Mass Effect First Human Spectre

Hello everyone, this is going to be a movie like story on if bioware was to ever make a movie with Shepard as the main character of the story. This is how I would personally make it. Also, this is a draft work and only writing it with mainly key moments from the game with a few side detail missions. Should you want me to write a full detailed story of this adventure then please do let me know.

Captain Anderson, Ambassador Udina and Admiral Hackett have a meeting to list a few possible candidates for Spectre candidacy. All three sit on the table after greeting each other. Ambassador Udina looks at the data pad of list of names, looks up to Captain Anderson to ask of his opinions of the list of names. "Anderson, what do you think of this Ryan Shepard, He's from earth known to be a reck loose, doesn't like aliens at all, grew up on the streets. When turned 16 years old listed for the alliance.

He did not get along with the other recruits, quick to anger and eager to start fights with anyone. If it were not for his potential and ability as a soldier, he would have been kicked within the first few weeks." Udina, not looking please with what he has heard already but before he speaks indicating he just skips Ryan for the possible candidacy for spectre. Admiral Hackett has something to say. "Before we dismiss him, he has made significant progress since then. He was on shore leave at Elysium when the attack started.

All started with some fellow soldiers, he showed unbelievable determination, strong will, skill and leadership to not only organise a defence but hold enemy forces long enough for reinforcements to arrive. He is the only reason Elysium is still standing." "Hmm that is massive improvement since then, can't question his courage." Udina sees a name that draws his attention. "Well, what about this…Mia Shepard, Spacer, Tactical leader, infiltrator." Udina looks at both Anderson and Hackett with curiosity. "Are they related? They both share the same name." Anderson speaks first. "Ryan has no record of his family, likely parents died or abandoned him at a young age." If anything, it's a just a convenience, nothing more." Hackett moves the subject back to Mia Shepard. And looks to Captain Anderson to share Mia's background.

Anderson looks at the name for a moment. "She has a mother in the alliance military, her mother raised her alone, grew up moving ship to ship. She gets on with her fellow soldiers, had a bond with them, each speak higher of her not just as a leader but also as friend." Hackett looks to interrupt and fill in what he knows of her. "She went to Akuze with her crew to investigate reports of suspicious activity on the planet. She lost her entire squad that day, to a thresher maw attack. Barely making it out herself, she's going to have serious emotional scars."

Udina asks "Is that the type of person we want protecting the galaxy?" Anderson looks at Hackett briefly then looks at Udina with certainly. "That is the only type of person who can protect the galaxy." Udina looks to Hackett, "We have two strong spectre candidates, but the council asked for only one name. So out of these two who shall we put forward? Who would you pick Admiral?" Admiral Hackett is left pondering for a few minutes. He looks at Udina like he has decided, "I do believe, Mia Shepard is the right choice." Admiral Hackett says it convincingly. Before Udina asks Captain Anderson he wants to put his opinion across to them. "They both are worthy to be spectres, I think this Ryan Shepard is the best choice. We someone who can get the job done no matter the cost."

Udina then turns to Captain Anderson, "Am I to guess right, that you captain will be picking Ryan Shepard then?" Anderson looks to Udina with his mind already made up. "Before I say anything let it be said that both deserve the chance to be spectres. I believe this person is the best choice of becoming spectre." As he says his he points to the name on the data pad. Udina nods in acknowledge with them both. "Very well I will be making the call."

Where it all started

Meanwhile Mia Shepard is in her quarters on the Earth, trying to relax before the next assignment. She is reading her personal report when she survived the attack on her crew. Reliving that moment like as if it were yesterday that happened. She had to see psychiatrist after such an ordeal. She hears a phone ring on her computer device. Mia looks at for a moment. "Who could that be at this time? I hope it's not another assignment already." Mia walks to the device to answer the call.

"This Lieutenant Commander Shepard speaking." "Hello dear, how are you?" Mia instantly recognises her voice. "Oh, hi mum, I'm fine just waiting orders for my next assignment." "Why are you not out with your squad getting some R&R? You need to be out enjoying yourself dear." Shepard's mum says with disappointment in her voice.

Mia Sighs, "Mum I am fine peace and quiet is all I need, besides, they don't their commandeering officer around while they are having fun." Shepard's mum sighs. "While on duty yes that is true, but they are also your brother and sisters in arms. They need to know that you are more than just a solider, you are a person too." Mia rolls her eyes, "Don't roll your eyes on me missy, just because this isn't a video call doesn't mean I don't know what you are doing." Shepard's mum says with annoyance.

Mia cannot help but smirk hearing that. "Mother, is this all you called me for?" Mia says with smile on her face. "No, not at all. Can her mother not just call her daughter to chat with her?" Mia not having any of it. "Mum I know you; you don't just call me for just a chat." "Am I really that predictable?" Shepard's mum asks. Mia can hear her giggle as she said that.

"I'll be fine mum; please don't worry about me I am a grown woman now." Her mother sighs loudly. "Alright, but I can not help but worry about you my dear. Just promise me, you will go out there and enjoy yourself." Mia just accepts the fact she will not leave her alone if she does not promise. "Alright mum, I promise to go out and "enjoy" myself." "Good to hear, Will let you go now, and Mia please do know I only worry about you is because I do love you sweetie." Mia's mum says with worry.

"I know mum, I love you too. Bye mum." Mia then ends the call. She sighs of relief the call has ended.

Mia starts to get ready to leave her quarters when she gets another call. She looks at the call showing a priority one call. Mia sighs heavily then steals herself before answering the call. She walks to her device and answers the call. "Lieutenant Commander Shepard speaking." "Shepard, this is captain Anderson. I'm calling you today for your new assignment." Mia quickly salutes the captain. "Captain Anderson sir, I am ready for next assignment."

"I hope I have not interrupted your shore leave commander. But this is an important assignment." "It's no problem, sir I was just doing some reading. What is my next assignment sir?" "You've been assigned to the new ship called the Normandy SR1 and I am looking to add you to my crew."

Mia is left shocked that she just got asked to be part of the new ship by captain Anderson. "Sir, I'm honoured but why do you want me on your ship?" "Because Commander I am looking for the best. I had a look at your service record, and you fit the type of soldier I need in my crew."

"Well thank you sir but I just did my job. I will gladly be part of your crew sir. Do you need me to transfer my belongings right now sir?"

"Need not to do it right now Commander. Go out there and enjoy your shore leave but be sure to report in on the Normandy 0800 next week. But for now, go out there and have fun."

Shepard Smiles, "Yes sir!" Shepard says happily. The call ends and Mia gets all excited for her new assignment. She heads out to celebrate and enjoy her shore leave.

Ryan Shepard is at his home. Having breakfast and watching the news. Not much for Ryan to do with no mission. "Good morning humanity, we'll be giving you exclusive interview with Captain Shepard. Telling us about her new promotion to Captain, she gave us a few words in the upcoming interview." Captain Hannah Shepard, first I want to say congratulations on your recent promotion to Captain." "Thank you, I am honoured to have been given this promotion and I hope I do humanity proud." She says with pride and confidence. There has been rumours that your daughter Commander Mia Shepard is on a list of joining Captain Anderson, a dedicated soldier to his crew. What are your thoughts on that?"

"I have not heard anything about it myself so I can not answer your question, sorry to say, I do however say that whoever does get assigned to Captain Anderson crew should be very honoured to have been given such an assignment."

The interviewer then goes on continue to give prise to Shepard. "For many mothers out there, who also have sons and daughters in the alliance military. How does it feel they are taking up in arms for humanity since the first contact war? Which has sparked several heated debates on lives lost in that war." Captain Hannah Shepard replied. "I can say for myself and many other military families that we are filled with pride to see them following our footsteps in protecting humanity and our interests."

"Be sure to stay around to see the full interview with our newly promoted Captain Hannah Shepard."

Ryan just stares the screen with irritation. Ryan phone rings, he looks where the ringing is coming from with confusion on his face. "Who could be calling me?" Shepard ponders on if he should even answer the call. He decides to ignore the call, not in the mood to answer the call.

Call keeps on ringing and ringing. Eventually he gets annoyed and answers the call. "Who is this? Oh sir, I didn't think you'd be calling me at this time."

Eden Prime

Mia Shepard lands on Eden Prime with her squad to recover the prothean beacon and if any save any survivors. "This is Commander Shepard reporting in, we are moving towards the objective now sir."

Shepard waste no time and moves quickly clearing each area but moving forward, Shepard moves forward with her sniper rifle ready to end any hostile enemy before it even starts. Alenko and Jenkins move forward being cautious as they reach a small open field not far from next slot of cover, Shepard examines the field carefully, keeping an eye out of hostiles. She can see trees on fire, burned dead bodies. Lots of them as they move towards their objective.

Jenkins moves into a small stone wall for cover, when suddenly two flying machines come flying out around the corner. Firing right into his body. Jenkins screams out in pain then just falls to the ground not moving. "Jenkins!" Alenko shouts, bringing the two machines attention to him. Alenko throws a small but powerful biotic ball at one of the machines. Destroying it immediately. Shepard fires a shot at the other one with her rifle right into the lens, causing it, go blind. The machine wobbles from the shot, Shepard then quickly fires another shot. Destroying the machine. Shepard and Alenko rush to Jenkins body, Alenko checks his pulse by his neck. Alenko looks to Shepard and shakes his head. "He's gone commander. Ripped right into his shields." Shepard sighs in disappointment. "We can figure what those things were when we return to the ship after we get this beacon." What about Jenkins Commander?" Alenko asked. Shepard looks at Jenkins body. Looks at Alenko "We have to stay focused on the mission, we can come back and give Jenkins a proper burial."

Alenko looks at Jenkins body briefly, then looks back at Shepard. "Aye, Aye ma'am." Alenko tightens his grip on his rifle. Looking focused and angry. They move forward clearing area after area but with more determination and pace. Shepard knows being a marine down early in the mission is never going to end well.

They see spiks with bodies on the top, all bloodied and different. They look more synthetic than human. They move in closer when they hear gun fire ahead and approaching fast. Shepard signals Alenko to move it, pronto. They run ahead fearing it could be a civilian, trying to escape.

Shepard and Alenko run towards the sound of gun fire. Shepard knows this is a foolish way for a commander to get herself or her squad killed. But Shepard can't risk losing any potential witnesses of this attack on Edan Prime.

See a female soldier running and breathing heavy. She looks back for a moment like she trying to see if she still being chased. When she quickly turns back with pistol drawn out finger on trigger ready to shoot whoever is chasing her. Two drones come around the corner fast and fly right into the soldier's line of fire. The female soldier fires some well-aimed shots at them quickly destroying them and parts fly everywhere. She looks around and spots two machine like body figures armed with assault rifles.

She quickly hides to cover to avoid being spotted by them. These machines draw their rifles ready and start looking for this soldier went that destroyed their drones. The human soldier quickly tries to regain her breath for another shootout. The machines get closer to the human soldier where she is hiding for cover.

The armed machine closest to the human soldier gets shot instantly falling dead on the ground. The soldier quickly looks to see where that shot came from and can't see anything! Alenko pops out of cover and hits the other armed machine with a powerful biotic push sending it straight against a wall face. Without a moment of pause Alenko keeps running towards the machine and with his biotics stomps its lights out killing it.

Alenko stands over the machine to make sure it is dead. Shepard comes out cover and walks to the soldier with sign of relief. "You alright soldier? Are you wounded?" Shepard asks worried.

"I'm fine thank you, just some scrapes and burns. My unit got ambushed, caught us completely by surprise. I…I think I am the only one left." The female soldier looks down on the ground with shock and realising she is possibly the last of her unit.

"There was nothing you could have done soldier. What's your name?" Shepard asks. The soldier quickly snaps out it and replies. "I'm gunnery chief Ashley Williams of the two-twelve." Alenko looks to Ashley and asks. "Do you know who attacked you?"

Williams gives it a moment to think about it. "I can't say for sure, but if I was to guess. We were attacked by geth." Shepard and Alenko look at each other when heard that answer from Williams. "But the geth haven't been seen outside the vail in over two centuries. Why are they here now?"

Williams replies. "I think it got to do something with that beacon we found." Shepard looks at Alenko and Williams. "We won't find anything standing around here. Williams are able to take us to the beacon?"

Williams looks to Shepard with confidence. "Yes ma'am. It's time for payback." Shepard nods. "Alright let's move out!" They quickly move forward with Gunnery Chief Williams leading Shepard and Alenko towards the beacon's last known location.

After battling through many geth to reach the beacon's location but to only find it not there. Williams looks confused that the beacon was not there. "I don't understand the beacon was here last I saw. It must have been moved." Alenko replied "By our side or the geth?" "I can't say for sure. If they have moved it, then they would have moved it to the space port on the other side of this hill." "Let's get it then Williams. We can worry about survivors after we find the beacon." Shepard says, focused on the priority objective.

They move forward and clearly area after area, so they don't get surprised by the geth. "Shepard, lot of dead bodies here. I'll wait for you at the space port."

Shepard understands why she must remain radio silent but is disappointed that she cannot reply to Nihilus. Shepard carries on forward in hope to meet Nihilus and exchange information and come up with plan to deal with the geth.

Shepard comes across humanoid machine-like creatures on the spikes. "Stay on your guard, this is too quiet." Shepard says with caution. Alenko tightens his grip on his rifle, finger on the trigger. Williams looking very carefully of the area, doing her best they don't ambush her again like they did last time.

The spikes try to lower the bodies and they slowly start moving. They look right at Shepard and her squad and charge at them. Shepard tells her squad to open fire and these things are charging at them and fast.

They managed to kill them before they became a problem. "What the hell did they do to them?" Alenko asked in shock. "I don't know, keep focused Lieutenant." Shepard said. Alenko quickly listened and remained focused on the moment in hand. Ashley looks around and noticed one of the doors is locked from the inside.

Williams brings it to Shepard's attention. Shepard looks at the door, moves to check it out. They find out that there was two scientist where inside and gave their quick report of the attack. Giving details that the soldiers that was with them, gave their lives so they can hide. Shepard noticed something was wrong with the male scientist, he showed signs of extreme stress or perhaps he traumatized what he must have witnessed or heard during the geth attack.

Shepard can't afford to waste any time. She moves her squad out as time is against them. They need to get to that beacon before the geth do. As they continue going forward all they see is fires, dead bodies both soldiers and civilians. After carefully clearly area after area as they get closer to the space port. They hear from a far distance a single gunshot. Then nothing but silence after that.

Shepard had a bad feeling and started rushing towards where she heard the gunshot. They reach top of a hill and instantly see a massive ship take off in the distance. "Look at that ship! It's massive." Alenko says as he points out to the ship. None of them can recognize the ship design. A group of geth start attacking Shepard and those machine-like skeletons start charging towards them.

They clear the enemies without too much difficulty and as they approach the port. They see a dead turian body with blood pouring out back of his skull.
