When she landed on the roof of the mansion in City X, Saitama and Fumio separated from her to watch her fans reform into the sets of ten. Siren was quick to show up to hug them and report what she found.
"Metal Knight told me everything," Siren frowned. "I thought you were gonna be here tomorrow. But after this crap?! Yeah. I want it done, too!"
"Did you find anything?" Saitama asked her.
"There's a locked wall safe in the master bedroom. It's not mechanical, so Metal Knight can't crack it. We could drill it, but…" Siren frowned.
"I know that safe," Mitsumi said. "Take me to it?"
"Okay!" Siren nodded and waved at Wind Crane when she landed on the roof next. Saitama kept Mitsumi close and kept a hand on her belly. Wind Crane noticed it, but made no comment at all.
"You've kept your hand on my belly most of the time now," Mitsumi said and turned to put her arms around Saitama's neck.
"I know. I'm just protective of things. Not sure why. Not gonna question it. Let's check out the master bedroom," Saitama said.
"Oh. Um…" Siren paused and looked away. "Don't look under the bed…"
"Why?" Saitama asked now.
"Don't let Lady Mitsumi look under the bed. Please…" Siren cringed.
"Does it deal with a crate?" Saitama asked lightly.
"Not really…" she swallowed.
"Will it hurt me?" Mitsumi asked.
"Until it's looked at by Saitama…don't look in there…" Siren grimaced and hugged her tight. Saitama now saw Zenchu and Garou walking over to show they were ready to help. Genos and Kamiko were brought over by Inichi, and now the blue monster stared at Siren from her mental report.
"Lady Mitsumi, I refuse to let you enter that bedroom until it is dealt with!" Inichi said sternly.
"What is it?" Genos asked.
"A refrigerator is under that bed. You can only guess what it houses…" Inichi said in warning.
"CRAP!" Saitama seethed out and everyone took a step back from the power that exploded from him in his anger. Mitsumi was the only one unaffected, and she looked at Saitama with complete concern.
"Love. You're glowing," she said softly. "Fumio is scared."
"Fumio…I won't hurt you. I'm just…pissed at this," Saitama said.
"I know, Dad. I'll stay with Wind Crane. Go help Mom!" Fumio said with a stern nod and got ruffle of his hair from his dad in response. Saitama scooped up Mitsumi now and rushed her into the mansion rooftop entrance. Her fans were swirling around them protectively and guided them to where they had to go.
"The fans…they can sense me…" Mitsumi cringed.
"Hush. I'll take care of it," he grunted while rushing through the long hallways. "And if they can find other areas that has your parts, then we can use them to help get rid of it all."
"Keeping up?!" Zenchu asked Garou while he shadow phased easily.
"Not a problem!" Garou growled and leapt along the walls and floor to keep up with their speed. They ended up on the fourth floor that had a single doorway in the middle of a hall of windows. Saitama was able to open it, as Siren had already picked the lock. They now stared at a full floor of something that was easily the largest bedroom retreat they had ever seen. The bed was in the center of the room, and Mitsumi was set down.
"I know how to get to the refrigerator. Father would sneak me in here to get ice cream with me on some nights," Mitsumi smiled softly. Genos was now walking over to show he was there to record, but Saitama gave a warning sign.
"Don't record anything. This is not for the association to know. It's personal. When Mitsumi and I are dressed in clan garb, it's all us. No one else," Saitama said. Genos nodded and now stood there to show his support.
"Here," Mitsumi said and pulled a small cushion off the edge of the bed railing to reveal a touchpad. "Hmm. It's already unlocked. Might have been from Siren and Metal Knight. Okay…"
"What is this bed made of?" Saitama asked. The bed was massive, twelve feet long and filled with luxurious silk cushioning and pillows. The mattress even looked like it could have easily rivaled the texture of a cloud, and Saitama already knew he'd want the same thing in his treasure bed when the memory foam worked with perfection to his slightest touch. The bed frame, itself, appeared to be made of solid gold.
"The frame is gold. The rest is silks and such," Mitsumi shrugged.
"This is a gold bed?!" Saitama asked.
"Yes…" she blushed softly.
"Wow…" Garou asked.
"Impressive," Zenchu grinned.
"We need one. We can fill the main part up with treasure! I like this mattress, too. I'm sure we can do something fun with that!" Saitama grinned with a form of childish delight.
"Dear, we have a bed made of treasure. Ours is worth far more. But, if you really want this as a way to spoil you…I might consider it," Mitsumi reminded Saitama with a small chuckle and activated the bed to move back on a steel platform that was designed to hold the bed with no issues. Then a small, laboratory grade refrigerator came up with a set of clear glass doors. Genos was quick to scan the contents and darted in front of Mitsumi to pull her away and shield her from the sight.
"Genos?!" Saitama asked.
"Master! Look!" Genos said quickly to keep shielding Mitsumi's eyes.
"Is it easy to replace this?" Saitama asked in a rather quiet tone. Mitsumi knew he was filled with rage.
"Not really…" Mitsumi cringed.
"I got her," Garou said and moved to take Genos's place. "You work with Zenchu to remove the stuff in there."
"How much…?" she asked weakly.
"It appears to be three full days' worth," Genos muttered out. Inichi was soon in the room to help transport everything, and Garou had Mitsumi hide her face in his arms to keep from seeing it.
"You're right, Lady Mitsumi. You're absolutely right," Garou muttered in her ear. "I had no…fucking…idea…what true evil…really was…"
"Now you've seen what it is. With your own eyes," Mitsumi shivered. "All of that…it's me. Harvested by the days I was…well…you saw the visions. If I saw all of that now…I'd be getting sick. In complete hysterics. Unable to do anything. It happened before."
"You're not seeing a fucking thing," Garou muttered and continued to shield her protectively. How dare anyone do this to my little sister! How fucking dare they! I'll rip anyone to pieces if they try this again!
"Garou. I need her back now," Saitama said. Garou nodded and actually reached out to grab his hand to shake it.
"I'll make sure it's gone," Garou said and gave Mitsumi over.
"I knew you'd make a good hero," Saitama chuckled.
"Nah. I'll be her older brother and a pain in Zenchu's ass," Garou grinned wickedly. At her soft giggle, he chuckled.
"I tend to pick on Zenchu to make her laugh. It's the only time he's fine with it. Maybe we can both tag team him and kick him?" Saitama mused. Garou rose a brow and grinned.
"I'll take you up on that! As his brother, it would only be best!" Garou snickered out and started to move to help destroy the items found.
"Garou, if you see Bane out there, you are to come straight back to me. If he chases you, then fine. I insist," Mitsumi said. "There is a chance he may be here."
"Yes. I understand," Garou nodded and squeezed her arm lightly before darting off to help with the destruction. The moment she was fully in Saitama's arms, her fans came out to shield her from the sight of everything.
"Tacki is in here. She's cleaning," Saitama said from what he now easily heard. "She's pissed like the rest of us."
"I'm scared of what's in the wall safe now…" Mitsumi admitted and got squeezed with complete comfort. "If there was…so much in the refrigerator…"
"I know. We'll check it out," Saitama said.
"Lady Mitsumi!" Garou shouted and ran back into the room. The fans were quick to separate to reveal her for him to run to. She turned and moved swiftly in front of him to block Bane from rushing at him. Saitama even pulled Garou behind him to ensure nothing would happen.
"STOP!" she said in a loud, stern voice to make Bane stare at her with shock. The fans swirled protectively around her, Garou and Saitama now. "He has awoken. He's not the same one you know of now. He's my older brother. He is just like Zenchu. You are to hold no more ill towards him."
"I see…" Bane said.
"It's true. He vowed to be her older brother just earlier today, actually," Saitama shrugged. "I'm fine with it."
"I told him to run back to me if you confronted him," Mitsumi nodded.
"Oh. I just wanted to ask what he was doing here. He ran off. I chased him here," Bane sighed. "You're sure he's…good?"
"He wouldn't be here if he wasn't," Mitsumi nodded again.
"Garou!" Fumio said when he ran in and the fans made way for him. "We're planning to go fishing tomorrow! You gonna join us?"
"Sure!" Garou chuckled and accepted the hug. He knew why Fumio did this, too, and he was thoroughly enjoying watching his prior master fumbling over himself with disbelief. Bane just blinked at this and found himself sighing.
"I see. Well…" Bane frowned.
"Hey," Kamikaze said when he walked in. "He's fine now. He lives above me. I was gonna tell you, but you ran off after him."
"Oh! I was thinking of going to live on the second floor. I just hadn't made it official. I could take the other corner, then," Bane said with a smile.
"What?" Garou blinked at him.
"Hush," Mitsumi said. "If anything goes wrong, you come to me. Even in my apartment if I'm resting. Okay?"
"Lady Mitsumi. Thank you," Garou said and now got hugged by her.
"It's okay now," she smiled and nodded to him. "I need to get into a wall safe. I don't know what's in it. I know the code, though. Be with us?"
"Yeah," Garou nodded. Then he looked at Bane. "Really, Old Man? My floor? Why?"
"Why not? It's a nice view," Bane chuckled.
"Easy, Garou. Let the wound heal. Help me with my fresh one," Mitsumi said with a sad smile. He cringed and nodded.
"The fancy fridge is clean," Tacki said. "Orotsu has been going through every square inch of the kitchen with Suiryu. We found…well…Genos is busy. He'll be back up here after it's done. He's really quick."
"I see. It's a big kitchen…" Mitsumi sighed.
"And we found all of that crappy pet food!" Tacki hissed out. "Oh! It makes me so mad!"
"Hey," Kamikaze said and scooped her up to cradle her. "We're fixing it up and forcing Daiki to help. We're taking care of it."
"I mean…it's like…like…everything we read about…everything we were told…we're seeing it! We're witnessing it! I just…" Tacki continued to rail out.
"I know," Kamikaze said and soothed her with a rub to her back. "It's some scary shit. I agree. But just arguing over it won't fix it."
"Fumio, I want you to go help Orotsu, okay? I don't know what we're going to find here, and you need to be kept safe," Saitama told his son.
"Okay, Dad. If we find anything else, I'll tell Inichi," Fumio said and darted off to help Orotsu in the kitchen.
"Hey!" Siren said when she flew in.
"Miss Mitsumi!" Metal Knight said from the ring. "I watched through the cameras of the destruction that was done. I was very shocked on what was discovered, too. I am curious of what's in the wall safe."
"Metal Knight, a small favor," Mitsumi said. "The refrigerator in this room is the best of any form of technology. Can you replicate it for Neutral Grounds? Even my home apartment?"
"Oh! Definitely! If Genos can scan it and send me the details, I can see what I can do. I know your family had some intense technology. I even hinted that I would pay quite a bit to see some of it!" Metal Knight said eagerly.
"I don't mind sharing such things with you as long as it will benefit and not harm. You know how it should be," Mitsumi said. Saitama watched Siren pull back a portion of elegant wall paper to show it was a cleverly hidden door. The safe was an actual door in the wall along a side of the room.
"Do you know what's in this room?" Saitama asked.
"I do. But I don't know what's been added," she said carefully. Saitama glanced away and nodded to show he was ready. She moved to the safe and gently worked the combination to open the door. When the light sensors came on, Saitama's jaw dropped at the sheer amount of wealth that littered the place.
"It's…like ours…!" Saitama said.
"Yeah," she chuckled. "It's why I…was indifferent to what we had laying around. I saw it all the time. That is, when Father brought me in here to get me used to seeing it. He wanted me to be numb to it…"
"This is crazy," Zombieman said from where he stood behind them all.
"I only saw this place once," Himiko whispered.
"But…that's new…" Mitsumi said and pointed to an oak cabinet with intricate gold relief near the far back wall along the false wall.
"Interesting! I was wondering why the space was so compromised according to the measurement of the building to the room! This is a true treasure vault hidden in the master bedroom!" Genos said when he was able to appear. "A completely walled off section!"
"Wow…" Garou moved to pick up a gold brick.
"We have this same thing under our home. Tons of them, actually. And made up of my bed in my bedroom at home," Mitsumi smiled. Garou stared at her with shock. "If you ever need any of it, please help yourself."
"Ah…you weren't kidding when you said you could buy anything!" Garou said with shock. She laughed softly and threw a wad of cash at him for him to catch with a form of pleasant surprise.
"Mitsumi! You knew the code?!" Daiki gaped at the exposed room.
"I did. Father shared it with me. As nice as this place is, I never cared for it. He shielded me from greed. He wanted me know the truth about money," Mitsumi said and sat on a plush chair while Saitama moved to the cabinet to open it with Genos. Inside it, Saitama saw what was in it. He rushed back to Mitsumi's side to shield her and he hissed.
"Destroy that! Now!" Saitama ordered.
"Master! Is this her…?!" Genos said with shock.
"What is it?" Mitsumi asked softly. Saitama moved to rest a hand over her belly to show what major organ it was. She gasped. My womb?! Why?!
"It's clearly dead. But…why would it be stored here?!" Inichi fumed on seeing it. "Regardless, this will be destroyed. Right now."
"It's like…they just hid pieces of her everywhere. Like a fucking Easter egg hunt!" Zenchu fumed. When he looked at Daiki, the man was sitting on the ground with his head in his hands.
"I didn't know about this," Daiki admitted. "That thing blinded us."
"Zombieman…I can't…" Himiko said and put a hand to her mouth in pure shame. He was quick to lift her up in his arms and carry her out of the room to comfort her. He knew she was still trying to forgive herself of what she let herself do. He didn't want her to be around anything now until it was all cleared out.
"I'd have Atsuko see this, but…" Mitsumi started.
"No. She doesn't deserve to see anything," Saitama muttered. He saw how the fans now moved to smack into another wall. Then they did morse code.
"Master! It's a false wall!" Genos said on getting the message. Saitama now moved with Mitsumi and put his hand over it to feel through his black gloves.
"I don't know this," Mitsumi admitted. Saitama saw Tacki jump over to examine it and found a false gem in the wall. She pushed it and squeaked when Kamikaze hauled her back when it slid open.
"My Mistress?" a silken voice said before pausing with shock at the heroes and monsters that confronted it.
"I don't know who you are. But now you have to answer some questions," Mitsumi said and watched Inichi bubble the thin, wiry, dark purple monster.
"Ah! I know nothing!" it said quickly and panicked.
"Bullshit. You likely thought we were her fake mother. Right?!" Zenchu spat out. As they pulled it out, they paused in shock at the jars upon jars of monster fleas that filled the small room. Mitsumi's jaw dropped. There had to be hundreds of these jars! All in my home?! To disperse out to everyone when the time was right?! I can't believe this!
"Destroy. Everything," Saitama glowered and let a wash of destructive rage flood the room. "All of this. Outside. NOW!"
"No! This took years to create! I won't let you-!" the monster started before Saitama reached into the bubble and yanked down on the scrawny neck to glare into the black eyes with red pupils. His own eyes were like brilliant, glowing coals of rage and it shook the monster with complete fear.
"I killed that fat thing with one punch. All of you were eating my wife," Saitama said with a form of fury. Now the monster was panicking. "I'm going to ask you some questions. If you don't answer them, I'm killing you."
"What…is that…?!" Daiki gaped.
"Anyone that is not a monster needs to leave until these jars of monster fleas are destroyed!" Mitsumi said quickly.
"I came here as quickly as I…could…ah…!" Sweet Mask gaped at the hidden treasure chamber. Then he was in further shock at the chamber of monster fleas. It was Bane that grabbed him and hauled him out of the room.
"Master! I'll make sure each jar is sealed!" Genos said started to go over each jar carefully. Zenchu and Garou were quick to help.
"Have Shenjou melt them down before you incinerate," Saitama said.
"Agreed!" Genos said and started to transport the jars to the fire pit area. Shenjou was already waiting to help destroy all of it.
"I'll read its mind for everything I can gather," Inichi said and focused on keeping the monster safely trapped.
"My home was used as a breeding pit!" Mitsumi hissed with disgust. Her fans were completely on the offensive now. "I want Tacki to completely scrub out this section of my home! As it is, I also have questions for you."
"No!" the monster spat out and squealed when Saitama flicked it in the face.
"Talk!" he demanded.
"How long have you been here?" Mitsumi said.
"How long…has my Mistress…been one of us?!" the monster countered.
"You bred with her. Didn't you?" she asked now.
"It was…part of the pact…to keep our line strong…" it grounded out.
"And with me?" Mitsumi asked.
"A bonus…" the monster said. "Something pure. Untouched. Forever utilized. Until you ran away. We got strong from you! Stronger than ever! When you left…we thought to find you. To catch you. Not to kill you. But others thought to try and kill…"
"I'm done," Saitama said and made ready to kill it.
"Wait," Mitsumi said and looked at the monster. "So you know, I am the last Wind Crane Clan assassin now. I need you to meet with someone."
"What?!" the monster gaped.
"Wind Crane?" Saitama asked.
"Yes. My mother, Wind Crane. The very monster that started my clan! Saitama, I know you had questions, but…" Mitsumi smiled at him.
"You answered them for me. Let's see what Wind Crane thinks of all this," Saitama said and nodded to her. The monster howled with protest in Inichi's bubble now when Saitama let it go. Inichi was quick to transport it to the roof with Mitsumi and Saitama following behind. The moment Wind Crane saw the vile thing, she rose up and flared out her wings with her ornate beak wide open for a full threat display.
"Waiting for it?" Saitama asked and watched Wind Crane flare out all of her feathers even more to show that they almost looked like blades now. The monster screamed when she lunged out and snipped down on every limb, part and section of the monster. Then she looked at Inichi to have all the parts tossed up into the air for her to squawk at it. There was nothing left after the sonic sound ripped all of it to shreds and particles.
"And it's dead," Mitsumi nodded.
"Good. Let's finish cleaning out our home and get ready to kill more Secret Skins. Why were there so many of those things?!" Saitama asked.
"I can answer that," Inichi said. "I got all I needed. Your false mother was part of a plan to send those little bombs of fleas to every city. We killed her just before she could give the order to execute it. And I've been silently blocking out every option to give way on what was going on to any nearby Secret Skins in the area. The Secret Skins group, themselves, actually had no idea that she was planning this. She was hoping to take over their little group."
"She always wanted to be the one in control. I'm guessing even as a monster it carried over," Mitsumi frowned.
"And the fleas would have made the hosts loyal to her. That monster we killed was a primary need for her. It was one of the only few that could help with this. It helped make the fleas happen. But…they used your parts to make them stronger. They would have made far better monster hosts from the skins. Your brother, Fumihiro, was the first one they tested with. We saw what he became," Inichi sighed sadly.
"And he still died just as fast," Saitama muttered. Mitsumi saw that his glowing had gone back down, but there was still a touch of it out from him being so livid. "Let's walk around the home and see if the fans can find anything else. Starting with the rest of the bedroom."
"Okay," Mitsumi nodded and got scooped up into his arms.
"Glad we came back to find this crap. It's still crap. But we put an end to it," he muttered. She nodded and got kissed passionately. "I'm smashing down every barrier. Every nightmare that plagued you. And I won't stop until it's all gone. No matter how long it takes."
"Saitama…" she whispered and let him kiss her again. He rested a hand on her belly and sighed hard.
"They ripped this from you. Inichi told me what it was. What was in the cabinet. I don't know why they did it. He thought it was a sign for pure fertility. A womb of a virgin. Just…disgusting! But…it's destroyed with the rest of the garbage. We'll search every room with the fans. Okay?" he asked gently.
"Okay," she trembled and finally pressed into him to start sobbing.
"I know. This was building up again. It's okay…" he whispered and cradled her protectively. "I'm right here. It's okay now. Easy…"
"Fan Dancer! Where do you plan to…go…?" Sweet Mask blinked at what Saitama and Mitsumi were wearing.
"It's Wind Crane Clan business. So we are here in Wind Crane Clan attire. Mitsumi is very, very upset on everything we are finding. All over again. I'm borderline pissed right now. What do you want?" Saitama glared at Sweet Mask.
"Ah…" Sweet Mask paused at Saitama's pupils lighting up briefly with the light of flickering coals.
"Lady Mitsumi!" Tsuruga said when he charged over to guard her.
"I'm here, too," Rendor snarled out when he approached.
"What's left? I saw what was destroyed. Baby monsters?! So gross!" Tatsumaki cringed when she floated behind Rendor to keep pace with him. "Do we know how much more there is?"
"We don't. We were searching around. Mitsumi's fans can find more things, so we're doing a small exploration tour," Saitama said.
"I had to tell you. The first of the possible rehires of servants showed up," Sweet Mask said. Saitama rolled his eyes and sighed.
"We need tomorrow off. Saitama…I don't know how he'll be after tonight. With all of this. Neutral Grounds will be opened, but we need another day as precaution. After tomorrow, we were thinking of the Hero Association with recruits. That would be the time to do it," Mitsumi said softly.
"We can do that," Sweet Mask nodded.
"Fine. We'll eat and see to the possible new servants here. My main concern is they find something and try to use it against Mitsumi. I want to know where the rooms were that they would stay in," Saitama said. "So, I'll head there with Mitsumi now. You go play nice and surprise the new people that want to stay here and work. I'm still cleaning house."
"Very well," Sweet Mask said and was quick to make his way to the main entrance room.
"The servant rooms are on the third floor," Mitsumi said and went quiet.
"Mitsumi?" Saitama asked now. She shook her head, and he glanced at the others before motioning to the fans to make a sound-proof barrier. "Talk to me."
"Two of them were always kind and did what they could for me before they were let go. I later found out they were killed to keep from coming back," she said softly. "Murdered for being kind to me. This happened after Father's death, of course. Not much could be done."
"I see…" Saitama said and grimaced.
"I avoided that floor after it happened. I was always shown indifference or intense cruelty. It was also on that floor…that I was assaulted by one of…you know…" she shivered. "Every time I went there to look for something, I was harassed and chased back out. Belittled and such…"
"Wait. Every other person that worked for your family was mean and nasty?!" Saitama looked at her with shock.
"Other than the two…yes…because they were ordered to be. They could have gone against the order. The two that got killed did. But they all feared that thing. The murders were done to enforce the orders of cruelty to me. They even…started to enjoy it. I told you…I had so much…that I didn't want to say," Mitsumi shivered hard.
The fans around them started to glow with the sheer, angry power that Saitama was giving off now. They were absorbing it to protect the others, and Rendor's eyes widened at what he was witnessing. Saitama knew he had to get rid of it, and he let the fans move to follow him back up to the rooftop with Mitsumi in his arms. The moment he got outside, he set her down to aim up to punch and let the fans expel out the charge they held in for safety. Everyone was in shock at the red beam of death that was seen now.
"Master?!" Genos said when he darted over.
"I'm pissed. I'm so…damned…PISSED!" Saitama seethed out and hugged Mitsumi protectively. "Just…give me a moment…"
"What the hell did I miss?!" Zenchu asked.
"That was my question," Garou muttered.
"If there is any form of rehiring done…any old, original servants…they need to confess everything they ever did to Mitsumi," Saitama said. "All of them were ordered to been mean and nasty to her. All save two that were killed for being nice to her. They were killed to set an example to the others."
"What the fuck?!" Zenchu hissed out with disgust.
"Can we murder them if they confess?" Garou asked now.
"No. Because they'll know they'll be working for the one they were mean to," Mitsumi said with a small smile. "I want to watch them squirm a little. Then I want them to apologize. If any of them show no shame or regret, I will order them to leave and never return. Of course, if they are Secret Skins…"
"We'll be ready for them," Tsuruga snorted from where he was listening in.
"I want to inspect those rooms still. I'll be with you the entire time. If you get any nasty memory, you tell me," Saitama said gently and kissed her forehead. "I'm your living diary now. You tell me everything."
"Okay," she nodded and pressed into him to get a tight squeeze back.
"My beautiful…amazing…wonderful wife…subject to so much crap…!" Saitama growled and cradled her close. "No more of it. It stops as of now."
Bane was silently observing Garou's new attitude with intense fascination. He really did wake up, didn't he? Very well. I will hope he does nothing more that can keep him down the path of being a broken man hell-bent on destruction.
"Lily has been helping with the kitchen, so she knows I'm still helping clean out this place. I want to see these fuckers squirm, too," Garou muttered.
"Let's go check the rooms and then do the interviews. We're not done here until then. We might be able to have dinner, and then we can go home," Saitama said and carried her back into the mansion rooftop entrance. I have no idea what else we'll find. What else we'll discover. I'll find out everything and make my own judgments on what should be done next. And I'll be the one to do all the talking when it comes to who gets hired back. I'll insist on it.
