"King Moonracer?" Snow Miser asked. "Never heard of him."
"Neither have I," added Tingler.
"I don't know who he is, but he obviously knows who I am," Nina said.
"Maybe he's a racecar driver," Snow suggested.
"I doubt it, unless he has a flair for the dramatic. I mean, look at this invitation." Nina held it out. The invitation was on a thick card, and the words were in gold lettering.
Tingler gently took it and read it out loud. "You are cordially invited to a party, held by his majesty King Moonracer." He looked up. "It doesn't say where it is or what the party is for."
Nina looked inside the envelope and pulled out a piece of paper. "There's a map in here." She laid it out in a table and studied it. "It looks like it's going to be on an island not very far from here. I can easily find it."
Snow looked unsure. "I don't know, honey. It seems sketchy to me. You don't even know this guy. Why don't you just ignore the invitation?"
"I want to see what King Moonracer wants with me. It may be bad, but it may be good, too. Either way, he can't be any worse than anyone else I've faced."
"Take us with you," Tingler insisted. "You shouldn't go alone."
"That's a great idea," Nina stated. "We'll go together, all three of us."
Seeming pleased with this idea, Snow stated, "Yeah, and we can pick out our outfits for the party."
"What if there is no party?" asked Tingler.
"Then, at least we'll be well-dressed."
Nina, Snow Miser, and Tingler packed some of their things, including nice clothes for the party, then put their luggage in Nina's airplane. They had already said their goodbyes to their family and friends at the North Pole. The only thing left to do was leave.
The three climbed into the cockpit and took off. Nina flew, Tingler was in the passenger seat, and Snow sat behind Tingler. Tingler held the map open, navigating.
"I have a pretty good idea how to get there," Nina said. "I think I'll just need a little help finding the place once we get close to it."
Snow rested his chin on Tingler's shoulder. "I'll help by giving you directions."
Nina smirked. "You'll try to send us to Nigeria or China."
"I wouldn't do that," Snow stated, innocently.
Nina shook her head, grinning. Snow kissed Tingler's cheek, and Tingler blushed. "Honey, you make a great copilot," Snow told him. "With your help, we'll get to that island in no time."
"You're too kind," Tingler said.
"Only the best compliments for my partners."
It didn't take them long to get near the spot marked on the map. As they approached it, a dense fog enveloped the airplane. As Nina focused on getting through it safely, Snow Miser and Tingler waited on the edge of their seats.
"Don't worry, guys. I'm being careful," Nina reassured them, never taking her eyes off the windshield.
"We know," Snow Miser told her. "You're the best pilot in the world."
A few seconds later, Tingler pointed. "There's a light down there!"
They looked down and saw a thin red light piercing through the fog. Nina took a quick look at the map and stated, "We're here."
"How are you going to land? We can't see a thing," said Snow.
"Leave it to me, darling," Nina answered, calmly. With great concentration and skill, she slowly descended the plane.
Gradually, an island appeared below them. It was covered in snow and ice and seemed bare except for a purple castle in the distance. Nina landed the airplane on a patch of clear ground next to two figures who waved at them. Once they exited the aircraft, they could see the figures clearly. One was an elf with blonde hair. He wore a blue hat with a pink ribbon, a blue coat with a black belt and gold belt buckle, pink pants, and black shoes. The other was a brown reindeer whose most distinct feature was his red nose, and it was he who greeted the trio, first. In a cheerful voice, he exclaimed, "Welcome to the Island of Misfits!"
