I watched as Edward stood talking to my dad and uncles.

It amazed me how even within the craziness in my family, he remained unfazed. I thought he would have made a run for the hills by now if I was being honest.

It never failed to surprise me, how at ease he was with all of us, and how he easily he took all of our craziness in stride, with a smile on his face.

I knew my family can be a bit much, especially to strangers, but those who stuck around and handled all the craziness, got to see why we stick together, despite having so many differences between each other.

Many have come and gone, but those who have stayed fit like another piece of the massive crazy-ass puzzle.

I liked to think of us as a modern version of the Adams family. Well without Lurch or Thing.

Everyone seemed to be having a wonderful time, despite the whole 'Aunt Jackie' debacle that happened moments prior.

My uncle Benning was so angry with her, that he took her to her sister's house in Oakland, before coming back wordlessly.

Only speaking to my Mawmaw and Pawpaw for a moment, before taking his kids and leaving as well.

I wanted to apologize for what happened earlier but figured he needed time to cool off. Especially if he was anything like my dad, they are brothers after all.

Only after he left, did Mawmaw tell us, gossipy bitches, what was going on, but at that point, I was more than ready for the day to be over, what with my mom and aunt getting into a fight, me meeting Edward's parents for the first time, and of course, my newly acquired erratic pregnancy hormones… let's just say that my head is now throbbing from all the excitement.

So, I listen to what Mawmaw says, laughing in amusement at what the ladies of the family are saying, before I decide I have had enough.

I then decided to follow the advice Edward had given me earlier and head upstairs to get some rest.

Without telling anyone of where I was going, I quietly made my way up the back porch stairs and into the house. Only stopping in the kitchen to grab myself a few snacks before heading up the stairs.

When I finally reach my room, I slip off my shoes, groaning as I flex my toes, before waddling towards the bed, and sighing in relief as I sit on the mattress.

Slowly sitting on my bed for a moment, enjoying how quiet it is compared to the backyard with all of my family.

Throwing all the snacks on my bed, I then get up and go towards the closet to change out of the dress into a pair of leggings, and a looser shirt, before climbing back into bed and turning on the television to watch my favorite show.

Before I knew it I was lying comfortably on my bed, drifting into. a deep sleep, with a smile on my face. Sometime later I am woken up by someone tapping my shoulder.

"Go away." I mumbled, hugging the pillow closer to my body.

"I would love nothing more than to leave you here resting, but you need to eat, and your grandmothers and mother are asking for you." Edward replied amused.

I groaned, slowly rolling onto my back, as I moved my hair away from my face.

"Tell them I'll be down in a minute." I murmured.

"Are you going to change?" He asked, raising a brow.

"Only my shirt, I feel more comfortable like this." I mumble.

"You look fine to me." He replied as his brow furrowed.

"I know… Don't worry about it…" I whispered, as I slowly crawled off the bed.

I looked over at the time, and realized I had slept longer than I thought, as I pulled on a tank top and a thin cardigan on.

Edward smiled as I slipped on my shoes, and held out my hand to him as I ran a hand through my hair.

He stood up, making his way over to me before quickly taking my hand into his.

"Who's still here?" I asked, as I tried to hold back a yawn.

"Jasper and Alice left earlier, Jane and Dax are here, most of your siblings are still here… Only a few of your cousins and their parents are here too. I can't remember all of their names…" he murmured amused.

"It's alright, I only remember their names because I grew up with them, otherwise they'd all be known as 'hey you!'." I replied, causing him to laugh.

"No kidding." He murmured with a snort.

As we made our way down the stairs, everyone was already spreading blankets on the ground to watch the fireworks.

I must have slept longer than I thought because it was now close to seven, and the fireworks show starts at seven thirty.

Rose smiled as she noticed I had changed, patting the seat next to hers.

I rolled my eyes, but sat down next to her, nonetheless.

As I sat down my mother handed me a plate full of food, giving me a look.

"Don't argue, you need to feed my grandbaby." She said before handing me a can of soda and a bottle of water.

I looked over at Rose, realizing she was laughing at me. "What?" I asked, frowning at her.

"She's right. I've been fed too much these last four hours… It's your turn to be coddled." She said, laughing.

I scoffed before placing the plate on my stomach, and digging in.

I didn't need to be told twice. Food is food. You don't waste food here. It is an unspoken rule within this family.

As I enjoyed the macaroni salad and honey barbecue ribs on my plate, the fireworks began.

I groaned, as I finished scarfing down the food, downing the water, as my mom silently asked me if I wanted anything else.

"More of the macaroni salad. Please." I replied, licking my lips.

"I take it the food is good?" Emmett asked as he took his place on the other side of Rose.

"I take it you're still an ass…" I snipped as Edward sat beside me.

"Woah. Someone has an attitude." Emmett mumbled.

"Leave her alone, Emmett." Edward said, cutting off whatever he was going to say.

"But…" Em began.

"I swear to God if you finish that sentence you'll be sleeping on the back porch." Rosalie growled, turning to stare him down.

"But Rosie…" He began.

"Stop your bickering and watch the damn show…" I finally said, trying to cut him some slack.

After that, we all turned our attention back to the show, enjoying the rest of the fireworks wordlessly.

When the show finished Mawmaw and Memaw sent Rose and I back into the house while everyone else helped clean up what was left of the barbeque.

I had just sat down when Micah and Dax walked in, and sat beside me.

They were uncharacteristically quiet, after they sat, meaning something was up.

I raised a brow, as I waited for them to tell me what was going on.

"Bells…" Dax began.

"Yes?" I asked, turning to look at him with a raised brow.

"How opposed would you be to me and Janey staying here for a week or so?" He asked.

My brow furrowed in confusion. "What's wrong with your apartment?" I asked.

"They're having the building fumigated, and we need to stay out for a week or so." He explained.

"Yeah, that won't be a problem… You two can stay here without a problem, there's more than enough room here." I replied, rubbing my stomach.

"You're a saint. I'll go tell Jane now…" he said, getting up and rushing out of the room.

I waited for him to leave before turning to look at Micah.

"What about you?" I asked, letting out a deep breath.

"Mary and I are both finished with our residency. We are waiting to hear back from the hospital to see if we got the jobs we applied for…" Micah explained.

"Does Mary want to come back here?" I asked, raising a brow.

"Well, her family is here. So are you guys…" He replied with a nod.

I let out a small squeal as I pulled him into a hug. "That's amazing! When are you guys moving back?!" I asked excitedly.

Micah smiled, rubbing the back of his neck, nervously. "Our things should be arriving sometime this week. But our house won't be ready to move into until the beginning of next month…" he explained.

"Ah… So, you two want to stay here too?" I asked.

He tapped his nose, before giving me a nervous smile.

"I don't see why not… I mean, it's only a few weeks, right?" I asked.

"Yeah. Are you sure you don't mind? I mean, we can also ask Mary's family but we know we'd feel more comfortable here." He replied.

"Don't worry… it'll be fine. Besides I'm not working at the moment, I'll need all the entertainment I can get…" I replied laughing as he scoffed and shook his head at me amused.

"Brat. I'll go tell Mary. Thanks, squirt. Love ya." He said as he stood up.

Edward sat down with the plate of salad, handing it to me with a sigh.

"So, it looks like we're going to have some company for a while." I mentioned as I began to dig in, causing Rose and Em to look at me with a raised brow.

"Dax and Jane, also Micah and Mary…" I said it iring their surprised looks.

Just as they began to speak, the fireworks started again effectively shutting them up.

Haha. I love the fourth of July.
