This is a chapter that celebrates a milestone for me! This is my fifth chapter! I have decided to try to keep a schedule. Try to expect at most four chapters a month to be uploaded. I'd love to hear your input on all this, so don't be afraid! Plus, I would like to hear your versions of English dub chants and names for the cards. Consult Frost190's fanfic Bonds of Pendulum to see the OC cards I plan to utilize. FYI, I give credit to the writer for their cards and the ideas others give me.
And here's a shoutout to the Guest that suggested about the formatting life points and monsters. I appreciated the review and the suggestion. However, I am not going to do so right now. 'Cause while bolding them would make it easier, it could also become confusing. I plan to use bolding for something else, but we'll see if it falls through. When the story is over, I will consider your suggestion again. If people see that they are bolded, then it means I agreed with it.
Empty Park - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Yuya kept seeing flashes of images and hearing somewhat familiar voices as he groaned in pain. He could barely hear Sora's voice continuously calling his name. Opening his eyes a little, he saw Yuri, Yugo, and Celina in the same position as he was in. And it might just be due to the pain, but he could've sworn he saw Starving Venom Fusion Dragon lean to protect Yuri with its body. But, he couldn't think more about it, since the pain returned, only it was doubled.
"...ya!"
Just when he though he couldn't take anymore, a familiar voice reached his ears. It was quite far, but it was still recognizable. It belonged to someone who had been by his side since they were children. The one who supported him in his hardest times, always there to help him. The person he travelled across dimensions to find.
"Yuya!"
Turning to his right, through blurred vision he saw the person running toward him with a frantic and worried face. Suddenly, a bright pink light came from the person and blocked his field of vision but relieved the pain. The relief of the disappearing pain was ultimately his reason to lose his consciousness. Before completely blacking out, Yuya muttered the name of the person.
"Zu... zu."
"Yuya!" Sora caught him before he slumped to the ground. Turning around, he expected to see Yuri and Yugo with Celina, but they were nowhere to be found. Only Celina was present, while the other two vanished without a trace. Getting on her feet, Celina walked unsteadily over to them.
"Sora, what happened here?!" Zuzu knelt to check on her beloved friend.
Sora stammered for an explanation. "I... I don't really know. He acted weird, got a painful headache, and then passed out."
"Is Yuya alright?" Celina asked.
"Yeah, looks like it. He's just unconscious. But what happened to Yuri and Yugo?"
"I... don't know. They were here until Zuzu came. But we were all in pain just like Yuya was when my bracelet glowed." Celina told them as she looked at her bracelet.
Surprised, Zuzu then looked at Celina. "Your bracelet also glowed?!"
"Also...? You mean yours did too?" Celina glanced at Zuzu's bracelet.
Before the matter could go deeper, they were interrupted by great shaking and the sounds of explosions. Turning towards the sounds, they were all horrified to see multiple Chaos Ancient Gear Giants rising and destroying New Domino.
"This is really bad! We gotta get out of here!" Sora ushered the group. "I'll explain while we're running!" Zuzu and Celina picked up the unconscious Yuya and carried him on their shoulders, Zuzu on the left and Celina on the right respectively. As they all left the park, a Chaos Giant noticed them and slammed its fist to where they previously were, kicking up a dust cloud that engulfed them.
Inside - Hall of Dominion - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Declan and the High Council could barely believe their eyes at the scenes being shown to them. Duel Academy soldiers hunted down the citizens of New Domino whether they were men, women, children, or elderly, Topsider or Common, and turned them all into cards. Some of the Commons were actually melee fighting with the invaders. Obelisk Force and Buster Brigadiers marched through the streets in a rhythmic synched manner while they had their monsters out. Chaos Ancient Gear Giants rampaged and destroyed. The sky was filled with Duel Academy soldiers riding their aerial monsters. The luxurious Topsider areas of the city and sky palaces were wrecked, smoke bellowed out from everywhere, and the Commons area was even more trashed than before.
Azul spoke. "It seems Duel Academy has begun their invasion. Luckily, we are quite safe here with Declan and the Securities fighting for us, agreed Presider?"
"Quite indeed." White Taki said with a smile.
Declan narrowed his eyes at them but said nothing. As they had said, the Sector Security officers that Roget stationed outside were occupied with the Duel Academy soldiers and Commons. Discreetly staring at the High Council, who remained calm and comfortable despite the situation. They were confident they were safe, most likely since he was there to protect them if the soldiers were to get inside.
Declan fixed his glasses and headed to the observation room. "Where are you going?" Gael inquired. "To the observation room, we need to see the parts of the city where Duel Academy has occupied to better plan our course of action." Declan smoothly answered.
Taking the flash disk from earlier, he inserted it into the only computer. "This is nothing more than a gamble, but this is the best course of action we have right now. For not only the sake of this city, but for everyone." Declan thought as he typed.
Alleyway - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Yugo was confused. He was somewhere quite odd, a peculiar park that seemed like one of the Topsiders' properties. But it wasn't, since there was a floating dome and other advanced technologies that New Domino definitely didn't have.
"Wh... where am I?" Yugo asked, but he couldn't move his body. "Why can't I move?" Then, he caught his reflection in the nearby fountain. But it wasn't his reflection, but the reflection of a man a few years older than he was. The man wore a blue and white jacket with orange borders that was like his suit over a black undershirt. Thick, red-brownish gloves were worn on his hands. The pants were black with brown chaps, faded gold knee pads, dark-blue suspenders with faded gold buckles hanging from a red-brownish belt with two large holsters and a large, faded gold buckle. The man also wore brown shoes with dark-blue outlines and straps. The man's hair was spiky and colored silver with light green highlights. He couldn't see the man's face since it was obscured.
The man took out his Duel Disk, a smaller version attached to a wristband, which connected to the Deck Zone, deploying a curled, yellow-colored blade with patterns on each side. "Wait, am I inside this person's body?" Yugo wondered as he noticed he could feel the same things as the man. The man took out a card from his deck, and Yugo recognized it as his Clear Wing Synchro Dragon.
The mysterious man summoned Clear Wing, and it did something Yugo never thought was possible. It gently rubbed its head to him and the man, in turn, patted his hand on its head.
"Clear Wing seems to be in a good mood today."
The man turned around and Yugo saw a maroon-and-red-haired girl. The girl's face was obscured like the man, so only her smiling mouth was visible. As if to confirm her thoughts, Clear Wing roared in agreement.
"He'll make his debut in the tournament with the others, after all." The word's left Yugo's mouth, but they weren't in his voice. He realized he had no control whatsoever.
"Excited over a match. Like monsters, like master." The girl playfully teased while giggling.
"Hey, it's our first official tournament! It's not easy keeping all this excitement contained." The man complained as Clear Wing rubbed its head on him.
"That's very like you, Z•••."
Yugo's eyes snapped open as he woke up, heavily panting. He realized he was lying on the ground in an alleyway. His Runner was lying sideways across from him.
He stood up, rubbing his head. "I'm in New Domino City, but how did I get here?" "The last thing I remember was dueling that jerk and summoning out Clear Wing, but then it's all a blur to me afterwards. And what exactly was that... A dream?"
Explosions snapped Yugo from his thoughts. Exiting the alley, he was utterly shocked to see Chaos Ancient Gear Giants trashing the city. Clenching his fists and teeth, Yugo furiously said, "Those snakes! They're attacking us now?!"
A ringing from his Duel Disk caught his attention. It was Sora. Luckily, they all had exchanged contact numbers before they arrived at the park to help Celina and Riley.
"Yugo! Yugo, are you there?!"
"Yeah, I'm here, where are you guys?"
"We're still in the Commons Area. The entire city is in utter chaos thanks the invasion!" Sounds of chaos could be heard on the other side of the line.
"I can see that! Let's try to figure out a rendezvous! We can do better in a group!"
"We are currently heading to the Hall of Dominion! We're planning to bust out Declan and then come up with something!"
"I'm on my way!" Yugo got on his Duel Runner and sped off.
Riverbank- Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
"Attack, Raidraptor Satellite Cannon Falcon! Vengeful Vengence!" Shay ordered his Raidraptor monster to blast a Chaos Giant, effectively obliterating it.
"That was the fifth one, so far!" Crow commented.
"To imagine Duel Academy would invade now of all times." Moon Shadow grimaced as he engaged a Buster Brigadier in a sword fight, while Twilight Ninja Shingetsu fought a Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster.
The Buster Brigadier announced, "That's right, ninja! And you're all going down!"
"We have to regroup! We can't afford to be separated at a time like this!" Shay shouted as he began to wrestle with an Obelisk Red.
"This is no time for a rebellion! We have to get the people of New Domino to work together if we want to get rid of these guys! I need to make sure Shinji knows that." Crow commented as he defeated a bunch of Sector Security with Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower. "I also need to make sure those jackals are okay. With all the craziness going on, the last thing I need are those kids in trouble. I've got to find them."
Intersection - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Abyss Actor - Superstar, equipped with Abyss Script - Fantasy Magic, and Abyss Actor - Evil Heel stuck down an Ancient Gear Knight and Ancient Gear Soldier, respectively, defeating the red and yellow Duel Academy duelists controlling them. Gong followed up with his Superheavy Samurai Beast Kyuubi to destroy the Ancient Gear Golem that was controlled by a blue Duel Academy duelist.
Sylvio demanded frantically, "What's happening here?! Why are there so many of these guys?!"
"From the looks of it, Gong's gonna say Duel Academy's invading this dimension." Gong said as he saw similar duels around them.
"First it was a riot, now this." Sylvio groaned as he slapped his face with his left hand in exasperation.
"You guys, okay?" Gong asked Chojiro and the children Crow looked after right behind them.
"Yes, I manage to drive away these brutes while protecting the children. Still, we have to get out of here and regroup with the others and somehow convince everyone to work together to fight Duel Academy. This is not the time to be worrying about trivial things, such as being Topsiders or Commons." Chojiro said to the teens, the children also nodding in agreement with him.
"Don't worry! Moon Shadow said he, Shay and Crow are on their way here. Till then, we'd best hold our ground. Gong'll see if Gong can - "
"Gong!"
Before Gong could press Yuya's contact number, he heard a familiar voice call his name. The group turned to see Zuzu and Celina carrying an unconscious Yuya on their shoulders rushing to them with Riley and Sora in tow.
"Zuzu!" Gong smiled when he saw his missing childhood friend they were searching for. "Gong's glad you're okay! We've been lookin' all over for ya!"
"Sorry about that. But we have to get to Declan and tell him and the others! Duel Academy's fully invading this dimension!" Zuzu informed in a hasty tone.
"Gong can see that!" Gong frowned as he answered.
"Speaking of Duel Academy..." Sylvio turned his attention to Sora, who was holding a scared, panting Riley. "What's he doing here?! And why's Yuya napping on the job at a time like this?!"
Sora shuddered and frowned as Sylvio pointed to him hostilely but didn't say anything to retort.
Riley clung closely to Sora, much to Sylvio's surprise. "Riley?"
"You got it all wrong, Sora's one of the good guys. He saved me from Sector Security and was the one who pulled me out of that building after I lost to Sergey!" Zuzu came in between the two of them, defending the younger boy.
Seeing the unfolding scene before them, the children followed Zuzu to help defend Sora. "That's right! It was thanks to him that we got to the Underground safely!" Amanda said in Sora's defense. Frank added firmly, "Yeah! Sora's on our side!"
Sylvio was taken back at the defense Sora received, but he couldn't trust the boy after the trouble he caused in the Arc League Championship. "What if it was a trick and he is going to backstab us when the time is right?" Sylvio glared daggers at the children who wouldn't back down as they glared back.
"I trust Sora..." Yuya said weakly as he opened his eyes. "Careful now." Zuzu said with concern as he slowly stood by himself.
Turning to Sylvio, he said, "Sora helped me and Yugo defeat the Duel Academy warriors that were after Celina. He's a friend. I trust him."
Yuya's determination and straight figure was all that was needed to convince Gong. "Yuya said he is on our side, and that's good enough for Gong."
"To be honest, I don't trust him yet either. But I'll trust Yuya's judgement." Celina joined in.
Sylvio grumbled, turned away, crossed his arms, and silently pouted. Then he changed the subject. "You mentioned Yugo was with you. Where is he now?"
"He was sent to the other side of the city during the duel. We're planning to meet up at the Hall of Dominion." Celina explained.
"Yuya, you okay?" Zuzu asked in concern.
"Yeah, I'm fine. I'm just glad you're alright Zuzu..." Yuya smiled in relief at his childhood friend.
"Ahem. I hate to interrupt your touching reunion, but we need to regroup with the others." Chojiro reminded them.
Sector Security's Main Bureau - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Meanwhile, the Sector Security control center was in utter chaos. "Mobs of Commons and hordes of Duel Academy soldiers are flooding the streets and are heading to the center of the city! It's chaos everywhere!" A male operator informed Roget.
Roget answered calmly, "Instruct all units to initiate anti-riot protocols at the Duel Palace. Tell them to open all stadium gates and allow any fleeing Topsiders to enter. But absolutely no Commons or any of the invaders can be allowed inside."
"Acknowledged."
While he was calm outside, he was panicking inside. "I don't know how they were able to hide their approach from me, but I still have Sergey and the Securities under my control. I can still turn this around; I will be the king of this dimension!"
Intersection - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Another squad of Obelisk Force came at them again, alarming the Lancers. The kids and Riley, who was still exhausted from dueling and running at the same time, hid in a nearby alleyway behind some crates while the Lancers prepared to duel again.
"Zuzu, Celina, you guys stand - "
Zuzu and Celina stepped in front of Yuya with their Duel Disks activated, confusing the boy.
"We're not damsels in distress you know." Celina confidently said. "We can do this together, Yuya." Zuzu added, her resolve evident in her eyes and voice.
Yuya finally nodded after staring at them for a moment. He stood between them and activated his Duel Disk as the Obelisk Force did the same. Gong, Chojiro, and Sylvio faced the Duel Academy soldiers that came from the right of them, while Yuya, Zuzu, Celina, and Sora faced the Obelisk Force that came from the opposite direction.

"I now overlay Performapals Silver Claw and Monkeyboard to build the Overlay Network! Let's go! Cloaked in shadows and relentless in its objective, I call upon the most dangerous of dragons! I Xyz Summon! Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon(ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/RK: 4/OU: 2)!" Dark Rebellion appeared and roared with Odd-Eyes.
"I set one card face down and that ends my turn!"
"It's my turn!" Zuzu decreed. "First, I'll play the sweet-sounding spell, 1st Movement Solo! I can summon a level 4 or below Melodious Diva from my hand when there are no monsters on my Field! I summon Soprano the Melodious Songstress(ATK: 1400/DEF: 1400/LV: 4)!" Purple notes flowed out of the spell and swirled around an emerging Soprano.
"And to join the party, I summon Tamtam the Melodious Diva(ATK: 1000/DEF: 2000/LV: 4)!" Tamtam banged her gong as she came forth.
"I activate Soprano's special ability! She lets me fusion summon without Polymerization! I fuse Soprano and Tamtam! Together, you'll sing a sensational duet that will form a more melodious monster! I Fusion Summon! Bloom Diva the Melodious Choir(ATK: 1000/DEF: 2000/LV: 6). I end my turn."
"Then it's my turn! And I'll set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Lunalight Wolf(ATK: 2000/DEF: 1800/LV: 5/PS: 1) and Scale 5 Lunalight Tiger(ATK: 1200/DEF: 800/LV: 3/PS: 5)! I'll follow up by setting two cards facedown!" Sora declared as he ended his turn.
"Then it's my turn! First, I activate the spell card Polymerization, to fuse my two Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds(ATK: 1000/DEF: 1000/LV: 3)! Now check it, as these two mongrels mix into a crazed canine! I Fusion Summon! Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 1400/DEF: 1000/LV: 5)! I place a card facedown to end my turn."
As Obelisk Red ended his turn, Obelisk Yellow began his turn. "My turn now! And I'm bringing the bite straight to you with the help of this! I use Polymerization to fuse three Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds! Watch as the fury of the pack takes the shape of a single raging beast! I Fusion Summon! Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 1800/DEF: 1000/LV: 7)! I follow that up with two facedowns to end my turn."
"It's my move!" Obelisk Green declared. "I play Ancient Gear Double Imitation! By negating their special abilities, I can bring back two Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds from the graveyard! And just as before, I play Polymerization to fuse them with two other Hunting Hounds in my hand. I Fusion Summon! Say hello to the leader of the pack, Ultimate Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 2800/DEF: 2000/LV: 9)! And with it, I can really ruff you up by cutting your life points in half!" The mechanical hound shot blasts from its four mouths at them.

Your dragon isn't destroying my Hunting Hound because I activate the trap Fusion Trench!" Obelisk Green declared as he revealed his set card. "Because your dragon isn't a fusion monster, Fusion Trench stops your attack!" Obelisk Green smugly added, "The best part is that non-fusion monsters can't attack now."
Reluctantly, Yuya said, "I guess I have to end my turn. And Dark Rebellion's attack returns to normal."

"And Pianissmo will help 'cause it lowers Bloom Diva's attack points. The best is yet to come! 'Cause Bloom Diva can't be destroyed and you take all the damage I would've taken! And for the cherry on top, your Hunting Hound is destroyed!"

Despite losing Ultimate Hunting Hound and falling on his back, Obelisk Green was smirking as he stood up. "Enjoy it while you can! Because it will be the last." "I play the trap, Ancient Gear Reverse Fusion! Because you destroyed our Ultimate Hound, I can play this trap! Now we can call our mightiest monster! Stand in awe and fear of the ground-shaking, Chaos Ancient Gear Giant(ATK: 4500/DEF: 3000/LV: 10)!" With Obelisk Red's trap, Chaos Giant appeared with a stomp that shook the ground.
"I... I end my turn." Zuzu was unnerved by the colossal monster that towered over them. After all, she saw what it was capable of thanks to Dennis and Shay's duel.
Celina drew a card as she said, "Then I'm up! And now to pounce on your Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound! Panther Dancer, attack with Cataclawsmic Strike!"
"Sorry, but she's not pouncing on anything! I play the trap Fusion Dispersal, to split your feline back into two! Then you take damage equal to your red dog's attack points!" Obelisk Green said as he revealed one of his facedowns.
"Been there, done that! But it won't work now! Lunalight Ignition destroys your trap and brings my Cat Dancer back to play!" Cat Dancer appeared alongside Panther Dancer. "Good thing I added some new cards after the Arc League Championship. Otherwise. I would've made the same mistake twice!" Celina thought to herself.
"Now that that's done, Panther Dancer! Scratch out that hound!" Panther Dancer scratched Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound with its claws, causing it to cry out in pain, but didn't destroy it.

After her first swipe, Panther Dancer struck again, this time destroying the mutt.

"I play Ancient Gear Reborn to bring back Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound with 200 more attack points!" Obelisk Yellow claimed as he brought Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound from Obelisk Green's graveyard.

Shifting her attention to Obelisk Green after the monsters were revived, Celina declared, "In that case, I'll attack directly with Lunalight Cat Dancer! Full Moon Mayhem!" With a mighty kick, Cat Dancer sent Obelisk Green sprawling on his back to the ground again, this time for good.

"That's all I can do, you're up Sora!"
"Gotcha! Here goes!" Sora confirmed to Celina as he drew a card. Sora looked at Obelisk Red's face up trap and thought, "As long as Fusion Trench is out, Yuya can't attack with his monsters. So..." "I activate the spell card, Remove Trap! This'll destroy one trap on the field, and I choose Fusion Trench!" The continuous trap was destroyed, allowing non-fusion monsters to attack again.
Focusing on Obelisk Yellow, Sora ordered his attack. "Alright! Frightfur Bear, take 'em out with Pummeling Paw!"
"Oh yeah?! Well, I activate the trap Ancient Gear Double to summon another Chaos Ancient Gear Giant!" Obelisk Yellow declared as another Chaos Giant appeared.
"I... I end my turn." Sora was unsteady about the new development they were in.
"That's not all that's coming to an end!" Obelisk Red announced. "I now play Ancient Gear Double Imitation to bring in some reinforcements! So with it..." Obelisk Yellow finished. "My Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound is back!" Obelisk Red added, "So is my Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound from my graveyard!" The two-headed and three-headed hounds returned from the graveyard.
"Chaos Giant, crush Frightfur Bear!" Chaos Giant raised its left foot and prepared to step on Frightfur Bear.
"That's not happening, 'cause I activate the trap Frightfur Defender! Not only does it prevent my bear from being trampled, but it also gives it 800 more attack points!"

"Now attack those dragons!" Obelisk Red told Chaos Giant as it charged up from its right fist a massive blue beam.
Spotting an Action Card behind him, Yuya somersaulted backwards and activated it. "Don't think so! Thanks to the Action Spell, Big Escape, your Chaos Giant can't attack!" As the Action Card was activated, Chaos Ancient Gear Giant was forced to power down its blast.
"Guess I'll have to end my turn." Obelisk Red clicked his tongue in frustration. As he set a card to end his turn, Obelisk Red nodded to Obelisk Yellow.
Obelisk Yellow smirked with a smile. "You may have escaped that onslaught, but here's the next one! Chaos Giant, destroy them all!" Just as before, Chaos Giant charged its right fist.
This time, Zuzu was the one who stopped it. "That's so not happening 'cause I activate the trap Melodious Barrier! By giving up half of my life points, you can't attack this turn!" The charging of the blast was stopped again.
ZUZU LP: 2000 = 1000
"Hmph. Struggle all you like. As long as we have our giants, your fates are sealed." Obelisk Yellow said before ending his turn.
"One more attack will finish you all! Cherish your last turn, because it will be your last!" Obelisk Red claimed.
Meanwhile, the children and Riley fearfully hid behind the crates, making sure they could watch the duel without being seen.
"Is Crow still not here yet...?" Tarren asked worryingly.
Frank assured him. "He'll be here soon, I know it. We just have to wait a little longer."
Amanda held her hand tightly, trying to stop herself from shaking in fear. Despite her fear, she said, "Yuya and the others will beat them, then we'll see Crow again... I hope."
"Guys, where are the kids?!"
As if their prayers were answered, Crow, Moon Shadow and Shay came from up ahead running to them. Hearing him from their hiding place, they came out a bit and saw their guardian.
"Crow!" The children said in chorus at seeing their older brother-like figure.
Crow smiled at the kids and thought, "I knew I could count on them to keep the jackals safe."
Unfortunately, their voices caught the attention of a nearby Buster Brigadier that had just finished carding a Commons. The Buster Brigadier turned her head around and shouted, "Well, lookie here! Looks like I found a bundle of my next victims!"
The children looked her way and then ran in fear from their hiding place toward Crow. But then the unthinkable happened, Tarren tripped and fell behind Frank and Amanda.
Crow was beyond scared as he saw the female Brigadier approach Tarren's fallen form. "Get away from him, you snake!" Crow angrily yelled.
The Buster Brigadier just ignored him and proceeded to card Tarren. She raised her black Duel Disk up and pressed a button. As the purple light engulfed him, he looked up at Crow pleadingly, reaching with his trembling left hand in some hope that he could save him.
"Cro - !"
When the light disappeared, Tarren was gone. The only thing that could be seen by everyone was the female Duel Academy duelist retrieving a new blank card from her Duel Disk. The photo of Tarren in his final moments appeared on the card.
Crow froze in utter disbelieving shock. It was if time just stopped. He couldn't hear anything anymore. Not Frank and Amanda's cries, not the calls from his friends, not the explosions around him, nothing. He only stared at the card the Buster Brigadier held in her hand and screamed in distress with tears in his eyes, "TAAAARRRRRRRREEEEN!"
Inside - Hall of Dominion - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Returning from the monitor room, Declan went straight to the stairs the led to the exit of the building, instead of going to his usual place where he just stood.
Gael questioned the Lancers' leader. "Declan, are you leaving?! How dare you turn your back on the Council!"
Gray added angrily, "I thought you were going to help us get control of the city back from Roget!"
Azul voiced her concerns. "Without you fighting for us, the city will fall into further chaos! But worse, Roget will be in control instead of us. We will be powerless."
"I knew we couldn't trust him or the Lancers. They're no better than Roget. Correct, Presider?" Bordeaux said negatively.
White Taki just kept smiling. "Calm down, don't be so quick to rush to judgement."
Declan stopped in front of the door that would lead him outside and turned to face the Council. "Don't get the wrong idea, I wasn't fighting for you, I was fighting for the people. Roget's mind-controlled Security would only bring more suffering to this city, and that's why I have to stop them. But you, High Council, brought a different kind of suffering to this city."
"Our way of ruling was justified." Gael remarked. "We know what's best for the people of our great metropolis." Gray added. "Only the all-knowing High Council is capable of maintaining the peace." Added in Azul. Bordeaux asked for consensus, "Are we agreed, Presider?" Still smiling, White Taki said with closed eyes, "Our ways of governing have maintained the peace for generations here in New Domino City."
Declan closed his eyes and said "Yes. Well, it looks like your policies need to be re-evaluated, because your city, your great metropolis, isn't so great after all." Staring at the Council, he continued, "It was your ways that created a rift between the Commons and Topsiders. And instead of fixing the rift, you just ignored them and made it look like this was peace instead of trying to create the real thing. And this led to anger, which led to chaos, which led to Roget being able to steal control." The members of the High Council looked at each other while listening to these facts. "So maybe you should open up your eyes, change your ways, and stop making excuses and bring real peace to everyone."
Declan then turned around to face the door and activated his Duel Disk. "So we Lancers are still going to take down Duel Academy, Security, and Roget, because they don't deserve a free pass in how they've made this city suffer." Walking out he called out, "But, when we restore peace to the city, try not to make the same mistake twice!"
Intersection - Commons Area - New Domino City - Synchro Dimension
Yuya and his friends stared in wide-eyed shock at what just happened. Chojiro, Gong, and Sylvio were also shocked, even though they were still dueling. It had happened so fast; they couldn't do anything. They had all been so preoccupied with the duels that they forgot about the children.
"No... Tarren..." Zuzu covered her mouth with both of her hands in utter horror as she teared up, crying for the young boy who had helped her escape when being chased by Security.
The Obelisk Force started to laugh hysterically, like they had watched a comedy.
"That was utterly foolish! What kind of people give away their location when they're trying to hide?" "Ah well, it doesn't matter since you'll be joining him!"
Zuzu furiously looked at them as she yelled with tears in her eyes, "What's wrong with you guys?! He wasn't even a duelist! Just a little boy!"
"It doesn't matter to us. It's just survival of the fittest, strongest rise while the weak fall." Obelisk Red answered callously.
Yuya froze up after hearing those words, due to a beating inside him. He kept hearing more cruel voices of Duel Academy soldiers. He saw a ruined city set ablaze by Chaos Ancient Gear Giants. Without realizing it himself, he was breathing heavily as Yuto's memories of Duel Academy's invasion of the Xyz Dimension slipped into him.
Dark Rebellion and Odd-Eyes were roaring together, the beating got more intense, and Yuya felt only one emotion slowly take over - pure, unbridled rage. Not only Yuya and Yuto, who was inside him, but the dragons themselves were furious. Their rage could be felt from Yuya, as the air around him changed. Celina, Zuzu, and Sora noticed it was the same phenomenon as last night. Yuya's pupils glowed a sinister color as his eyes coldly sharpened without any of his usual kind, normal self.
"That does it... It's payback time! Since I already set the Pendulum Scale, I can Pendulum Summon again! And with it, I summon the almighty Dragoncaller Magician(ATK: 2400/DEF: 1000/LV: 7)!
Now I activate Xiangke's Pendulum Ability! It changes Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon's rank into a level!"

Zuzu was surprised at the new strategy. "It has a rank instead of a level?!"
"Now I use Xiangsheng Magician's Pendulum Ability! With it, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon's level is now the same as Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon!"

"He has two level 7 monsters... That means..." Zuzu breathed, as she knew what was coming.
"Now Dragoncaller Magician activates its special ability to change from being a Spellcaster into a Dragon!" The sorcerer swirled his staff as dragon-shaped lightning formed and crashed down on him, transforming him into a Dragon-Type. "He may not look it, but he possesses the unbridled power of a dragon's wrath!
I overlay my Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and Dragoncaller Magician to build the Overlay Network! Two savage dragons! Meld their awesome powers to give rise to a monster that will send my enemies fleeing in dread! I Xyz Summon! Prepare to feel the wrath of Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon(ATK: 3000 /DEF: 2500/RK: 7/PS: 4/OU: 2)!"
The moment the mighty dragon emerged; a black shockwave coupled with a powerful gust of wind was unleashed on the surroundings. Everyone, Duel Academy soldiers and Lancers alike, struggled to keep their ground. The Buster Brigadier that carded Tarren was almost blown away but was able to stay in place by thrusting her deployed ARC Technology sword into the ground. She loudly exclaimed, "This is unbelievable! I've never felt such intimidating power before!"
"Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon's special ability annihilates every one of your Hunting Hounds and deals you damage equal to their attack points! Overlord Howling!" With a mighty lightning-inducing roar, Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound and Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound were annihilated in an instant.
Fighting against the wind, Obelisk Red activated his facedown car. "The trap Fusion Fortress will prevent me from taking damage from your dragon's ability!"
"That won't save you! By using an overlay unit, Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon can attack as many times as the number of monsters it destroyed this turn!" Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon then had an overlay unit as it roared.

"Odd-Eyes Rebellion Dragon destroy those giants! Sweeping Static Strike!" "Fool. Our giants have more attack points than that dragon!" Obelisk Red said as Odd-Eyes Rebellion barred its blade-like tusks.
"No, they don't! Since I used Dragoncaller to Xyz Summon, Odd-Eyes Rebellion's attack points double!" Dragon-shaped lightning appeared and entered the dragon's chest doubling its attack points as the armor glowed. "But that's, 6000 attack points?!" Obelisk Red exclaimed.

The dragon was covered in purple light as its tusks glowed bright. The Chaos Giants launched their fists as one as they tried to stop it. But instead, they were disarmed, quite literally in fact, and were crushed soon after.

"Odd-Eyes, finish him off! Annihilate him with Spiral Flame Strike!" Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon blasted Obelisk Yellow as he stood there in horror at the incoming blast. He then yelled in pain as the blast depleted his life points and sent him flying.

With Obelisk Force defeated, they were teleported back to Fusion and the Action Field dispersed. Yuya heavily panted before he returned to normal. Confused, he wondered, "What just happened? Where's Obelisk Force?" Then he noticed his friends' stunned faces. "And why are Zuzu, Celina, and Sora looking at me that way?"
Before Yuya could ask what had happened, they then noticed that Sylvio, Chojiro, and Gong had defeated their enemies while Crow defeated the Buster Brigadier that carded Tarren and retrieved his card.
Yuya, Zuzu, Celina, Sora, Chojiro, Gong, and Sylvio rushed to Amanda, Frank and Crow's side. The Blackwing duelist knelt in despair, distraught over his inability to protect the youngest of the children he swore to protect. Frank and Amanda cried loud and hard over the loss of their friend that was like a little brother to them. Yuya and the others just looked sadly and silently at the scene before them.
"Maybe I should..." Yuya's thoughts of consulting his grieving friends were halted by a look from Shay that instantly told him no. Yuto's feeling from within him was giving off the same presence. After all, they had experienced the same thing when they lost Lulu and countless others to Duel Academy.
Crow took Amanda and Frank into his arms as they sadly wept. Looking at Tanner's card, Crow thought bitterly, "First these Duel Academy creeps destroy our city, now they have taken Tanner away. That does it. They're going to pay for this!"
Shay then heard something. Something spinning very fast and headed right for them. "Everyone, get down!" Hearing Shay's warning, the group was alerted to the danger. But it was too late.
Thorn Overserver Vandarlizuma knocked them all down and send them all flying away. Yuya and the others were either knocked unconscious or unable to move. Walking toward them was a person they didn't expect to see.
"Sergey?!" Yuya weakly uttered.
"Psychopath... What's the matter...? Too afraid... to fight us?" Crow uttered as he covered the children, whom he was able to protect before Vandarlizuma attacked.
Sergey ignored them and walked pass them until he was in front of Celina and Zuzu, who were immobilized by pain. "Let go of us you maniac!" Celina weakly ordered as Sergey picked them up. Yuya and the others who were still conscious tried to help but were only able to watch as Sergey placed them in his arms, as if he was simply carrying luggage.
Yuya crawled over to them, trying to reach them. But Sergey just kicked him away, like a stone. Turning his back on them, the Dueling Destroyer activated the rocket boosters in his legs and flew away. The group could just lay there helplessly watching as their friends were abducted.
"ZUZU! CELINA!" Yuya weakly called out as he watched them flying away on his side.
Zuzu screamed, "YUYA!"

I modified the chapter Frost190 made to be a little more accurate. The basis for the duel was great! But the damage calculation for Cat Dancer's direct attack on Obelisk Green and sequence of the duel didn't make sense. I mean, if it was a direct attack, it would've wiped him out! The duel itself was confusing. I also decided to add another way to summon Ultimate Ancient Gear Hunting Hound, by using four Ancient Gear monsters. I decided not to write that due to the fact that we only had two instances of Ultimate Hunting Hound in the anime, so I wanted to be more flexible. The blade the Buster Brigadier utilized is similar one that Buster Blader, the Destruction Swordmaster uses. Next time, the Chaos Inquisition's commanders reveal their plans for New Domino and Roget's true agenda is revealed to the city!
