Amu was heavily against the matter. She wanted absolutely nothing to do with going back to school, especially if Edward and Sebastian were there.
However, luck was not on her side. Time passed by in a blur; before Amu could argue, Nina had already ambushed her into boy's clothes, a pastel lavender wig and chest bindings tighter than a corset. She prayed to whatever Lord above that would listen to a cambion like her that she would still have shapely breasts after this ordeal.
Sigh...why must my life be so complicated?
Ciel ran a hand through his hair, perplexed. He had heard from Nina that Amu wasn't too thrilled about the whole debacle, which made Ciel feel uncomfortable. Usually, he wouldn't care about other people's feelings, but he had to admit at least to himself that Amu mattered to him. She didn't want her upset with him.
"Is something the matter, young master?"
Ciel avoided looking at Sebastian, who he knew disapproved of the idea.
The eyepatch-wearing earl went over to the hanger and put on his blazer, ready to start the charade.
Amu sighed deeply, she had just shaken hands with the VP after being welcomed to this school, but her instincts told her that something was off. It was like that feeling she got before X Eggs stuck. A dark, gloomy aura surrounded the campus, setting her on edge.
"Chaise!"
Amu resisted the urge to click her tongue in annoyance before turning to Ciel's direction, walking towards her with another spectacle-wearing boy. She schooled her expression carefully, smiling gently.
"Ciel, it's been too long. How are you?"
"Fantastic now that you're here in the school too." He gestures to the boy at his side, "Mcmillan."
"Pleasure."
They shook hands firmly, but 'Chaise' was tense as Ciel observed but did an excellent job of hiding his discomfort. 'He' started to understand now why Ciel made him come here.
"Mr Croft, kindly follow me, please. I will need to escort you to your dormitory."
Chaise nodded; he bid Ciel and Macmillan farewell and followed Professor Michaelis obediently.
Ciel watched them go, a little envious of Sebastian that he managed to be the first to have some private time with Chaise.
He just hoped Sebastian didn't tease her too much about the cross-dressing.
Sebastian attempted to force Chaise Croft against the wall, but Chaise is quicker and manages to manoeuvre Sebastian to fall onto the ground; Chaise's leg is bent on his right shoulder, and his fingers are crossed in front of his face putting pressure on his neck. The point of Chaise's arm trap with the crossface is to prevent people from bridging out. The pastel-haired teen looked on, eagerly awaiting the older demon's surrender.
Sebastian eventually did tap out, albeit reluctantly realising after two minutes in the hold that Chaise was not joking around.
Once freed, he got up immediately with an unamused frown on his face. "I suppose Tanaka has been making good progress in your training."
Chaise says nothing at first but stands facing him. Sebastian sighs, seeing the look in his eye, "Fine, I will not approach you unnecessarily while you're here."
The powder-blue haired gentleman smirks, "Glad we understand each other, Professor."
"Woah! Awesome!"
"Look at that!"
"Over there!"
Chaise looks over and nearly facepalm when he sees the Indian prince grinning as he looks around in amazement from his perch on his elephant.
"Ooooh! So this is school!"
Even from where he sat, Prince Souma could hear his fellow students talking about him excitedly.
"It seems he is an Indian prince."
"It's my first time seeing an elephant!"
Prince Souma, meanwhile, couldn't help but gawk at his view. He did not know school campuses could be as enormous compared with his own home in his country.
Most interesting!
Chaise shakes his head in disbelief, Ciel had told him Souma was coming, but he nowhere imagined that the prince would make such a flashy entrance as this to a school.
"HEEEY CIELLL, I'M HERE!"
Chaise also distinctively remembered Ciel telling him that he instructed Souma not to indicate they knew each other.
"Damn, rich people are just real flashy, aren't they?"
Chaise turns, and his eyes widen, seeing the student talking to him; since when does a student in this day and age has a deathhawk for a hairstyle?
The student dressed in the purple accentuated uniform like his had black hair on the sides of his head and shaved short, while the strip of hair down the centre was lengthy and bleached white. He wore thick black eye makeup and possessed painted black fingernails and several piercings in each ear, wearing a combination of wide hoop earrings and spiked studs. Already rocking the absolute 'goth boy' look, the student's face had a long scar that ran from his left eye to his jawbone.
"The name is Cheslock. You're my new roommate, Chaise Croft?"
Chaise blinks once then twice before awkwardly introducing himself; he never expected to meet a male in this period wearing makeup.
"Come on. Violet asked me to show you the way back to the dorm from the school" he takes Chaise by the shoulder and guides him out of the crowd.
"That's not necessary; Professor Michaelis took me there earlier to drop off my things, and I remember the way so-"
"-right, but it is your first day, and it's easy to get lost on campus."
Chaise decides to change the topic, not wanting to seem stubborn, "How come I didn't see you at the dorm earlier?"
"Ah, I'm the fag of our Purple House. I was busy with my tasks for the day."
Chaise blinks his eyes in confusion before remembering what Ciel had explained to him, "You serve the Purple House prefect then?"
"Correct," smirks Cheslock.
The powder blue-haired student doesn't say anything else at first, mulling all the new information in his head. It was no coincidence Sebastian arranged him to room with Cheslock; he had to get close to him.
"Since you serve Violet Wolf dorm, I'm assuming you know my former neighbour Derrick Arden?"
"Arden...Lord Clemen's son?"
Chaise nods, "I played with him some times when I was little. Derrick wrote to me that he was in Red House. Imagine my surprise when I heard he transferred to Purple House."
"I haven't seen him in a while. I figured he transferred out or something." Cheslock hums thoughtfully.
Chaise nods, committing his words to memory before Cheslock suddenly slaps him on the back.
"Don't you worry, I hear you're a fine addition to join Violet Wolf! Those other Houses think we're no good, but we reign supreme over those losers. I hear you're musically inclined like me too. What do you play?"
Chaise resists the urge to cringe at the stinging pain on his back, "The harp, cello, piano and guitar."
"We should play a piece together sometime; I play the piano too, including the bagpipes, zither and the violin."
"Zither?"
"It's a string instrument; I have it in our room; I'll play for you later," Cheslock tells him, chuckling at the younger man's curious head tilt.
Chaise smiled, intrigued. Cheslock wasn't as intimidating as he thought; he was a pretty agreeable guy despite his looks.
Days later, Ciel thwarted Maurice Cole's misdeeds with the help of Prince Souma, thus garnering a lot of attention, especially from the P4, showcasing 'exemplary model behaviour'.
Ciel later became the fag of Clayton, who was the fag of the Blue House prefect, which meant he rose in the ranks meanwhile, Chaise was spending a lot of time with Cheslock, much to Ciel's chagrin.
The both of them became friends rather quickly, sharing a passion for music, literature and sports. It was a first for Cheslock to make a friend who shared similar interests with him and paid no heed to his appearance or the whispers from other people who bothered to care.
Ciel meanwhile secretly seethed that with his new popularity and duties, he had no time whatsoever to talk to Chaise so instead he sent Sebastian to get the progress reports. It just so happened, Ciel saw Chaise and Cheslock walking together so he hid immediately, intent to hear their conversation.
"How are you liking the school so far, Chaise?"
Chaise grinned, "I think it's pretty swell thus far."
"Too bad you're not interested in meeting Violet. I think Violet would like you, you know?"
The new student shakes his head; he remembers Ciel telling him to keep away from the rest of the P4. It would be too suspicious to learn that another of Ciel's acquaintances joined the school.
"You sure? Violet seems he prefers solitude," Chaise answers thoughtfully.
"You're right, but he makes use of social situations so he can get inspiration from the others around him to make more masterpieces."
Chaise hummed, understanding that, but Cheslock went on, "Plus, dare I say you're pretty close to his drawing level. You two would catch on great, I think."
Chaise shrugs nonchalantly, "I don't like attention very much, mate."
"Hmm, is that why you don't let me see you change in our room?"
The pastel-haired teen flushes immediately, "I'm just shy!"
Ciel who was still spying on them gritted his teeth in irritation.
The nerve!
"But we're both men! Why do you've got to be shy? Besides, if you were that timid, how do you handle me being shirtless in our room all the time?"
"Because I don't mind looking at you without a shirt on!"
Cheslock stops in his tracks, processing what his roommate said with his face reddening with embarrassment, "Huh?"
Ciel also heard what was said; he blinks once then twice, slowly understanding what just happened. He smacks his head against the pillar he was hiding behind, feeling defeated.
Chaise meanwhile also realises what he said and struggles to find words; he panicked inwardly, wondering what to do now. He flushed too, and if anyone had looked, they would have seen two male teenagers looking at each other with bewildered red faces at a loss of what to say to each other.
Eventually, Chaise couldn't take it anymore and anxiously said his goodbyes before running off, causing Cheslock to stare at the space where he was.
How do we handle this?
