Christa: Hime does not own anything.
Nagi was the first to ask a question, "How do we address you?"
"Amber is fine. It is my name after all."
"So Amber is your real name?" questions Rima, searching her face for any lies.
The redhead attempts a reassuring smile as she answers, "My full name is Amber Amulette Hinamori Marian but most people know me as Amber Marian."
"So Hinamori is your mother's maiden name?" guesses Kukai.
Ikuto looked thoughtful as he spoke, "Amu for Amulette right?"
"Yes to both questions"
The two males nodded and Utau proceeded with a question of her own.
"Your appearance now...is your true appearance?"
Amber nodded solemnly.
Ikuto then asks another question, "If Hinamori is your mother's maiden name then that means Midori was your aunt then right?"
"Yes. Ami was my cousin."
Ikuto opens his mouth to ask another but his sister cuts him off.
"Why pink hair?"
Amber smirks, amused, "Hinamori Amu was a spitting image of my late mother, Ame Amethyst Hinamori Marian. She had pink hair and copper eyes. Except as Hinamori Amu, I had to arrange for my eyes to be the same colour as my aunt, Hinamori Midori so that there would be no question that I was her daughter despite having pink hair."
Utau looked baffled after hearing the explanation, "So your birth mother actually had pink hair? Bubblegum pink hair?"
Amber manages not to laugh at the idol's expression and nods as seriously as she could.
"Your mother died?" Rima asks softly, curious.
The redhead nodded blankly until a certain blonde caught her off guard.
"What are your parents like?" Tadase asks suddenly causing the exorcist to blink her eyes in surprise. It took a good one minute for her to finally respond.
"I look most like my father. The only thing I got from my mother is her eye-colour. My father is a respected figure in the organization I am a part of and work for. My father, Cross Marian is an established scholar who is well known for his skills on the battlefield and mastery of alchemy and sorcery. My mother, Ame Marian was known throughout the organization for her beauty and her temper but like my father, she is mostly known for her fighting abilities."
"What exactly is this organization you work for?" Nagi asks once Amber finished.
Fighting ability?
The redhead pursed her lips in thought, trying to find the right words.
"Does the organization work like the military?"
Amber blinked and looked up to see that it was Kukai that said it.
"What makes you say that?"
"Well...that eyepatch guy talked about protocol and the two-dots guy acted like a soldier on a mission. It just makes sense to me."
Christa smirked at his answer, "For the first time since this whole conversation, I am actually impressed. You have very keen observations skills for a jock."
Kukai laughed sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head, "Nahhhh, I just-wait! What do you mean for a jock?"
The witch chara snickered and Amber smirked before answering his question.
"Yes, the organization I work for does similarly work like the military but we are more secretive than normal authorities."
"How so?" questions Tadase, his interest peaked.
"Well we take care of problems that normal authorities could never understand or accept. Even if they did, they do not have the skills and abilities the organization's members have to complete the tasks."
Nagi pressed on, "What are these tasks exactly?"
Amber folds her arms before speaking, "We kill monsters and handle matters that concerns our higher-ups."
"Monsters?" Rima repeats. "Were our kidnappers monsters?"
"Technically they are much worse but you can think of them as such to make things easier for you to comprehend."
What the hell does that mean?
"Why do you deal with these sorts of things?" asks Ikuto. "You're only 13, getting involved in something dangerous is-"
"-unnecessary? Reckless? I cannot help it; I was born into this life. I can't run away from it."
"There are always choices" Ikuto tells her.
Christa snorted, "Nobody can run from fate."
Amber nods, "Besides, I don't want to run away from it again. Bad things happened after I left; our organization's adversaries got stronger, our European Branch HQ was close to complete destruction and close to 200 deaths was recorded in last year alone."
"D-deaths?" Rima repeats.
The redhead nodded but Ikuto wasn't done yet.
"You're 13, you shouldn't be feeling guilty for things adults should be handling."
To his shock, Amber and her small companions on her head laughed almost like they were mocking him.
Utau couldn't believe the nerve!
"What is your problem?"
Christa was the first to recover, moving to sit on Amber's knee with a very amused smirk on her face.
"Look here, Mr Tall, Dark and Broody. My bearer is far stronger compared to the other adults in the organization. Plus her fighting abilities are very much feared by our adversaries. It is only natural for our organization to call her back when the situation became dire."
Almost immediately, everyone turned to look at Amber who was still recovering from her laughter with Timcampy resting on her left shoulder, who flashed the others a toothy grin.
Feared?
Nagi was confused, "But wasn't it her father that came for her?"
The redhead blinked at that until she remembered she took the call publicly in the Royal Guardian on that day.
"Right well, my father was under orders to bring me back."
Ikuto frowned then, "Why would your father involve you in something so dangerous? I would never force my child into anything like what you're doing."
It was then when the seated teens saw Amber scowl for the first time since they were alone.
"My father loves me. He did everything he could, scarified so much so that I could get away and try to live a normal life so don't you dare insinuate my father is a bad parent Tsukiyomi Ikuto."
Ikuto was speechless, not expecting her reaction but Amber continued.
"Plus, for your damn information, my father never forced me into anything I did not want or like to do. He always asked if I was okay. To him, my safety and consent is his number one priority above all else. The main reason I went back there was to be with my father and to end the madness the organization is going through so I can live in peace with my father when it is all over. I love my father will all my heart so watch your mouth."
Ikuto looked like he had been slapped and nodded else felt awkward after that, not knowing what else to say.
After a full two minutes of no one meeting her eyes, she folded her arms and asked.
"Is that all?"
Amber: Please review! Many thanks! :)
