A/N: Welcome to the redux of ElectroMagnetic. I decided that where I was heading with the original story was pretty stupid, I'm gonna be honest, and that's why I gave up on writing it. Well, that and the fact I just haven't had inspiration. A friend of mine, Azure Refrain, helped lay the groundwork for this story during its infancy. Go check him out when you get the chance.

Anyway, no more boring stuff, here it goes-

"It's over ClockMan. Give it up," Geo growled, his sword aimed towards the neck of the wounded Navi.

"I-I can't!" ClockMan shouted back, voice uneven, heaving for breath. Geo responded in turn, inching the blade closer. The woman next to him summoned a dragon made of water, ready to pounce at the command.

"I dare say that you'd be ill advised to not heed his command, fool," Tia said, eyes narrowed, sending ClockMan crawling back in fear, his eyes wide as he helplessly tried to escape his two timewarped victims who slowly followed..

"Please! Spare me!" he begged with bated breath, cowering as he reached the edge of the platform.

"I will," a new voice called out. Clockman looked up, seeing a blue Navi with a distinct red crest on his chest. "But they may not. Send them back, and I will spare you," the newcomer ordered.

Nodding frantically, ClockMan quickly opened a portal behind Geo and Tia. "Just go! Leave me be!" he croaked out, falling down to his hands and knees in exhaustion. The pair of wavechangers nodded, letting up their weapons and turning to the portals.

"You made the right choice," Geo mumbled before walking through.

Geo's and Tia's eyes snapped open. They looked around, taking note of their surroundings.

"It's… a forest?" Geo wondered aloud.

"Appears so," the older woman nodded. True to their words, the world around them seemed to be nothing but trees and grass. The green was so vibrant it reminded Geo almost of emeralds. It was quiet, almost dead silent, for the wind blew through the leaves occasionally. It was around noon, if the sun glaring down on them was anything to go on.

Looking at himself, he noted he was no longer wave changed with Mega. His clothes were back to his standard red long-sleeve shirt with the white star-shaped shoulder markings, his dad's pendant around his neck, his baggy navy blue shorts, and a pair of red knee-high boots with black soles. Around his waist was his belt with a few pouches attached to the back of it, and on his head were a special pair of goggles called a Visualizer. Noting that he had everything, looked over towards Tia.

She was also back to normal, spouting a violet trench coat over her baggy black pants and white t-shirt. Her dark purple hair had gone back to it's normal length, just barely reaching her shoulders.

She nodded to him before raising her right arm in front of her. "Why do I have this?" she asked bluntly, pointing to the glaringly obvious purple and red gauntlet that seemed rather snug on her arm. Geo didn't have time to reply as she then pointed to his left arm. "And why do you have that?" she asked. Looking down to his left, he noticed that Mega was somehow in his gauntlet form.

"I… I don't know," Geo replied, poking the gauntlet. "Hey, wake up, Mega," he said quietly. With a yawn, the AM-ian awakened. Geo rolled his eyes. "I know for damn fact you don't need to sleep."

"But I like to," the alien inside the gauntlet retorted with a yawn. "So, what do you need now? It better be important. I was having a really nice drea-" he paused. "Geo. Visualizer. Now."

Without much of a second thought, Geo put on his visualizer to look for what made Mega so serious…

Only to see that everything was glowing with EM waves, even himself. How could this be possible? I don't understa- His thoughts were cut off by a harsh poke from Tia.

"We are not alone," she whispered, drawing his attention to a group of 5 large, black wolf-like beasts stalking their way towards him and Tia.

A simply dashing young man screamed in a very many fashion as he flew over the forest canopy. Sighing, a redhead pulled out her javelin and aimed it at him. A second later she threw it, pinning the blond boy against a tree, saving him.

"Thank you!" he yelled, slightly echoing through the forest.

"Sorry!" she responded.

A short girl with a red cloak was frantically running, trying to find her sister, bobbing and weaving through the trees. Her eyes widened as a snooty white haired heiress appeared in front of her. The short girl came to a screeching halt, right in time as to not crash into the other girl, dust and dirt being kicked up in the process. Their eyes met a moment later.

"... No," the white haired girl said.

"No?"

"I'm not working with a child. You are not my partner."

"But we made eye conta-"

"I have no idea what you are going on about," she stated, starting to walk away.

"... come to Beacon, they said. It'd be fun, they said…" the younger girl said under her breath before following with slightly less enthusiasm as before.

/-/

A black and white themed figure rose from the bushes, quickly tossing her bladed ribbon at the large beast's head from behind. Piercing the skull of the monster with a sickening crunch, she then pulled it back, watching as her prey keeled over on its stomach.

A blonde girl who was the beast's original target flinched as it hit the ground with a loud thud. Composing herself, she locked eyes with the black haired girl, who had quite the smirk painted onto her face.

"Eh, I could've taken him."

"I doubt that, for one reason or another…" she mumbled, looking at the now disintegrating corpse.

/-/

A lanky young man with black hair and a streak of pink grunted as dusted himself off before placing his submachine gun/daggers back in their hip holsters. That's enough excitement for one day, he mused to himself, looking down at the fallen giant snake.

"Grruaaaahhh," a high pitched voice called out from above him. The man looked up to see his childhood friend hanging from a branch upside down.

"I still don't think that's what a sloth sounds like," he chuckled lightly. The orange haired girl simply reached down and poked his nose in response.

"Boop."

/-/

Geo ducked under the claw of the beast as it swung over his head. "Dammit! What the hell are we supposed to do!?" he shouted, rolling to the side as another beast behind him sent its arm crashing downwards, cracking the ground on impact.

"Kid! Use a Battle Card!" the AM-ian inside of his gauntlet yelled out.

"I-" Geo got cut off, dodging another swipe from the third monster. "Kinda can't do that! We're not fused!" He grunted as he slid underneath the bipedal wolf, baiting another into striking it through the heart. He looked over to Tia to see how she was faring.

His partner stepped back, letting an attack nearly hit her as it blew her hair back, a slight amethyst shimmer formed briefly before dispersing. She nodded at something quickly and raised her right arm in the air, her gauntlet glowing slightly before summoning a long dragon of water. Smirking, she sent the watery beast flying at her attackers, piercing the first through the head and the second through the stomach, both of the bodies going limp as the glow faded from their red eyes..

Geo was snapped from his stupor when a few large wolf-like problems of his own appeared again, one less than before. He frowned. "I swear, if you say I told you so, Mega…" he grumbled, summoning his own weapon of choice; the Sword Battle Card. His gauntlet quickly transformed, engulfing his hand as a blade of clear blue emerged, nearly doubling the reach of his arm. One beast in front, another behind. He then quickly dove to the side as they both rushed him, causing them to headbutt each other. Wasting no time, he leaped and brought his blade crashing down upon one of the jet black wolves, cleaving it in two. He turned to the last aggressor.

The lone wolf howled in rage before breaking into an all four sprint at Geo, who simply held up the blade at its heart, letting it spear itself on the sword's edge. Pulling the blade out of the fallen beast, he sighed, dismissing the Battle Card. With his gauntlet now in its original form, and all adversaries dealt with, he glared at Tia, who was all too happy sitting down as a spectator, surrounded by disintegrating bodies.

"Yeah, rub it in, why don't you…" he deadpanned.

"You seemed like you had everything under control, did you not?" she replied, tilting her head.

"I can see why Ace left you…" he grumbled, sitting himself down on the now torn up dirt. He wiped some sweat from his brow. If Tia was in any way offended, she hid it well. I seriously question if she even has emotions sometimes...

"... Told you so."

"Go fuck yourself, Mega."

On a cliff looking over a forest, a grey haired man took a long sip from his mug, focused on the video feed of two very familiar faces. Well, one was unmistakable, the other... not so much.

… And then another overly long sip. He then turned his head to his blonde colleague, whose jaw was slack. "My… Those are some faces we've not seen for quite a long time. Wouldn't you agree, Glynda?" he asked with a small, weak smile.

"I- bu-" she stopped, collecting herself. Pushing her glasses up, she nodded. "I suppose so, Ozpin. I suppose so…" she sighed.

"This year truly is shaping up to be an interesting one," he said, taking another long sip from his mug…

Oh? The mug was empty.

"Hey, now. Watch your language," A more female- correction, a more insane- sounding voice popped up from Tia's gauntlet. Virgo emerged a moment later, the blue being of energy already having her signature cruel grin painted on her face. "What would Luna say if she heard you drop the F-Bomb, hm?" she asked mockingly, feigning concern.

"You shut up, too, Virgo," Geo shot back, glaring at the clearly insane alien. He quickly directed his attention to his own EM being. "Mega… what was that?" he asked softly. The AM-ian popped out of the gauntlet, his form mostly composed of green energy with a blue and silver chestplate, his head shaped similarly to a wolf.

"I'm not sure, kid. I want to tell you, but I really can't. I only have ideas, no clear answers-"

"Sounds like a cop out~."

"But," Mega continued, "with what little we have to go on, it seems that everything is in something akin to constant wave change. There aren't any wave roads, but everything is bonded completely with EM waves," he then directed his attention towards Tia. "I noticed something during the fight. When attacks got too close for comfort, a sort of - how do I put this? I guess we'll use the word 'aura'- would pop up around you," he explained, voice as gruff as ever.

"Yeah! I saw that too! And felt it! It was like Ms Tia here was stealing my power," Virgo chimed in, helpful for once. Only to then bonk her human on the head with her staff.

"I see," Tia nodded before standing up. "It's not too dissimilar to a forcefield of sorts," she said as she walked over to Geo, Virgo slowly floating behind. She offered her hand to Geo, who gladly took it, pulling himself up and brushing off dirt from his pants. "Since I have your attention, I noticed that the beasts we fought are almost like the corrupted copies we made of Mega during my days for Dealer," she stiffened, "I still apologize for my actions back then, I-" she was cut off by Geo placing a hand on her shoulder.

"I know you are," he smiled, "It's been years. It's okay."

"Just kiss already, damn lovebirds," Mega grumbled from his gauntlet, making Geo blush at the idea and pull his hand from Tia's shoulder. Over the quite audible protests of the teen, Mega summoned himself outside, his arms crossed as he looked at Tia. "You mentioned how these… things… were like those clones that I remember committing genocide against?" he received an assenting nod. "So they are technically viruses?"

"That is one way to look at it. It seems more like animals that entered eternal wave change with them," bringing her hand to her chin, she thought aloud, "Though, I cannot say what exactly made them pitch black, I can definitely vouch for them being clones. Given the fact they act much like the ones we made, with them attacking whatever human without reason. Not only that but they bear a resemblance to your armor, only with it now being bone…"

"Maybe some evil witch somewhere corrupted the clones even more, causing them to be like this, and now she sends them off to kill all of humanity! Oh and completely ruin an already good story with plot points that go nowhere!" Virgo shouted gleefully, waving her tiny staff around.

"Tia?"

"Yes, Geo?"

"Keep her on a tight leash, will you?"

"That is the plan."

"Good, good..." he said, trailing off as he saw a girl in a red cloak fall from a comically - if not dangerously - large bird. He turned and met eyes with Tia, who simply nodded.

"Life is never easy for a hero, is it, kid?"

The entrance to the cave loomed before them, some faded etches depicting some sort of fight scribed into the stone. The blond boy turned to his partner. "You think this is it?" he asked, nodding to the ominous cave.

"I don't think so, but it wouldn't hurt to look, would it?" she shrugged. "C'mon, let's go."

Nodding, the boy grabbed a torch that was placed by the entrance and lit it. The light emanating from it guiding their path through the cavern. It was only a few steps in when they noticed a glowing orb.

"Would you look at that? That must be it!" the blond said, approaching it before tripping on his own feet, the torch going out with the fall. "Ow."

"Um… Jaune? Do you feel that?" his partner asked.

"What? Soul crushing defeat, Pyrrha?" Jaune replied.

"No, it's mor-" Pyrrha never got to finish the sentence, as the words died in her throat. A wall of red eyes glared back at them. The orb whipping back as the scorpion-like beast revealed itself. "We have a Deathstalker!"

/-/

"Ruby!" the white haired girl called out, hanging desperately to the giant raven, "I told you this was a terrible idea!"

"We're fine! Just stop worrying, Weiss!" Ruby yelled back, wind blowing against her face.

"I'm so far beyond worrying!" Weiss screamed, feeling her grip loosen.

"In a good way?!" the younger girl asked hopefully.

"In a bad way!" the heiress shrieked back.

"Well, if you hate it so much, then jump!"

"You can't be seriou-" Weiss trailed off, noticing that Ruby was gone. "You have got to be kidding me!"

A/N: So. Yeah. That was definitely a chapter. I realize I mentioned this earlier, but the reason I'm doing this again is mainly because it was practically a necessity, The old ElectroMagnetic will stay up, but it won't be updated, as I just don't have a reason to write it anymore. I never truly had a plan with it in the first place, so I'm trying to go with an actual plan this time around. One where there is a clear goal in sight. Granted, this is not going to be anything near our King Coeur Al'Aran when it comes to length or grandiose, but I do hope it'll do nicely enough to satisfy at least a few of you guys, and, well, myself. It's nice to write again.

I won't be setting an upload schedule just yet as summer is rolling around and I'm starting a new job. I'll upload when I can and when I want until I can set in stone exactly what needs to be done.
