Another update! Woop, glad to be on somewhat of a track, lol.
Speaking of tracks...there's two songs in this one so...
Disclaimer: I own nothing except the configuration of words into a readable text...most times.
Songs: Heaven Knows - The Pretty Reckless
Anything You Can Do - Bernadette Peters, Tom Wopat
I might have changed a word or two.
Enjoy!
Elsa managed to make it in time to class the next morning, her hair still wet from her quick shower after morning patrol. Rapunzel relaxed as she saw the blonde sit down just as the late bell rang. Most of the class was still chatting seeing as the teacher seemed to be running late himself.
Elsa took the time to catch her breath. She'd been trying to exercise her hold on music. It was easier to concentrate when it was just her or a handful of others. Currently she could hear an almost consistent beat, a beat she started absently remaking.
First her fist on the desk then an open hand...a consistent the teacher showed up and used his pointer thingy to slam on the black board to catch everyone's attention. Elsa could see Rapunzel nodding her head in time with the light rhythm she was making with her hand.
Taking a deep breath Elsa closed her eyes and let the music take its course. She was stunned to hear Rapunzel start to sing and the class just seemed to accept it as a guitar noise floated around them with some drums.
"Peter's in the back with a pocket of high
If you listen close
You can hear him cry
Oh oh, heaven knows
We belong way down below," Rapunzel sang.
"Sing it" Elsa found herself adding and the class joined in, in what Elsa assumes is the chorus.
"Oh oh, heaven knows
We belong way down below
Way down below, way down below."
The song took its course as everyone just seemed to be in sync and when it eventually ended it was as if nothing happened at all. Elsa felt a little drained, but happy.
Rapunzel on the other hand seemed to have noticed something was off as she turned just enough to frown at Elsa. The blonde felt guilty for taking control like that, but it was such a powerful feeling.
"Next time...warn me before you test something," the healer whispered and Elsa blushed a little as she nodded.
When the class ended Rapunzel grabbed Elsa's arm. The blonde wanted to protest but saw the permanent marker in the girls hand.
"If you're going to experiment you have to be concealed," was all she said before she moved Elsa's sleeve up and drew the charm on her forearm that she had said she could do. She still needs to add it to her mask she remembers.
Elsa has to admit that after that little slip of power made her feel a lot more relaxed for most of the school day, even the jumble of music was silent and she felt happy.
She even smiled at Anna as they passed each other and the poor redhead was so caught off guard she slipped and almost fell if it weren't for her friends. Elsa gave her a cute and shy 'sorry' before hurrying off.
As the school day came to a close however, on her way to the agency the music started to return. It was risky but she wants to see how good this charm was and at this point she's just so excited and fascinated by her power that she doesn't really care when a few eyebrows get raised.
Luckily it was just her, Merida, Kristoff and Hans at the agency for now. Mulan and Shang were busy going after some kind of oni and Rapunzel wasn't expected in till later.
Giving a good stretch Elsa headed over to the gym. Once there she saw Merida and Kristoff getting ready for a sparring match. Those two always seemed to be in a contest with one another.
Elsa started to smile, a sly fox smile if anyone were to describe it. She let the soft music grow louder, there was no harm in seeing what these two wanted to say now was there?
It started with Merida oddly and the girl wasn't half bad with her accent.
"Anything you can do I can do better," she started.
"Ha!" Was Kristoff's retort.
"I can do anything better than you," she said cheekily.
"No, you can't," Kristoff frowned.
"Yes, I can," Merida chided back.
"No, you can't."
"Yes, I can."
"No, you can't."
"Yes, I can, yes, I can!" Merida shouted.
Kristoff huffed and rested his fists on his hips.
"Anything you can be I can be greater,
Sooner or later I'm greater than you," he sang.
"No, you're not," Merida grunted.
"Yes, I am."
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am."
"No, you're not."
"Yes, I am, yes I am!" Kristoff shouted this time.
Elsa was enjoying this more than she should.
"I can shoot a partridge with a single cartridge," Kristoff mimicked shooting a gun.
"I can get a sparrow with a bow and arrow," Merida said as she folded her arms over her chest. She wasn't wrong.
"I can live on bread and cheese," he said smugly.
"And only on that?" She asked, somewhat surprised.
"Yep!" Kristoff looked proud.
"So can a rat," Merida sneered and Kristoff's look faltered.
The big guy seemed to think before smiling.
"Any note you can sing I can sing higher," he said and Merida's eyes widened.
"I can sing any note higher than you," she said, poking him in the chest.
"No, you can't."
"Yes, I can."
"No, you can't," Kristoff's singing got higher as he went.
"Yes, I can," Merida on the other hand was just slightly ahead of him.
"No, you can't."
"Yes, I can,"
"No, you can't," Kristoff seemed to have reached his peak.
"Yes, I can!" Merida surprisingly did go really high.
"How do you sing that high?" Kristoff asked in surprise.
"I'm a girl!" Merida shouted and Kristoff cringed. It took him a moment to come up with something else and he smiled.
"Anything you can say I can say softer," he said coyly.
"I can say anything softer than you," Merida retorted.
"No, you can't," he said softly.
"Yes, I can," she returned the softness.
"No, you can't," he said even softer and it was pretty soft.
"Yes, I can," Merida did go softer but it still was louder than his.
"No, you can't." Elsa nearly didn't hear that and the two's faces were so close to one another so they could hear the other over the music it was funny.
"Yes, I can, yes, I can!" Merida snapped and yelled, making Kristoff stumble back.
He cleared his throat before trying again.
"I can drink my liquor faster than a flicker," he bragged.
"I can drink it quicker and get even sicker," Merida made a face, no doubt remembering that night they all got shitfaced.
"I can open any safe," Kristoff said as he puffed out his chest.
"Without being caught?" Merida sounded surprised. Elsa herself didn't even know that, but the man was talented.
"You bet!" He said proudly.
"That's what I thought, you crook," Merida smirked and the man grunted.
Elsa had to stop herself from giggling. The two were so cute together actually.
"Any note you can hold I can hold longer," Kristoff said and Elsa had to pull a face.
"I can hold any note longer than you," Merida huffed and Elsa was more inclined to believe the scott.
"No, you can't," he smirked.
"Yes, I can," she grumbled.
"No, you can't."
"Yes, I can."
"No, you can't," Kristoff was holding that note pretty long but Merida chipped in.
"Yes, I can," Merida took a deep breath before continuing, "yes, I-"
Kristoff's eyes widened as he watched the smaller girl just seemingly have no end in her lungs and Elsa wanted to whistle at the seconds passing by. The music itself seemed to stop as it couldn't keep up.
"-can," Merida looked ready to pass out.
"Yes, you can!
Where do you keep all that air?" He asked, tilting his head. Merida just gave a tired grunt as she placed a hand over where her diaphragm would be.
"Oh…
Anything you can say I can say faster," he tried again.
"I can say anything faster than you," Merida panted a little but was quick to recover at the new challenge.
"No, you can't."
"Yes, I can."
"Noyoucan't." They seemed to get faster and faster.
"Yesican."
"Noyoucan't." They moved closer as they kept trying to go faster.
"Yesican."
"Noyoucan't."
"Yesican." Elsa had a hard time keeping track and it just sounded like chirps.
They jumped apart and huffed.
"I can jump a hurdle," Kristoff smiled.
"I can wear a girdle," Merida retorted as she rested her hands around her waist to make it smaller.
"I can knit a sweater," Kristoff pouted.
"I can fill it better," Merida said as she cupped her breasts, making the blonde blush and clear his throat.
"I can do most anything," he said and looked to the side as he crossed his arms over his chest.
"Can you bake a pie?" Merida asked as she tried to look him in the face.
"No," Kristoff sighed as he looked down.
"Neither can I," Merida admitted as she looked down as well.
This made Kristoff perk and frown at her.
"Anything you can sing I can sing sweeter," he started again.
"I can sing anything sweeter than you," Merida looked a little uncomfortable with this one.
"No, you can't," Kristoff started rather sweetly.
"Yes, I can," Merida wiggled a little as she went sweet as well.
"No, you can't," Kristoff sweetened it even more and it was almost romantic.
"Yes, I can."
"No, you can't."
"Yes, I can."
"No, you can't," Kristoff seemed to get angry.
"Oh, yes, I can," Merida was teasing now.
"No, you can't, can't, can't!" Kristoff barked, losing all sweetness.
"Yes, I can, can, can, can!" Merida met him with the same angry tone. Elsa could tell this was the end with how the music was reaching its climax and they were just about furious with one another.
"No, you can't!"
"Yes, I can!"
The music ended and the two were panting. As the spell broke they looked a little confused. Elsa took this opportunity to make her presence known.
"You two really have a lot of pent up energy, you haven't even started and I already feel like you had a match," she said and they blinked a few times. After taking in their attire and surroundings they seem to have bought it.
"Right, Elsa, will you ref us, Merida might try something dirty," Kristoff grunted.
"Oi!" Merida growled then pounced him. Elsa could only giggle as she watched them fight.
Hope that was good. I highly recommend listening to the song Merida and Kristoff sings, its amazing, I love it. The one I enjoyed was a pokemon animation of the song.
Well, hope to hear from ya'll. Be safe!
Love ya'll to bits.
