Hime: SHUT UP!

Amber: *sweatdrops* Hime owns nothing...

"Can we go now?" the former Crow guard asks.

Amber sighs, "Link, I need to greet the new team I assigned first before we can go remember?"

"Greet or threaten?" asks Kanda coolly.

The witch turns to him, smiling apologetically. She knew Marie and Kanda were in the same team but she needed to do what she did; the guards she assigned for her friends needed to have better motivation. She wouldn't trust them to do their jobs unless she threatened them. With a start, it came to her.

"That reminds me, why didn't you stop me Kanda? You and Marie are close after all."

Kanda snorts in response, "I know you Kit, you wouldn't really hurt him too badly. That big heart of yours won't allow you to cause any real damage to anyone you consider a comrade."

Amber was surprised, she had seen the looks the others had given her while she was crushing Marie's hand from the corner of her eye & she knew they were worried about Marie but Kanda wasn't concerned at all.

He knows me well even though we're not that close...

Amber wasn't sure how to feel about that.

"Who are the people that will be guarding everyone?" Kukai asks suddenly, his curiosity getting the better of him.

"Ohayo!"

Everyone turned to see it was Arystar Krory who spoke. There were three people by his side, Miranda Lotto, Timothy and...Emilia?

"Why is she here?" Amber demands, pointing at Emilia making Allen flinch. The authority in her voice when she spoke had a very uncomfortable and uncanny resemblance to her father's tone whenever he was upset.

"I-I am here to help Timothy with his learning. H-he has a lot to study Amb-ber-chan. Your father appr-roved of my presence here" Emilia answers, avoiding direct eye contact with the dirty look Amber was giving to the newly arrived team.

The copper-eyed girl folds her arms, narrowing her eyes at them all,"My father's approval? He would have told me if that was so "

Lavi sweatdropped, Amber was getting really upset...should I tell her?

The older redhead was a little worried about telling the younger girl the truth but he knew if he kept it from her any longer and Amber found about it, she'll be a lot more pissed.

"Cross called while you were asleep last night to check in and told us about Emilia." He watched Amber blink as she digested the new information but there was still more for her to hear.

"He also told us he wants you to have closure so you'll be escorting your friends to the Asian branch with me and Kanda."

The silence was heavy as the exorcists watched their leader for her reaction while her friends snuck looks of joy at each other, obviously elated by the news.

The red-haired girl was already fast asleep when Cross called so it was natural that she didn't know about it. Although, the instructions Cross gave them to pass on to her completely slipped their minds until just now. They wondered how she was going to deal with it, hearing it only now and silently hoped she wouldn't fall into one of her dreadful moods.

Amber Marian was not happy obviously, a very dark look crossed her face and the exorcists all watched as the girl took a deep breath and closed her eyes.

"Lavi"

"Y-yes?" he answers, worried for what the little girl would do to him.

"Why didn't you tell me about my father's call earlier?"

"W-well, it was kind of a busy morning and I kind of forgot then Emilia mentioned Cross and I remembered only now and I'm so sorry..."

Another deep breath from the team leader made Lavi seriously worried that Amber was going to lose it any moment.

"You're a Bookman and you actually forgot something?"

It was only then the former Guardians and Ikuto realized something really bad was going to happen, there was a drastic change in the atmosphere; the air felt thick and dense. Amu's back was facing them so they couldn't see her face but Lavi's was in their clear view. He looked guilty and worried. They could even see a bead of sweat drip down the side of his face.

"I'm really sorry Amber. I-"

"Fuck, enough already Lavi. What's done is done." Lavi flinched at the harshness in her tone and watched as Amber opened her eyes.

She looked at all the exorcists, her eyes narrowed. "If I am the leader of a mission, I expect you to tell me all important things as soon as possible. Am I perfectly clear?"

They all nodded quickly except Kanda and Link who was watching her carefully and Amber took another deep breath before speaking again, "Lavi, did my father really say what you said?"

"Yes Amber"

The girl scowls, her expression grim and Miranda for some reason chose that time to speak up, "I'm s-sure your father jus-st wanted the b-best for you Am-mber-chan."

If looks could kill, the German woman would have been dead a hundred times over but before Mirana could apologize, Amber spoke again.

"Miranda Lotto. Arystar Krory. Timothy. Emilia. If anything happens to my friends, I'll rip your windpipes out from your throats and beat you till you can no longer feel pain. Am I perfectly clear?"

The said people all gulped, the killer intent Amber was giving off scared them all. She threw a pair of keys to Timothy who caught it successfully despite shaking from the intensity that was in Amber's gaze.

"Get the fuck out of my sight. All of you. Go to the house and prepare for your new mission."

They didn't need to be told twice, they scrambled out of there as fast as they could and everyone watched them go, pitying them for having to go through the terrifying force that was the witch's anger.

"We can all disperse now" Amber says, turning around so that the chara bearers could see her front again.

The non-exorcists could not suppress the shiver they got the moment they saw Amber's expression. She looked downright terrifying.

"Wait"

Amber turns and Link wasted no time in shoving the item he pulled out from his pocket while the girl was talking into the witch's mouth. The others were horrified, some angry.

"What the hell Link?!" yells Allen, grabbing his comrade by the arm.

The 19 year old ignores him and moves to cover Amber's eyes with his free hand. Lavi was sweating bullets wondering what the hell Link up to and what Amber was going to do.

Does Two-Dots have a death wish or something?

The close to 13 year old uses her tongue to lick the item that was in her mouth and was surprised to find what she found.

"Strawberry" she murmurs so softly that it was barely audible to the people around her.

Leenalee looks at her, very confused by what she said and then she realized something, the killer intent somehow was dissipating.

What the heck is in her mouth that made her calm down?

Ever so slowly, Link removes his hand from her eyes and direct eye contact was made; his eyes meeting Amber's beautiful copper ones.

She's calm...for now.

Amber pulls the stick from her mouth and everyone except Link stares dumbfounded seeing that it was a just a big, red lollipop. She looks up at Link, curious, "Why?"

"I remember you like sweets" he answers simply.

The girl tilts her head, clearly confused but decided that she was way too emotionally exhausted to bother with something so trivial, "Okay then...thank you I guess?"

The killer intent was completely gone now and Amber's undeniably innocent and cute confused expression became the center of attention of everyone.

Leenalee cautiously comes close towards the girl and bends forward to make direct eye contact with her, "Since everything is done here...Link, Allen and I will leave first is that okay?"

Amber nods as pops the lollipop back in her mouth before saying, "Take care you guys, all of you."

She smiles, the white stick still protruding in her mouth but everyone couldn't help but relax at the sight.

A smiles suits her best.

"We'll be off then Amber" Allen tells her coming toward his girlfriend. The teen's adoptive sister sees this and pouts, "Aren't you going to hug your little sister goodbye?"

Leenalee giggles at the familiar cheekiness Amber displays ever so often. Allen chucks as well and leans forward, wrapping his arms around her who cheerily returned the hug. Allen kisses his sister's hand, "Take care"

"I will" she answers him before kissing his cheek somehow despite having a lollipop in her mouth.

"Hold it"

The siblings turned to look at Ikuto who spoke, "Yes?"

"You two are siblings?"

"He's my father's adopted son making him my older brother too." the red-haired girl answers, smiling and wraps her arms around Allen's neck, giggling,

Amber's old friends stared, it took a while for Rima to snap, "You didn't mention this before!"

"You didn't ask."

Rima scowls but all her old friend did was shrug in return before finally removing her arms from the pinkish Allen making her smirk at how cute he looked all shy. She pushed it further by kissing his cheek again and Allen's face flamed causing the girl snicker. After exchanging goodbyes properly with everyone else, Allen, Leenalee and Link waved goodbye as they walked away from everyone to head for transport home.

Amber turns in Lavi's direction, catching the older redhead off guard who flinched immediately. Just because the girl has calmed down, it did not mean that she wasn't still mad at him. Turns out she wasn't though. She moved and took Lavi's hand in hers, smiling sweetly.

"Let's go"

Lavi thought his heart was going to melt, seeing her smile like that. Good grief the girl was going to be death of him.

Kanda watched all of this, severely annoyed until Amber firmly took his hand in her other hand so now she was holding hands with both Lavi and Kanda. He looked at her, confused but Amber was still smiling.

"We should get going too yeah?"

With that, she started walking, dragging Lavi and Kanda by the hands. "Minna! Follow us!"

The chara bearers heard and followed, puzzled and a little jealous how close she was being with the two 18 year old exorcists but decided not to argue. They just counted their stars Amu was going to be their escort now.

Amber's hands were warm and her smile was bright so it didn't take long for Kanda and Lavi to relax and intertwine their fingers with hers, holding hands with her properly making Amber smile even wider and squeeze their hands in her small ones. They turned to look at her, who seemed cheerful and even started humming making the two teenagers feel even more at ease.

It was then, they remembered how when they were undercover in Japan, this was how the trio walked together. Amber would either hold both their hands or just one of them and she would smile and hum as they walk. Today, they were leaving Japan and right now, this moment, would probably be the last time they could walk together and hold hands with her like this.
