"Mom, Dad I'm home!" Tommy called as he and J.J walked into the house. The home was nice even though it felt weird being in his father's childhood home, but he felt at home anyway. Pictures of his father and his parents lined the walls. J.J knew that there won't be any with Tommy as a baby, but he didn't care. A trophy case sat by the door and J.J. could not help but smile. Tommy's mom came into view and even though J.J knows what his grandparents look it. It seemed weird to see them young. Much like his father and his friends he realized.
"Oh hello, Tommy. How was your day in the park?" his grandmother asked. Tommy smiled as he threw his bag on the floor by the door.
"It was good. Um, mom, this is J.J. We found him in the park. He's my biological cousin," Tommy said looking at J.J who smiled and waved but he felt shy all of a sudden. J.J waved as his grandmother walked over to him and smiled.
"Well, it's nice to meet you J.J," she held out her hand. J.J took it and smiled a little.
'It's nice to meet you," J.J said shaking her hand. He could tell his face was nervous, but he knew this will work. "I hope you don't mind that I'm here," J.J said looking down to the floor. His grandma shook his head.
"It is alright dear. It's nice for Tommy to know more of his biological family," His grandmother said with a bright smile. Tommy and J.J smiled but they didn't say anything as they both nodded and walked to the stairs.
"We will be in my room," Tommy said as father and son walked up the stairs.
J.J was smiling when he listed to his father's stories about him being a kid. Sure, he heard most of these stories but his father in his time forgot some of the details. Which made J.J smile at him. "This is weird to ask but how did you act like as a kid. I know I will figure it out and I know I'll forget that I met you but I kind of want to know," Tommy asked looking at the door when he heard the front door close.
"Dad's home," Tommy added. However, before J.J could say anything a small knock on Tommy's door cut him off.
"Tom, I'm home. Mom said that you had a cousin that you're hanging out with. Can I meet him?" Tommy smiled and looked at J.J who let out a sigh of relief. It's not that he didn't want to talk about his childhood it's just there was one day of it that he knew will come up and J.J didn't know how to talk about it. It also brings up the topic of why he hatted hospitals.
"Sure dad. We will be right out," Tommy said walking over to the door and opening it. In the doorway stood Tommy's father. He waved as Tommy walked out of the way so J.J can be seen. J.J got off the bed and waved. He was a little nervous. Even though he knew that this was his grandfather, but he was still shaking.
"It's ok to be nervous," his grandfather's voice said making Tommy smile. "Now Tommy's mom didn't tell me your name," he said holding out his hand. J.J smiled and limped over to his grandfather.
"J.J," he said taking his grandfather's hand and shook it.
"It's nice to meet you J.J. Are you boy's hungry?" Tommy's father asked. Tommy and J.J both nodded and the two walked out of the room and down the stairs following Tommy's father.
