Chapter 20: The Chunin Exams
As Sachi was looking around for her team. She actually ran into Naruto and Sakura and Konohamaru was with them but they were not alone. There were two other people that Sachi never seen before. And what was going on in front of her was not good.
Konohamaru was being held by his scarf by a boy that had face paint that looked weird to her and she noticed the thing on his back and she wondered what it was, and there was a girl standing right next to him with blond hair in four pigtails and was holding a giant fan on her back.
Sachi started to walk over to them quietly and she tapped the boy with face paints left shoulder which made him look over that shoulder to not see anyone one, which gave Sachi thw time to grab Konohamaru from his grip and she placed him back on his feet. He turns back quickly to notice that the little brat that he had in his hands was now not there and Sachi was standing in front of him and blocking her friends from him.
" Sachi!" Naruto said after he saw how quickly she moved from behind to in front of them. Konohamaru looked at her for a moment till he ran over to Naruto ans his friends.
Sachi looked at the boy with face paint then over to the blond hair girl, but then back over to the boy who was giving her a look that she seena thousands of times from the fan boys that follow her on a daily bases.
" You're pretty hot, you aren't with any of these leaf genin punks, are you?" He said as he tries to place his arm on her shoulder, but she stopped him by grabbing his arm in a death grip before he could.
" Yes I am, I would also appreciate that you don't touch me or not hurt any of my friends ever again." Sachi said as she realesed his arm back to him.
" Aw, but these guys are wimps and there's no way that you could be with them. How about you stay with me instead." He said as he wraps his arms around her waist as he tries to pull her closer to him.
" Kankuro, knock it off. We came here for something more important than you flirting with another girl like always." The girl with the giant fan said as she shook her head.
" I know Temari, but we're waiting for him anyway, so what's the rush?" Kankuro said as he tightened his grip around her waist which made Sachi feel unconfortable and started to struggle.
" If you don't cut it out Kankuro, your going to get in trouble with him when he gets here, so I suggest you let her go right now Kankuro." Temari said with a hint of nervousness on her voice, which gave Sachi enough time to remove his hands from her waist and she starts to walk over to Naruto. But then she was stopped out of no where and she looks at her body to notice it wasn't moving, ' Why can't I move?' Sachi thought as she tried to move. She looked behind her to see Kankuro coming up from behind her.
" What he doesn't know, won't hurt him." Kankuro said as he tries to reach Sachi again till a rock came flying through the air and hits Kankuro's hand, which made him retreat his hand away from Sachi and winced in pain. That was when Sachi felt the contorl of her body come back to her and she moved away from him.
She looked up from where the rock came from and she saw Sasuke sitting in the tree, tossing a rock in the air and catching is with a very unamused look on his face.
" You're a long way from home and way out of you league." Sasuke said as he looked Kankuro who was still holding his hand in pain.
" Sasuke!" Sakura squealed in happiness when she saw him, after she was done with that, both Naruto and Sachi removed their hands from their ears.
Kankuro looked up at him very annoyed while Temari looked up at him with dreamy eyes, 'Great, just what I need is another fan girl going after my brother. One is already anough and she's on my team.' Sachi thought as she sighed with irration in her tone.
" Oh great, another wimp to tick me off." Kankuro said as Sasuke caught the rock one last time before he crushed it with his bare hand.
" Get lost, and leave Sachi alone right now." Sasuke said in threatened tone towards Kankuro.
" What are you? Her boyfriend?" Kankuro asked him as he glared at him.
" No." Sasuke said in a very sharp tome of voice.
" Then i can do whatever I want with her." Kankuro said as he tries to go over to Sachi again but was stopped again by Sasuke. But this time it was his fist that collides with his face and Sasuke stood in front of Sachi protecting her from him.
" Oww, you little punk, that hurt." Kankuro said as he glared at him.
" It's suppost to hurt. By the way, Sachi's isn't my girlfriend, she's my sister. And if I ever see you anywhere near her again...your dead." Sasuke said as he was giving him a glare that is warning him to try him. Kankuro stayed silent for a moment till he started to reach for the thing that was on his back.
" How come you're not cool like that, huh?" Konohamaru asked as he was pointing at Naruto.
" Ah, what do you mean? I could've btaken that guy out in two seconds flat." Naruto said as he balled up his fists and pointed at Kankuro. Sachi just shook her head at Naruto.
" You're the kind of pesky little snot I hate the most. All attitude and nothing to back it up with." Kankuro said as he grabs the things from his back, which Sachi was watching his every move and Temari gasped.
" What? Are you gonna use the Crow over this?" Temari asked as she stared at him with wide eyes.
Before Kankuro could do anything everyone heard a voice say, " Kankuro, back off." Which made both Kankuro and Temari freeze in place.
Sachi looked up at the tree were the voice make from and it was a boy with red hair and a giant gourd on his back while he was hanging upside down from very same tree branch where Sasuke was in before.
" You're an embarrassment to our village." The boy with red hair said with a serious look towards Kankuro who was shaking a little bit in fear.
" U-uh, hey Gaara." Kankuro said in a nervous tone. Sachi was still looking at the boy who was named Gaara and noticed a little symoble on his forehead, which she knew what it meant. It meant love.
" you're an embarrassment to our village, have you forgotten the reason we came all the way over here?" Gaara asked as he lowered his eyes into a glare.
" I-I know... I-I mean, t-they challenged us, heh...they started the whole thing really..h-here's what happened." Kankuro said as he started to stutter.
" Shut up. Or I'll kill you." Gaara said as Kankuro froze in place by that threat.
" R-right I was totally out of line, I'm sorry." Kankuro said as he started to back away and places his arms back to his side.
" I'm sorry, for any trouble he caused." Gaara said as he looked towards Sasuke and Sachi.
" Well, he was the one that is causing trouble here." Sasuke said under his breath but Gaara heard what he said.
" Really, what did he do?" Gaara asked as he turned his head towards Kankuro.
" For one, he was flirting with my sister. And two, he had his hands on her." Sasuke said as he crossed his arms.
Gaara still had his eyes on Kankuro who was shaking in fear, " Is this true, Kankuro?" Gaara asked him.
" W-well, I mean...YeahI kinda...I was only trying to..." Kankuro tried to explain to Gaara.
" You better apologize to her before I kill you where you stand." Gaara said as he glared at him.
" R-right, I-I'm very sorry. It won't happen again." Kankuro stuttered again as he looked at Sachi. She nodded her head accepting his apologie as Gaara who was upside down disappears in sand, then appeared in front of Kankuro and Temari.
" Let's go. We didn't come here to play games." Gaara said as he started to walk ahead and both Kankuro and Temari shakenily nodded their heads to him and followed him.
" A-alright, sure. I-I get it." Kankuro said under his breath and Temari elbowed him in the ribs which told him to shut up.
Sakura was a little confused as to why were they in their village, " Hold on! Hey!" Sakura yelled.
Temari turns back to them and looks at Sakura, " What?" She asked.
" I can tell from your head band that your from the village hidden in the sand, of course the land of fire and the land of wind are allies but no Shinobi can enter another's village without permission. So state your purpose and it better be good." Sakura said as Gaara and Kankuro stopped and turned to look at Sakura.
" Really? Have you guys all been living under a rock or what? You don't know what's going on do you? We have permission." Temari said as she pulled out and I.D. and Sachi looked at it like the others.
" I think that they are here for the Chunin Exams." Sachi said as her team looks over at her confused.
" What? The Chunin Exams?" Sakura asked as she was more confused then before.
" Well I've never heard of any Chunin Exams, believe it." Naruto said as he balled up his fists.
" Oh, I believe it alright, but you're totally clueless." Temari said as she shook her head with a smug look on her face.
" Hm?" Naruto said even more confused.
" The Chunin Exams is when Genin who believe they are ready travel to the designated meeting spot to advance from Genin to Chunin, the next level of a Ninja." Temari said as ahe looked at them. Sachi looked over at Naruto, who looked like he was getting excited.
" Oh, well why didn't you say so? I am so there!" Naruto yelled in a excited tone.
" Hey, you! Identify youself." Sasuke asked as he looked over as Gaara. Sachi looked at him, ' You already heard his name. Why are you asking him again?' Sachi thought as she looked at him.
" You mean me?" Temari asked as she blushed a littke bit.
" No him, the guy with the gourd on his back." Sasuke said as as he pointed towards Gaara.
" My name is Gaara, of the desert. I'm curious about you and your sister. Who you are?" Gaara asked as his eyes stayed on Sasuke.
" I'm Sasuke Uchiha." Sasuke answered him as his eyes never left him.
" And you?" Gaara asked as his eyes landed on Sachi. She jumped a little bit under his stare, since it was like he was staring right into her soul.
" I'm Sachi Uchiha." Sachi said as she looked at him with an uneasy feeling inside her.
" Hi there! I bet you're dying to know my name right?" Naruto asked as he pointed at himself as Gaara's eye landed on him.
" I couldn't care less." Gaara said as he walked away with Temari and Kankuro follow right behind him.
" Hey Konohamaru, do I seem uncool or something?" Naruto asked him as he looks over at him.
" Well, compared to Sasuke and Sachi, yeah you're pretty lame." Konohamaru said as Naruto started to fum in anger.
" Ah! You're not gonna show me up Sasuke!" Naruto yelled as he turned towards Sasuke.
" Hm. Back off loser." Sasuke said as he closed his eyes.
Further up the tree, their was three Ninja's looking down towards Sachi and the others. The one Ninja on the left was a male who has black spiked hair, with a head gear on the sides of his head. He was wearing a camo scarf and camo pants with black leggings. As for his shirt it was tan with a black belt and black shoes.
The Ninja in the middle was a male who was wrapped up in bandages around his face. He was wearing some type of fur on his back and he was wearing a gray long sleeves along a camo scarf, his pants was camo as well and black shoes.
The third and finally Ninja was a female with long black hair, also wearing a camo scarf and pants, for her top it was a vest. She had black arm bands abd black shoes.
" What do you think, Dosu?" The man with black spiked hair said to the man with bandages wrapped around his face.
" The usual weaklings- - nothing sepcial. But the boy from the Uchiha clan and the desert rat. We should watch them carefully." Dosu said as he kept his eye's on Sasuke.
" What about the other Uchiha? Will she be a problem?" The girl with black hair asked.
" Maybe, but just in case let's kept an eye on her as well." Dosu said when his eye's landed on her. That was when she looked up at where they were but they were gone.
' Whoever they are, was spying on us. Why? Hopefully we don't run into them.' Sachi thought as she kept her eyes up at that spot for a while but then she turns to follow her brother and the others.
After a while Naruto started to have a fight with Sasuke, they decided to go eat somewhere. Sachi told them that she wasn't hungry right now and she'll meet up with them later. They asked her if she was alright and she just nodded her head and started to walk away from them.
As she was away from them she took a deep breath to relax her body as she walked around the village, she looked down to the ground trying to collect her thoughts, ' Why can I shake off this feeling of those three people that was watching us. What do they want? Out of all the people in this world, why us? I'm going to have to keep my guard up, I have to keep my te-' Her thoughts was interrupted when she accidentally bumped into someone and she fell on the ground.
" I'm sorry. I should have watched whe..." Sachi started to say til she stopped talking when she looked up to see who is was and it was Gaara with Temari and Kankuro behind him.
As she was looking at Gaara, she quickly looked between Temari and Kankuro and by the look on their face, they was really worried at what Gaara would do to her. She started to get a little bit worried, but then she buried the worry and she got back up on her feet and she whipped the dirt off her clothes. Once she was done she looked back up at them.
" Sorry for walking into you Gaara. I should have watched where I was going." Sachi said in a apologetic tone, which shocked both Temari and Kankuro, but most of all it shocked Gaara the most but it quickly went away and he nodded his head to her.
" Are you guys lost or something?" Sachi asked as she looked between them.
" Technically, we are. We're trying to find a hotel to stay in during the Exams, since we don't know this village well unlike you do." Temari said a she released her breath that she didn't realize she was holding.
" I can show you where the hotel is if you like?" Sachi asked and Temari nodded her head in agreement.
Sachi rook the lead and they followed her in the direction that she was taking them. It only took a few minutes and they were in front of the hotel.
" Thanks, Sachi right?" Temari asked and Sachi nodded her head to her and then she looks over at Gaara.
" I have a question for you, is Temari and Kankuro your siblings?" Sachi asked Gaara as both Temari and Kankuro went inside the hotel to get their room.
" Why are you even talking to me?" Gaara asked her instead of answering her question which told her yes. She looked at him confused at the question the he asked her.
" Your talking to me like a normal person, you don't look at me like other people do. Don't you know?" Gaara asked her and once again she was confused.
" Well, when I do look at you I get an uneasy feeling are you. But I really don't have a reason to be afraid of you." Sachi said as she looked straight at him.
" There is a reason. I have killed people mercilessly." Gaara said as he slowly started to glare at her and all she did was look at him not showing any fear to him.
" All kinds of Ninja kill without mercy, rogue or not." Sachi said as she crossed her arms.
" I'm a jinchuuriki." Gaara said and Sachi eyes went wide when she heard that.
' He's just like Naruto. Now I feel bad for him. I wonder if he has any friend?' Sachi thought as her eyes showed sadness but it quickly went away as she looked at him.
" There's nothing wrong with that. Your just a normal person like everyone else." Sachi said and that was when he gave her an odd look.
" I don't jugde people for who people say they are. I don't listen to what they say, why does it matter. People in this village talks bad about my friend that you met eariler with me. He's also a jinchuuriki like you and he is one of the few who is my best friends." Sachi said as she saw the shock look in his eyes.
" Why do you care for us, when people call us monsters? How come you don't fear us and try to befriend us?" Gaara asked her with a confused tone in his voice.
" I don't look at what happened in the past, every person has something to hid, but who they are now isn't who they were in the past. What I see is, everyone isn't emotionless." Sachi said as she looked at him, then she turns her back to him.
" I'll see you and your siblings around." Sachi said as she walked away and waved goodbye.
After helping Gaara and his siblings and being alone for a while Sachi started to look for either her team or her brother but that didn't take to long cause she found both and it looked like they was waiting for something. Sachi walked over to them and Sasuke looked over and noticed her coming towards them, " Hey guys, what going on?" Sachi asked as she reached them.
" We're waiting for Kakashi Sensei. He asked us to wait for him. I was about to go find you, but you beat me to it." Sasuke said as he looked at her as she walked over to him and sat down on the ground right next to him as he was on the railing of the bridge and they started to wait for Kakashi Sensei.
* Some Time Skipped By*
" ARRRGGGHH! Why?! Why?! It's always the same, he sets the time and we have to wait for hours for him." Sakura said as she turns towards Naruto while Sachi was sitting on the ground and Sasuke was sitting on the railing of the bridge.
" Here we go again." Sachi said as she closed her eye and shook her head.
" Yeah! It's not fair!" Naruto yelled as he looked at Sakura and pumped his fists.
" What about my feelings? I rushed here so fast, I didn't even have time to blow dry my hair!" Sakura said as she clenched her fist in front of her.
" And I didn't even have enough time to brush my teeth or change my underwear!" Naruto yelled which made Sachi look over at him and sweat dropped.
' You wasn't suppose to say that out loud to the one that you have a crush on, Naruto.' Sachi thought as she face palmed.
" You...didn't? That's really disgusting Naruto." Sakura said with a disgusted face and that was when they heard a poof to their left and they looked up to see Kakashi standing on a pillar.
" Hey, good morning everyone. Sorry I'm late, I got lost on the path of life." Kakashi Sensei said as he placed his hand behind his head.
" You liar!" Both Naruto and Sakura yelled at him. He jumped down from the pillar with something in his hand.
" I know this a bit too sudden but I recommended you for the Chunin Exams. All four of you. These are the application forms." Kakashi said as he handed them each a paper of the application.
" Application forms?" Sakura asked with a confused look on her face.
" You're repeating me Sakura. This is all voluntary, it is up to each of you. If you don't feel ready you can wait until next year." Kakashi Sensei said as he looked at them.
" Alright! Kakashi Sensei, you rock!" Naruto yells as he ran up to Kakashi Sensei and trapped him in a hug while spinning him around.
" Don't slobber on my vest, whoever wants to take the Exam sign the application and come to room 301 at the academy, it's at 3pm five days from now, that's it." Kakashi Sensei said once he placed Naruto back down on the ground.
" Hahahahahahahahhahah, Chunin Exams! Chunin Exams!" Naruto said enthusiasm.
Sachi just looked at the application, ' Will I be able to handle it? I don't want to let them down. I'm doing it weather my eye gives me problems or not.' Sachi thought till she felt a pear of eyes looking at her and she looked up to see Sasuke looking at her.
Sachi could tell that he was worried about her cause of her eye but she wasnt going toet that stop her. She gave him a small smile and then she started to head home with the others following her.
* A few days have pasted *
While Naruto, Sasuke and Sachi was waiting for Sakura who was late. The pain in her left eye started to bother her again and she grasped her eye and Sasuke noticed her and came over to her and placed his hands on her shoulders and Naruto came over, " Hey Sachi, you okay?" Naruto asked her.
" It's your eye again, isn't it?" Sasuke asked as he looked at her.
" Yea, but it's okay, I'll be fine." Sachi said as she removed her hand from her eye and looks back up at her brother and Naruto.
" Are you sure? You don't have to do this?" Sasuke said and all she did was shake her head yes to him and right at that moment Sakura showed up.
" Sakura! Hey, you're late." Naruto said as she made her way over to them.
" Right, sorry guys. Good morning Sasuke." Sakura said as she looks at him while he removed his hand from Sachi's shoulder but stand near her side and turned to her.
" Yeah." Sasuke said as he looked at her.
' What's up with her? She's different.' Sasuke thought as he looked at Sakura, wondering what's going on with her.
Sachi also noticed the change in Sakura but she didn't as anything and they walked inside. As they were inside Sachi noticed a differents, ' Did someone place a Genjutsu.' Sachi quietly thought.
As they were making their way, they noticed a lot of Genin crowding the area and as they got closer, Sachi noticed Rock Lee on the ground, ' What in the world is going on?' Sachi thought as she looked at the two guys that was blocking their way.
' Is that Izumo and Kotetus?' Sachi thought as she caught their sent. Then Tenten got knocked down to the by Izumo.
" Delicate little girls don't belong here." Izumo said as Sachi started to feet a little anger build up inside her as she started to walk towards them with the other's following her.
"You need to stop picking on them Izumo and Kotetus. " Sachi said in cold tone as they looked at her.
While she was waiting for answer from them a familer scent touched her nose and she saw from the corner her eye it was Asura.
" I agree...but you will let me pass through...and also remove this surrounding area created by Genjutsu." Sasuke said in a bored tone as he stood.
" So you noticed the Genjutsu huh?" Izumo asked Sasuke as he glared at him.
Sasuke turned his head towards both Sachi and Sakura, " Go ahead. Tell them Sakura, Sachi. I'm sure you both saw it before anyone else did." Sasuke said.
" Huh?" Sakura said as she looked at him confused, while Sachi waited for him to finish his sentence.
" Sakura, you have the sharpest eyes and the best analytical skills on our squad. Sachi, your kin scent and sharp eye would have noticed it as well." Sasuke said after he looked at them both.
" I noticed it right as we entered the building." Sachi said as she crossed her arms.
" I must have? Well, sure! Of course. Sure, I spotted it right away. This is only the second floor." Sakura said as she looked confidently at them.
" Right!" Naruto said as he nodded his head in agreement.
Then 301 turned back to 201, everyone gasped in shock and Kotetsu smriked at little bit, " Well, aren't we the smart ones? So you both noticed an illusion. Now let's see you deal with this!" Kotetsu said as he charged at Sasuke with a kick.
Sasuke acted fast as he charged at Kotetsu with his own kick. Sachi was about to help her brother till she stopped in her tracks cause Rock Lee got up to his feet and stopped both Sasuke and Kotetsu kick's with his bare hands.
' Lee's gotten faster since the last time I seen him.' Sachi thought as he released both Sasuke and Kotetsu feet.
" Hey, what happened to the pain? I thought you were the one who said to keep a low profile? Not let anyone see our skill level." Neji said as he walked over to him along with Tenten.
" I know, but..." Lee trails off as his eyes landed on Sakura. Then he walks over to her.
" My name is Rock Lee, you are Sakura right?" Lee asked as he looked at her.
" Huh?" Sakura questioned.
" Please be my girlfriend, I vow to protect you with my life." Lee said as he gave her a thumbs up and a big grin.
" Definitely...not." Sakura said with a shocked look on her face and that was when Lee's face goes straight to depression state.
" Why?" Lee asked when he looked at her.
" Because you're a weirdo." Sakura said straight out. And Lee looked down to the ground sad.
" Hey you, over here, what's your name?" Neji said as he walked towards Sasuke and Sachi.
' I thought I already told him who my brother was?' Sachi thought with a confused look on her face.
" It's common courtesy to give your own name before asking someone else?" Sasuke said as he looked at Neji.
" I thought I already told him Tenten, why is he asking." Sachi asked Tenten as she looked over at her.
" You know how Neji is. He doesn't really care unless is catches his attention." Tenten said as shrugged her shoulders.
" Hey, you're a rookie aren't you? How old are you anyway?" Neji asked as his eyes glared at Sasuke.
" I'm not obliged to answer." Sasuje said in a cold tone and glares back at Neji.
" What's that?" Neji asked and Tenten giggled a little bit. Sasuke turns his back towards Neji and looked at his team.
" A weirdo?" Lee said depressed.
" No one wants to know my name." Naruto said depressed as well.
" Hey, Naruto, Sasuke, Sachi, come on let's go." Sakura said as they started to head towards 301, but Sachi stopped as Neji headed towards Asura.
" You, what are you doing here?" Neji said aggressively. Tenten lookedbat Neji confused and wondered what was going on.
" Why I'm here is non of your concern, Neji." Asura said to Neji.
" You do well to watch what you say." Neji said with a more frustration in his voice.
' Shit I think Neji knows about Asura's eye.' Sachi thought as she could feel the tenison in the air between them.
" I'll watch what I say, when I care for what you think." Asura said as he glared at him. Then Neji just left the conversation and didn't even look back.
As Asura's team walked over to him, Sachi took off to catch up with her team. Once sachi caught up with her team, they started to head towards the third floor.
Once they got to the third floor and as they were about to reach the door, they spotted Asura and his team reaching the same door.
" What a concidence it seems we were destined to meet here, wasn't it Sachi." Asura said as he grinned at her.
" So you guys are taking the Chunin Exams too, huh?" Sachi asked as she returned smile.
" Yep, we decided to come." Asura replied to her question.
Sachi noticed that Maiya was looking at her, " Sachi, why are you doing this when your obviously still recovering." Maiya asked her.
" Don't worry. I'll be fine." Sachi said while she was smiling, even though shevwas lieing.
Sachi could tell that Asura knew that she was still in pain, and what he did next shocked her. He came over to her and placed his hand on her shoulder while giving her a concern look on his face, " Look Sachi, you shouldn't be taking this Exam because of your condition." Asura said as he looked at her.
Sachi silghtly look down knowing that his words were true, I know that's what you want to do, but knowing you, you won't do so. If you ever need help in the exam you can count on me." Asura said as he looks at her. Sachi started to blush and she was glad that her hair was covering her face.
That was when Kakashi Sensei appeared before them, " So, Sakura came too. Now you can properly take the Exam." Kakashi Sensei said.
" What do you mean?" Sakura asked confused.
" The truth is that this test can only be taken by teams of three but since tou for are a special case, Sachi will also be able to enter the Exam as well." Kakashi explained.
" Huh? But you said taking the test was an individual choice. You lied to us?" Sakura asked as she placed her hands on her hips.
' I understand now.' Sachi thought as she looked over at Asura and Maiya and noticed that they caught on as well.
" Well, color me surprised. Tou three showed up." Agama said as he appeared right next to Asura and the other.
Agama looked at his team, " What are you three waiting for, head into the testing room." Agama said as he looked at his team.
As Sachi and her team headed towards the door. Asura and his team followed right behind them, Sachi looked over at Asura and asked, " So Asura, did Agama do the same thing to you guys?"
" Nope, he was to lazy to tell us I guess." Asura said as he shook his head.
" Looks like your getting use to him." Sachi said as she looked at him.
" That's what I'm best at. It's adapting cause that's how I survive." Asura said as they stood before the door.
" Let's kick some ninja butt, guys." Asuka said enthusiastically. Both Asura and Maiya nodded their heads.
" Let's work together and take out the enemy." Sachi said as Sasuke, Sakura and Naruto nodded towards her and they opened the door.
