Chapter 6: Order 66

Sam was currently walking into the docking bay of the Jedi temple with several of the 402nd. They were off to meet with Leon. With the war getting closer to its end, Sam had asked for Leon to help apprehend Cad Bane. Leon agreed, as Ahsoka was also tasked with helping retake Mandalore. Ahsoka was a little under 3 months pregnant, but she could still fight.

Sam and his men saw Leon standing at the foot of the cruiser he would be using to apprehend Bane.

Sam yelled, "Leon!"

Leon turned and smiled as he yelled, "Sam!"

The two of them gave a friendly hug to one another, happy to see each other after so long.

Sam asked, "how's Ahsoka?"

Leon said, "good. Pregnancy hasn't stopped her from kicking butt. Heh. Now, are these the clones that are helping me?"

Sam nodded and gestured to his troops and said, "well, they're all yours."

Sam then turned to walk away as Leon shouted, "Sam!"

Sam turned to see Leon.

"We'll spend some time together after Bane has been dealt with", Leon said.

Sam smiled.

"May the force be with you", Sam said as he walked away.

On Kashyyyk

"This presence is getting so much darker, Master Yoda", Luminara said.

"Agree, I do", Yoda said.

….

Aayla Secura and Commander Bly were currently sharing a meal in Felucia as their troops wandered around the perimeter of their camp.

Aayla, "I sense that something is going to go wrong."

Blue shrugged and said, "eh, it's just your imagination."

….

Plo Koon was preparing his starfighter as he felt something shifting within the force.

….

Back at the Jedi temple, Sam was watching the younglings play as Quarrie approached him.

Quarrie asked, "how's it going, love?"

"A bit boring watching over the younglings", Sam said.

"Well, the Jedi left you in charge of the temple along with Shaak Ti", Slash said.

"Yeah, he's right", Bac said.

Hamill beeped as he jumped onto Sam's shoulders.

"Commander, you have a call from Leon", Xever, another Clone under Sam's command, said.

Sam walked off with Quarrie to where the transmission was coming from.

….

"Commander, we got in touch with General Sam Skywalker", Dee, another clone, said.

Leon then walked into the room and saw Sam speaking through the holoprojector.

Sam asked, "Leon, how goes it?"

Leon replied, "we're about to land on Dantooine. We'll have Bane in our grasp before we know it."

Sam said, "good. Maybe after that, we'll be able to spend some time together. Just like old times."

"Hopefully", Leon said.

"Sir, we're about to land", Dee said.

"I have to go, Sam", Leon said.

"May the force be with you", Sam said.

Leon replied, "and you as well, my friend."

The transmission needed as they made their descent into the planet below.

….

We see a smaller shuttle landing on the outskirts of an old, broken down temple. Leon walked out with several 402nd troopers.

Bradley, one of the clones, asked, "are you sure that the bounty hunter is here commander?"

"I can feel his presence in that temple,just stay on guard", Leon said.

"A few of our men have already gone in there", another clone named Scar said.

Then Leon's comlink buzzed.

Leon asked, "what is it?"

"Help! We've been lured into a trap", a clone trooper shouted.

The static started fizzing in and out, as screams were heard on the other end.

Leon yelled, "Dreck? Come in! Dreck? Ivo? Jack? Anyone?!"

Leon and the clones looked at one another as he said, "he's here. My senses, and the screams, all but confirm it. Let's go inside."

Leon led his troops inside and it was dark.

The clones then turned on their flashlights.

"Look", Dee shouted.

Right there on the ground were Dreck, and Ivo along with a few Clone troopers on the ground.

"Check on them", Leon said.

"These men are dead sir", Bradley said.

"So is Ivo", Scar said.

Leon asked, "and Dreck?"

Dreck groaned in pain.

Leon asked, "what happened?"

Dreck coughed as he said, "b-bastard came and, cough, shot us up. He's, cough, still here."

Leon ignited his saber and said, "everyone, huddle up. Bradley, you and Dee help Dreck up. The rest of you, keep your guns trained on the darkness."

Leon and a few troopers went into the hallways of the old temple.

He saw one of the other clones lying against the wall.

"Jack", Leon shouted as he ran towards him.

Leon ran towards Jack, and he was lying on the ground.

"Jack, hold on", Leon said.

Jack then started to point at something.

Leon asked, "what is it?"

"Behind…. Y…. O…. U….", Jack said as he went limp and died.

"Watch out", Dee shouted.

A bomb exploded and Leon was forced to take cover.

"Well, look who we have here?"

They all looked to see a certain blue skinned man with red eyes, dressed in a rugged cowboy outfit.

Cad Bane was his name, and bounty hunting was his game.

Leon said, "how many times have we faced each other, Bane?"

Bane chuckled and said, "too many times to count."

Leon activated his lightsaber.

"I'm here to take you in, Bane", Leon said.

"We'll see about that", Cad Bane said.

Bane pulled out his blasters and began shooting at Leon, who deflected the bolts into the walls as the clones tried to think of a way to help their commander.

"I think I got an idea", Dee said.

Bradley asked, "what is it?"

Leon continued to fight Cad Bane, and he charged towards him.

Cad Bane taunted, "are you sure you're a Jedi Knight?"

Leon then dodged a bomb that was thrown at him.

"Commander, we have an idea on how to lure Bane into a trap", Scar said.

Leon asked, "what is it?"

"We will use a stun net to capture him, but you must lure him to the trap", Dee said.

"On it", Leon said.

"Come out, come out, wherever you are", Bane said.

"Hey Bane come and get me", Leon shouted.

Leon ran off with a taunting gesture, baiting Bane into racing after them.

Leon yelled, "ya know, I thought you'd be better at bounty hunting than Dengar!"

Bane growled as he continued to chase after Leon.

The clones were hiding behind a corner with a net ready to catch the bounty hunter.

Leon ducked as he Bane shot at him.

"Now", Leon shouted.

The clones shot the net at Bane, shocking him into unconsciousness and making him land on the ground, wrapped up in the net!

"We got him", Dee shouted.

"Great work", Leon said.

Bradley asked, "what do we do with our dead comrades?"

Leon said, "we bury them. Leave their helmets as grave markers. So people will know that heroes gave their lives here."

The remaining clones nodded in understanding.

Soon the Leon and the clones buried their comrades.

Putting the helmets on sticks poking out of the ground. Grave markers for brave soldiers.

"You all will be missed dearly", Leon said.

"I will miss Jack", Dee said.

"Me too", Scar said.

"Commander, we got the council on line, they want to speak to you", Bradley said.

"I'm on my way", Leon said.

A few clones escorted Cad Bane into the Venator ship.

"I'll escape. I always do", Cad Bane hissed as he was loaded onto the Republic cruiser.

Leon came up to the transmission, seeing the members of the council standing there as holograms.

Windu, Yoda, Kenobi, Aayla, Shaak Ti and Ki Adi Mundi being among them.

"I see you have been able to capture Cad Bane", Mace Windu said.

"Yes. I will escort the 402nd when they deliver him to Coruscant", Leon said.

"You have done a great service to the Republic", Shaak Ti said.

"I did my duty as a citizen", Leon said.

"Not as a Jedi", Yoda said.

Leon replied, "no."

"That was the same thing Ahsoka said", Obi Wan said.

Leon chuckled and said, "hehe, of course she would say that. So, I assume she was able to capture Maul?"

Mundi replied, "indeed. They will be returning with him soon."

Shaak Ti added, "and with Grievous, Dooku and Maul out of the picture, the war may very well end soon."

Leon said, "indeed. We'll be back at the temple soon enough."

The council said, "may the force be with you", before signing off.

"Leon?"

Leon turned to see Ahsoka in another hologram.

"Hi Soka", Leon said, "how's our baby?"

Ahsoka said, "little sucker's doing alright. They kicked a lot after I got Maul."

Leon chuckled and said, "I'm sure they did."

"Don't worry, once we deliver Maul and Bane to Coruscant, we will return home and spend time with our friends", Ahsoka said.

"I love you Ahsoka, and you too my child", Leon said.

"I love you too Leon", Ahsoka said as the transmission ended.

Leon gave a really happy smile as he imagined him and Ahsoka raising their little bundle of joy once the war was over.

….

Rex asked, "something on your mind?"

"As a Jedi, we were trained to be keepers of the peace, not soldiers, but all I've been since I was a Padawan is a soldier", Ahsoka said.

"Well, I've known no other way gives us clones all a mixed feeling about the war", Rex said.

Ahsoka turned to look at him.

"Many people wish it never happened, but without it, we clones wouldn't exist", Rex said.

"Well, then perhaps some good has come from all of it. The Republic couldn't have asked for better soldiers, nor I a better friend", Ahsoka said.

Rex smiled.

"Besides, Sam found a way to make you all age normal, and he did save Fives' life." Ahsoka said.

Rex was beyond grateful to his friend for that. Saving his brother and giving the clones a chance to age normally, rather than be old men after only a few years.

Rex said, "I don't think I could ever repay you both for all you've done for us."

"Your friendship is enough." Ahsoka said.

….

"I'll go back to check in on the younglings", Sam said.

"Have a great day Sam", Shaak Ti said.

As Shaak Ti and Kit Fisto walked away from San, the latter said, "you didn't tell him, Shaak Ti."

"I want to surprise him with the revelation that he is going to become a Jedi master", Shaak Ti said.

Fisto replied, "I personally think he and his brother both deserve the rank of Master. Windu and others disagreed about Anakin, though."

Shaak Ti said, "maybe we can convince the other members of the council to make both of them Masters."

Fisto shrugged and said, "anything is possible."

"I'm hoing for Sam as well, cause he cares so much for his twin brother", Shaak Ti said….

….

Maul's eyes opened with fear.

You must choose.

Don't listen to him, Anakin!

...

Ahsoka then heard the voices of Palpatine, Mace Windu and…. Anakin?

It's not the Jedi way.

He must live.

He's too dangerous

to be left alive.

Ahsoka started to clutch her head in pain.

Please don't.

I need him.

UNLIMITED POWER!

Ahsoka then heard what sounded like Mace Windu screaming in pain.

What have I done?

"Anakin", Ahsoka said.

...

Sam was looking after the younglings along with Slash and Quarrie.

"They really like you Slash", Sam said.

"They really do", Slash said.

"It's so cute", Quarrie said.

Hamill then started to snarl.

The group turned to see several clones standing together, looking at a transmission coming through.

They heard a growling voice say, "execute Order 66."

Slash looked confused as he said, "Order 66? What the Hell is that?"

Sam said, "I don't imagine it's good."

The clones then started to fire at Sam and the younglings.

Sam quickly turned on his two lightsabers and started to deflect the shots.

Slash shouted, "what the Hell are you doing!?"

"The Jedi have committed treason against the Republic and must be killed", one clone said.

Sam shouted, "what?!"

"Sam, we must get the younglings out of here", Quarrie said.

Then all the clones that were blasting at them dropped to the ground.

Sam turned to see the rest of the 402nd.

"Woah, hey! We're on your side", Poker, one of the clones, said.

"We just stunned them", Bac said.

Sam looked at everyone and shouted, "we have to leave. Now!"

"I'll set the alarm", Slash said.

Slash ran to the wall and pulled a lever. The lights in the ceiling began to blair red, as a loud siren began wailing.

Slash yelled, "let's go! The Ebon Hawk is in the main hangar!"

As the group began running through the halls of the temple, they saw clones and Jedi shooting at one another, with a few still on the Jedi's side.

….

Luminara is about to give her orders, when something fires at her.

Luminara asked, "what's the meaning of this?"

Luminara and some of her clones were fending off their own men that shot at them.

"General, we must retreat", one of the clones said.

….

Aayla asked, "Bly, what is that sound?"

"Look out", Bly shouted as he pushed Aayla to the ground.

….

Yoda and Luminara had met up, and were currently fleeing with several clones and two wookies.

Chewbacca and Tarful.

They were making their escape from their troops that turned on them.

….

Leon was heading towards Bane's cell, when a handful of clones stopped in front of him with their blasters drawn.

Leon asked, "men? What's going on?"

"Blast him", Dee shouted.

The clones started to fire at Leon.

Leon turned his lightsaber on and was able deflect the shots. Leon used the force to send them flying, knocking them all out.

Leon asked, "what happened?"

Cad Bane chuckled a bit.

Bane said, "look like your own troops have turned on you. Not a good sign, just as the war is getting closer to its end."

Leon looked to Bane and said, "this might be your lucky day Bane."

Bane asked, "why's that?"

Leon used his lightsaber to cut off Cad Bane's restraints.

"I'm going to need your help to escape. But if if you do one thing to betray me, you'll be dead before the clones kill me", Leon said.

Bane said, "understood. I'll take what I can get to get outta here."

Leon nodded before he looked around to make sure the coast was clear.

"Follow me", Leon said.

"Commander!"

Leon turned to see Scar and a few clones approaching him.

"Stand back", Leon said with his lightsaber activated.

"Woah easy, we're on your side", one clone trooper said.

"I've seen far better tricks than this", Cad Bane said.

Leon asked, "how can I trust you?"

Scar asked, "why did you let Cad Bane out?"

Leon said, "some of the men tried to blast me into pieces! Bane seemed like the only person I could trust!"

Scar asked, "which men attacked you?"

"Dee and Bradely", Leon said.

Sev, another clone, shouted, "how could they?"

"We all heard on our comlinks, execute Order 66", Scar said.

Leon asked, "Order 66?"

"I hate to be rude, but we need to escape", Cad Bane said.

A droid then approached the group.

"The escape pods have been destroyed, we need to take a shuttle to escape", Leon said, "come on this way!"

Leon led the group through the halls of the cruiser, trying to avoid the other clones hunting them down. They were getting closer to the engine room.

Scar asked, "what are we doing here?"

"I have an idea, and I already told Bane about it", Leon said.

Dev asked, "which is?"

Bane said, "we're gonna blow this damned thing up."

Scar yelled, "what?!"

Leon said, "this'll be the only way we can cover our escape."

Bane then said, "let's get this party started."

Bane began flying around with his jet boots and set the bombs.

Bane had placed the bombs on the engines.

"They'll be activated, once we get off the ship", Leon said.

"Blast them", Dee shouted.

"Crap they found us again", Scar shouted.

"Let's go", Leon shouted.

The group ran through the door, and an R2 droid was able to lock the door.

Leon and the group were able to get half across the hallway, when an expolosion went off.

Scar asked, "what's going on?"

Bane said, "the fireworks are going off! We gotta get outta here."

Leon said, "I have a shuttle ready. The Jedi have a rendezvous point if something like this Order 66 bantha crap happens!"

….

Meanwhile on the Jedi Temple.

"Jocasta! No!"

Sam turned to see Kit Fisto with a few Holocrons in his arms.

"Get that information out of here", Jocasta shouted.

Sam closed his eyes as he heard Jocasta scream as she was killed.

"We're almost there", Slash shouted.

….

Back on the Venator.

Leon and his group made it to the hangar bay.

"Bad news, we're heading for Coruscant", Leon said.

"We have to get out of here", Scar said.

"Open the main hangar doors", Leon said.

The hangar doors were opening to see; every other clone trooper had their blasters trained on them.

Scar said, "oh, crap."

One of the clone commanders stepped in front of the others and said, "you're all under arrest for treason to the republic."

But suddenly, the hangar floor flew open, and all the clones fell in!

They turned to see the R2 unit at the controls to the hangar floor.

"Good work R2", Dev shouted.

"Here come more", Cad Bane shouted.

"Dev, lead the clones to the shuttle", Leon said.

Dev shouted, "what about you Commander?"

"Me and Bane will hold them off long enough", Leon said.

"Come on men", Dev shouted.

Cad Bane started to shoot at the clones.

"We have to leave now, we are about to enter the planet's atmosphere", Scar shouted.

"Come on", Leon shouted, as he, Bane and Scar ran towards the shuttle.

The three had made it to the shuttle when….

"Commander look out", Scar shouted.

Scar jumped and took the blast that was meant for Leon.

Leon shouted, "Scar! No!"

Cad Bane held him back.

Bane yelled, "It's too late!"

Leon cried as they got into the shuttle and began to fly it out of the hangar, just as the cruiser entered Coroscant's atmosphere!

….

Meanwhile, Sam and his group were running to the Ebon Hawk as troopers shot at them. Slash was protecting the younglings as they got into the ship as Sam, Shaak Ti and Kit Fisto deflected the laser blasts.

Antauri was there as well, making sure the younglings got into the ship.

Sam could see various Jedi get into their ships and also a lot of younglings were with them.

"We have to go now", Slash shouted.

"Everyone get on the ship now", Shaak Ti shouted.

Sam shouted, "Quarrie come on!"

Quarrie was running towards the ship when...

A bolt of blaster fire suddenly pierced his chest! Time seemed to slow down and grow silent as Sam saw this.

Quarrie whispered, "Sam-"

Before they fell over, dead.

Sam yelled, "NOOOOOO!"

Tears were in his eyes as he tried to get to Quarrie. But Ti and Fisto grabbed his arms as they tried to pull him onto the ship.

Kit Fisto said, "Sam, no! It's too late!"

Sam yelled, "I'm not leaving him!"

Sam managed to break free and got to Quarrie, pulling them into his arms, bridal style. As they did this, they saw a heart breaking sight. He saw his brother, fighting against the Jedi. With glowing yellow eyes. He couldn't even process what was going on as Antauri appeared and force pushed him into the ship. The others pulled him inside of the ship as it began to take off.

As the Ebon Hawk flew out of the burning temple, it nearly crashed into the cruiser Leon and his group had sent to Coroscant.

...

Leon shouted, "now Bane!"

Cad Bane had pressed a button and the Cruiser then exploded.

The Cruiser then crashed in front of the Senate building.

"Hey, look, General Ti has send a message and it's for all the Jedi", Dev said.

Leon turned to see the recorded hologram of Shaak Ti.

She said, "this is a warning to all remaining Jedi, and clones who are still in our side. The republic has issued; Order 66. An order that forces clones to kill their Jedi allies. I have managed to escape with Master Fisto, Sam Skywalker, several clones, younglings, and Skywalker's droid. Our pilot…. Didn't make it. And now, we have word that the clones are being led by not only the Sith, but one of our own. Anakin Skywalker. To all remaining Jedi and clones who did not enact the order, rendezvous on the planet; Typhon. This is Master Shaak Ti. May the force be with you all."

Leon hoped Ahsoka had survived this galaxy wide purge against the Jedi.

….

Sam cried as he held Quarrie's body.

"Please come back to me", Sam cried.

Hamill was there comforting Sam.

"I'm sorry, Commander. He is gone", Slash said.

"Oh Sam", Shaak Ti said as she hugged him.

"I just got in contact with Bail Organa. He told us to meet up with him and a few other Jedi", Kit Fisto said.

Slash asked, "did he say if he knows any Jedi who survived?"

Fisto replied, "he rescued Master Yoda and Luminara after the wookies helped them escape."

Shaak Ti said, "I received word from Leon. He and his group are meeting with us. Commander Bly rescued Master Aayla. No word from Ahsoka yet. But I sense she still lives."

Sam didn't listen as he held Quarrie.

Slash said, "sir, I promise you, we'll give him a proper burial."

Sam said, "thank you, Slash."

"I sense a few other Jedi managed to survive", Kit Fisto said.

"I sense Plo Koon survived as well", Shaak Ti said.

….

The Ebon Hawk then landed on the planet where they met up with Leon and his group.

"Cad Bane helped us escape", Dev said.

"That's a shock", Slash said.

Leon asked, "where's Sam?"

Hamill pointed to where Sam was.

Sam was sitting on the edge of a cliff.

Leon sighed as he walked over to his best friend.

Leon asked, "Sam…. Are you alright?"

Sam said, "frankly Leon…. No. My brother has turned on everyone. The Jedi order is close to extinction. And I…. I lost the man I loved. The man I wanted to marry. Now I have no idea if I'll ever find someone to love again."

Leon gave a sad look as he held his friend.

Leon asked, "where did you bury him?"

Sam pointed to a cliff with a flag on it. The flag had a symbol on it.

The symbol meant; Fulcrum.

He replied, "there. They always loved to look at the sunrise on cliffs. The perfect place for him to rest."

Leon gave Sam one last hug before they walked to the others.

"We all must go to Bail Organa's ship, Master Yoda, along with a few other Jedi are waiting for us", Shaak Ti said.

"Dev, you and the other clones take the Younglings with you to Typhon", Leon said.

Sam asked, "Leon, what are you doing?"

"I spoke with Bane in secret and…. I am staying with him for a while", Leon said.

"The lad speaks the truth", Cad Bane said.

Slash asked, "why, Commander?"

Leon said, "people are gonna need help out there. That, and I need to find Ahsoka. If she's alive, I need to find her and the baby. I will stay in contact. If I ever find her, you'll all be the first to know."

"Come on Kid", Cad Bane said.

"If you do anything to hurt Leon, you'll be dealing with me", Sam growled.

"With all of us", Slash said.

"No harm will come upon the kid", Cad Bane said.

Sam nodded and said, "may the force be with you."

Leon said, "you as well, old friend."

Leon walked away as Sam said, "now, let's not keep Master Yoda waiting..."
