Bridget awoke to the darkness, except for the light of the digital numbers on her alarm clock.
'3:52'
Bridget sighed and sat up. She had just awoken from a dream. A nightmare? Not to anyone but her. She had been dreaming of her and Eric…but Eric had somehow morphed into someone else. They had been walking down a beach – one in Baja – when he magically turned into someone else. This someone was a guy in Bridget's Drama class. She had no reason why he was in her dream – they had barely spoken two words.
She rubbed her eyes and hoisted herself out of bed. She wandered down the hall, feeling her way along. She walked down the stairs, almost falling along the way. When she got to the bottom, she went to the kitchen. Maggie, her golden retriever, heard her and proceeded to get up and start licking Bridget's feet.
"MAGGIE!" whispered Bridget, shocked. Maggie yelped. Bridget patted her and rubbed her back to silence her. Once the Maggie Situation was under control, Bridget went to the fridge and got out some juice. She then poured herself a glass of it and went back upstairs.

The next morning, Bridget told Perry that she was going for a run and left. As she was jogging along, listening to her iPod, she saw the guy from her dream. His name was Mark and he was fairly tall. He was walking down the sidewalk, coming towards Bridget. She could tell that she was going to do something flirty, but that was just natural for her. As she ran closer to him, she looked him right in the eye and smiled at him. He smiled back. She slowed down and stopped the music on her iPod.
"Hey," she said, "you look familiar."
"Yeah. I'm in your Drama class."
"Oh! Yeah," she started to smile again, "how come we've never talked before?"
"I dunno," he said, "I guess we've never really had anything to talk about." She laughed.
"Well, I guess we'll have to start talking. By the way, I'm Bridget Vreeland."
"I'm Mark Matthews."
"Very nice to meet you now, Mark." She held out her hand, and he shook it. She giggled and pushed her hair out of her face.
"Well, I've got to finish my run. I'll see you around, Mark."
"See you later." He smiled and she smiled back. She started to walk away, happy that she had made a new friend. Or maybe, more.
