The General's Daughter Chapter 49: My Name Is Yumi!, a D.Gray-Man + Shugo Chara! Crossover fanfic

Kanda rushes out of the shower hearing Amber scream.

Once he reaches the room, he sees Amber staring and pointing at something in fright, "Get away! You're not mine!"

"Kit-"

"Leave you weasel! You and your girliness is not my problem!"

Kanda was really confused now as Amber was pointing to something he could not even see along with the crowd of people coming into their room AKA Cross, exorcist team and the Guardians.

Ikuto was the first to speak, "Just got out of the shower Kanda?"

Kanda glared, water dripping from his long hair and lean, chiseled body as he stood there with his towel tied around his waist.

Meanwhile, Lavi was staring at Amber who was dressed in a crochet trimmed, maroon colored romper so he could clearly see her ample long arms and legs perfectly as she sat propped up on her bed. Amber's long hair was tied into a high updo bun on her head, her pretty face in clear sight. Lavi's thoughts however were interrupted by a smack on the head by Allen who glared threateningly at his friend.

Kukai followed Amber's finger and finally realized what she was pointing at, "You have a new Guardian character! That's awesome!"

The Guardians and Ikuto finally saw her too and couldn't hide their elation at the sight but before their own charas could come forward to see the newly born character better, Amber spoke up.

"This fairy like thing is not mine!"

"But Amu-chan! I'm-!"

"Shut up!"

"You can't talk to your would-be-self like that!"

"Shut it Rima!"

Cross coughed into his fist, halting any further argument.

"Amber, maybe you should make the guardian characters visible to everybody before you continue."

Amber shook her head violently, completely against the idea so Cross moved his hand over his daughter's choker and whispered the spell and ever so slowly, the exorcists finally saw the 'would-be-selves' they were talking about.

Amber's apparently new guardian character was a little fairy like creature with face glitter, big sparkly amethyst eyes, porcelain skin and long lavender colored hair. She had on a cream pink sleeveless dress that ended just above the knee with matching pink ballet shoes and a four leaf clover colored ribbon in her hair.

"Awww she's so cute!" Leenalee gushed.

A huge amount of killer intent came forth then sending chills to everybody.

"She is not cute. She is pest."

"I have a name Amulette!"

"Pests don't have names."

"You shouldn't be rude to to your chara Amu-chan." Nagi voices out before the newly-born guardian character could defend herself.

"She is not who I want to be! Look at her! Christa is who I want to be! Not some girly pansy!"

"My name is Yumi!"

Christa sighs loudly, catching the attention of Kanda who is the first of the humans in the room to notice her.

"You do remind me of Kit but I think the purple pipsqueak reminds me of her too."

Christa blinks surprised that Kanda was actually addressing her before but decided against talking to him at least for now because she had made up her mind. Christa represented Amber's desire to be level-headed, strong and powerful just like her father but the goth chara understood that Yumi represented her mistress's desire to be feminine and more expressive of her real feelings. Amber Marian could deny all she likes but Yumi is her would be self thus making it so that Christa had a new sister.

Everyone looks on as the tiny goth chara comes up toward the newborn and hugs her awkwardly causing Amber's jaw to drop. "Christa!"

Yumi whispers softly that only her goth sister could hear, "Character Transform"

Everyone in the room were blinded momentarily by a bright white light that made them shield away but when it finally died down, they stared at Amber Marian in amazement. Amber's entirely new outfit consisted of a amethyst high-waisted, hip-length frock and matching ballet shoes with the laces that were tied all the way up to her knees. Amber's long, silky and voluminous hair was now in pigtails with jeweled accessories that was reminiscent of the multi-colored four leaf clover jewel design Yumi was wearing.

"Amulet Siren!"

Cross cursed loudly and quickly threw a blanket a his daughter.

"Cover yourself up right now young lady! Take that revealing shit off!"

"So you want me to cover up or take it off?"

Cross glared but Amber just smirked reminding Bak of a fairy he met once on his travels. Fairies were intensely beautiful creatures but extremely manipulative and cunning. Creatures that magical folk were afraid of mixing around with.

Yup, sounds like Amber Marian alright.

"Amber you look incredible!" Lavi couldn't help but say which only caused a growl from the older redhead.

"I said undo the transformation!"

Amber snorted and skipped off the bed to look at the full length mirror.

"Daddy, I look like Grand-mère in her fairy form."

"No you don't because if you did I would be having heart palpitations. Now cover up already."

Ikuto studied the wing-like markings on her back and shoulders, if you didn't look closely, it would seem like she had on a lace cover-up of some kind. The name Amulet Siren was triggering his inner curiosity. He wondered what did Amulet Siren actually represent.

Amber smiled mischievously in the mirror suddenly and turned back to her father, "I will leave instead, Kanda you can stand guard at the underground training room door. I will be inside testing out these new powers. Au Revoir!"

Cross's jaw dropped as his daughter phased through the ground with ease.

"AMBER AMU AMULETTE HINAMORI MARIAN GET BACK HERE THIS INSTANT!"

Christa sighed deeply, realizing that her interpretation of Yumi could be wrong. Amulet Siren sounded like a lot more trouble than Amulet Cross. To be honest, Christa was expecting a name like Amulet Hime seeing how girly and princessy Yumi is but it seems like Yumi is much more than her looks.

Deciding it best, she followed them, she left the room also to avoid the panicky father.

Hours Later

Cross stomped over to his daughter, screaming at her in the cafeteria at dinnertime but Amber had cared less. Kanda watched with his peers, seemingly quiet while everyone else felt awkward seeing Amber being scolded by her parent. However Kanda knew better, Cross was seeing what he was seeing; something changed since her transformation and it was beginning to worry Kanda. He hasn't seen her shown a hint of her usually bubbly personality since she came out from the training room. In the training room, he couldn't hear a thing and it bugged him because it made him curious on her guardian character didn't help that she had very visible bruises on herself' her cheek, her left temple, her right forearm and her left knee. She didn't even bother to heal herself.

He just hoped Amber would get back to normal soon.

Amber had just looked blankly at her father throughout , sitting at the table with one leg crossed over the other. She tuned out her father as her mind whirled with battle tactics Amulet Siren could use.

Once Cross returned to his room, he groaned as he sat in his armchair exhausted because he didn't sleep a wink. Amber hasn't changed her attitude to her normal personality and it was worrying him. She seemed distant, scheming something and Cross was beginning to feel like he needed to intervene but his daughter wasn''t listening to him. She was obsessed with her newfound powers and sporting more bruises and refusing to heal herself or let him heal them.

She was displaying signs of obsession towards her new powers and if Cross don't snap her out of it, Amber would be losing sight of everything but herself. It is actually very common for the Marian family members to exhibit this compulsive obsessive behavior but it doesn't make it good though.

Cross sighed and took out his little bottle of vodka until the speakers began playing music he had never heard before.

The kingdom has finally become
And the world cannot deny
What was once laid to rest
Has come back to life

Then a voice he actually recognizes as his daughter's sings along.

I know I'm ready for it

Cross was amazed, his daughter's voice had never sounded so powerful yet controlled at the same time. Then another unfamiliar voice joins in and the song he realizes is a duo and his daughter singing together

The third unfamiliar voice sings her solo verse and Cross finally decided he needs to get to the bottom of this so he leaves his comfortable armchair to head to the control room.

And now she's back more powerful than ever
Yeah, this time she'll stand before us and she'll reign forever
And all of this glory of royalty beyond measure
There's no stopping her now, it can't get any better

Cross reaches the control room where everyone seemed to be talking to Kanda on the big screen.

"Amber's locked herself inside so you can't see what she's doing?"

"Who is the people she's with?"

"I don't know! Why on earth would she be randomly singing now?"

The duo sings next verse together as Fo appears at the doorway watching Kanda argue with Lavi and Allen.

I feel it in my soul
I know I'm ready for it
And now she's stronger than before
Ready to rock this world
We're taking it down one by one
Time to go all the way 'til the battle is done

They end with the chorus with Amber but something in her voice shook the hearts of her audience as if this was Amber's way of saying she was ready for what was coming. This song, you could hear something dark yet strong. Gone was the sweet voice that sang acoustic with her father days ago, now was a voice that had promise and prowess that tugged at the heartstrings.

The song ends and everyone looks at each other, wondering what was going to happen from here on out with Amber.

"Amber sang this song for a reason."

Everyone turned to see For with a serious expression on her face.

"Amber will not be put down by anyone. She is going fight hard in this war."

Kanda frowned, still more confused than ever and decided that the redhead needed to have an intervention.

"You are being ridiculous Father. I am not obsessed."

Cross scowled immediately at the address because his daughter rarely ever called him as such.

"Amber you randomly sang over the speakers about being on the top of the world. Your new powers are getting to you."

"No they are not- I just-"

"Who were the other voices you were singing with?"

"Secret."

Cross raises an eyebrow, now curious because his daughter rarely kept things from.

"If that's the case, I'm giving you an assignment to derail all that adrenaline high you're on."

"I am not on a-"

"-Amber you are going to have a battle royal so that you can test out your powers against the others."

Intrigued was an understatement, the Guardians and Ikuto were curious on seeing the aftereffects of the Humpty Lock's power on the girl's transformations whilst the exorcists were curious on how much more damage Amber could do.

The little redhead sighs knowing fully well no one was going to let her drop it so she relented and agreed with her father to hold the battles the next day however, before she went, he cast a quick spell on her male exorcist teammates and flew off on her broom before her father could blink.

It took a few good minutes for the exorcists to make sense of what they were seeing in their heads and Kanda was the first to recollect what happened. (Chapter 10)

"We saw Amber fighting in a transformation before but-"

"-we only remembered it just now because she wiped our memories." Link finished, sounding irked at the fact.

Ikuto frowned, "Fighting somebody or a black egg with a white X on it?"

Allen rubbed his temples, the migraine hurting him like a bitch, "She was with some blue-eyed blonde French girl fighting a black X egg together."

Tadase's eyes widened in shock, "Lulu?"

Lavi shook his head, "We didn't hear a name."

Rima felt like banging her head against a wall in frustration.

She hated all the damn secrecy.

Why can't Amu/Amber be straightforward?

It was driving her nuts!
