Campania Elevator Hall
Frances resists the urge to grunt in frustration at how these undead people could not stop moving no matter how many blows she lands.
"Marchioness!"
Frances turns, seeing Sebastian land on his feet with Amelia on one arm, holding her like a parent would with a small child. "Are you hurt?"
The noble woman shakes her head and raises an eyebrow as she sees Amelia trying to get out of the butler's hold. He smiles that queer smile of his as if the pinkette was being adorable. He turns his head and says something to her ear and Amy's face reddens out of anger or embarrassment Frances was not sure.
"What are these things butler?" Frances asks, gesturing to the undead beings.
"I don't really know but there is one way to defeat them..."
Amelia pulls out her knife and throws it expertly in the forehead of the undead that had risen up from behind Madam Frances, "Smashing their heads!"
The noblewoman turns and strikes a blow through its head and indeed it stops and falls backward, unmoving, "Hmm, apparently what you said is true. In consideration of this advice, I will ignore your slovenly appearance this one time."
Sebastian nodded and Amelia smirked at his side, amused.
"Frances, are you alright?!"
The marchioness turns, seeing her husband and son coming toward her.
"Amelia!"
Edward came forward, picking her up from Sebastian's arms to put her down. Sebastian observed him noting Edward's eyes were bright with excitement and a grin so wide on his face that you could almost forget they were in a predicament. He hugs her tightly, uncaring of his unseemly appearance.
"I am so glad you are alright."
The pinkette breaks the embrace reluctantly, whispering an apology before kissing him gently on the mouth in front of everyone. Before the blonde could react, she breaks the kiss and speeds off causing Sebastian to shout. Edward turns ready to bolt after her but his father holds him back.
"She must have ran off to get to him."
"Exactly" frowns the demon butler. "She was told specifically to be away and she denied orders. That nerve..."
Frances shakes her head, "She is doing her duty as a servant of the Phantomhive. Tell your master to appreciate that sense of loyalty or he will regret it."
Sebastian was surprised, it almost sounded like she approved of Amelia. He coughs, deciding to tell them why he was here but Frances refused his offer to be taken to safety. The Midfords were adamant in protecting the vulnerable.
"I must insist-"
"Go to him, Elizabeth will cry if Ciel dies protecting her so go now."
Sebastian relents seeing that she was not going to change her mind, sighing as he bows deeply, "As you wish, please be safe."
"Hey, be sure to tell Ciel I will not forgive him if anything happens to my little sister."
The butler nods, expecting this until Edward grabs him by the arm, "You damn well better protect Amelia. You're her superior so you need to watch out for her."
"She is much more formidable than she looks but I will do my best to find her or the young master wouldn't forgive me."
Edward nods, releasing his arm, "You better."
It was much later when Sebastian finally sees Amelia. Obviously the young lord was fairly angry with him when he earlier explains that she ran off and for some reason, he could not track her. But now, they see her again, fending off Grell's chainsaw in the ballroom, not allowing him to hurt the Vicount
She pushes him off with her swords, throwing Grell off balance and he stares at her confused by the ripped shortened extravagant dress and the twin swords she was carrying in her hands.
"What the hell are you doing here?!"
"You cannot kill him, you're a grim reaper! You cannot kill humans!" Grell was confused but before he could voice it out, the pinkette makes a swift turn, facing the Vicount. "I won't kill him but I'll definitely slice this idiot just a little bit."
She lunges for him but before she could land a hit she was thrown back by a number of sotoba keeping her in place on the wall.
"I am afraid I cannot allow you to harm him little girl. It would be such a loss to lose such an amusing human."
Grell growls almost, heading to strike the Undertaker next but his chainsaw was stopped by some wooden instrument.
"Why can't my death scythe cut it?!"
Grell lets out a yell as he's forced upward into the glass ceiling by more sorotoba. Sebastian's eyes widen seeing the undertaker reveal his face. The man was handsome with a nasty scar across his face and eyes of a shimigami. Sebastian curses inwardly, they've all been oblivious to what was really there. A real danger to the young master.
Ciel turns to look at Amelia who joined him at the stairs, her face was void of makeup now and her hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail with her X pins on the sides of her head. Sebastians and the reapers were battling it out on ground floor. She rests her arms on the banister, watching. He sighs deeply before finally speaking.
"You were missing for hours Amu"
"We are in the middle of a zomb-rising undead situation" she answers, grateful she caught herself before using the modern term, 'zombie'.
Ciel's frown deepens, "You disobeyed a direct order."
"I want to protect you"
"And I want to keep you safe, why is that hard to understand?"
"They why bother making Tanaka-jiji train me?"
"So you can protect yourself and stay safe. I may have led the others to believe I got you trained so you can efficiently protect me but what I really wanted was to keep you away from this" he gestures to the three reapers and demon butler fighting ferociously below them.
"I am thankful you wanted to keep me safe. You barely knew me yet you provided me shelter, food, clothes and a home. The only way I can think of properly showing you my gratitude is being by your side and helping you. I hope you can understand that."
Ciel turns seeing her soft expression, he moves his hand and touches hers. Their fingers intertwine and he brings her hand to his lips and kisses it tenderly, looking up at her. "Your companionship, having you by my side. I cherish those things deeply. I just wanted you safe. I can't have anything happen to you."
She leans in, kissing him on the cheek, "I can take care of myself"
The earl's face reddens, embarrassed he coughs before changing the subject, "Of course since you somehow found a pair of swords, care to explain that?"
She grins as she explains, "I found them in the captain's quarters. He hung them like antiques which to me was such a waste so I took them and fought my way through the ship looking for you and helping others too. He apparently had these twin dao swords properly refined and cleaned on a regular basis so I just sharpened them so they could be of fighting shape. "
He looks at her thoughtfully before leaning in and kissing her on the cheek too, whispering in her ear that he was proud of her. She smiles about to say thank him but she stops, something like an instinct of sorts tells her she needs to move. She turns, pushing Ciel down as a dark figure appears behind them.
The Undertaker clicks his tongue, annoyed. He reaches down to pick up Ciel but Amu was quicker, she takes her sword and slashes the air in front of them, daring him almost to try. The Undertaker lunges but Amu does a roundhouse kick, sending him flying before she goes forward on offense.
The grim reapers watch as Amu moves with vicious aggression but she was striking to incapacitate even though it was clear that by her movements she could kill him if she tried and if the Undertaker had an off moment. The Undertaker meanwhile was clearly surprised that the teenager could keep up with his movements as well as the other reapers. She moved like some sort of royal animal, agile and strong yet graceful at the same time. She moved from place to place, from the table, to the floor to the stairwell and even running on the wall in high heels. This girl was no ordinary maid. The Undertaker deadpans, he was reading into the girl too much. He had to end this now. He lifts his death sythe, ready to do his last act.
"Let's meet again Earl"
Amu pulls Ciel into the boat with Sebastian helping from the water. He watches them, clutching his side in pain from the blow of the death sytche earlier.
"Young Master, you have to stay with me. You cannot sleep."
Ciel coughs water, looking up into her golden honey toned eyes. He moves his gloved hand onto her cheek. "Am I dreaming? Or dead?"
She couldn't stop herself, she laughed, "You're a little roughed up but alive."
He gets up slowly, his body cold and sore. He grumbles that he feels like he's freezing until he sees something in the water emerging to the surface.
"Sebastian!"
The butler turns, kicking off the undead lady in the head with his other leg before scrambling on board with Amu's help. Ciel shakes his head bewildered.
"How can they still move in the water?"
"Well...they don't need to breathe so I guess they can't drown either" reasons the butler.
"Then-"
Amu covers his mouth, watching more bubbles in the water forming. The two stare horrified as those things begin advancing toward them. Sebastian curses, picking up the twin dao Amu used.
"I'm borrowing these."
She nodded, unable to argue with his logic. She turns feeling Ciel's hand in hers. "We are not dying today. Clear?"
Before Amu could respond, Ciel was already giving the order. "Eradicate them Sebastian!"
"Yes milord!"
