AN: Enjoy!

Wanda remained curled into Vision's side for quite some time. It was so nice to be close to, well, anyone again, but especially nice to be close to her Vision.

And though Vision had said he had to go, and Wanda completely understood why that was, he currently seemed in no great hurry to move. So, eventually, she swung a leg over him, straddling his hips and kissing him deeply, smiling against his lips when he returned her kiss, probably the first time that Wanda had smiled at all in quite a long while.

When Wanda felt Vision's body respond to her closeness, she shifted slightly and sank onto him, her breath catching as he moaned softly. Wanda gazed into his eyes, slowly rocking her hips, not wanting to waste any of the time she had left with him before he decided to leave. She wanted him to remember what he was leaving, and what he would be coming back for. She needed him to come back, because right now, at this very complicated time in her life, his return gave her something to hope for.

Vision gazed back at Wanda, moving with her, and as he gazed at her, the sparkle of her soft green eyes, the golden rays of the late afternoon sun shining like gold on her perfect, pale skin, and heard the soft cries of pleasure spilling from her lips, sounds that were only for him, it was so, so easy, just to love her. Easy to remember how pleased he was to walk the streets with her on his arm, how proud he was to call her his. He dipped his head to suckle at her neck, intending to leave a mark that would tell the world that she was spoken for, and Wanda moaned, holding him there.

For a while, tangled up with her, making sweet, passionate love, crying each other's name it was easy to forget where she ended and he began, and so very easy to shut down that horrible little voice in his head.

But after, as the two of them caught their breath, Wanda clinging to Vision, her face buried against his shoulder, the hated little voice whispered once more.

So sweet. So vulnerable. It would be so easy to wrap your hands around her throat and..

"Hey.." Wanda, feeling him tense, lifted her head, cupping his face in her hands. "I trust you. You won't hurt me."

Hearing those words was enough to calm Vision, a little.

"It is wonderful of you to say so, Wanda, but.."

"You don't trust yourself, and that's why you have to go sort yourself out" She finished for him, pressing her forehead to his.

"There's this voice in my head. I've been fighting it ever since I first saw you in the street. I have to stop it.."

"That's okay. I can wait."

"What?" Vision blinked.

"I'll wait for you. You go do whatever you need to do, fix whatever you need to fix. I'll wait, however long it takes."

"Wanda.." Vision wondered whether he was really worth waiting for.

"I'll wait" Wanda insisted, cutting him off before he could argue. "And when it's safe.. when you're ready.. You come find me, Vision. Okay?"

"Okay" He replied "Yes. I'll come find you."

"You promise?"

"I promise?"

"Well then.." She reluctantly moved off of him and began gathering her clothes, "You'd better go, then. The sooner you fix your problem, the sooner you can come back."

Distracted by her for a moment, Vision couldn't help but smile. It was nice to know that, if he did manage to get the nasty little voice silenced, he would still have Wanda to come back to.

"Yes, of course."

As Vision prepared for his departure, He left Wanda with some of the medications he had been giving her, and a list of instructions.

"You should be alright with regular painkillers by now.."

"Right, the pain is definitely going down."

"Good. You're healing well, but keep an eye out for any signs of infection.." He told her.

"Got it" Wanda nodded.

"Pain, redness around the area.."

"Mhmm."

"Fever or chills.."

"Right."

"Swelling, or.."

"Vision" Wanda cut him off, "I spent a few years living on the streets with a brother who had a habit of getting into fights or otherwise hurting himself. I know how to watch for infections."

"Right" said Vision sheepishly. "Of course."

"You don't have to worry about me" She kissed his cheek. "I've gotten pretty good at taking care of myself."

"I know.." He slung a small bag of belongings over his shoulder. "Help yourself to anything, and you are welcome to stay here as long as you like.."

"Thanks, but I'll probably get back to my own place some time soon" Wanda smiled sadly. "I'm probably still not entirely safe around people yet. And if something goes wrong and that little voice gets the better of you, it's probably best that you don't know where I am."

"That is a good point.." Vision sighed. "Well, I'd best be going."

"Alright.." Wanda pulled him close for one last kiss goodbye that she definitely hoped was more of a 'See You Later', and pressed an envelope into his hand T'Challa and Shuri know you're coming. Give this to Shuri, okay?"

"Of course, but.. How do they know?" asked Vision, confused.

"Because as much as I've been a magnificent screw up recently, I held onto a few connections" Wanda replied. "Now go, get yourself fixed so you can come back to me."

"As soon as I am able, I promise.."

Vision stepped out the door, flying into the night, half-phased to keep himself from being seen. Wanda watched until she could see him no more, and sighed, hoping that he really would be back soon.

Wanda spent a few more days holed up in Vision's apartment, hoping that maybe, Shuri would be able to purge Hayward's programming quickly, and he could come home. However, this didn't prove to be the case, and Wanda knew it had probably been wishful thinking on her part. Aside from the programming, she was sure Hayward wouldn't have cared much about the quality of the repairs done on Vision, so Shuri would likely have some adjustments to do there, too.

After giving up on the idea of a quick fix for Vision, Wanda returned to her lonely mountain cabin, with the hope that it might not be lonely for too much longer. She wanted to believe, needed to believe, that Vision would, in fact, come back to her.

He had promised, and Vision had never been one to break his promises. He would come find her, as soon as he could.

Any alternative was unthinkable.

So, when she was not studying and learning more about the abilities she held, Wanda was planning for Vision's return.

Exchanging her single bed for a double, obtaining a second set of drawers, and sweaters in the style she knew were his favourite.

She set up a bookshelf for him, getting copies of all of his favourite books, and others she thought he might like. Movies and TV Shows as well.

She did all this to keep her focus off of what Vision was currently going through, or whether he was in any pain.

Wanda became so engrossed in her preparations that, as the weeks went by, there were a few things that, at first, she failed to notice.

A strange nausea that began to wash over her for a few hours each morning.

A slight soreness in her breasts.

An aversion to the smell of certain foods.

Fatigue that she put down to her split focus between study and preparing her home for a second occupant.

It wasn't until Wanda missed a period, did the math, and realised this was her second missed period that she put together all the signs that said Vision may not have left her entirely alone.

But that wasn't possible.. Was it?

Of course it wasn't. This was the real world, not the magic one she'd created in Westview.

And yet, the positive Pregnancy test Wanda found herself staring at a few days afterwards seemed to have very different ideas about what was possible.

Shakily, Wanda rested a hand on her stomach, unsure whether she was happy or terrified. She really hoped that Vision made it home to her.. To them.. soon.
