Inspired by the song, 'See You Again' by Carrie Underwood && 'Emma sees Robin' scene from General Hospital.

Barry stands, looking into the full-length mirror in front of him. He adjusts his suit and his tie before being satisfied with his look. He gives a half-smile, the joy not reaching his eyes and he rubs his ring finger - missing the feeling of what used to be there. He frowns, looking over to a small box on his dresser, and slowly walks over to it. As he lifts the lid, the shine of three rings comes into view - his wedding band along with another wedding band and an engagement ring. He grabs the rings, holding them in his hands as he sits on the edge of his bed. Memories flooding in his mind of his deceased wife.

Two Years Ago

Joe, a family friend, rushed into his office with panic and worry on his face. "Barry!" he screamed before trying to regain his breath - since he ran up the stairs. Barry looked up from his reports with confusion, that shifted to concern at the tone in Joe's voice. "It's... It's STAR labs... explosion... building on fire" Joe choked out before regaining his composer.

"Caitlin," Barry breathed before he ran past the man. As he got downstairs he noticed the television screens covering the scene of the burning building. Tears bridged his eyes and he shook his head in disbelief. He ran out of the building, into his car, and drove as fast as he could.

It was a horrible scene unfolding before his eyes. Barricades had blocked him from getting too close but he fought his way pleading with the officers to let him through. A familiar voice cried through the noise. He looked over as slight relief filled his face. "Let him through, please," Cisco told them before the friends engulfed each other into a hug.

At that moment, Barry felt the tears stain his shirt as Cisco cried into his shoulder. He slightly pulled away, keeping his hands on Cisco's shoulders. "Where... Where's Caitlin?" As the question left his mouth, Cisco cried more losing the feeling to stand, and fell to his knees. "Cisco! Where's Caitlin? Where's my wife?" he called out as tears started to build up in his eyes, having a feeling he knew the answer but, he wanted to hear it from his friend.

Cisco looked into Barry's eyes and shook his head trying to find the strength to answer. "She... she," he croaked as images flashed before his eyes. "She's gone..." he breathed as the tears flooded his eyes.

Barry's breath stocked. Time froze around him. His world - gone. "No," he barely breathed and shook his head. "No, you're lying. Where is she Cisco?!" he screamed grabbing him by the shirt pulling his friend to his feet.

"SHE'S GONE!" Cisco cried into Barry's face as he pushed him away. "That explosion was by her lab - she was locked inside. I ran to save her but I was too late," he sniffed rubbing his nose. "The flames were too severe," he cried. "She's gone."

At that moment, a gurney came into Barry's peripheral vision. It was covered up but he knew who it was. He rushed over to it as Cisco called out for him to stop. "Let me see the body, I need to see if that's my wife," he pushed as the paramedics held him back, explaining that the body was burned beyond recognition. "Is that my wife?" he asked with frustrated tears, hoping this was all some sick joke and that Caitlin was safely inside, unharmed. Then one of the paramedics handed him something shiny - her rings.

As they explained that they found them on the body, Barry felt his body go numb. The rings being the confirmation that his love was gone. He lost his ability to stand, fell to his knees, clutching the rings in his hands before a horrid cry left his lips. "No, Cait. You can't be gone. You are not gone! Baby! Come back!" he screamed at the sky before his world went dark.

A fresh set of tears are streaming his face as he holds the same rings in his hand, leaving an indention on his palm. "I miss you, everyday baby," he breathes as he looks at the jewelry one last time. As he puts them away, the sound of running footprints fills the silent air.

"Daddy, I'm ready!" his joyful daughter smiles as she twirls in her flower girl dress. "Do I look pretty?" she asks with her toothless grin. Barry quickly tries to wipe the tears away but, his daughter knows best. "What's wrong daddy?"

He gives a heart-fill smile as he bends down to her level, "It's nothing baby girl, daddy is just feeling a little emotional today." He grabs her arms as he examines the dress. "You look beautiful... just like your mom", he whispers the last part to himself.

The little girl smiles and wraps her arms around his neck tightly as he wraps his arms around her picking her up in his arms. "And you look handsome daddy!" she adds leaving one arm around his neck as he sits her on his hip. "You ready to marry Iris?" she asks slightly turning her head to the side.

Barry swallows the lump in his throat before shaking his head. "Yeah," he croaks with a forced smile then hugs his daughter tightly again before setting her on her feet. "I want you to remember, Iris, isn't replacing your mom -"

"I know daddy. She just gonna help take care of us while mommy is in heaven," she innocently adds with a small smile. Thinking one day, her mom will come home.

A part of him still feels this whole wedding is wrong - it's too soon. He just took off his wedding ring last month and now, here he is about to marry another woman. He couldn't help but fight this feeling that Caitlin is still alive somewhere out there, waiting for him to rescue her. Then logic sets in and silences his small flame of hope. "Come on sweetheart, we got to get going or we will be late."

"Don't want that!" she giggles then skips out of his room.

He stops in the doorway, looks back at the room he has only shared with Caitlin, and lets out a heavy sigh while looking up. "Forgive me, love. I'm only doing this for Via. She needs a mother figure... I can't do this on my own." He lets a few tears slide before wiping them away and heading to the chapel.

Surrounded by friends and family from both sides, the wedding is going well. The couple-to-be has just finished saying their vows to Via - Barry's idea that this marriage is about his daughter and her well being. It is now time to finally say 'I do' - to become husband and wife. Iris says her part and it is now Barry's turn.

"Barry, I believe that is your cue," Felicity, his friend and the marriage officiant, whispers to him with a nudge. He stands there, holding Iris' hands in his, with his daughter standing in front of Felicity looking up at them with a smile on her face.

He looks into Iris' eyes and sees her smile. He gives a half-smile then licks his lips. Doubt starts running through his mind as the only person to bring him love and peace is Caitlin. He still only loves her and when he looks into Iris' eyes he can't find that love he is longing for. Before he can say a word his daughter's voice echoes in his head.

Something caught the little girl's eye by the doors. She looks over and feels her breath stock seeing a face she has been longing for. "Mommy?" Confusion washes over everyone's face as they watch the flower girl. She pulls the couple's hands apart to get a better look at the woman standing at the end of the aisle. "Mommy!" she yells with a smile and starts to run towards the woman. "MOMMY!" she cries as she collides into the woman's arms.

Barry stops and looks in the direction his daughter ran. His mouth hangs open as the love of his life lifts their daughter into her arms for a tight hug. He can see tears in her eyes before they get buried into their daughter's hair. "Caitlin," he whispers as tears of joy fill his eyes.

Caitlin holds tightly onto her daughter as tears of content and relief stream down her face. "My baby," she whispers into her daughter's ear. "Mommy's here, baby. I'm here," she cries not wanting to let go for a second. Her limbs start to become numb at the realization that her daughter has grown. She gradually falls to her knees, keeping her daughter close, as she examines her face.

"I've missed you so much!" the little girl cries. "Please don't leave me again," she continues to cry before wrapping her arms around her mother's neck, afraid if she let go Caitlin would disappear.

Before she can reply, Barry's voice rings in her ears, "Cait! Cait!" he cries running up to them. He kneels beside them. Via slowly lets go of her hold on her mother, sitting next to her, to look up at her father. Barry places his hands on her face, holding her inches away from his. "Baby, is it really you?" he barely whispers but he knows she can hear him. "Is this real?"

Caitlin gives a weak smile and places her hands on his arms, securing his hold. "Barry, I'm alive," she whispers. As the words slip out her mouth, Barry collides his lips onto hers. They kiss with passion, love, and hunger, having missed the other. Caitlin slowly pulls away when the need for air came but also, from the slight embarrassment of kissing each other like that in front of their daughter.

His lips numb from the bruised kisses, he pulls her into his arms not wanting to let her go. "Oh baby, I thought I would never see you again," he breathes as the tears return to his eyes. It is then, a realization comes to his mind. "How are you here?" he asks pulling away to fully examine her face, now seeing faint scarring and bruises over her. "What happened to you?"

Caitlin bites her lip, as she looks into his eyes then over to Via's. She swallows a lump in her throat before looking back into her husband's loving eyes. "The explosion," she breathes, "It was a setup. Someone took me out of my lab and held me, prisoner." She watches as horror fills his eyes. The tears start to build up as she tries to continue her tale. "They needed me to help them with an impossible project," she shakes her head. "I tried so hard to escape but every time I did, they would lock me away," she stops to see her daughter's eyes with concern. She then leans into his ear, whispering "They tortured me when I wouldn't listen. Threatened to hurt you and Via." She explains as she grabs and squeezes her daughter's hand and his shoulder with her other hand.

Before she can finish her tale, Barry wraps her and their daughter in his arms tight. "Shh baby, it's okay. I got you now. You're home, baby," he breathes with a smile. "You're home."

Barry changes out of his suit into comfortable clothes then grabs an extra shirt and shorts for his wife. Caitlin's reappearance caused some issues at the church and ultimately a decision had to be made - by Barry. The choice was obvious to him - he knew where he belonged. Just before he heads downstairs, he looks over at his little box on his dresser and smiles.

Caitlin is sitting on the couch with her daughter as they cuddle close to each other. She smiles as she plays with her daughter's long auburn hair. "You've gotten so big, sweetie," she coos rubbing her nose on her daughter's cheek.

Via giggles then kisses her mother's cheek. "I'm five now, can you believe it?" she smiles back holding up her hand.

"Time sure has gone by so fast," she whispers as her emotions start to get the better of her. "And I've missed so much," she frowns as a few tears slide down her cheeks.

"Mommy please don't cry! Everything will be okay." She hugs her mother tightly, burying her face into her neck as Caitlin hugs her back.

Barry watches the scene unfold from afar with a smile, giving his girls their moment. When he hears Caitlin's voice crack, he walks over to sit next to her. "That's right, Via. Everything will be better now that mommy is home for good," he smiles as he wraps his arm around Caitlin's shoulders, pulling them into a tight hug, then kisses Caitlin's cheek. "Why don't you go change baby, refresh and relax," he smiles as she takes the clothes from him; acknowledging him with a smile.

Caitlin changes out her clothes and the family starts to watch a movie together. Via falls asleep, twenty minutes into the film, happily on her mother's lap as Caitlin plays with her hair. Barry has his arm around her shoulder, making her lean against his chest. The moment is perfect - everything she has dreamed about for two years. She feels at peace but at the same time, she can't shake the feeling that this is just a dream and she'll wake up alone in the darkroom - again.

Living in the moment, Barry smiles with content, squeezing his wife's shoulder every now and again - making sure she is really there. He then senses something bothering her, "Cait, you okay?" She hums as a response but, he isn't having it. He pauses the movie and shifts to look at her as he grabs her free hand. "Baby, you're home - you're here. This is not a dream." He cups her cheeks in his hands. "This is real. I am real, Via is real, you are real, this -" he gestures to everything surrounding them, "is real."

He kisses her forehead then continues down her face to her nose, both her cheeks and stopping at her lips. He feels her deepen the kiss so he kisses back - missing the feeling of her lips on his. He slowly pulls away leaving his forehead on hers. "I have missed you so much," he whispers lovingly. "You are never leaving my side again."

She lightly giggles at his confession as his lips brush against hers. She intertwines her fingers in his hair. "I've missed you much Bar, it hurts," a tear falls as she takes a deep breath. "You kept me alive, you know that? You and Via." She looks down at her sleepily daughter then back to her husband. "You are my everything - you saved me, Barry." She pushes his lip back onto hers for a sweet kiss then rubs her nose against his. "I love you, Barry Allen," she whispers with a smile.

"I love you, Caitlin Allen," he whispers as his thumb rubs her cheek. "Marry me, again?" He feels her pull away with an amused look on her face. He chuckles as he digs in his pocket revealing their rings. A small gasp leaves her lips as he gets down on one knee. "Caitlin Allen, you are the only love of my life. You are my world. The day you were taken away from me, nearly destroyed me. I don't ever want to be without you by my side. When you take this ring, I promise to protect you and our beautiful daughter till my last breath. I love you, Cait. Will you stand by my side for the rest of our lives as my beautiful wife?"

Tears streaming down her face as she hastily wipes them away. Each word causing her heart to burst. She covers her mouth, not wanting to wake Via with any squeals that may escape from her mouth, and quickly nods her head. "Yes," she whispers. "Yes, baby I will marry again and again and again for the rest of our lives."

He smiles up at her then sits back in his original spot as he slides her rings back onto your wedding finger. He places his ring on her palm, silently asking her to places his ring on his hand. She gladly obliges and slides it back into place. He seals it with a passionate kiss as he pulls away he whispers into her ear and a smile spreads across her face.

"I always knew I would see you again."
