. To always be with you. Like this. It's not…intense. But each day it seems to get a little stronger. Then I'm with you and the feeling is gone. It's…weird," he admitted. Now she looked at him with a bit of surprise.
"I can only assume that it's your inner power sensing things with me. As the time gets closer, then the feeling gets stronger. I only hope it doesn't get too intense during the peak days," she said with concern. "If it does…"
"I'll tell you," he said and squeezed her closer. He pressed kisses to her forehead and relished the feeling of her in his arms. I'll never get enough of this.
"I love you," she whispered and blushed at his warm smile.
"I love you," he said and kissed her passionately. "I really hope we get a little expansion."
"Hmm?" she asked and blushed even more when he rested a hand on her belly. "You want it that bad?"
"I do," he said. "I've never been as serious about something since my training days. I want a child with you. As many as I can get."
"And Fumio?"
"He'll help with watching them," he smiled. She smiled back and snuggled into him with a happy sigh. "You're happy?"
"Very," she said.
"Did you want to rest in bed and watch some shows?" he asked.
"We can. Or did you want the couch?"
"Eh…we can in here for a couple hours," he nodded. They scrubbed each other down, rinsed and dried off outside the tub. He moved into the treasure bed with her, pulled up the sheets and took up the remote. Sighing with her snuggled into him now, he turned on the television to watch it with her. He yawned and closed his eyes to enjoy the downtime.
Thirty minutes later, he opened his eyes to the sound of movement in the main room. Mitsumi was sleeping against him, and he gave a message to Inichi to keep the noise down. He rested a hand against her and blinked at a loud noise coming from the main room. He narrowed his eyes with irritation.
"Calm down!" Zenchu warned Puri-Puri Prisoner. "It's nice that you're here, but Lady Mitsumi is sleeping right now. Please keep it down."
"But I'm here on good behavior! I was given a two day pass!" Puri-Puri Prisoner said with delight. "Everyone should know!"
"And they will know when they wake up. The last thing you want to do is piss off Saitama, okay? Just find a place to sit down," Zenchu sighed.
"Where is everyone?" the large man asked.
"At the restaurant. Neutral Grounds. I know you haven't been there yet. As it stands, we just got back from a pretty intense mission. I'm hoping that things will turn out fine," Zenchu said and moved into the kitchen to prepare snacks.
In the closed bedroom, Saitama heard the whole thing and seemed to grumble. Mitsumi was still sleeping against him, and he lay back a bit more to sigh and flick through the channels. He felt a hand slowly trace over his chest five minutes later, and he glanced down to chuckle at Mitsumi gazing at him.
"Who's out there?" she asked.
"That guy from prison," he said and yawned. "I don't know why he's here, but he's here. Still tired?"
"Yeah. But I'm hungry, too," she said and sat up slightly to move onto him with a sharp giggle. "I need to satisfy this hunger first, though…"
"Really?" he grinned and let her use him however she pleased. Only after that did she show that real food was needed. "I'll see if Zenchu can bring us something. Okay?"
"Okay," she smiled and kissed him lovingly. He made sure she was covered up enough before signaling for Inichi to bring in Zenchu. What he didn't expect was for Puri-Puri Prisoner to barge in first.
"Oh! You're both awake! I have come to eagerly greet you and…ah…" Puri-Puri Prisoner gaped at Saitama sitting up in the bed to shield Mitsumi behind him. He crossed his arms over his chest and gave him a blank stare.
"Yeah. Hi. Can you leave my bedroom now?" Saitama asked. "We're not dressed. Like…at all."
"Oh…um…is that bed made of…gold?!" Puri-Puri Prisoner gaped.
"It's my treasure bed. Mitsumi agreed to help me make it. So…we made one. Anyways, can you leave now?" Saitama asked again.
"Yeah, you need to go into the other room, please," Zenchu said when he shadow phased in front of the hero to force him out. Then he looked back at Saitama. "Sorry. I was in the kitchen."
"It's fine. If he does it again, I'll slap him," Saitama shrugged.
"I'm sure you will," Mitsumi sighed and reached up to hug him from behind. "Zenchu, did you bring us something?"
"I was going to until that guy barged in. Give me a moment," he said and left. Saitama looked at Mitsumi and liked how she was pressing against his back. Right after Zenchu dropped off the plate of assorted snacks and left, Mitsumi pulled Saitama down into the bed to get him laughing softly at her.
"I can say that I have conquered you!" she grinned wickedly and put his head in her lap to feed him.
"Conquer me all you want," he chuckled and enjoyed the cheese and crackers she fed him now.
"I should feed you grapes," she mused.
"Do we have grapes?" he thought. She shrugged and looked over when the bedroom door was knocked on. Saitama sat up to shield her and was soon holding a bowl of grapes after Zenchu left. He lay back down and let her feed him leisurely. He was clearly enjoying it.
"What should we do now? The day is definitely early enough," she said.
"Hmm…well…nothing really happens until later tonight for the date night. We can keep relaxing here. I was thinking of going back out there, but…not with that other guy waiting. He may not be interested in you, but I refuse to let him think he can do anything with me," Saitama said with a mutter.
"I'm sure he would have been warned," Mitsumi chuckled. "We can wait for the others to get back before deciding what to do next to pass the time."
"Sounds good. Hmm. Ah. Fumio is studying his schoolbooks in his room. Masaki plans to see if he can teach him a few things. He was studying to be a teacher, from what he said before," Saitama said thoughtfully on what Inichi told him.
"Very true," Mitsumi agreed and watched him sit up to move the food aside to pull her close.
"Figure an hour or two?" he asked and lay back with her again.
"Sounds perfect to me," she yawned, stretched and cuddled into him again. Saitama gave out a contented sigh and chuckled softly at her finger tracing over his muscles. She is the ONLY one allowed to touch me. All others that try…they'll never get the chance to succeed.
