"Wow, you actually wrote that Kath?" Chakotay said to his wife of 10 years. They were now snuggling on their couch in the home they bought together back on earth.
"Yeah I did. God I wanted to tell you how I felt back then."
He gave his wife a gentle peck on her forehead and said, "As did I Kath, as did I."
"I couldn't let anything happen though, stupid protocols!" She said pouting.
"Hey were together now aren't we." He said with a chuckle.
"Yes we are. You know, I still can't believe I actually found that letter."
"Yeah I know, and it took you what, about 12 years to come across it."
"I know eh, I kinda forgot I wrote it. And now, here we are sitting reading a letter that I wroteto you, but intending for you never to read it."
"I'm so glad I finally told you how I felt. One year after we made it home. I was sure you would have moved on by then. Jeez, I thought you had already moved on back on Voyager."
"Well I tried when you were with Seven, but no matter how hard I tried to dispose of them , the feelings wouldn't go away."
"I love you Kathryn." he said smiling down at her petite frame in his arms.
"I love you too."
She looked up at him, giving him a warm smile and leaning in for a kiss.
