Chapter 4: Love and War

Sam was rushing through a large hangar. The Jedi were off to Geonosis to rescue Sam's brother, Senator Amidala, and Obi Wan Kenobi.

Sam had been briefed on what happened, which sadly included learning that his mother had passed on.

Leon was coming with Sam, since his former master, Dooku, was leading the new Separatist alliance.

"I can't believe my master betrayed us", Leon said.

"I know how you feel Leon", Sam said.

"He was like a father to me, and he left the Jedi, he left me", Leon said with a few tears in his eyes.

"Leon, you need to be strong, besides Ahsoka wouldn't want to see you like this", Sam said.

Leon nodded. He and Ahsoka were very close, and seeing him cry would often make her cry.

Sam said, "now, I've been assigned a pilot for my ship, based on an older model called the Ebon Hawk. They'll get us to Geonosis to rescue our friends in no time."

"Let's go", Leon said.

Hamill ran in front of the two as he jumped onto the ship.

"Hello, you must be Sam and Leon."

Sam turned in the direction of the voice and his heart stopped.

Standing there was a Pantoran man the same age as them. They had very soft features and soft looking white hair. He was dressed in a dark black flight outfit.

And to Sam, they looked very attractive.

"My name is Quarrie", Quarrie said.

Sam felt himself blushing.

"Hello Sam", Leon asked as he waved his hands in front of his friend.

"Oh! Yes we are, we need to get to Geonosis as fast as we can", Sam said.

"Then strap in", Quarrie said.

The group quickly got into the ship. Quarrie took the ship into the air, and before Sam and Leon knew it, the ship was in hyperspace, heading towards Geonosis.

Leon asked, "so, what happened back there?"

Sam asked, "what do you mean?"

"Your face went all red when you saw Quarrie", Leon whispered.

Sam said, "I, uh, I don't know what you're talking about."

Leon smirked and said, "you made the same face Anakin would make in front of Padme all the time."

Sam blushed.

"Ohh! You have a crush on Quarrie", Leon teased.

"Shut up", Sam said.

Leon asked, "but does that mean you're-?"

Sam quickly put a hand on Leon's mouth and said, "shh! He might hear you!"

Leon moved the hand and asked, "well? Is it true?"

Sam nodded his head.

"Yes, I like men", Sam said.

"But that still doesn't answer my question", Leon said.

Sam sighed and said, "yes it means I'm…."

Suddenly, the ship came out of hyperspace!

Quarrie yelled, "we're here! We're gonna land with the other Jedi ships. Then you've gotta get into that arena they've got your friends in."

"Come on, let's hurry", Sam said.

"Later you will have to finish what you were going to tell me", Leon said.

The Ebon Hawk landed with the other ships, and the Jedi made their way into the area, sneaking in as the audience was distracted.

Windu was the one to make their presence known, and an all out battle began between the Jedi and the battle droids that surrounded them.

Sam and Leon quickly found Anakin, Obi Wan and Padme as they were right in the middle of the whole thing.

Sam and Leon slashed through the droids.

Sam quickly summoned his second lightsaber as he saw a droid charging at him.

"How can you hold your lightsabers like that Sam?! I can never do it myself", Anakin shouted to his brother.

Sam was holding both of his lightsabers in a reverse grip.

Sam said, "one word brother; practice!"

Hamill jumped off of Sam's shoulders and began trading off a battle droid's head and fiddled with the wires, and made the hijacked droid shoot at its own allies.

"Stop that droid…. Errr, Monkey", one droid shouted.

Hamill let out a giggle as he continued to hijack more droids.

"Your droid is so sneaky", Leon said as he continued to slash more droids.

Sam shrugged and said, "it's in his programming!"

As the fighting went on, the droids slowly gained the upper hand, until they were all surrounded, and Leon caught sight of Dooku up above, beginning to speak.

He glared at his former Master as he spoke.

Count Dooku said, "Master Windu! You have fought gallantly. Worthy of recognition in the archives of the Jedi Order. Now…. It is finished. Surrender, and your lives will be spared."

Mace Windu yelled, "we will not be hostages to be bartered, Dooku!"

Count Dooku said, with some remorse, "then…. I'm sorry, old friend.

The droids and Geonosians ready their weapons again.

"We're outnumbered", Padme shouted.

"Look", Leon shouted as he pointed into the air.

They saw gunships arriving in the air, with soldiers in white armor in them. One one was Master Yoda, who had arrived with the clone army.

"Everyone get onto a ship", Mace Windu shouted.

Sam, Leon and Hamill dashed onto a gun ship. One if the troopers had red accents on their armor, and a slash mark painted on the left eye of the helmet.

He looked at Sam and said, "Sam Skywalker. I'm your assigned Captain. TK-2187."

Leon said, "seriously? We ain't using that name."

Sam looked at the mark on the helmet and asked, "what's with the mark?"

The captain replied, "I got my eye slashed in a training accident."

Sam looked thoughtful for a moment before saying, "well Captain Slash, let's help win this battle."

Slash gave a smile under his helmet.

Sam couldn't believe what he was seeing.

An Army of droids charging at the Jedi and the clone army.

Leon then felt something in the force.

Sam asked, "Leon, are you okay?"

"No, I have to deal with my…. Master", Leon said before he jumped off the ship.

"Leon, wait", Sam shouted.

Leon landed on a large cliff, and saw his Master racing away on a speeder bike. Leon quickly spotted a clone on a smaller walker. They were shot off of it, so Leon quickly took control of it and began racing after Dooku.

It took Leon a while, but he finally made it to where his former master was.

Leon quickly activated his lightsaber as he ran inside.

Leon saw Obi Wan and Anakin lying on the floor, and Anakin's right arm was gone.

Dooku was standing there, and saw Leon.

"Leon", Dooku said softly.

Leon shouted, "how could you? How could you betray the Jedi Order!?"

Dooku replied, "their code is a flawed ideology. And the republic is a corrupted democracy that uses them as tools to further their goals. My master and I wish to end the corruption. To unite the galaxy without the hypocrisy of the Jedi, or the Republic!"

Leon yelled, "at the cost of what? Freedom? Justice? There are good people who will lose everything because of you! You bring shame to your own legacy!"

"You know, deep down, I am right. Join me Leon", Dooku said as he offered his hand.

Leon stared at his hand for a few moments before closing it.

"Never. I serve the Jedi Order and the Republic until the end", Leon said as he activated his lightsaber.

"Please don't make me do this", Dooku said.

"Too late", Leon said as he charged forward.

Dooku closed his eyes, growling with tears in them as he shot lightning from his fingers. It slammed into him and launched him into the wall; disorienting him as he felt the lightning surge through him.

Dooku said, "you still have much to learn, my old padawan…."

Leon couldn't tell what happened next as his vision clouded. But he heard Dooku dueling someone else, someone much stronger and wiser than his former master. By the time he regained his senses, he saw that Dooku was gone, and Yoda was there, watching as Padme and Sam helped Anakin and Obi Wan up to their feet.

Slash was there to help Leon back up.

"We need to get them to a medic", Leon heard Sam say as he then blacked out.

….

"Leon? Leon!"

….

Leon then opened his eyes and saw Ahsoka.

Leon asked, "Ahsoka?"

Ahsoka asked, "are you okay?"

Leon saw they were in a medbay.

Leon said, "ngh, yeah. Where are we?"

Ahsoka answered, "we're on a republic cruiser. We had to move you and Sam's brother for medical attention. I was surprised to see those clone troopers carrying you onto this ship."

Leon then saw Ahsoka holding his hand and she too noticed.

Ahsoka let his hand go and the two looked away from each other as they blushed.

"The council also wants to speak with us", Ahsoka said.

Leon asked, "what for?"

Ahsoka shrugged.

….

A few weeks later, into the clone wars.

We see Sam and the 402nd were on the planet of Christophsis.

Slash was looking at the droid army as Sam approached him.

Sam asked, "how's it going, Slash?"

Slash replied, "those clankers are still coming in. They're real pieces of work, aren't they?"

Sam chuckled and said, "well, they won't get past us, will they?"

Hamill then ran up to Sam.

Sam asked, "what is it, Hamill?"

Hamill then pointed in the direction he came from while letting out a few sounds.

Sam said, "Anakin and Obi Wan want to talk to us?"

Hamill nodded as Slash said, "let's go."

The three of them soon arrived at the base camp where the two other Jedi were standing. Anakin now had a robotic arm to replace the one Dooku sliced off.

"Looks like help has arrived", Obi Wan said.

The three started walking towards the shuttle that was about to land.

"Our cruiser must be back", Anakin said.

"Which means we'll be able to get our reinforcements", Sam said.

"Then it looks like our problems are solved", Slash said.

"And perhaps they brought my new Padawan with them", Obi Wan said.

Anakim asked, "you really think it's a good idea to bring a Padawan learner into all of this?"

Sam chuckled and said, "oh, I could tell you stories about me and Leon going on missions when we were younger. And didn't you destroy a trade federation station when we were both children?"

Anakin said, "that's besides the point."

"What about you Brother? You would make a great teacher", Sam said.

"No thanks", Anakin said as he chuckled.

"Anakin, one day you are going to get a padawan even if you don't want to have one", Sam said.

"And it's part of a Jedi's responsibility to help train the next generation", Obi Wan said.

Anakin said to his twin, "a padawan would just slow me down. What about you Sam?"

Sam replied, "me? Well, I suppose. But I don't know if I'm ready."

Obi Wan replied, "every Jedi Master has said that. Or at least, that's what Master Yoda says. Even I said that."

"You would be a great Jedi master, commander", Slash said.

Sam smiled and said, "thank you Captain."

The shuttle then landed and the doors opened.

Ahsoka and Leon then walked down towards the Jedi.

"Ahsoka?" Sam asked as he walked towards her.

"Hi Sam, look", Ahsoka said as she showed off her Padawan braid.

Sam asked, "that's great, who is your master?"

"I'll tell you later", Ahsoka said as she winked.

"Leon", Sam said.

"Hey Sam", Leon said.

Anakin asked, "you know the youngling, Sam?"

Sam chuckled and said, "I'd hardly call her a youngling. She's around the same age as us. Just a little younger."

Leon, "heh, I'm in agreement."

"My name is Ahsoka Tano, Master Yoda sent me and Leon", Ahsoka said.

Anakin asked, "what for?"

"We were told to tell the three of you that you must get back to the Jedi Temple immediately", Ahsoka said.

"There's an emergency", Leon said.

"Well, I don't know if you've noticed…. But we're in a bit of an emergency right here", Anakin said.

"Yes, our communications have been a bit unreliable", Obi Wan said.

"But we've been calling for help", Sam said.

Leon said, "well we didn't get any calls. Something must be going on."

Slash suggested, "the clankers could be jamming the signal."

Sam replied, "that's plausible."

"Oh great, they don't even know we're in trouble", Anakin said.

"Maybe you can relay a signal through the cruiser that just dropped us off", Ahsoka said.

"Let's go", Anakin said.

As they walked off, Sam asked Leon, "how did it go with the council?"

"I'm glad you asked, I am now a Jedi Knight", Leon said.

"That's great", Sam said.

"You two have always been ahead of me", Ahsoka said.

"Don't worry Soka, one day you will become a Jedi Knight", Leon said.

The group soon stood in front of a holoprojector as they spoke with Master Yoda.

Sam said, "it's good to see you Master. We're in a lot of trouble down here."

Leon, "they didn't contact you sooner, due to the separatists interfering."

"Understand, I do", Yoda said.

"We need help, Master Yoda", Anakin said.

"Send reinforcements to you, we will", Yoda said, but the transmission was cut off.

Leon said, "Master Yoda? Master Yoda!"

"We've lost the transmission, sir", a clone commander said from the holoprojector.

"We have to leave orbit immediately, more enemy ships have just arrived", a clone said.

"We'll get back to you as soon as we can", the transmission then ended.

"Well, I guess we'll have to hold out a little longer", Slash said.

Ahsoka gave an indignant, "ahem?"

Sam said, "well, I guess time for introductions, eh?"

Leon, "sorta, since they've already met."

"My apologies, Ahsoka, it's time for a proper introduction", Obi Wan said.

"I'm the new Padawan learner", Ahsoka said.

"I'm your new master, then", Obi Wan said.

"I'm at your service, Master Kenobi…. But I'm afraid I've actually been assigned to Master Skywalker." Ahsoka said as she pointed at him.

Sam and Anakin said, "which one?"

Ahsoka clarified, "Anakin."

Anakin's reaction was priceless.

"What? No, no, no. There must be some mistake", Anakin said.

Sam giggled a bit.

Anakin pointed at Obi Wan and said, "he's the one who wanted the padawan!"

Sam added, "it's true. He's been really excited about it."

"No, Master Yoda was very specific. I'm assigned to Anakin Skywalker, and he is to supervise my Jedi training", Ahsoka said.

"But that doesn't make any sense", Anakin said.

"Well sorry brother, but you now have a Padawan", Sam said before he once again laughed.

Leon said, "well, back to the matter at hand; we're gonna have to take care of the droids on their way here."

Sam replied, "right. They pulled back earlier, so we gotta think of something now."

"Also, Sam, I'll be working alongside you more often", Leon said.

Sam asked, "why's that?"

"Cause I'm now a commander of the 402nd", Leon said.

"That's great", Sam said.

"Welcome Commander", Slash said.

"Can't wait to meet the rest of the legion", Leon said.

And with that, the group continued on their battle for Christophsis.

….

Hours later, things had gotten nuts.

Anakin and Ahsoka were on a quest to save Jabba the Hutt's son.

And this led to a fight between Obi Wan and Asajj Ventress.

Leon was making his way towards his fellow Jedi as he fought the bald sith.

Leon said, "so, you must be Count Dooku's new apprentice?"

Ventress retorted, "and you must be his old one? My, no wonder he left the order."

Leon rolled his eyes and activated his lightsaber as he said, "those mind games won't work on me."

Leon charged towards her as Ventress drove her two lightsabers forward. Leon blocked the attack but was having a very hard time keeping her at bay.

Ventress said, "what's the matter youngling? Afraid of a big and nasty sith?"

Leon grunted as he quickly pulled back and dove under Ventress before kicking her away.

Leon said, "you kidding? I eat evil like you for breakfast!"

Ventress growled, "why you!"

Leon blocked one of her lightsabers, but the other was blocked by Obi Wan.

Obi Wan said, "what's the matter, Ventress?"

Leon added, "afraid of the big bad Jedi?"

Ventress let out a scream of anger.

Obi Wan asked, "let's finish shall we Leon?"

"With pleasure", Leon said.

secs agoThe two began easily gaining the upper hand against Ventress, as her anger clouded her senses enough for her to make mistakes during the fight.

Meanwhile, Sam was outside the building with the 402nd legion fighting against the droids.

"These droids just won't stay down", Slash shouted.

"We can't let them get to Anakin or Ahsoka", Sam shouted as he slashed through the droids with his two lightsabers.

Sam saw a tank headed towards them and looked at Hamill.

He said, "hey buddy? It'd be a shame if someone were to commandeer that tank, wouldn't it?"

Hamill gave a metallic laugh as he raced towards the tank and managed to climb inside of it!

"Hey what the….", a battle droid said before he malfunctioned.

Another battle droid asked, "who's there?"

The battle droid was quickly taken out.

Hamill then started to hack into the tank and he fired upon the other tanks.

"Your droid is a very smart one, Commander", one clone trooper said.

Sam chuckled and said, "Hell yeah."

Sam looked to the air to see Anakin and Ahsoka making their escape in a stolen ship.

Sam smiled as the mission to rescue the Huttlett was in the bag.

….

Soon the Huttlett was returned to his father, Jabba the Hutt.

Ventress had fled the planet, and vowed to get revenge on Leon.

The Clone wars were about to get even deadlier….

….

Antauri was on a planet, (that is similar to Scarif but has more land. It is also Antauri's home planet), meditating.

Antauri's eyes then flew open as he had another vision….

"How could you!?"

"You were the chosen one!"

"I hate you!"

"I know there's still good in him."

"My Master is dead."

"No!"

"Promise me you'll take care of them."

"They will be our last hope."

Antauri then saw Sam standing next to a blonde girl.

"For the Honor of Grayskull!"

The warrior known as She-Ra, was then beside Sam.

"I know how you feel", Sam said, as he was in a fortress speaking to the blue haired, white skinned man.

"How it feels to lose everything."

Blue eyes met red as their faces grew closer together.

And Antauri heard the man's name….

"Hordak."

His eyes shot open as he felt utterly exhausted from such an intense vision of things to come.
