About over a year later, I decided to add the anime scenes so it made more sense of what happened in what episodes. But I decided to leave the duel Moon Shadow and Sora had with Obelisk Force out. The reason is, it already made sense and the only thing that would've changed would be the moment of time Moon Shadow reminisced about Riley and Celina's predicament before engaging Obelisk Force.
Rooftops - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
A group of Obelisk Force, consisting of three, gathered on a roof as the one with a red gem in the forehead of his helmet waved to another group as they passed by on hang gliders. Turning to his comrades, he gave them instructions. "The people of this Synchro Dimension won't be making this easy for us. Remember, when you identify the target, use your flares to alert the rest of the squad." He then gave a wicked grin. "Now, let's do this."
Slums - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Yuya stopped his Duel Runner and gasped when he noticed that three airborne objects in the sky were gliders. And each one had a member of the Obelisk Force riding it.
"Obelisk Force! Those are the flying folks Crow told me about!"
After winning the duel against Shinji, getting captured by Sector Security, Roget trying to win him over during Crow and Shay's duel, Yuya was suddenly thrusted into dueling Crow in the Friendship Cup's semifinal. Yuya told Crow of the hostage situation that Roget pulled on Declan and the High Council. He also explained that while everyone was distracted by the tournament, Roget was planning to take over New Domino. Together, they formulated a plan to rescue Declan and the others. But during the duel, he had gotten a massive headache out of nowhere and everything went black before they could carry out the plan.
When Yuya regained consciousness, he was declared the winner of the duel and Crow was taken to the Underground, where the losers of the Friendship Cup were unjustly sent. Crow then told him that Celina was in trouble and that Sora was looking for her and could use some help. With regret and guiltiness of losing another friend to the Underground Labor Facility, Yuya sped out of the Duel Palace in search of Celina.
Yuya then said with determination, "Duel Academy's finally come to this dimension. Their first order of business must to be to find Celina and Zuzu. And my job is to make sure that doesn't happen."
New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
A group of Obelisk Force leapt down from the roofs, one at a time, as Sora hide behind them and watched them. After they left, he ran and leapt down himself and kept running as he looked around for Celina. "Zuzu's gonna be safe hiding underground, but Celina's MIA. I gotta find her!"
Duel Palace - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
The large, central screen in the stadium showed an aerial Obelisk Force search team. The spectators were speculating on what they were. "Who are those gentlemen riding those gliders?" A Topsider asked. "I imagine it's simply part of the show." Another one guessed.
"Nobody me nothin' 'bout no gliders, but I reckon'..." Melissa then resumed her usual optimistic attitude. {{Well, folks, y'all better hold onto your hats, 'cause we got a surprise from the skies!}}
Rooftops - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Somewhere, on top of one of the roofs, Yuri woke up. "That was quite bizarre." He then looked at his right hand. "It was like I was dueling but it must've been in my mind."
He then took notice of the groups of three shining lights in the sky. "The Professor must have grown tired of waiting. He sent Obelisk Force here to end Celina and Zuzu's little game of hide-and-seek." He smiled as he made his observation.
Sector Security Headquarters- New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Sergey emerged from the back of the truck that he was held up in as Roget gave his commands. "Stay in your established positions. Take defensive actions only. Leave it to Sergey to provide the necessary offense." Roget tapped his finger against his interlocked hands
Inside - Hall of Dominion - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
The High Council watched with Declan as the events unfolded in the Duel Palace. {{We've got a whole heap o' flyin' performers to t'put on a swoopin' soarin' show in the sky!}} Melissa announced.
"This is astounding, to say the least." White Taki commented. "Those that have flown in from the skies are from the Fusion Dimension?"
"That's right." Declan answered. "They're an elite unit known as Obelisk Force."
"This couldn't be worse!" Gael exclaimed. "Surrounded by Security and now Duel Academy invades us!"
Azul voiced her concerns. "We know you are an exceptional duelist, Declan, but will you be able to defend us against this many opponents singlehandedly?!" "You... you Lancers came to this dimension to protect us from exactly from this kind of situation, didn't you!? Well, can you actually do it?!" Declan calmly corrected Grey. "The Lancers came to help defend against these enemies, to team up with your own duelists and work as a united force!"
"But since your fellow Lancers were sent to the Underground, you stand before us alone." White Taki closed his eyes as he made his point clear. "How can one team with you, when you yourself do not even have a team?"
"My Lancers may be down, but they'll rise up soon enough, and when they do, Duel Academy will be done for."
The view of the monitor changed from watching aerial Obelisk Force members to Melissa Trail and the audience cheering in the Duel Palace. {{I can't say for sure what kind o' fancy flyin' these here wacky wingmen are plannin' on next, but this crowd is rarin' t' see it!}}
"Right now, the crowds believe that those flying above their heads are just a harmless part of the tournament's entertainment, but once reality sets in, this may be the opportunity we need to find out who among them is worthy to fight alongside us." Declan closed his eyes for a few seconds as he had his thoughts.
Slums - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
"Sora... Celina... where are you?"
As Yuya continued his search on his Duel Runner, he heard a familiar voice coming from the intersection up ahead. A familiar, loud voice mixed with the sound of a Duel Runner engine.
"WHERE ARE YOU, YOU SNAKE?!"
Yugo suddenly emerged into the intersection at high-speed on his white Duel Runner. The sudden appearance caused Yuya to brake hard and slide to his side, and not a minute to lose. Yugo followed suit when he noticed Yuya. They stopped just in time, any second more and they would've crashed.
"Yugo?! What are you doing here?!" "Yuya?! That's my line!" Yugo retorted to Yuya's question. Then he shook his head, focusing back on his priorities. "No, never mind! I have to find that coward!"
Yuya was confused on what Yugo was referring to. "What coward?"
"The coward that kidnapped RinRin and Lulu!" Yugo answered in a hasty tone.
Yuya's eyes widened in shock. At the same time, he was wondering something that had been bothering him since they arrived in the Synchro Dimension.
"So, you're not in league with the Fusion Dimension?" "Of course not! Why would I be working with them?!" Yugo retorted back, insulted by the accusation that Yuya had made.
Startled, Yuya continued his interrogation. "But if that's the case, why did you attack Yuto?! Because of that duel, Yuto is..."
Yuya's head lowered as he frowned at the memory of their first encounter in the Standard Dimension. The brutal duel between his lookalikes, Yuto taking the hit that defeated him, and clutching Yuto's weakened form as he entrusted Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon to him before he entered his body.
Yugo went silent after seeing Yuya's face and remembered the duel. He mistaken him for Rin's abductor and had beaten up with his attacks. After Zuzu cleared things up, Yugo was guilt-ridden that he had made a mistake with the wrong guy.
"Oh, that..." Yugo apologized, scratching the back of his helmet. "Sorry... My bad. I jumped to a conclusion too quickly and mistook him for a creep that took my friend away."
"What?!" This shocking news got Yuya's attention.
"No way! Another one of us?!" Yugo's revelation surprised Yuya. (But in hindsight, this should have been expected. Due to Zuzu having a counterpart in the other two dimensions, Celina from the Fusion Dimension and Lulu from the Xyz Dimension, and Yuya having Yuto and Yugo, it should have been obvious there was a counterpart of both of the two friends in each dimension.)
"Yeah. Next thing I knew, I was in Heartland City. I met Yuto, and mistook him as the creep that took Rin. You know, since we have the same face. Zuzu cleared up the misunderstanding when we got here."
"Come to think of it, how did you guys end up here anyway?" "According to Zuzu, her bracelet is what transported us here. She told me whenever you, me, or our other doubles are in the same place as her, it will glow and teleport us somewhere else." Yuya remembered the story Zuzu told him and Gong after Shay and Sora's duel. The horrifying duel and the seriousness of the situation made him open to possibilities, and Yugo's claim had just confirmed the case.
"Anyways, what are you doing here?"
Yuya immediately snapped from his reminisce and focused back onto the situation at hand. "Duel Academy has arrived in this dimension and are looking for Celina! I'm looking for her right now!"
"What?! But, Celina was sent underground after I defeated her." "I hope you're right, Yugo. But we need to make sure that she did." Yuya looked down as he clenched his fist and went silent for a few moments. He turned to Yugo and said, "So... Please give me a hand!"
"Huh?" Yugo blinked in surprise.
"With Obelisk Force here, and Celina all alone, I need as much help as I can get to help protect her from them. Plus, I'm guessing that the guy you're after is looking for her too. So if we find Celina..."
"We find that snake too." Yugo finished. "Let's do it! We'll duel those Duel Academy punks into a pulp. For the sakes of Rin and Lulu, who were captured, and Zuzu's too... That is, if she's still okay." Yugo let his head fall slightly down as he remembered what had happened the last time he saw her. How she had been brutally slammed into a skyscraper in her duel with Sergey.
Yuya then spoke up, "Don't worry Yugo. She's okay, my friend, Sora, rescued her and is keeping her safe."
Yugo looked up in surprise and grabbed Yuya by the shoulders. "Really?!"
Though startled by this, Yuya tried to keep his smile. "Yep!" Then he noticed that the Obelisk Force in the sky had changed direction. "Obelisk Force must be homing in on Celina! We've gotta hurry and find her before they do! Let's get going!"
"Right!"
Outside - Hall of Dominion - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
A group of Obelisk Force walked toward the Council building with smiles on their faces. "This is Sector Security. Stop where you are." A Security ordered Obelisk Force through a megaphone. "Put your hands on your head." Obelisk Force just ignored the order and just kept walking towards them. "Your final warning: stop or be stopped." The Officer and his comrade beside him had their attentions drawn away when Sergey placed his hand on his shoulder.
The middle member of Obelisk Force, who had a red gem in his forehead, stopped his team before they all deployed their Duel Disks. Sergey groaned as his Duel Disk deployed right out of his arm. It rapidly spun and tore itself free of his right sleeve before becoming a Duel Disk.
Sector Security Headquarters - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Roget, with crossed arms and legs, sat in his chair as he observed with a sour face. "Sergey had better not disappoint."
New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
All over the city, Obelisk Force members looked for Celina, leaping from poles over gallant parties thrown by Topsiders or from roofs in the Commons Area.
"Obelisk Force is everywhere." Sora ran as he made his own observation.
Empty Park - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Riley fell to his knees after running for so long. Breathing heavily, he couldn't move his legs. Celina and Moon Shadow took notice and couldn't blame him. Celina's concerns since Riley's duel were confirmed. His stamina had finally run out.
Celina knelt to Riley and said, "Don't worry Riley, I'll carry you the rest of the way."
Moon Shadow was about to volunteer in her place, but before they could act, they sensed they weren't alone in the park. They turned to the new presence and saw a squad of Obelisk Force arriving at their location.
"Gotcha."
One of the Obelisk Force, one who possessed a yellow gem in his mask's forehead, said before he shot a red flare into the sky. It was seen by everyone in the city. Specifically, Obelisk Force, Yuya and Yugo, Sergey, and Sora.
"Looks like Dennis was able to report back and tell Duel Academy that we're here." Celina summarized in an annoyed tone. She then said sarcastically, "Just what we need right now."
"Celina, Riley. Stand back, I will handle them." Moon Shadow placed his hand protectively in front of them.
"No, that's not an option." Celina pulled the ninja behind her, which surprised him. "If it's a duel, we can handle it. You need to get our friends out of the Underground to help us. We can hold them off until then."
"That will not be happening, Celina." Moon Shadow told her, closing his eyes for a second, before opening them to look at her. "My mission is to keep you safe from their reach. For that reason, I could never abandon you."
"Don't worry. Riley held off Security..." Celina looked at Moon Shadow with resolute eyes. "... so now it's my turn to do so. If we all duel, then our friends will be trapped underground. You're the quickest of all of us, so I have faith you can get them back here before we tire out."
Riley turned to Moon Shadow and smiled. "She's right. We can hold them off until you get back."
Moon Shadow looked at both of them and saw their determination. And whether or not he liked it, it was the right solution. "She's right. Obelisk Force would overwhelm us eventually, turning me and Riley into cards, and taking Celina back to the Fusion Dimension. But if I bring back the others, we would have better chances at survival. A risky gamble, but our only choice of action."
"Ninjas always fulfill their promises. I will return with our friends soon. I will pray that you two are able to hold out as long as you can." "We are counting on you, Moon Shadow." With Celina's words of faith, Moon Shadow left for the Underground Labor Facility.
The Obelisk with the red forehead gem (let's call these guys Obelisk Red) said, "Celina, don't resist us. Return with us peacefully and we'll spare the boy."
"I've said it multiple times: if you want to take me back, you'll have to do it by force!" Celina proclaimed as she activated her Duel Disk.
New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Now too long after leaving the two, Moon Shadow found himself struggling against Obelisk Force. They had whittled down his life points and left him unable to do anything by playing the Continuous Trap Fusion Trench, which only allowed fusion monsters to attack. Suddenly, Sora saved him by interrupting the duel and taking the Ancient Gear Hunting Hound and the two Triple Hunting Hounds under Obelisk Force's command using his Frightfur Chimera and then sickening them on their former masters, sending them teleporting back to the Fusion Dimension upon defeat.
"They won't be bothering us anymore..." Sora then turned to Moon Shadow after watching Obelisk Force teleport away. "Right?"
"Yes." Moon Shadow closed his eyes and nodded before looking at Sora. "Though we may still have our differences, you did save me on this day." The appreciative ninja bowed to Sora in thanks. "Thank you, Sora." Sora nodded in acceptance with a smile.
"Do you have any idea where Celina is? I need to find her and fast!" "Yes. Unfortunately, she is in grave danger. She refused to leave Riley, who has become exhausted. They are currently fighting, but I fear that Riley alone won't be able to help her."
Sora then realized the significance of the flare. "That flare I saw - Obelisk Force knows where she is." "Then their situation is more dire than ever." Moon Shadow summarized.
"All right. Then I'd better help even the odds. You get backup and I'll get to kicking some Obelisk butt and buying you time." Confirming with each other quickly, they both sped off in opposite directions.
Outside - Hall of Dominion - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
An Obelisk Green screamed as he was knocked back by Thorn Overserver Vandarlizuma, and was subsequently, teleported back to the Fusion Dimension with his defeated squad. The next Obelisk Force squad were surprised and irritated.
"Impossible! He's taking us all by himself!" "And beating us!" Obelisk Green added to Obelisk Red's statement.
Inside - Hall of Dominion - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
The High Council clapped at the spectacle unfolding outside. Gael smiled and stated, "You see?! Roget's warrior can singlehandedly protect us from Duel Academy!" Gray added to the statement. "Presider, perhaps we should try to persuade Roget to become our ally once again?" White Taki closed his eyes and placed his right fingers on his chin, while considering the possibility.
Declan ignored them and stared at the monitor, thinking. "Last time Obelisk Force was sent to capture Celina, there were only a few squads of them. But from the looks of it, there are more squads that were dispatched this time... Could it be?"
"Excuse me, may I head to the monitor room? I need to see something."
"Very well, Declan. If you must."
With the Council's permission, Declan went to the monitor room, giving him the perspective of the entire city, through the cameras installed. His suspicions were confirmed. Obelisk Force squad numbers had increased. When they were sent to the Standard Dimension, there were only about nine of them. Now, there were far more of them.
Noticing a flash disk on a nearby table, Declan started to hatch an idea. But he needed to know the full situation first and decided to monitor a little bit more. He needed time to reassess the situation and judgement of the High Council. Declan then left the monitor room.
Rooftop - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
"Captain Barrett, we have found Celina. A squad is dueling her right now."
Barrett received the report from his men as he surveyed his surroundings. The way he saw it, this would redeem himself after failing the Professor in the Standard Dimension. He had given his word to apprehend Celina and Zuzu and wouldn't allow himself to fail. Barrett then asked his subordinate. "What about Zuzu Boyle's location? Have you found her?"
"No, sir. Not yet, we're still searching..."
"I know where she is."
Barrett turned around in the direction of the voice and saw Sora Perse, who was the one who sent Dennis Mcfield back to Duel Academy after his cover was blown. After Dennis got back, he gave them a report of his time as a sleeper agent.
Barrett commended the boy. "Well done, Sora. Now, I can take it from here. Where is she?"
Outwardly, Sora looked normal, but inside, he was thinking on how to approach the situation. No matter what, he couldn't betray his true friends, Yuya and Zuzu. He promised Yuya that he would do what he could to protect Zuzu. And he knew by deceiving Barrett, as well as helping Moon Shadow earlier with defeating a group of Obelisk Force that were pursuing him, he couldn't return to Duel Academy at the cost of his own life. But to keep his promise to his first true friends, he had to take the risk.
"I have to go about this carefully. The first thing to do is to mislead them away from Zuzu's true location in the Underground. Then to protect Celina and bring her to the other Lancers for her protection. After that, find Yuya and tell him the situation. Hopefully, Crow was able to knock him back to normal. Which reminds me, we probably need to do something about that Director of Security. He just has to be behind Yuya's strange behavior."
"Sora?" Barrett's call to him, snapped Sora from his thoughts. "Right! Sorry about that, you'll handle Zuzu while I - "
"That isn't necessary."
Interrupting the two of them, Yuri arrived with his usual smirk. Seeing the uncanny resemblance to his friend, Sora couldn't hold his surprise.
"Yuya?!"
Yuri sighed tiredly, and showed his purple Duel Academy Duel Disk. "Again? The name's Yuri, and don't you forget it."
Sora mused, "Yuri...?"
Face unchanged, Barrett was still wary of the boy's presence. He told the violet-and-pink-haired boy, "There is no reason for you to join us, Yuri. It's only a matter of time until we capture Celina. Then I will capture Zuzu Boyle."
"On the contrary, Captain. The capture of the girls is no longer the only priority you gentlemen have now."
Turning their heads at the new voice's owner, Yuri, Barrett, and Sora were shocked. Approaching them were three masked girls and a squadron of black masked soldiers.
The one on the left was the shortest one, about Sora's height. Her hair was the same color as Sora's, but was loose and reached her neck. She wore a black floppy witch hat that had a golden belt with fins that had black wing flaps. Her golden mask covered only her eyes, while underneath draped a veil that covered the bottom half of her face. She donned a black robe with draping sleeves with beige trimming. Her dress was black and reached down to her knees. Her left thigh had a golden leg band. Multiple brown belts adorned her torso: two covering her chest and one on her waist. She also wore brown leather, knee-length boots. In her right hand, she carried a strange silver staff, with what looked like some kind of mirror at the head. Her Duel Disk was colored aqua, with silver trimming.
The girl on the right was covered in a hooded gold and white robe with black outlines. Trailing behind her was a gold and white cape. She wore a red cravat, an eye scope that covered her left eye, and a white mask with gold markings that covered her face's lower half. Black pants were seen going into her black buccaneer boots with gold trimming. The Duel Disk she wore was an emerald color, possessing white trimming. She carried a strange tome in her right hand.
Finally, the middle one had a mouthless face mask, whose eyes were closed. Her hair was two toned: long silver hair that reached down her back and two black fringes that framed her face. She wore an abbreviated purple dovetail jacket dress that draped down with long, cuffed sleeves and gold lining. If one looked closely, you could see she wore a white corset underneath. Her black pants were tucked into golden highlighted, purple boots. In one of her hands, she held a closed purple and black folding fan, embroidered with golden settings.
The black soldiers wore full helmets with two horns shaped like lightning bolts, with yellow markings running down their faces. Their uniforms were similar to Obelisk Force, but were black in color with yellow accents and had black layered pauldrons that curved upward. Their Duel Academy Duel Disks were black with yellow trimming.
"Madame Chaos... and the Chaos Inquisition." Breathed a shocked Barrett.
Sora nodded. "I didn't expect them to be here. They're only for specialized missions that Obelisk Force can't do."
Yuri greeted them with his wicked smile. "What brings such prestige here? I take it that the Professor wants extra insurance that we get the job done?"
"Yes and no, Yuri." The hooded female answered. "We have been here for quite a while. Haven't we, Hydromancy?"
"Indeed, Lady Minerva." The short one replied. "In fact, we have been monitoring the Friendship Cup's events the entire time and have reported our findings to the Professor."
The middle one, Madame Chaos, then spoke. "And given the circumstances, we have brought you boys some new orders. You see, the timetable for the plans for the Synchro Dimension has just been altered."
Underground Labor Facility - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Despite the invasion happening, New Domino was oblivious to it as dump trucks dumped trash that was then sent to the Underground via chutes.
"Keep it rollin', you rejects!" A massive guard told the prisoners as they sorted through the trash. "There's plenty more where that came from, so pick up the pace. We need to make room for today's catch of the day - week-old sardines from the fish factory." As the three children under Crow's care, Amanda, Frank, and Tarren, helped sort the garbage, Zuzu looked at her bracelet worryingly. "Yuya..."
A stocky prisoner then threw a bucket to the ground. "I've had enough. I am done garbage grabbin'!" He yelled. "Another troublemaker, huh!?" One of the massive guards asked. The guard then grabbed the prisoner by the shirt. "You get back to work!"
"I'm telling you guys the truth!"
The guard and the prisoners were distracted as two other massive guards dragged Crow as he protested. "I saw them! There's a bunch of flying freakzoids invading the city!" "Yeah, and I'm runnin' late for my ballet class!" One of Crow's escort guards retorted, the clean-shaved one, not believing him.
"How many were there?"
Shay, who was carrying a broken boom box over one shoulder and a bucket in the other hand, asked Crow and his escort, who stopped when he asked. "Shay! From what I saw, enough to add up to trouble." Shay narrowed his eyes as he realized and mused who it probably was. "It's Obelisk Force!"
He then turned and walked away. "Hold on! Where ya goin'?" Clean-shaven of Crow's guards, the one who held Crow, asked Shay. "That's my business. Now, quit hassling me before I get angry. I've dealt with enough trash for one day." The guard let go of Crow and growled before charging at Shay with a baton raised.
With a loud smack, the stocky prisoner from before wass knocked to the ground by his guard, who then stood in front of him as he laid back on the ground. "If you're unhappy here, then maybe you need a change of scenery." Raising his baton, he said with a cruel smile, "What you need is a nice long trip to the infirmary - !" Before he could finish his sentence, the guard who attacked Shay was thrown into him, knocking them both out.
"It's a fight!" Another prisoner exclaimed. Multiple massive guards rushed at Shay, who then knocked them out with single blows. "C'mon, rush him!" "You grab his arms and I'll tackle him!"
As the guards continued to rush Shay, Sylvio and Gong walked past them carrying a massive pipe. They then stopped to watch the fight. "That's his tenth brawl this week." Gong commented.
"Guys! We have to talk now!" Crow ran up to them. "Crow." Gong acknowledged. "I was dueling Yuya when these guys on gliders appeared. A friend of Yuya's told me that they were hunting down Celina." "Guys on gliders?" Sylvio asked in confusion. "Yeah. Shay called them the Obelisk Force." That news from Crow shocked the two duelists from Standard. "Obelisk Force!?" Sylvio asked.
"So, who was this friend of Yuya's?" Gong asked. "He said his name was Sora." Crow stated. That surprised Sylvio and Gong. "Sora?" "Has everyone traveled to this dimension?"
"He's from the Duel Academy. Doesn't that make him an enemy?" Sylvio asked Gong. "Gong thinks so. But why'd he call himself Yuya's friend?" "I say we drop everything and get to the bottom of this." "Good idea!" Gong released the pipe – but without his strength to hold it up, poor Sylvio was dragged to the ground with it with yelp. "Huh?" Gong said as he looked dumbfounded at Sylvio's fall.
"You're all ours now! And that's bad news for you!"
Meanwhile, the guards were finally bringing Shay under control with tethers. But as four guards closed the distance of the tethers, smoke bombs rained down on them and four kunai severed the tethers. Shay then seized his chance and knocked all four guards out effortlessly in the smokescreen. The guards simultaneously fell back with a groan.
"Nice moves, Shay!" Gong commented as he, Sylvio, and Crow ran up to him.
"Heads up!" A familiar voice called out to them, tossing Gong, Sylvio, and Shay their Duel Disks, which they caught with single-handedly. The one who tossed them their Duel Disks then landed. "Moon Shadow!" Gong greeted. "The word from above is that Obelisk Force just showed up here."
"It is true." Moon Shadow confirmed as Shay removed the cuffs from the tethers. "They are tracking down Celina as we speak. She needs your help, but you'll have to hurry. Right now, the only one protecting her is Riley."
The others were surprised that Riley was fighting. "That's a tall order for someone so little." Sylvio commented. Shay said, "Obelisk will take Riley apart."
"Quick! Let's move out!" Gong was halted by Moon Shadow. "Wait, Gong. You are still needed here." "Huh?" This confused the others. "Zuzu is also a target. You must stay here to keep watch over her." Moon Shadow explained. "If somehow she is tracked here to the Underground, alone, she will be easily outmatched."
"Got it." Gong then turned to Shay. "Good luck. Gong's with ya in spirit." "Thanks. Let's go!" Shay nodded and took off, followed by an angry Sylvio. "Hey, hold up! You're forgetting your wingman! Au revoir, Gong!"
"I will cover you!" Moon Shadow declared as he tossed more smoke bombs at the incoming guards.
"It's a breakout!" The explosions caught the attention of the other prisoners, including Zuzu and the kids. Zuzu then got a determined expression on her face and clenched her fist.
More trash poured into another area as an announcer declared over the P.A., {{Alert! Riot in progress! All available guards report to Sorting Area C! This is not a drill! Repeat, riot in progress! All available guards report to Sorting Area C!}}
Shinji, Damon, and Tony were together as they heard the announcement. "Guess, this is the chance we've been waitin' for!" Tony declared. "It's time." Shinji whispered to his friends. "Spread the word that we're goin ahead with the plan." Nodding, Tony and Damon confirmed with a "Yeah.".
Meanwhile, Shay continued to smash his way agilely through the guards, while Sylvio ran behind him yelling and punching the air. "Nice work partner! Now I'll polish off all the leftovers!" Moon Shadow ran along a conveyor belt above, following them.
"Hey, put that - ! Hey!" The guards in Shinji's area were having their own problems as Damon and Tony begin hurling trash at them from on top piles and Shinji spoke through a salvaged megaphone, calling to his comrades, including Gong's lackeys from The Facility. The guards yelped and ducked as garbage nearly hit their heads.
"My fellow Commons! It's time for us to rise up! For years, the Topsiders have ruled over us and treated us like animals! But now we have a chance to take control of the future!" Punching the air above him, Shinji declared, "Our tommorow starts today!" The prisoners cheered. One of them even yelled, "Down with the Topsiders!"
"Yeah! First up is takin' down the guards! Remember, together we've got 'em outnumbered!" Damon gestured to incoming pile of garbage from a chute behind him before looking at the garbage. "We'll use all this junk they dump to trash 'em!"
"There's a riot in Sorting Zone C!" A staff member cried. "The inmates are overpowering our security guards. It's utter chaos. We need backup before the situation spirals out of control!" The head of the Labor Facility gritted his teeth in frustration. "Lock down all zones now!" He ordered. "Don't let anyone escape!"
Down in Sorting Zone C, Gong and Crow met with some unexpected company. "Look! It's Crow!" Tarren exclaimed. "How did you three end up here?" Crow was surprised to learn that the kids were there. "Security was after us and a ninja hid us underground." Frank explained. Then, Amanda and Warren told them that they had a problem. "Zuzu was with us, too!" Yeah, but she just took off!" Gong was shocked. "Took off where!?"
Rooftop - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Madame Chaos sent something to Barrett through her dark purple Duel Disk with black trimming. Barrett read the content, and his face grew wide in shock as he read a document that was signed by the Professor himself.
"What does it say?" Following Sora's inquiry, Lady Minerva answered, "The Professor has decided to launch the invasion of the Synchro Dimension, right now."
"WHAT?!"
"That sounds wonderful to me." Yuri raised his eyebrows while smiling menacingly. "We get to tear this dimension apart, get rid of the Lancers, and capture the girls. It's like killing three birds with one shot!"
"Four birds, actually." Hydromancy added. "We finally get an excuse to wipe that poor excuse of a treasonous double-crosser, Jean-Michel Roget, out for good."
"B-b-but why now?! Isn't this a bit too sudden?!" Sora was in complete internal panicking mode right now. If the army invaded, there wouldn't be anywhere safe left for them.
Lady Minerva answered calmly. "Roget has initiated Operation: King's Gambit. That means all of Sector Security is now under his complete control. And right now, the Commons are now really riled up thanks to that duelist, Shinji Weber. Which means that this is the time to invade."
Underground Labor Facility - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Shinji knocked down a guard as he led Damon, Tony, and a crowd of prisoners, causing the guard to groan as he was knocked down. "Onward! We are gonna clean up this miserable city once and for all!" "Yeah!"
"The riot is spreading throughout the Underground!" A staff member cried. "It's chaos!" The head of the Underground Labor Facility growled as he was close to losing his temper. "Think I'll get some exercise." The head was then distracted by Lucas Swank as he started to walk out. "Exercise?" The head asked Lucas. "Yeah. I thinkin' a few abdominal crunches followed by some jujitsu takedowns." "Oh?" Lucas then directed his attention to his lackeys. "You gentlemen want in?" "Yeah!"
Meanwhile, Sylvio followed Shay down a tunnel and called out to him, protesting. "Yo! Hold up, Speedopolis! Slow down. This isn't how you get to the elevator!" "That's not an option. They're expecting that." Shay then explained what he was doing. "So, there's only way we can get out now, but it's not gonna be easy!"
"Don't be such a damp sponge! We're in the clear!" Before they could go much further down the tunnel, bars came down and blocked them off. "Or not." Sylvio squeaked.
Sylvio stopped by Shay and pointed to the bars as he smiled. "Those bars can't stop us!" Shay bent down, and picked up a rock. He tossed it at the bars, which broke it apart with electricity. "No. But they can shock us." Shay stated as Sylvio had his mouth open.
"There's nowhere to run!" A voice called out to them, directing thier attention away from the bars. They were met with the sight of five guards blocking the tunnel entrance off. "Give yourselves up or else." The guards then activated their Duel Disks. "Ha! We prefer "or else"." Sylvio told them as he and Shay activated their own Duel Disks.
Rooftop - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
"And the Professor has chosen that I command our forces, with you girls serving as the sub-commanders? All the while, Yuri hunts down Zuzu Boyle and Celina?" Barrett asked Madame Chaos for confirmation of the document.
"Correct."
"I cannot follow those orders."
"What?"
"As the one who let Celina go to Standard, I must be the one to bring her and Zuzu Boyle in. Once I do that, I will personally explain to the Professor, and take full responsibility for disobeying his orders."
The moment Barrett's declaration came out, tension built up rapidly in the air. Yuri and the girls, from underneath their masks, glared daggers at Barrett, as the latter did the same. Both sides refused to stand down.
Sora, who had been rendered a third wheel, was carefully trying to think of a way to manage the crisis unfolding before him. He couldn't stop the invasion, but he could control who would be running the operation and warn his friends.
"Calm down, everyone. We're on the same side, right? We shouldn't be fighting amongst ourselves while on this mission."
Barrett and the girls relaxed a bit, realizing the truth in Sora's words. Yuri, however, slowly chuckled, which turned into a soft laugh. He then smirked at Sora while walking toward him.
"On the same side? You seem to misunderstand, Sora."
"What?"
Yuri then grabbed the boy by his shirt and pulled him right in front of him, so they were face-to-face. He was still smiling, but his eyes gave a presence of sheer, sinister terror.
"We aren't ever "on the same side". We only work together to achieve a common goal. We have no bonds other than working for the Professor. If one steps out of line, we eliminate them. That is my job. And if the dear captain wishes to do just that, then maybe I should do the same thing I have done to the other misbehaving miscreants I have hunted down."
The way Yuri spoke to Sora scared the boy to no ends. After he was let down, Sora let out a held back breath.
"This guy... he's on a whole other level than anyone else I have met before in Duel Academy. I can't let him take command of the operation." Sora thought.
Underground Labor Facility - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
"So what's the plan, Shinji?" A prisoner asked Shinji as he led Damon and a group of other prisoners through a corridor. "I'm sure the guards will be sending in more reinforcements!" Shinji stated. "We have to reach the main control room before they show up! And then, after we take over this facility, we'll bring our fight above ground! But we'll have to act quickly or else this whole party will be for nothing! Hurry!"
"Zuzu! Zuzu!" Meanwhile, Gong ran around as prisoners fled and guards lied on the ground groaning, calling out for Zuzu. "Hey, Gong!" "Any sign of the little lady?" Gong asked Crow, who shook his head. "Nothing. Not even a trace." "She could be anywhere." Frank worriedly said.
"This place is on lockdown, so Zuzu couldn't have gone far." Chojiro explained. "Let's keep looking! I'll snoop around the control room. C'mon, Gong." Chojiro and Gong ran off to keep looking. "You jackals keep an eye out for her here." Crow then ran off. "And stay out of trouble!"
Rooftop - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Barrett had his Duel Disk ready, preparing for Yuri's indirect challenge. Before the two of them could do anything, Sora stepped in between them, facing Barrett while his back turned on Yuri. "I really think we should follow the Professor's orders, Barrett. You are the most logical choice in leading the frontlines. You have more experience than the rest of us. Our goal is to create a perfect, supreme world. And the invasion of this dimension is a key role in that plan."
Barrett quietly stared at Sora, then Yuri, then Sora again. He was struggling between his two responsibilities he was bearing at the moment.
Finally, he relented, sighing. "Very well... I will lead the attack."
"Wonderful!" Yuri smiled in satisfaction before turning to Sora. "Now then, Sora. Where is Zuzu?"
Pointing north, Sora told Yuri, "She is currently being protected by the Lancers in an abandoned subway station not too far away from here. About several meters away."
"Very good. Leave the rest to me."
Ignoring Yuri's praise, Sora then told them, "I'm going to survey the city before the rest of the army arrives. See you on the battlefield."
Sora then didn't waste any more time to leave. He hurried to Celina's location. Speeding as fast as he could across the rooftops. He made up his mind. "I have to warn Yuya and the others before the invasion begins." He couldn't stand with Duel Academy anymore, if it would endanger his only true friends.
Unbeknownst to Sora, Yuri was watching him as he left. He smirked. "Yuri." Madame Chaos called to him, getting his attention. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"
Underground Labor Facility - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
"Go! Blaze Falcon! Charge your wings and fire an electrostatic bolt to give this guard the shock treatment!" Following Shay's orders, Raidraptor- Blaze Falcon opened its struts that glowed with crimson energy as the Raidraptor crest formed over it in red light. Lightning struck the last guard, reducing his life points from 300 to zero, and Blaze Falcon and Shay's three Raidraptor - Force Strix all dissolve as the Crossover Action Field dissipated.
"Huh! This escape has been way too easy!" Sylvio said as he got up. Shay replied with closed eyes as Moon Shadow leapt down beside them, "That's 'cause you left all the dueling to me." "Huh?"
Suddenly, they heard screams. "Watch out!" "Make a break for it!" Lucas and his lackeys were in a mine cart, firing energy nets to capture rebelling prisoners. "For the first part of our workout, we're gonna gather up some garbage! Then we're gonna flatten all the trash and bag it!"
Lucas then saw that the three Lancers up ahead, and grinned. "Well, lookie there!" He leveled his own net gun and pointed at them. "Don't you trashtrolls move!" Moon Shadow, Sylvio, and Shay just stood there as the cart approached them with Lucas laughing. But then the Lancers stepped to the side, allowing the mine cart to pass by them. Lucas was confused at first, but then looked ahead and screamed as he and his lackeys were about to slam into the electrified bars. "I meant to do that!" Lucas yelled as he was painfully electrified. "Woah, what a wreck." Sylvio cautiously said as he spectated the accident.
"Hold it right there!"
Looking up, the Lancer trio realized that the Stomptroopers arrived and level their net guns at the prisoners from the conveyor belts. The Stomptroopers' commander ordered, "Make one move and so will we! On second thought, go ahead and run! After all, we could use the target practice!" The commander chuckled a bit at the thought.
"Take aim!" The Stomptroopers under his command prepared to fire, causing the Lancers to growl at them, but then the conveyor belts started up again, dislodging the officers and causing them to drop their weapons.
Up in the control room, Damon laughed, "All right! Now we're rollin'! It worked! Next stop, Topside!" After he gave Damon a thumbs-up, Tony contacted Shinji , "Great news, Shinji! We broke into the vault and now we're breakin' out our Duel Disks!" Tony looked at the Commons who were gathering up Duel Disks behind him from lockers behind him as he told Shinji about the Duel Disks. "Shinji, mission accomplished! We've captured the generator room and cut power to all the security systems!" Another Commons told Shinji.
Pleased, Shinji picked up the intercom and called to his Commons comrades. "Listen up my fellow Commons. Today is a new day!" Crow, the kids, Hunter Pace, and the other prisoners all stopped what they were doing and listened to Shinji over the P.A. system. {{Today is the day we've waited for! Our campaign against the Topsiders has begun! The Underground is ours! And now it's time we take it to the streets! We'll ride the conveyor belts to the surface and take the future into our own hands!}} The Commons who heard it cheered and punched the air. "Let's roll!" "Power to the Commons!"
After rallying the other prisoners of the Underground, Shinji turned and thanked the guys behind him. "Thanks a lot. This was truly a team effort." The blue-robed of Chojiro's lackeys, who was standing in front of the bound staff, with his green-robed buddy replied, "It was totally our pleasure." "We've been itchin' for action ever since we got down here."
"Our boss got tossed in this dump and we haven't seen him in, like, forever. We've been searchin' for ways to get him outta here." The blue lackey admitted. The green lackey then said, "We looked high and low, but so far, we haven't seen a trace of Chojiro." "'Til now, that is!" Turning their attention to the entrance of the room, they saw that Chojiro had entered, having heard all of the conversation and looked at his lackeys happily. The lackeys were overjoyed to see Chojiro as well. "Chojiro!"
"Come on, let's go while we still have a chance!" "We're free!" "Let's get out a' here!" "Topsiders, here we come!" The Commons clamored happily as they armed themselves with Duel Disks and begin running for the exits, laughing.
"Zuzu!" Gong stopped, finally having found Zuzu, as she stood looking at the fleeing prisoners. "Gong found you!" "Huh?" Zuzu noticed that Gong was coming to her. "Thank goodness!" "Gong was lookin' all over for ya." "Please, Gong! Help me get to Yuya! I have terrible feeling!" Zuzu begged her friend before she explained her reason. "My bracelet just glowed again. I think Yuya's in danger!" "Uh-oh! Gong wonders if he ran into Obelisk Force." Zuzu was surprised at the mention of Obelisk Force from Gong. "From Duel Academy?" "They flew into this dimension like a bunch of bats!"
"Out of the way!" "Topsiders are going down!" Before the conversation can progress any further, they then noticed that a group of rioting Commons were coming their way. "Move it or lose it!" "Zuzu!" Gong cried out as he was separated from her, reaching out to her. Zuzu did the same. "Gong!"
As Moon Shadow, Sylvio, and Shay ran out, Shay saw Crow smiling and hold his fists out to him, which he returned.
Shinji, Damon, and Tony led a group of Commons on the conveyor belt as Shinji declared, "Let's rock!" "Yeah!"
Unknown to anyone, a part of the Underground's wall rippled in a humanoid shape. When it stopped rippling, it formed one of the black soldiers of the Chaos Inquisition, who then pressed the communications part of his helmet, located on the side. "This is BP11. I've got new developments. Patch me in with the captain and the mistress."
Hooray! My OCs have made their appearance! You will see that these girls and their troops have a role to play in this story. It will tie in with everything else. Also, the markings of the helmets' of the Buster Brigadiers are made to look like Buster Blader. Please review and tell me if there is anything I can improve or add to the story.
