Silence reigned as everyone stood on the sandy shore of an unnamed and charted island. Said island was also a significant pain in the ass to get to. And the person who had guided them was wearing a bittersweet smile on their lips. Six months had come and gone in what felt like a blink of an eye. The interactions and bonds built were not insincere but the kind that'd last for a lifetime.

Though all gathered knew the chance of them ever meeting again was non-existent. It had been tense, awkward, and at times outright stranger than fiction after the duo had hitched a ride. Learning to coexist in a small space with the odd woman and dog turned man, whom they'd all thought was her pet. Yet, when the dog, Sehomaru, shifted for the first time, it had been a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Especially when the Captain had clashed with it... no him.

The little woman had been a ball of energy and curiosity. She was indeed a dauntless person. One who knew knowledge embraced the weight of said knowledge and didn't care about its repercussions. She also didn't care about the differences or flaws in others around her. She accepted and embraced it and didn't give a fuck. It made her very relatable to them.

Law stared down at the petite woman, Kagome, before shifting his gaze to her companion. Since the beginning, he'd not been fond of the dog-turned-humanoid. Even now, Law was not particularly fond of Sehomaru. Their personalities clashed, as did their goals. But Law could respect his loyalty to Kagome.

His eyes narrowed as he let his gaze return to Kagomes', hers unwavering. He knew full well not to guess what she had in that jumbled mess she called a mind. In the past six months, he learned a lot. Law had been pushed to the brink of what little sanity he had. Yet Law knew what kind of person lusted after her. And he also knew he'd found a person he trusted almost as much as himself.

Checking his thoughts and feelings, Law couldn't find any regrets. And after the contract had ended, waking him from a dead sleep. His body covered in a cold sweat akin to being doused with ice water, he was glad she was leaving his ship. The contract ending was not a pleasant experience. And the damn, hysterical laughter from Kagome after he had stormed into her, Sehomaru's, and Bepo's room was infuriating.

The damn witch hadn't even tried to apologize or appease him. No, she just sat on the floor in her bedding, laughing until she cried and hiccuped. It had been Sehomaru who had explained his uncomfortable wake-up call.

"Goodbye, Captain Law, May the winds and currents favor you. And fortune blesses you in the Days to come."

Slowly he blinked as the words of farewell registered in his mind. It was an old sailor's blessing. Law could tell Kagome meant every word she said as he saw the sadness flicker in the depths of her ocean-colored eyes. Law turned and made his way back to his sub with a slight nod of his head. Law would not give her a farewell in return. It wasn't his style, and she'd practically blackmailed him before binding him to her with a contract signed in blood. However, she was honest about her underhanded tactics. Kagome had honor as well, so he could respect her for that.

The sounds of his crew following behind him had Law pausing as he climbed up to the deck. Slowly, Law looked over his shoulder to see Sehomaru holding the tiny woman in his arms. His hands smoothed Kagome's dark hair as she cried, showing she had gotten attached. Irony as it dawned upon him, his ship was going to quiet. And uneventful until he met up with Muggywara in a month at Punk Hazard.

Kagome felt the gaze on her as she buried her face into Sehomaru's chest. She didn't have to look up to know he knew she had gotten attached to his crew and himself. There were no romantic feelings for him. Just an odd sense of family. Though her own blood-related little brother acted anything like Law, Kagome was sure she'd have beaten Souta. The man, till the end, was infuriating and as stubborn as herself.

"Time will lessen the longing and need. You are a being of immortality. Time doesn't touch you."

At sehomaru's words, Kagome snorted rudely. His words were accurate and true, but still, she didn't want to hear them. But she was still of human origins and needed interactions with other beings. Besides, soon enough, Sehomaru would leave her as all of his lineages had. It was almost time for him to return to find a mate and produce the next guardian for her. A cycle so old now it was lamentable. He'd return with His heir so they could bond with her. Yet Kagome smiled as she extracted her body from Sehomaru's embrace. Thanks to Law, she had seen many outcomes of the future end with Luffy becoming the King of Pirates as was his birthright.

This would bring change to the world. And then Kagome's original wish would be granted. She knew no wish was selfless. But Luffy reaching One Piece would complete her and the Shikon no Tama. Meaning Kagome could go back in time and start from the beginning of her adventure again. Whether her memories were intact or not, she didn't know. But this was the Devil in the Deal she had made with her original wish.
