Laying in the middle of their bed - the moment seems perfect and still. The light wind taps the window panel. The sound of their breathing soft as their chests rise and fall - effortlessly. Seeking warmth from the other, the pair cuddle closer. Arms and legs are tangled within their embrace while taking the time to breathe each other in. They really want to enjoy this moment before they are ripped from each other's side.
Barry massages Caitlin's scalp by running his fingers through her hair. A smirk forms hearing her slight moans of pleasure as he continues his gentle assault. She buries her head deeper into his chest as the pressure from his fingertips eases her stressful mind. His touch bringing her such comfort that her eyelids start to flutter. He chuckles, wrapping his free arm tighter around her then placing a kiss on her temple.
"I love you," he whispers in her ear before laying his head on top of her - stilling his movement.
She pouts, letting out a soft whine. "Why did you stop?" she grumbles into his chest.
He coughs a laugh, lifting his head off of hers. His eyebrows twitch in amusement at her grumpy side. "That's what you have to say? No 'I love you' back?"
She giggles at his playful tone while giving him a tight squeeze. Shifting her chin onto his chest, she looks up into his eyes. A glint of humor evident with his arched eyebrow, looking back at her. "I'm going to miss you," she whispers solemnly with her hand delicately playing with the fabric of his shirt.
"Cait, it's just for one night," he chuckles, taking her hand in his to intertwine their fingers. His adorkable smile not leaving his face. "I will see you tomorrow," he reminds, bringing their locked hands to his lips.
The small peck on her knuckles sends shivers up her spine. However, her pout returns as one thought pangs her mind. "I know, but I sleep better in your arms," she says, tightening her hold around his waist.
"Me too," he breathes, kissing her head then pulling her closer to his chest. "But after tonight, we will never have to be separated from each other again," he adds with a wink.
She giggles, burying her head back into his chest to hide her blushing cheeks. "Good," she murmurs with a smile.
Silence fills the room as they continue to hold their embrace. Their time running out, with neither of them ready to let the other go. Caitlin's fingers draw random shapes on his chest while Barry's hand rubs up and down her arm.
"Hey, Barry," Caitlin's soft voice speaks, looking up at him. He acknowledges with a hum, soaking up her touch. Her hand cups his cheek to pull his eyes down to hers. "Down here, silly," she giggles as her thumb subconsciously swipes across his jaw.
"Oh, there you are," he plays along with a chuckle. She gives him a smug smile, the twinkle in her eyes never fading. He then proceeds to turn his head to kiss her palm, follow by her nose, before placing his forehead on hers. "What is it, Cait?" he asks.
Her fingers graze his cheek to his lips. She bites down on her bottom lip, locking eyes with him. His gaze screaming for her to say the words on her tongue. Her peripheral vision catches his Adam's apple bobble as he forces a swallow. His eyes growing a few shades darker with her's following suit. She leans closer, so her lips are brushing his.
"I love you," she whispers on his lips.
A smile stretches across his features, a reflection of his initial reaction when they first said these three words to each other. His hand immediately slides into her hair to fully push her lips on his. The kiss is passionate, both fighting for dominance, with his fingers entangled with her locks and her hand snaking around his neck. As Caitlin deepens the kiss, Barry sits them up with Caitlin straddling him.
His hands slide under her shirt, feeling the warmth of her skin. He is itching to pull her shirt off, but a voice in his head holds him back. However, the cool touch of her hands on his skin as they sneak under his shirt changes his mind. Before anything can happen, the sudden sound of the bedroom door slamming open breaks their passionate affair.
"Woah, now Rookie!" Ralph's voice laughs as he stands in the doorway. "Time to break it up. You can suck faces tomorrow," he smirks.
Caitlin buries her face into Barry's shoulder, hiding her growing red face. His arms, protectively, wrap around her to hold her close.
"Seriously, Ralph?" Barry growls at their lengthy friend. "You could've knocked!"
Ralph swats away the words. "Pft, please! Where's the fun in that?" he smirks, resting his hands on his hips.
"Is it safe to come in?" a nervous Cisco calls out. His hand covering his eyes as he feels around him, walking into the room.
Barry groans, his head hitting Caitlin's shoulder. She turns her head, placing a quick peck on his neck. "You should get going," her voice only audible for his ears. "And I should get off," she squeaks, realizing her current sitting situation.
"No," he whines, his hold tightening around her. He lifts his head to face their friends with a glare. "We still have like five minutes left," he puffs.
"Yeah, five minutes ago," Cisco, with his eyes still covered, sasses. "We even gave you both an extra five minutes. Now, look where that led you guys. Couldn't even wait," he reprimands.
Ralph bends over in laughter, slapping his back. "Guess they wanted to start the honeymoon early, huh?" he smirks with an arched eyebrow directed to Barry.
Caitlin feels her face burning instantly and buries her face deeper into his shoulder blade. "Dear Lord, make him stop," she mumbles in embarrassment.
A glare is sent to the two friends still standing by the door. "Seriously, guys? Out!" he demands, pointing in the direction of the door while the other stays content around Caitlin.
Suddenly the sound of rushing footsteps and loud whispers echo into the room. A trio of ladies appears with amusement on their faces. This causes Barry to groan in frustration, throwing his head back. Caitlin looks up and over at her friends in defeat.
"It's time, isn't it?" she dares to ask, already knowing the answer.
The familiar blonde nods her head. "Yup! Now get off your man and let's go," she laughs with joy.
"We've been trying to separate them, but Barry won't budge," Ralph states, shrugging his shoulders. "It's not like you aren't going to see her ever again. It's one night!" he puffs in exasperation. "Like, come on!"
Everyone rolls their eyes then turns to the couple on the bed. Caitlin gives her friends a look, and they nod in understanding. The girls start to usher the guys out of the room. "Alright, let's go. Let them have their goodbyes," Felicity shouts, pushing Ralph back out the door.
"Wha- what do you mean? They had like 30 minutes to do so!" he exhausts. Nevertheless, follows in the blonde's demands.
Cisco goes without much effort, with the assist from his girlfriend, Kamilla, as his eyes remain covered. "Come on, Man of Honor. You should have known better than to let Ralph burst in like that," she remarks, guiding the way.
When the room is empty of their intruders, the couple looks into each other's eyes. Caitlin cups his face in her hands, her thumbs lightly stroking his cheeks. "I love you," she whispers with a smile. "I can't wait to marry you tomorrow," she adds before placing a soft, delicate kiss on his lips.
He smiles through the kiss, sliding his hand into her hair. Slowly pulling away, he leans his forehead on hers - breathless. "I love you," he says with a deep whisper. Pulling her lips back onto his one last time.
She hums and moans in delight at the passionate kiss. When she pulls away, she can't help pecking his lips once more. "I have to go," her lips graze his as their breaths intermingle.
"No..." Barry groans and shakes his head. "I'm not ready to let you go," he mumbles, burying his face into her neck.
A soft giggle escapes her lips as her hand slides into his hair. "If I don't leave, they are going to come back," she justifies, massaging his scalp. "And it's bad luck for the groom to see his bride before the wedding ceremony," she adds.
With a soft pout, Barry pulls away to look at Caitlin once more. "I know," he whines, then takes a deep breath. "I'm going to miss you," his voice soft as he takes her hands in his. His eyes examine the engagement ring on her hand, producing a smile on his face. He brings her knuckles to his lips, "Until tomorrow, my Cait."
"Until tomorrow," she giggles. With a final huff, she proceeds to get off Barry and heads to the door. "Oh, and Barry, please don't be late," she whines with a small pout.
"I won't," he chuckles, getting off the bed to stand by her side at the closed door. "I promise," he adds before pecking her lips.
She smiles with her hand on the doorknob but stands still biting her bottom lip. "And Bare, please be careful. Whatever Ralph is planning, take it easy. Please," she begs with her face full of worry.
Barry opens his mouth to give her words of comfort, but a different voice shouts over the door.
"BARRY ALLEN! I swear if you do not let go of her, I will personally take her to all the strip clubs within a 50-mile radius!" Felicity yells, pounding on the door.
He gives Caitlin a curious look with an arched eyebrow. "I don't think you need to be worried about me. I need to be worried about you," he sasses.
Caitlin smirks, then leans up on her toes to peck his cheek. "I can take care of myself. I promise," she winks then opens the door to leave.
Barry watches from the doorway as their blonde friend sighs in exhaustion, then pushes Caitlin down the stairs. She looks back at her shoulder at him with a smile. Her eyes telling him what her mouth can't. It's in those eyes that he sees their future. A permanent smile appears on his face. He stuffs his hands into his pockets when she turns away and out of his view.
"DUDE! You coming or not?" his lengthy friend yells. "Best man is brooding over here!"
He chuckles under his breath, shaking his head. "I'm coming! Chill out!" he shouts back. Looking back into the room, he pictures Caitlin by the door and mumbles to the air.
"Until we say I do."
