Act Eleven
Later, Hogath talks to his dad in an inmate phone service at the Ottawa Police Department. Owen stands at the door to wait and listen to them.
Kerchak: You wanna tell where you've been?
Hogarth: Well, I was gone to get some Gatorade since I'd know-
Kerchak: [angrily] TELL THE TRUTH!
[five second silence]
Hogarth: [sighs] I was hanging out.
Kerchak: Hanging out… with who?
Hogarth: A friend from school. Look, dad. I've been wanting to tell you for a long time, but you never gave me a chance. I don't want to be in your gang. I just want to live a normal life. And that's why I'm hanging out with her.
Kerchak: It's a "her"?
Hogarth: Look, Dad, no, it's okay, it's okay! She's not that bad at all. She happens to know about-
Kerchak bangs on the table that everyone in the phone service pauses their conversations. Hogarth stares at him in shock.
Kerchak: That gold… was going to be worth all of our troubles… and you throw it away for what? A silly girl! On top of it all… being normal SUCKS!
He leaves the phone service as Hogarth stays there on the verge of tears, knowing his father has disowned him. The sad Hogarth walks away with Owen at his side, exiting the room.
At home, Serena is in the kitchen with Cheetor, Rattrap, and Dinobot in the living room. While working on supper, she is on the phone with someone.
Serena: Good, I'm glad to hear about it too. Yes, bye.
She hangs up on the phone, then she turns to the Maximals.
Serena: That was Owen. He said the airport incident was a terrorist attack. No robots were sighted there, so we're clear.
Rattrap: Anyway, chopperface, I think you're getting ahead of yourself.
Dinobot: I know what I saw. Those newcomers were displaying human emotions. But what's more, they didn't seem to be affected by the Energon surge in the atmosphere.
Cheetor: It might be because you and the other two had more damage than they did, so that might be the case.
Dinobot: You calling me a liar?!
Serena: Guys, guys! Can we just calm down here, and-
[door knocks]
Serena: [whispers] Quick, hide.
In a panic, the Maximals hide in different positions of the house. Cheetor poses as a carpet, Rattrap stuffs himself in the garbage can, and Dinobot freezes to mimic a statue. Serena walks to the door and opens it, revealing to be Hogarth and B'Boom on the porch.
Hogarth: Sorry for interrupting.
Serena: Oh, Hogarth. It's okay, we're clear.
The trio come out of hiding, knowing the coast is clear.
Rattrap: [scoffs] It's just the monkey and his boy.
Later, everyone is sitting down in the living room with supper served by Moses on the coffee table. They begin talking aboutwhat happened earlier today.
Serena: Owen's told us about your father. We're sorry.
Dinobot: Pardon me, but your father was a gang leader?
Hogarth: I'm not like my father. He hates anything normal, so he chose mobbing as a suitable occupation.
B'Boom: It's also one of the reasons why he wanted to spend some time with us back in the manor. Kerchak was putting him through some hardships, Hogarth wanted to just… walk away from it all.
Moses: So what makes you come here?
Hogarth: Those robots. I recognized one of them. His name was Jenkins. He's a member of my father's gang.
Serena: You mean… the Predacons turned a human into a robot?
Rattrap: Oh, for bootin' up cold! You're not gonna listen to an ex-Predacon's advice, are ya?
Serena: We all need answers to know what is happening.
B'Boom: Let's try to focus. But Dinobot, can you add in all the details?
Dinobot: I just might. I know the trio had human emotions, ineffective to an Energon build-up, and they lacked a Cybertronian signature.
The Maximals are thinking hard on the added details, and they widen their optics in finding a solution.
Maximals: Black Energon.
Hogarth: Black Energon? What is that?
Cheetor: An enhanced version of regular Energon. When Black Energon touches anything organic, the host is transformed into machinery.
Dinobot: It's extremely rare. Just like it is for you humans, finding it would be as rare as finding that city made of solid gold in the Amazon.
Rattrap: Well, on the plus side, we could have a second planet of Cybertronians.
Cheetor: Rattrap! You know Black Energon is a bad omen!
But the Maximals realize the two kids are still with them, listening to what they're saying.
B'Boom: We have to go.
Serena: Go where?
B'Boom: Back to base. This is Maximal matter. There are things only Optimus and the others must know.
Serena: But we want to know what it is. What if this Black Energon happens to us?
Cheetor: Hey, it won't. That's what you should count on. In the meantime, you two stay inside for the night.
Realizing that, Serena and Hogarth turn to each other and they look away, blushing.
Hogarth: Um… I could sleep on the couch.
Moses: You don't need to. We have a guest room down the hall. I'm staying here, keeping an eye on you both. Just don't expect any bedtime stories.
Act Twelve
On the Darksyde, Galvatron is consulting with the trio about their attack.
Jetstorm: Hold on. You're saying you guys need beast modes?
Galvatron: Yes. Only to help replenish our health after exposure to the elements this planet's atmosphere holds.
Terrorsaur: But how come you three weren't facing the Energon surge like those Maximals did?
Bazooka: Well, maybe it's because we were humans before.
Crazybolt: Yeah. That might be the case, so we can be robots whenever we feel like it.
Galvatron: Hmmm, interesting notion. With that in mind, I could round as many humans as I can to create an army. Yesss.
Jetstorm: Well, if it's an army you want, I'd know plenty of prisons where you can start.
Galvatron: Oh, you're such an enthusiastic one, Jetstorm. I'm actually glad that you were chosen.
However, Quake and Ravage are both concerned about what's going on. They walk out of the room to the emptied hallway where they can be alone.
Ravage: I don't like this. I don't like it one bit.
Quake: Neither do I. The boss has Black Energon, and it's… a bad omen. We'll do the… you-know-what. It's risky, but it'll have to do.
Ravage: Oh no. When we're discovered, Galvatron will scrap us!
Quake: You mean, "if" we're discovered. [pauses] What? Aren't you gonna…?
Ravage: Nope. Not this time, but we'll do it.
Back in the manor, all the Maximals are gathered together in the drawing room, and they're told about the Black Energon.
Longhorn: So, Black Energon. Now it makes sense.
Rockhopper: But what makes it a bad omen?
Skydive: The part where it's said to be a sign, but what sign?
Optimus: Unicron. That's what it means. The only reason why Black Energon is so rare is because only Unicron has it. It was the same element used when it nearly decimated Cybertron eons ago. When you see Black Energon, it means one thing: Unicron is coming.
Rattrap: But it's just a myth…. Um, is it?
Longhorn: You know, now that I think about it, it makes me wonder why only the Predacons would be in possession of this relic.
Dinobot: However they got it, we must remove it before they weaponize it even further.
Cheetor: I gotta tell ya, big bot. If it's not too late, we could just call Level 3 to ask NASA for their satellites to make confirmations.
Optimus: We won't have time for this. Level 3 is much too busy trying to be hidden at all times. If Unicron is on his way, there's only one thing we must do to stop him. Maximals and Predacons… must work together.
Maximals: [stunned] WHAT!?
Rattrap: Have you blown your circuits?! We already have Dino-Brain with us, so why don't we call his buddies to come over for some oil and cookies?
Dinobot: For once, I agree with the rodent. The Predacons have already made the alliance with the rest of us back on Cybertron, but these are rebels we're talking about. And Galvatron will listen to only himself.
Optimus: He left because he thought everyone was against him. That's why he left to join the Predacons. I'm still going out there to convince him, because he's my brother, and he's family. Right now, it's a race against time. Optimus, maximize!
Optimus transforms to robot mode, and he motions Longhorn to press a button on the wall, which opens the hatch on the ceiling.
Optimus: Prime jets, on!
His wings unfold and his feet fire the rockets, allowing him to fly off into the air.
Act Thirteen
The next morning, Serena and Hogarth are both walking up the driveway to the mansion, and they carry stuffed backpacks full of something.
Serena: Thanks for helping me with the stuff, Hogarth. Um, I hope you weren't getting homesick.
Hogarth: Not really. I only lived in an abandoned gas station. Sleeping on a bed makes me feel so relaxed. I should be thanking you for that.
Sassy: Hey guys, wait up!
The two look back to find Carlos and Sassy trotting up on the porch.
Hogarth: What're you guys doing here?
Carlos: It's Sunday. We've got all the free time we need, but this is NOT what I had in mind.
Sassy: Oh, relax. We'd need to get out more, and I would like to see more of the robots. Maximals, as I recall.
Serena: Yeah, that's right. Let's get in.
Walking inside, the kids enter the main hall where they find Dinobot and Tigatron sparring in action against a hologram of Inferno and Triple Punch, but the simulation ends when they notice the guest.
Tigatron: Hey, wassup?
Serena: We've brought you some food.
Hearing that word, all the Maximal come rushing towards them like hungry animals and Serena begins offering them snacks as Hogarth joins in. But the twins are baffled about robots eating food.
Carlos: Um, robots don't eat, right?
Cheetor: In the beginning, no. We fuel up on Energon.
B'Boom: Or rather we used to, until we gained our beast modes.
Later, the kids are sitting down on the patio out back and they're watching some of the Maximals enjoying their day all over the yard.
Sassy: They're really enjoying themselves. And my brother was thinking they're built to wipe out every natural life.
Carlos: Hey, it was a pretty good hypothesis there. I don't really know these bots, and there's no reason for me to see the bright things over them.
Sassy: Typical Carlos. Always worried about somebody so different. But doesn't he think the Avengers are different.
Carlos: That's a whole different story. The point is, I just don't feel safe with them around me. I mean, what are they here for? Protecting? Rescuing? That's why we have the police and the firemen.
Serena: But Carlos, why? Why do you hate them?
Carlos: [pauses] Uh, no. I never said I hated them. It's just….
Hogarth: Look, dude. You can't just misjudge them so harshly because you don't know everything about them. You have to study their ways of life. That's why you don't judge a book by its cover.
Sassy: But Hogarth, you were in a rush yesterday. Why?
Hogarth is hesitant to say something, but he lets out a sigh.
Hogarth: My dad was at the airport, doing his own way to make money. I was going to warn him about the incident, but then… I saw one of them. A new Predacon, but he was human once.
Carlos: Wait, I don't follow you there. What are you saying?
Serena: He's saying the bad bots have turned humans into robots.
Sassy: [shocked] What?!
Carlos: How the hell can they do that?
Hogarth: Something called Black Energon, but we don't know much about it.
Serena: I think I know where to find out.
The kids are in the library where there's a huge computer screen set up on the wall. Serena presses on the red button, displaying the screen on stand-by, ready for something.
Serena: Computer, define Black Energon.
Computer: Acknowledged. Black Energon: The enhanced version of Energon, allowing it to change organics into metallic, which led to the near-destruction of Cybertron and it has been called a sign of Unicron's arrival soon.
Sassy: Wow. That is amazing. But what is "Cybertron" and "Unicron"?
Hogarth: Cybertron is the Maximals' home planet, but we don't know what Unicron is. Can you search more?
Serena: Define Unicron.
Computer: Unicron: The god of destruction on Cybertron. He and his brother Primus competed with each other for dominance over their home planet, but in the end, Unicron lost as Primus created the Allspark to replenish life once again.
Sassy: "Again"?
Serena: Let me see.
Serena presses on more buttons for answers, and she finds a document on Cybertron's ancient history, but it's written in Cybertronian language. But she's the only one who can read it.
Serena: "Eons ago, Cybertron was a verdant, Earthlike world, populated by a wide variety of organic creatures. Its idyllic period came to an end when Unicron nearly destroyed it with Black Energon. Once Primus defeated his twin, he gave the planet a crystallized heart, the Allspark, to give life another way."
Carlos: How can you read that? It's nearly gibberish.
Serena: I have my own skills.
Sassy: Okay, so we'd know what's going on. The computer is saying an alien god is coming here? If that's true, we gotta tell everyone.
Serena: Sassy, it won't work. If we talk about this, they'll think we're crazy and they'll….
Hogarth: Don't worry. We'll figure something out.
Hogarth placed his hand on Serena's shoulder, comforting her. But Carlos gets jealous of the way he's doing it, so he pushes him away.
Carlos: Personal space. We're talking about the end of the world and you're already making a move on my girl?!
Serena: Your girl? Carlos, what's gotten into you?
Carlos: Well, um…. I was…. What I….
Serena: Carlos, if this is about the prom, stop. If we do make it and that school prom's the only thing we'd have in mind, forget it. Because I won't be interested in going out with you.
Carlos looks at her in shock, heart broken. He walks away, exiting the mansion, but Sassy follows him.
Sassy: Carlos, wait. I'm sorry you're disappointed. But I-
Carlos: Disappointed? No, this is worse! But what do you care about? You're the robot fanatic, not me! Why don't you stick around with them, huh?
Sassy: But you're my brother. You're more important to me than-
Carlos: Hey, stop trying to be like mom! I live on my own terms! My own, understand? Nobody else's, especially you!
Sassy looks at Carlos sadly as he walks on back to the driveway. She turns around and walks back inside, whilst Carlos continues walking down the road on his own.
Act Fourteen
Flying in the air, Optimus searches down below to find a remote location far from any human settlement. He finds a flat mountain top, and lands on it, reverting to beast mode. He presses on his left chest, which beeps on impact.
On the Darksyde, Ransack is handling the main terminal, which it beeps loud and Galvatron comes over to him in beast mode.
Ransack: Maximal detected, Galvatron. ID: Optimus Primal.
Galvatron: Aw, yes. Just what I've been waiting for. Open a spacebridge to those coordinates. Thrashclaw, with me.
Back on Earth, Optimus sits down on a boulder, waiting. He hears a swirling sound, and looks ahead to find a spacebridge portal opening. Going through it are Galvatron and Thrashclaw before the portal closes behind them.
Galvatron: Just what I've been waiting for. You, challenging me one on one. A chance for me to show you what I've got.
Optimus: No, Galvatron. I've signaled you here to warn you. You can't tamper any further with the Black Energon. This has to stop.
Galvatron: Oh, you don't seem to grasp the point. All I've done is simply make more Predacons like the ones I remember, and we only seek an Energon-filled planet for our own.
Optimus: No. You don't grasp it. Unicron is not to be trusted. He's the enemy of all Cybertronians.
Galvatron: At least he and I both know what it means to be betrayed by someone related to us.
Optimus: Betrayed? Is that what I've done to you? When I ended up with the Positron Matrix instead of you? I supported you! I cheered for you! I stood up for you! I never wanted to lead the Maximal Army! All I want is you to come back.
Galvatron: It's too late for that. I'll never be a Maximal again, no! I am a Predacon. Their great leader! And once and for all, your most notorious enemy of all time! Yesss!
Optimus: You can boast about as much as you want, but you can't hide the fact that you were a Maximal, because we are still brothers!
Galvatron: This farce has gone far enough for me. It's time we finish this once and for all, yeesss. Anything you wish to say?
Optimus: I'd say… that's prime.
Galvatron: Less talk, MORE KILL! [roars]
Both leaders charge at each other, remaining in beast mode, and begin fighting each other. Thrashclaw stands by, awaiting further orders. Optimus headlocks on Galvatron to gain the advantage, but the Predacon leader's arms are long enough to scratch his back, which he does to set himself free. Then, Galvatron swings his tail at Optimus, knocking him away to crash hard on a boulder.
Galvatron: Clearly, I have the advantage in both modes. Galvatron, terrorize!
Optimus: Optimus Primal, maximize!
After transforming, the two brothers fight each other with swords clashing together. Galvatron swings his blade down hard for a final blow, but Optimus dodges it and kicks him on the face, disarming him. However, the Predacon leader activates his Heavy Ion Ray Cannons on his hips, and blasts them.
Back on the Darksyde, the Predacons are watching the scene on the main terminal. The trio are cheering for Galvatron.
Crazybolt: Yeah, give him hell, boss!
Bazooka: C'mon! Rip his head off!
Jetstorm: Lovely. I can-
But then, Jetstorm pauses when his optics flashes red and it gives off a whispering sound. He shakes his head, snapping out of it.
Torvo-Octane: Although he was promoted to be a great leader, Optimus Primal never learned the first rule of warfare: Never underestimate your opponent.
Terrorsaur: I do agree to that. Our mighty Galvatron is always so….
But then, he sees a shadow looming over him. By the time he looks back, Bazooka shoots him in the chest with his cannons. Jetstorm and Crazybolt both shoot at the other Predacons, forcing them to flee and Bazooka smashes on the main terminal, causing a reaction with alarms blaring
Computer: Warning. This ship will self-destruct in two cycles.
Terrorsaur: Wait! What is the meaning of this?!
Terrorsaur looks up to find the trio's eyes turning bright red and they shoot at him once more.
Meanwhile, Optimus and Galvatron are still fighting each other. With his cannons, Galvatron starts firing balls at Optimus, hiding behind a boulder. Having his chance, he generates a set of Energon Throwing Stars and throws them one by one at Galvatron. Then as he makes another few and about to throw them, he sees that his brother is gone. Then Galvatron appears from nowhere, grabbing Optimus by his hand and lifts him up. He spins him on his finger before tossing him to the ground.
Galvatron: Simply admit defeat, Optimus. I have won!
Optimus: Not a chance.
Optimus converts his Ion Rifle to its axe, and slashes at Galvatron's chest to make him step back. He grabs onto Galvatron's other firearms on his hips, and pulls them off simultaneously. Galvatron balls up his Scrapmaker Gauntlets to pound him, but Optimus parries every blow to avoid them, then pounds hard on Galvatron's face, nearly knocking him to the edge of the mountain.
Optimus: You're disarmed and outmatched, Galvatron. Surrender while you still can.
Galvatron: No! Not until one of us dies! [whistles]
Thrashclaw gets summoned as she pounces on Optimus, and bites hard on his leg. Despite biting a chunk out of Optimus, Thrashclaw is thrown aside and transforms to slash Optimus with her hooks, finally pinning him down. As the Maximal leader is downed, Galvatron walks over to him.
Optimus: Brother, please. You can't trust him.
Galvatron: It's now over, Primal. I've had ENOUGH of everyone I served with turning on me.
Optimus: You're wrong. I became a soldier… because of you. Everything I fought for was inspired by you. You were my hero. You were everything I wanted to be! You just… threw it away.
Galvatron: Because… you'd never know the truth that compassion can never work on all of your enemies. Like I told you before, I'm never going back.
Unicron's voice: Now this is a sad story I can remember.
Both leaders look around after hearing Unicron's voice in the air, trying to find him.
Galvatron: Unicron?
Unicron's voice: In a manner of speaking.
Galvatron looks at Thrashclaw, noticing she's grinning and has glowing red eyes.
Thrashclaw (Unicron's voice): You know, you should've listened to your brother.
She throws Optimus at Galvatron, knocking them both on the ground. As they both regain their bearings, the trio shows up through a spacebridge portal, also with glowing red eyes.
Bazooka (Unicron's voice): You see, I used the Black Energon to link your experiments….
Crazybolt (Unicron's voice): To my core consciousness.
Jetstorm (Unicron's voice): And it's just the beginning. Soon, the entire universe will be under my control.
Optimus gets creeped out as Unicron's evil laugh is heard in all four of the Predacons.
Galvatron: Galvatron to Darksyde, report to me.
[static sound]
Thrashclaw (Unicron's voice): No one to help you, Galvatron. Your ship has been destroyed. You are now all alone.
All the Predacons open fire at Galvatron, but Optimus bounces the beams with his blade until he gets blasted on him. Bazooka stomps hard on the ground, making the floor crumble, and the two leaders fall down to their deaths.
Thrashclaw (Unicron's voice): And now, the Earth is mine for the taking.
Thrashclaw and the trio evilly laugh in Unicron's voice and run away from the scene. What they don't know, however, is that Optimus grabs hold of the mountainside as he holds onto Galvatron. He climbs down to a ledge, allowing them both to stand there safe and sound.
Galvatron: Why? Why did you save me?
Optimus: That's not how Maximals do things. You know that.
Galvatron: But it matters not. No. Nothing can convince me to go back, not even Convoy if was still alive.
Optimus: I can't. But you can. You double-crossed us. The army, your fellow comrades and me. Your mistake cost me my choice. I would've given it to you when it was passed to me, but left the moment I was about to do so. That mistake could only lead someone further into the dark, and it has. Look at you now.
Galvatron: But I let you keep the Matrix, even if I didn't have the Syndrome anymore. I did that to you!
Optimus: Let me tell you all of the things I've missed in my life because of my promotion. I cannot live in our old house. I can't hang out with my old school buddies, not even… my date. I had to get rid of my favourite toy, and our picture of when we first started school and after you helped me from bullies.
Galvatron is listening to everything Optimus says to him, starting to recall it all.
Optimus: But ever since that day and when you left, there were all the good things that came of it. Humility. Spirituality. Understanding. And then, giving a lonely girl the pleasure of friendship. You've been living in fear of everyone all these years, but I've only been searching for you so I could tell you that I'm sorry.
Optimus opens his chest to reveal the Positron Matrix, and he holds it out to Galvatron, who hesitates as he looks at it.
Galvatron: I've only dreamed I would hear you say something like that.
Optimus: But can you feel the same way as I have? It's never too late to come back… Megatron.
Still hesitant, Galvatron stands by as he looks at the Positron Matrix. After a few seconds of silence, he places his hand on the Matrix, which causes it to glow bright blue.
Act Fifteen
In Roberts Manor, Serena and Hogarth are sitting down, worried, at the patio with Sassy trying to call someone on her phone, but no luck.
Sassy: He's not answering his phone.
Serena: I said something bad to Carlos, didn't I?
Sassy: No, it's not your fault. It's just… he was hoping to ask you out for the prom. All he wanted to know is if-
Suddenly, Rockhopper slides over into the room, interrupting their talk.
Rockhopper: Hey guys, you gonna want to see this!
Everyone is gathered together in the drawing room where Longhorn's terminal shows the broadcast of Unicron's planetoid arriving to Earth.
Reporter: NASA has confirmed the unidentified object to be of alien origin as it showed up out of nowhere. As the world's leaders prepare to launch a ful
Longhorn: It's Unicron.
Rattrap: Now I know this is getting on everyone's nerves, but… we're all gonna die.
Dinobot: Not if we take the fight to him.
Hogarth: Wait, don't we have to think of a strategy before we attack?
Serena: Hogarth, you and Sassy will have to go home. I'm going with them.
Hogarth: What? No. We'd all have to go together.
Longhorn: I'm afraid she can't go. She bears a relic that can help us. We'll be going there while you and Sassy get to safety.
Longhorn presses a button on his terminal to open a spacebridge, but the whole place suddenly gets a blackout. Suddenly, Thrashclaw crashes through the window, making the kids scream in fright, and the mind-controlled Predacon grapples onto Serena, abducting her.
Hogarth: Serena! No!
Hogarth tries to get her, but Thrashclaw knocks him away and runs away out of the manor. She gets picked up by Jetstorm, flying up in the air.
Cheetor: Quick, after them!
All the Maximals rush out of the mansion for the rescue. Hogarth and Sassy are both left behind in the house, baffled about what to do. But Hogarth gets determined as he grabs his skateboard.
Sassy: Wait, what are you doing?
Hogarth: I'm going to save Serena. I can't relax until I know she's safe.
Sassy: But you can't do it with just yourself.
Hogarth: She needs me, and that's that.
Hogarth rushes out of the door and rolls away on his skateboard. Sassy stays at the front door, worried but wondering about what to do.
Meanwhile at Level 3, Snapple is watching the news and Owen enters the room to see it as well.
Anthony: That's it. The cat's out of the bag. Now the world knows about aliens.
Owen: Well, stuff like this was bound to happen eventually, sir. But right now, we must tell the officials at once.
Anthony: How? Can't do anything without exposing ourselves.
Quake: [from behind] Or you can.
Owen and Snapple look behind them to find Quake and Ravage entering the room.
Owen: What the f&%# are you doing here?!
Ravage: Listen up. You're going to need Cybertron's help on this. We have the technology to contact them.
Anthony: What are you saying?
Quake: We're saying we want to help. We like the planet very much, we want to keep it safe.
Anthony: [pauses] Alright. Owen, get every personnel to code red. I Repeat, code red!
Act Sixteen
In the White House, the President's office is quiet until two military officials come in.
Official: Mr. President, we have a situation, sir.
As Unicron arrives closer to the Earth's atmosphere, numerous atomic bombs are launched at the planetoid, but they had no effect on it. Then the planetoid brings out giant metal claws on dual helix chains.
In Ottawa, Thrashclaw and Jetstorm both arrive at Parliament building with Serena in hostage and the other two Predacons standing at the doorway. They are together on the ground, and the bots all project a holographic image of Unicron's face hovering in the air.
Unicron: Humans of Earth, you are all doomed today. This day is the end of your world as it was destined to be. As of this moment, all of you will be erased from existence and none of you will be remembered. The beginning… of the end.
Once the holograms shut down, the claws fire heat rays that are shined everywhere on the planet, igniting most of the electronics to explode one by one. One claw fires at a mountain, which changes into a massive golem, and more of them appear to destroy the cities.
Back in Ottawa, Serena tries to break free from being wrapped in chains, then Thrashclaw takes Voltrix's talisman form from her.
Serena: Hey, that's mine!
Jetstorm arrives and jabs his needle into Serena like a syringe, sucking out a bright blue substance out of her.
Thrashclaw (Unicron's voice): Have it ready for me. I'll be wanting it soon.
And then, all the Maximals march onto the field and they transform together with their weapons ready.
Jetstorm: Well, well, well. Looks like what we have here is an unlawful assembly.
Bazooka: That's what it looks like.
Crazybolt: I'm afraid we're going to have to take you all—in pieces!
The enslaved Predacons begin to open fire as the Maximals fire back at them. But then, a few towering golems arrive to join in the fray, attacking the Maximals.
In the meantime, Hogarth is rolling on his skateboard down on Bank street, having a determined look on his face. Unbeknownst to him, a helicopter is filming him from above.
At the prison, Kerchak's roommates are watching the TV while Kerchak is sitting down by himself, and he hears the sound from behind.
Kerchak: What're you watchin'? Turn it down, would ya? [pauses] Yo, didn't ya hear me? I just said-
Kerchak walks over to handle it himself, but he notices Hogarth is broadcasting on TV as he rolls down on his skateboard. He looks at his kid in awe, then he grows a smile on his face.
Kerchak: Hogarth? [pleased] That's Hogarth! That's my kid!
But his smile fades in realization, and he looks out the window with a view of downtown Ottawa to find out his kid is out there. Kerchak builds up his strength, and he rattles on the bars until they break free for him to escape. A few policemen rush into the cell, but only to find Kerchak riding on a city bus.
Kerchak: Sorry guys, but I've got to see my kid!
The police look at it in awe as the inmates cheer wildly for him.
Meanwhile, school buses are loading up civilians at the suburban side to get the people evacuated.
Man: C'mon, hurry up! We're shovin' off here!
Carlos arrives to the evacuation bus with his backpack, ready to leave, until he hears Sassy's call for him.
Sassy: Carlos!
Carlos: Sassy?
Carlos looks back, finding out it is his sister rushing over to him.
Sassy: Serena's in trouble! She needs help!
Carlos: What does she need me for when she's got friends like Hogarth?
Sassy: He's going there too.
Carlos: Good! He's finally learned something.
Sassy: Look, this isn't about you or just one of them, it's about everyone. Her and the rest of us. If you don't help him now, Carlos, then Serena dies!
He is about to get on the bus, until Carlos stops as he looks stunned.
Act Seventeen
Back in the battle area, the Maximals are still fighting Unicron's servants.
Rattap folds up his legs to use his wheels, then he rolls down in a charge at the golems, having them fly in the air.
Rattrap: 'Scuse me. Pardon me. Comin' through. Hotstuff.
B'Boom fires his Monkey Launcher at Crazybolt, then carries a stick as he lets out a battle scream. As a bit of comic relief, B'Boom is fighting in kung-fu "B-movie" style, complete with cheesy sound effects.
In the meantime, Serena is struggling to break free from her chains, then she notices Moses climbing up on her and biting on the chains like they were paper.
Serena: Moses.
Moses: You still wanna fight with us, kid?
Serena: I need the talisman.
Moses manages to free Serena, but they both look back to find Thrashclaw snarling at them, ready to strike. When she is about to attack them, Dinobot pounces on her and the two of them fight. Dinobot jumps on her, takes out his Rotary Scythe Shield, and uses it to cut off her head like a saw blade.
During the fight, Cheetor and Tigatron are both fighting against Bazooka, but he is proven to be too much for them to handle with his brute strength.
Cheetor: Have anything to say, Tigatron?
Tigatron: Yeah, sure. Being on Earth was the best thing of my stellar lifetime.
All of a sudden, when Bazooka is about to smash on the two cats, a small spacecraft appears overhead and Torvo-Octane jumps out with his Dragontooth Sword-axe, slashing both arms of the brute. And then, Sharpshot and Ransack all exit the craft to join in the fight.
Torvo-Octane: Listen well. Our factions, Maximal and Predacon, no longer matter. Not while Unicron lives. We must work together to stop him.
Longhorn: Sounds good to me.
Now with Predacons joining in, all of the Transformers are able to fight on against Unicron's minions. Crazybolt fires his Pyro Blaster at Tigatron, who blocks it with his board, then Sharpshot electrifies Crazybolt with his electric ability until he explodes into pieces.
Bazooka, with his arms cut off, fires his cannons at Nightglider, who uses her Red Sword to absorb the energy. She then uses the energy to redirect it back to Bazooka. Rockhopper makes Bazooka step on her and slips like he was on a banana peel, then he falls over onto a tanker truck, which explodes and it kills him.
As the battle moves on, Serena is able to reclaim the talisman from Thrashclaw's corpse, and it changes into its sword form.
Serena: Okay, now I can- [screams]
She sees Jetstorm flying towards her, which makes her scream, but she parries with the sword to save herself. But Jetstorm grabs both her arms, freeing himself, and about to pierce her with his needle. However Sam Hogarth arrives to jump off his board, and sticks a large nail into Jetstorm's optic, partially and painfully blinding the Predacon.
Jetstorm: AHHH! NOT THE FACE!
Jetstorm flailed around in pain, letting go of Serena and causing Hogarth to fly back down to the ground. Now free, Serena takes the sword to pierce it into Jetstorm's face, fully blinding him. Jetstorm begins losing it, screaming in pain and panic as he tries scraping it out of his eye on the ground. Hogarth attempts to free Serena from her holding onto the sword, but the panicked Jetstorm flies up to the top of a nearby building, taking them both with him.
Serena: Hogarth, let go!
Hogarth: Not in your life!
As Jetstorm is about to kill them both, Voltrix electrocutes him, blowing his head and chest apart. His lifeless body falls to the ground in pieces while Hogarth and Serena land on the ground. But Serena looks down to find the spilled blue substance Jetstorm got out of her, and Moses looks at it in shock.
Serena: Moses. Is that?
Moses: It was. This was the speck of the Allspark inherited by your ancestors since Alistair Drummond. Without it, you have no power.
Hogarth: But she still has the sword, right?
But they are interrupted when a golem arrives with a log, ready to hit them all hard.
Sassy: Hey, asshole!
When the golem looks to his side, Sassy burns the it's face with a burning stick, saving his friends. While the golem is yelling, Carlos comes in with a rope to tie up its legs and the golem falls off a cliff to his death.
Serena: Carlos! Sassy! You guys are my heroes!
Carlos: Actually, make Sassy the hero, but she needed my muscle to do the heavy work.
Sassy: Whatever. [chuckles]
The Maximals and Predacons are all fighting together against the golems, but the golems suddenly stop for some reason. The humans rush over to the robots' aid, equally baffled about what's going on. A beam of light from the planetoid shines on the ground, and Unicron goes down with his back attached to a long waldo where he can face all the Cybertronians.
Unicron: It's useless. You all fought bravely, worthy as highly capable warriors, but now… it is finished. Surrender, and your deaths will be painless.
Dinobot: We will not go with great dishonour.
Torvo-Octane: For once, I agree.
Unicron: Then… it's your loss.
Suddenly, a huge beam of energy hits hard on Unicron, which causes the golems to degenerate back into rocks. Everyone looks back in awe at the top of the West Building where there's a veil of smoke on the roof. The smoke fades away to reveal Optimus and Galvatron both holding onto the Positron Matrix in one hand each.
Optimus: Well that's just prime.
Cheetor: Big bot!
Sharpshot: And Galvatron? Together?
Longhorn: Yes. He did it.
Galvatron: We have seen it. Unicron is causing a chain reaction which will rip this planet to atoms, and destroy all traces of them. Simply to deal with us. Such sheer ruthlessness, such disregard for sentient life…. I rather like his style. But now is not the best time to gloat.
Unicron: Fools! No one can defeat me! Primus had the power to stop me, and now… he's gone.
One of Unicron's claws shines at the ground to summon more golems bigger and stronger than the last ones, and there're more of them. Optimus and Galvatron both come over to the others, ready for battle.
Cheetor: Big bot, is there a plan?
Optimus: There is, Cheetor. We must disconnect Unicron to his planetoid before he destroys the planet. Without it, he'll be vulnerable.
Galvatron: Good plan, but how? When we are outnumbered?
Just then, a spacebridge portal begins to form behind them. Everyone looks behind to see the portal. Three figures step through; Ultra Magnus, Snarl and Silverbolt, ready to fight. As they approach, dozens more portals open up all around the battlefield. Through one of these, Quake and Ravage arrive joined by Wolfang and Waspinator. Everyone watches in confusion and awe as more and more allies arrive from both Earth and Cybertron, all backed up with forces of their own including the former members of M.A.R.S., Dino Tyrannus and the Dino-Knights, the Elite Guard and several Cybertronian ships. Nearly every hero from the past has magically been transported to the battlefield to face Unicron's hordes.
Ravage: Is that everyone?
Quake: What, you wanted more?
Optimus: Just one. Both of us.
Optimus & Galvatron: Unite as Omega Prime!
The two leaders leap in the air and combine as one. Galvatron forms the gauntlet and lower body parts on Optimus, who changes to the upper parts, and he forms the head. They are now Omega Prime as he lands on the ground.
Omega: All units… roll out!
Act Eighteen
The Predacons make battle cries, and the heroes charge. Unicron points his finger towards them, commanding his army to charge as well. Then both sides collide. Moses jumps on Omega's arm to form his sword mode, and he flies in the air to blast a beam of energy from his chest at Unicron, who blocks it with his cape.
During the fight, everyone in the building watches the scene in awe, and they start cheering for them. A few M.A.R.S. soldiers, led by Greg Oswalt, pry open the jammed door to let the people out.
Greg: Right this way, hurry! Travis, go inside.
Travis: You got it!
On Parliament Hill, Serena is leading her friends out of the battlefield for safety, until a golem blocks their path. But with Voltrix, she slashed it in half, right before Longhorn rams into it.
Sassy: Serena, where do we go?
But Serena looks lost around here. She looks from one side to another.
Serena: I don't know. I'm lost! My gift is gone!
Hogarth: Relax! We just need some help!
Then, a golem blocks their path. With Voltrix, Serena slashes it in half, but it recovers instantly. Just then, the golem is tackled. It hits its head against the wall and is knocked out. The kids see that Kerchak attacked the golem.
Kerchak: Keep your hands off my son!
Hogarth: Dad?
With that done, Kerchak hugs on Hogarth like he's worried for him.
Kerchak: Hogarth, my boy! I got you!
Hogarth: You saved us. But I thought you disowned me.
Kerchak: So did I. But I was wrong. I was so wrong.
Carlos looks behind him to find the battlefield, then he sees Unicron's waldo connected to him. He thinks hard on what to do, and he gets an idea, so he swipes Voltrix out of Serena's hand before running off.
Serena: Carlos! Come back! Carlos!
Unicron keeps blocking every blow from Omega Prime, but he notices Carlos running to him and the Blade of Iacon in his grasp, much to his horror.
Unicron: Stop him!
Two golems growl as one of them is about to grab Carlos, but it slips and falls on the floor. Carlos steps on the golem's head which causes it to groan in pain. He climbs up to its rear end and then he jumps up and flies to Unicron with Voltrix in hand.
Unicron motions his hand and a claw stretches down, grabbing Carlos to stop him. Carlos throws the sword like a spear and it jabs into Unicron's connecting waldo, short circuiting.
Unicron: No! [roars in agony]
Feeling all the pain, Unicron gets electrocuted until he's forced to be disconnected from his waldo, and the entire planetoid is deactivated, saving the world from its heat wave. All of the golems are degenerating, ending the battlefield.
Omega: It's over, Unicron. No matter how much you destroy, life always finds a way, and we are a part of it.
Unicron raises his hand, and unleashes a streak of lightning at Omega, who blocks it with Moses's blade, but it disarms him, and blows him back. As Omega regains his bearings, he finds Voltrix is its talisman form on the ground.
Omega: The blade.
Inside his head are the spirits of Optimus and Galvatron floating side by side in the darkness.
Galvatron: We must use Voltrix, yes.
Optimus: Even if we use it, it won't hold enough power to finish off Unicron.
Galvatron: But… the Matrix can. If we combine both artefacts, we can have a chance to end him.
Optimus: Galvatron, it's suicide. The Positron Matrix contains raw power. If it was weaponized, it would extinguished the user's spark.
Galvatron: Are you forgetting something? Omega Prime has two. With that, we may have a chance to survive. Shall we, brother?
Optimus: [pauses] Alright. We'll do it.
Omega grabs the talisman, converting to its sword form, then he pulls out the Positron Matrix, merging them both together. With the two artefacts combined, they become a massive broadsword with a glowing blue hue and a long spear-like handle.
Omega: Today, we light… our darkest hour.
He points the combined sword at Unicron, and it fires a powerful beam of energy, cascading him violently back to the planetoid.
Unicron: NOOOO! IT'S MY DESTINY! YOU CAN'T RUIN MY DESTINY!
Unicron flies and hits hard on impact at the planetoid, then it crumbles up into pieces as it cascades deep into space until it explodes in a supernova matter.
Act Nineteen
With Unicron defeated, everyone cheers for success. There's even cheering from the audience who saw it all up close.
Waspinator: Waspinator good to be good.
For Serena with her friends, they begin looking for Carlos and they find him pinned down by debris. They try to pry it open, then Longhorn comes over to lift it off, helping him up.
Sassy: Carlos, are you alright?
Carlos: Yeah. I'm okay. Man, that was freakin' epic.
Serena: Carlos, what you did was insane. But… you really helped us. And after you said the robots couldn't be trusted.
Carlos: Well, you'd be surprised what people would say… when they're mistaken.
Kerchak comes over to Hogarth's side, patting on his shoulder.
Kerchak: Son, I've seen it all. I'm so proud of you.
Hogarth: I…. I don't know what to say.
Serena: Hogarth?
Serena walks over to check on him, and when Kerchak sees her, he smiles proudly and pats on her shoulder.
Kerchak: So you're the girl my son's been talking about.
Serena: And you're his father.
Kerchak: You know, he never told me how pretty you are. My boy must be so lucky to get a good catch.
Serena: [flattered] Oh, stop.
Kerchak: Anyway, I should go back. They'll be wondering where I am. Um… you'll visit me though, yeah.
Hogarth: Yeah, sure, dad.
With one more smile at his son, Kerchak salutes to them and he runs off going back to prison.
The Maximals and Predacons crowd around Omega Prime for his victory, and he changes back to Optimus and Galvatron. But then, Galvatron falls down to his knees and collapses with Optimus aiding him. Optimus presses on his brother's chest to reveal a fading spark.
Galvatron: I guess… I was wrong… about the Matrix.
Optimus: You used all of your energy. It was meant for me.
Galvatron: No. You were meant to lead the Maximals. That's why you were chosen. You are more important than me. All these years wasted fighting each other… to prove myself worthy the wrong way. Yes.
Feeling emotional, Optimus holds onto Galvatron's hand, grasping it.
Optimus: I just got you back. But now… I feel like I'm losing you again.
Galvatron: I won't be gone. I… will always be with you in the Matrix, just like… everyone we knew and held most… dear.
With that, the proud warrior's Predacon insignia changes back to a Maximal's, and he dies. Optimus leads the others in a salute as Galvatron's spark leaves his body and off to the stars.
Optimus: He lived a warrior… and died a Maximal hero. Let his spark join the Matrix, the greatest of Cybertron.
A few days later, Owen and Anthony are at Level 3 together. In TV news montages about the Beast Wars, they see various reports of what happened in the battle. Some people agree that the robots did good, protecting the city. Others believe it was their cause.
Owen: Looks like the cat's out of the bag.
Anthony: Well, not likely. The government hasn't told anyone about Level 3, so we're clear. And what it's worth, we're glad that we all made it. But now the world knows about them, what's next?
Owen: Take my word, sir. The Beast Wars are over, and both factions are one.
In the meantime, Ridgemont High is live with the prom starting and there's a dance on the football field. The music is playing and the couples are dancing together. Serena enters in a pink dress, and walking with him is Hogarth in a suit. When they both come in, they start waltzing like a couple.
At the punch stand, Carlos is just standing there to watch them both dancing, and he looks sad for not going there. Then, Sassy comes over to his side.
Sassy: Still heartbroken?
Carlos: Not really. I was just disappointed. I thought I could be her type, but… it's Hogarth she's into, and if she's happy with it, then so am I.
Sassy: Well, there's no point if you just stand there. You should go dance with someone. Look, there's Melissa.
Carlos looks to his side, finding a timid-looking girl, Melissa, standing at the opposite side of the table. Thinking of having his chance, he walks over to her, which makes her notice him.
Carlos: You alone here?
Melissa: Yes. No one seems to be interested in me.
Carlos: Well… how about we dance?
Pleased, Melissa smiles and he waltzes with Carlos on the dance floor, while Sassy smiles with glee for his brother.
[music scratch]
DJ: Hold on. Folks, it looks like… we have company.
Out of nowhere, Optimus and his team enter the place with their arms up and everyone on the dance floor cheers and applause for them. Optimus walks on stage to give an announcement.
Optimus: Attention, everyone. We come bearing gifts, and to remind you all that we will always be at your side.
Cheetor: And we'd like to join in on the party, all giving thanks to our two ambassadors: Serena Hansen and Hogarth Beauregarde.
Serena and Hogarth gasp in joy, as everyone cheers and applause. Then, Tigatron plays the DJ and sings "I'm a Believer" with everyone dancing. The rest of the Maximals join in to the party, also dancing with the teens.
Hogarth: Ambassadors. I like the sound of it.
Serena: Yeah? I think so….
But Serena and Hogarth both pause as they make eye contact, and they share a kiss. The Maximals watch in awe and pride.
Rattrap: Well, so it's the Hogarth kid she likes after all.
Cheetor: If Lori was here, she'd be so happy to shed tears.
Rockhopper: Aw, lighten up! Take your spark for iron… like me! [cries]
B'Boom: Aw. She'd better take good care of our boy.
Optimus: If he takes care of our kid. [chuckles]
The prom keeps playing at night with everyone enjoying it together.
"The deity we've feared the most has been vanquished for good. It was done not by our factions, but by the unity we've formed with our enemies and our allies who counted on us, including the one I called my brother. It was when we kept our friends close, and our enemies closer. I am Optimus Primal, and I send this message to anyone who can archive it. For that day was a day… to remember."
The End
