"A nice, honest girl…" Wrath had stated, rather simply. It was in a conversational tone, but the poisonous threat laced inside sent chills through Edward's spine. Those four simple words were each like a dagger stabbing him in the heart.
"Don't you dare lay a hand on Winry!" he had shouted, his primal instincts roaring at the mere thought. Wrath had brought out a beast in him no one had ever seen before. Both Alphonse and Roy looked rather shocked at his outburst: the look on his face could have sent a rabid dog away with its tail between its legs. Wrath had done his job well. He had found the kryptonite of the FullMetal Alchemist.
