Not mine, purely for entertainment purposes. No money is being made for this... eh you know the rest.

This is my first fanfiction... ever, first Doctor Who piece... obviously, so be nice? I'd like constructive critism though... So please Read and Review!

Somehow being missed, and being the one to miss, suddenly seemed to be completely impossible to differentiate. It didn't make sense really. The life he led really did make one miss being there and doing the things he did. Even at the cost of their life. And he hadn't even done domestic.

In the first time, since… well since the time war, it puzzled him to no end as to why a human had somehow tore down his defenses to protect his hearts, not that that made such a difference, from heart break. And in one, or many failed attempts, final chance got him to open up some doors to let her in. His people were gone, his planet… gone, hell so many companions were either dead or were slowly dying in their own time. And the one that had refused at first to go with him… was tearing all of his already loosely held sanity away. And she never intended to, it has only happened because you've allowed it… He never did get to tell her anything that he truly wanted to until time was running thin, and neither had known. And she still noticed before then didn't she? Noticed the way you would look at her and go to any length to protect and save her. And love her and love…

He was a Time Lord, last one if you…, and he couldn't even use time to his advantage, risk all of the paradoxes just to see her again. Maybe through… He had allowed himself to love her, despite his better judgment, not true…, but he had been too late to tell her everything and had nothing left. Very not true, she… Nothing to show the universe that he loved her, still do if I recall… Loved her more than his own life. He did at least show her that. Died for her, made a right mess of it though, and then regenerated, and let her in as she…

If only he had gotten there sooner…

If only he could turn back time and tell her sooner. Oh how that was ironic… A Time Lord, wishing to turn back time, and something that he could, but risk losing… Are you finally going to…? He really shouldn't… That's not what…

He really, really, shouldn't.

But he has to anyway, just to check…

Just to see…

Just to make sure…

Clothes shuffling through the wind, laughter- that is high enough to be loud, but soft enough to be soothing; and a small chu- voiceNow that surely hadn't been in this holo…

"-ad? Daddy…? …Are you a'ight?" the small voice…

And he turns to see a small boy, no older than five, looking at him with chocolate brown eyes, eyes that are so hers, eyes that seemed to want to stay hidden behind sleep-tossed, light brown, almost dark blonde, hair.

"Daddy?"

Sometimes it would almost get him… survivor's guilt, why you're going human aren't you… But his Rose had indeed left him something to cherish and bring him back away from the edge.

"Zell..." A name she chose… "Did I wake you?"

And thus he, the last Time Lord, would continue… would continue to go on living for his Rose and their son, the second last Time Lord.
