I've been thinking... maybe I should write down how many cards the players have to make things easier. I really would like your input before the Fusion Dimension Arc begins. Please let me know in the comments.
Examination Room - Duel Academy Base - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
An unconscious Yuya was lying down on a medical table. A machine was attached to his head that connected to the room's large monitor. Two men in medical uniforms were examining him. One wrote down their findings on a clipboard, while the other observed the progress they made. When Aster and the Chaos Inquisition captain, Perceptra, arrived, they stopped and stood at attention.
"Commander Phoenix! Captain Perceptra!" The two personnel simultaneously said as they bowed respectfully.
"What's the update on Yuya Sakaki's examination? Did you find anything yet?" Aster asked as he looked at Yuya.
"Not much, sir. We haven't figured out how he was able to reverse the Human Sealing Technology and change the cards back into people." The medical personnel with the clipboard answered.
"Then what did you find?" The girl, Captain Perceptra, inquired.
The medical workers then showed the two of them a medical diagram. It consisted of a full body scan and a statistic bar.
"As you know, every person that was turned into a card carries stored energy that we can utilize as fuel. But since it's so small, we need massive amounts for it to be any use." The doctor with the clipboard said as he pointed to the red-colored part of the bar. This represented the stored energy of a person.
"But Yuya Sakaki is a different case, his energy is equal to an entire dimension's." The doctors then switched the diagram to Yuya's, revealing his energy bar was full.
"Are you sure of this?!" Aster looked at Yuya and then his statistic in disbelief.
"One more thing. It seems that his body possesses another type of energy that's unfamiliar to us. It's what keeping him from being sealed into a card. We've repeated this test over and over, with the same result. I can only say, he's not an ordinary human." The other doctor added.
Aster then looked at Yuya. Other than his skill as a duelist, he was an ordinary boy by the looks of it. "How can this boy have so much energy? The Professor said we needed the stored energy of those we turned into cards to unite the dimensions into one. That's why we did all this. But with this boy, we could have all the energy we need in order to carry out the plan."
"If we could only card him, we would be done with all this." Captain Perceptra commented. "But we can't seem too, no matter what Duel Disk we use. It just doesn't work."
"For now, imprison him until we get to the bottom of this. If we let him go, he'll send our operations into a tailspin. I'll report to the Professor on these developments. If he wakes up, report to me immediately." Aster ordered.
"Yes, sir!"
As Aster and Perceptra left, the Chaos Inquisition captain asked her commander, "Are you upset that I knocked him out rather than defeat him in a duel?" "Not as much as you would think. Honestly, I would've preferred it, but I did say to capture him no matter what." Aster confessed to her.
Unbeknownst to them, Iggy was watching them as he leaned against the wall in an adjacent hallway as they walked by him.
Outside - Duel Academy Base - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
Shay and Kite looked at the base as they hid from the guards' sight. "Okay, I got those civilians back to Duel Sanctuary. And it was a good idea to follow the tire tracks to their base. Now, we got to find a way to get Yuya back." "I was surprised as everyone else was when you told us that Yuya was captured and asked for my help to save him." Shay told him.
"Yuya made me remember some things that I'd forgotten. Anyway, how do we go about this?" Kite asked Shay.
"There seems to be some guards here. About four to five of them from what I can see. If we charge in, the men inside will surely overwhelm us. So we need to find a way in without alerting all of them."
"I can help with that."
Shay and Kite then turned around at the source of the new voice, already on guard. They blinked when they saw who it was. Shay instantly recognized the one who snuck up on them.
"Iggy Arlo, the ace of Bandit Warrior Academy in the Standard Dimension?"
"What are you doing here?" Kite demanded.
Prison Cell - Duel Academy Base - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
Yuya groaned as he woke up. He slowly sat up in bed as he came to. His vision wasn't clear at first. He blinked several times to clear his vision. As it cleared up, Yuya saw that his uniform jacket, goggles, and pendant were on a table beside him.
"You okay, Yuya?" Yuto asked worryingly.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Just after we find out where we are." Yuya said as he held his face.
"Who are you talking to, Yuya?"
Yuya widened his eyes as he recognized that voice. Turning his head towards it, he saw a fellow dueltainer behind a wall of bars.
"Dennis!"
"Hey there, Yuya! It's been a while!" Dennis cheerfully greeted Yuya with a smile and a friendly wave. "Oh. I should mention that these bars disable your Duel Disk, so you can't use your monsters to escape."
"Wait. So that means... That this is...!" "Yep! Welcome to Duel Academy's base here in the Xyz Dimension!" Dennis confirmed Yuya's suspicions.
"That's right. After I talked to Iggy, I was ambushed from behind and lost consciousness." Yuya clutched his head as it hurt to remember. Dennis rubbed his head embarrassingly. "Sorry about that. Captain Perceptra wasn't the most courteous in how she captured you, huh?"
"Wait a minute. Why are you in Heartland?" Dennis beamed as he answered Yuya's question. "I'm looking for Celina, of course! I already know where Zuzu is, so she's the last one to locate!"
"Zuzu?! You've captured her?!" Yuya tried to get up in a hurry, but he wasn't in the best condition yet. He wobbled and nearly fell on his face standing up. He was only able to prevent himself from falling by holding onto the table.
"Relax, Yuya. I can assure you she's still roaming free... For now. We haven't found out where she and Sora are in the Fusion Dimension, since Mr. Sakaki is hiding them with him."
Yuya blinked when he heard that Dennis mentioned his father's name. "Wait... Mr. Sakaki? My dad's in the Fusion Dimension?!"
"Yep!" Dennis confirmed. "Right now, all we know is that he's harboring and training runaways from the Academy to fight against us. It is troubling for us, especially since we can't find his hideaway."
"Dad..." Yuya smiled at the information Dennis gave him. "I knew he wasn't a coward. He just went on to help stop Duel Academy. And if Zuzu and Sora are with him, that means they're safe. I was worried sick about them."
"You know, when I was undercover here in the Xyz Dimension, I was your dad's student. I saw one of his shows and was inspired to become a dueltainer after that." Dennis informed Yuya as he saw him smile in relief.
"So that's why your dueling reminds me of my dad."
"But that's enough about me. I've heard that you're not only immune to being sealed into a card, but you are able to turn the people who have been back to normal... Mind sharing the secret?"
Yuya narrowed his eyes. "Not gonna happen, Dennis."
"Yeah, knew that was coming. We couldn't find much from the examination either. It's too bad we don't have the memory scanner to view your memories."
"Hold it! You guys examined me while I was unconscious?!" Yuya asked, feeling goosebumps all over his body. His face went pale at the thought of being probed without his knowledge.
Dennis chuckled at the face Yuya made. "Hahaha! Don't worry, Yuya. We didn't do anything weird. You're fine as you can see!"
Yuya blushed in embarrassment. Nevertheless, he was interested in what they found. "If you don't mind, could you tell me what you did find out? I don't know why I'm immune to being turned into a card, even though I can turn others back."
"You don't know yourself? Well, I guess it wouldn't hurt to tell you. The simplified version is that you have another energy inside you." Dennis told Yuya while pointing at said person.
"What do you mean?"
"Some mysterious white energy is constantly flowing through your body, preventing the process like an antibody. We've deduced that this energy is also being activated unconsciously."
Yuya briefly looked at his pendant and then his hand as Dennis explained. "Energy...? Before I turned others back from being cards, my pendant always emitted a white light. That I can understand, but why's its energy in me?"
"What if the energy spilled into you?" Yuto guessed.
"What do you mean, Yuto?"
"It's just a hunch, but what if your pendant transferred some of its energy into you over time as it activated?" Yuya agreed with Yuto's thought. "It would make some sense..."
"Alright, I just came to see how you're doing before Commander Phoenix sees you. Tootles!" Dennis excused himself as he started to walk away, waving to Yuya as he left.
"Dennis, wait!" Yuya called out, halting the Duel Academy dueltainer in his tracks. "After our Tag Duel in the Arc League Championship, you said my dad was your dueling hero. Was that a lie as well?"
Dennis flinched, a movement that Yuya didn't notice. "It was the truth, but it was only an act in the end. Nothing more, nothing less." He answered without looking at Yuya.
"Is that what you truly believe?"
"Yes, I do."
"I don't truly believe that." Yuya quickly retorted. Walking slowly to the bars, Yuya used them as support while talking to Dennis' back. "When we were Tag Dueling, I felt it. You weren't doing it on a whim. You were dueling for fun!"
Dennis gritted his teeth. "It was just an act. I'm just that good."
"Then turn around and prove it to me."
"Commander Phoenix will be here soon. I suggest you get some rest." Dennis simply replied, without looking at Yuya, and walked away.
"Dennis! Wait - " Yuya stumbled, legs giving out as his fatigue returned.
"Yuya, don't push yourself. Just get back on the bed and get some rest." Yuto told him out of concern.
Yuya sighed in reluctance. "Alright." Yuya then clamored back onto the bed and laid there.
"Am I being naive?" Yuya wondered. "I respect Dennis as a fellow dueltainer, even though I know he's part of Duel Academy. So I want to believe in him. Is it just wishful thinking that he isn't really just putting up a façade?"
Yuto just listened to Yuya's thoughts but didn't say anything.
Soon, Aster Phoenix arrived, footsteps alerting Yuya, who sat up in his bed. Aster stopped in front of Yuya's cell, looking at him.
"So you've awakened, Yuya Sakaki." Aster addressed in a cold tone. "Aster Phoenix." Yuya muttered in acknowledgement.
"Where's the location of the Resistance?" Aster got straight to the point. Yuya just narrowed his eyes as he said, "I won't tell you." Aster then asked about how he was able to change back the people who were sealed but was met with the same response.
Aster twitched in frustration as he crossed his arms. "You're a persistent one, aren't you? But I guess being loyal to your friends is no different than my loyalty to the Professor."
"What happened between you and dad? As the son of Yusho Sakaki, I have a right to know." Yuya firmly told Aster, not giving the commander any room for refusal.
Aster closed his eyes in understanding. "I'll tell you... I... dueled him right when I got this dimension..."
Past - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
"Yusho Sakaki, I've heard a lot about you. You're the one who's been spouting nonsense about dueling to make people happy?"
"Well, you're half-correct." Yusho admitted.
"Half?"
"I do want to spread joy to others with my dueling, but I never said it was nonsense , dear boy."
"That's enough! As an enemy of Duel Academy, I'll turn you into a card. Prepare for battle!" Aster then activated his Duel Disk's blue blade.
"I swore that I would crush and humiliate your father, to prove that Duel Academy ruled the battlefield!"
"Now Dystopia, unleash your fury! Attack!" After Aster's Dystopia had slammed Yusho into a broken wall, Aster said, "It seems that I've broken you already."
Even if he was injured, Yusho simply got up smiling."Now then, I believe it's my turn. I activate... the spell card Smile World!" "That was the turning point in the duel... Things went form good to horrible in a flash." Aster collapsed to the ground to his knees, placing his hands on the ground to prop himself up as his life points went form 800 to 0 in and Yusho won the duel.
Aster was shocked at his defeat. "I lost... But how is that possible?"
"Cheer up, lad." Yusho hobbled over to him, using his cane to walk. "At least you had fun."
"Fun? I lost! What's fun about that? I failed Duel Academy."
"Come on, failure's such a harsh word." Yusho explained. "But if you're feelin' down, the only way to go is up!" Yusho then offered a Smile World to him. "So forget all your conquering Duel Academy nonsense and duel with a smile!"
"Hold up... Are you seriously expecting me to turn my back on Duel Academy?" Aster, still in shock, asked Yusho if was seriously asking that he'd turn his back on Duel Academy. "I am." Yusho replied before smiling, hoping Aster would say yess. Aster then stared at Yusho and then the offered card, before he took Smile World with a trembling hand and ripped it in two.
"Never!" Aster angrily told Yusho he wouldn't be fooled into betraying the Academy and that dueling isn't for fun. The tearing of the card shocked Yusho.
"You're trying to trick me! I won't be fooled! Dueling isn't for fun! You're trying to trick me into betraying Duel Academy and the Professor, but it won't work!" While having his episode of frantic protesting, Aster hysterically screamed as he held his head.
"Aster... please trust me." Yusho asked Aster as he bent down to pick up the top half of the torn Smile World card. Suddenly, Yusho and the card half disappeared in the same blue light of the Interdimensional Technology as if he just teleported away. When Aster finally calmed down and looked up, he noticed Yusho was gone.
"Where is he?!" Aster looked around, wondering what happened.
"I haven't seen your father since, Yuya. For a sec, I thought he got sent to another dimension. It happens a lot around here."
Aster then noticed the bottom half of the Smile World card he tore in half. "But then I remembered, your dad's a trickster. He was trying to trick me again. He knows that I'll turn him into a card if I ever find him. He couldn't have gone far. I knew he was somewhere in the city, hiding from me. So I searched high and low until one day, lo and behold, I find his son. The one clue to finding Yusho Sakaki falls into my lap. A coincidence? No. Destiny!" Aster remembered his days of aimlessly walking around the destroyed Heartland City until he met Yuya.
Present - Prison Cell - Duel Academy Base - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
"The Professor is the one whose right! I won't be fooled into betraying him!" Aster clenched his right hand, which held his half of Smile World into a fist to emphasize this point.
"Betraying those who you trust's one thing but hurting everyone else just to get what you want is another one! Everyone in Heartland has been emotionally hurt by you!" Yuya griped the bars tight as he glared at Aster.
"Sacrifices are sometimes needed to make a better world." Aster answered simply. His voice smooth and without a hitch.
"There's nothing worth making people suffer just so a perfect world is made!" Yuya argued. He and Yuto saw red upon hearing Aster's calm attitude and acting like nothing was wrong. "Its means to get it doesn't justify its goals!"
"The Professor said that everyone will be returned to normal in the new world. In the end, all will be - "
"The same!" Yuya interrupted Aster before he finished his excuse. "Even if the people return to normal, it won't erase the damage you've caused them! You know that, and yet, you're still going along with it. You're just being selfish!"
Aster twitched upon Yuya's claims. "Shut up! You and your father are the selfish ones!" "What?!" Aster then grabbed Yuya by the shirt through the bars and yanked him towards him. "You claim that dueling is only for fun and to understand others, but you don't understand us at all! You decided what Duel Academy does is cruelty without trying to understand us first!"
Yuya flinched. Before he could justify his reasoning, Aster continued, "You two claim that dueling for fun is the right thing, as if it would solve everything. It's nothing but your own self-satisfaction!"
Aster pulled on Yuya's shirt and shoved him to the cell floor. Yuya winced in pain as he hit the flooring, but quickly got up and glared back at Aster with the same annoyance and anger he had.
"And what about you? You guys laugh at others' pain as if it were a comedy and treat your work as a cruel game of hide-and-seek! You call that doing the right thing?!" Yuya accusingly pointed at Aster as he said that.
Aster then coldly turned his back to Yuya. "Enough. The Professor has ordered to transport you to him first thing tomorrow. You can't do anything in that cell, so I suggest you behave until then. This conversation is over."
Aster quickly left the room. Yuya fell back on the bed, sighing. He looked at the ceiling as Aster's cruel words played back in his mind. "You two claim that dueling for fun is the right thing, as if it would solve everything. It's nothing but your own self-satisfaction!"
"It's just like Kite. I can't understand Aster's feelings. Is what he said true? Am I just being selfish?"
"No, Yuya! That isn't true. Harming others just to get what you want is wrong, no matter the reason!" Yuto told his counterpart, trying to dissuade him from the hurtful words that Aster told him. "But what if he's right? Sora and the other duelists from Duel Academy didn't think they were doing the wrong thing. How can I make them smile if I can't understand them?" Yuya covered his face with his arms as he began to despair over the fact.
Out of the blue, the boys heard grunting. It was like the kind of grunt you hear when you're knocked unconscious. Then came the sound of someone collapsing to the floor.
Yuya looked up and saw that there were two people running to him. They were the last people he expected to see in the base.
"Kite! And Iggy?!"
Command Room - Duel Academy Base - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
"Commander!" A Duel Academy duelist barged into the command room in a panic, as Captain Perceptra and Noro were arguing with each other about how the new chain of command would work. Mainly on who would be Aster's second-in-command.
"What is it?" Aster asked, while he sat on the throne, pinching his forehead with his left fingers. "Yuya Sakaki has escaped!" This got the higher-ups' attention. "Apparently, Iggy Arlo and Kite Tenjo broke him out and are now on the run."
"I suppose this was to be expected from Iggy." Captain Perceptra sighed. "He probably had his vendetta settled with Yuya during their duel."
"And it also appears that one of the Resistance has stolen one of our jeeps. We're guessing that they're attempting to escape using it. Shall we stop them?"
Perceptra quickly recomposed herself and gave her answer before Aster or Noro could speak. "No. This may be an opportune time to test a new tactical advantage from the Research Division."
"W-What do you mean?" Noro asked. Perceptra just looked at him and ordered, "Just send one of your best to meet me in the garage. I'll have my squad supply him with what is needed."
Perceptra then calmly walked away, ignoring the questioning stares Aster and Noro were giving her. "We can still turn this setback into a useful research endeavor on the capabilities of our new vehicles."
Streets - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
The desolate, quiet streets of Heartland were abruptly broken by the sound of a fast-moving car engine and squealing tires.
A jeep was going full speed in the streets, speeding away from the Duel Academy base. Inside, Iggy, Kite, and Yuya held for dear life as Shay drove like a madman.
"Um, Shay? When did you learn to drive a car?!" Yuya was scared out of his mind at how erratic Shay drove. The same went for the other two.
"We once stole one of these and thought we could use it. I learned how to drive thanks to that." Shay answered.
All of a sudden, the boys heard a noise. A familiar noise of a familiar engine. Looking behind them, they saw the cause of the noise.
There, behind them in hot pursuit, were two Duel Runners mounted by Captain Perceptra and a blue Fusion Warrior.
Captain Perceptra's was a streamlined, white Duel Runner. It was modeled to look like a White Dragon Wyverburster. The front wheel was a rotating blue orb in front of its central chest armor. The head made the front, the frontal wings the sides, and the curving tail as the backrest as the feet held the back wheel in place.
The one that the Fusion Warrior rode on was a sturdy, dark green Duel Runner that was designed after Ancient Gear Hunting Hound. The front resembled the Hound's head. The Fusion Warrior wore a helmet that color-coded his uniform but was styled to resemble the head of a Chaos Ancient Gear Giant.
"You will not escape us!" Captain Perceptra proclaimed. "Form on me! Prepare to launch dueling protocols!" "Yes ma'am!"
"Since when did Duel Academy get Duel Runners?!" Yuya exclaimed. "Don't know, but it appears they have them now!" Shay observed while driving.
"Don't worry! I can handle them!" Iggy told them as he climbed on top of the roof. As soon as he stood on top of the roof, the duel commenced.
[Let's duel!]
"I'll make the first move. I draw!" Iggy drew a card as he began his turn. "When there's no monsters on the Field, I can summon Hyuga the Earth Star(ATK: 1200/DEF: 500/LV: 4)!" Iggy summoned a Warrior-Type monster cladded in blue armor, wielding a black spear. "And by tributing Hyuga, I can summon Hayate the Earth Star(ATK: 2100/DEF: 0/LV: 5). That's it for me."
"You are quite right! That is it for you! 'Cause I play the spell Polymerization, to fuse my Buster Blader(ATK: 2600/DEF: 2300/LV: 7) and my White Dragon Wyverburster(ATK: 1700/DEF: 1800/LV: 4)! Tremble as the mighty slayer, gains the devastating power of dragons! I Fusion Summon! Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman(ATK: 2800/DEF: 2500/LV: 8)!" Captain Perceptra summoned the Chaos Inquisition's ace monster to the field.
"And for a little insurance, I'm activating my spell, Buster Origins, and thanks to that, I can activate Wizard Buster Destruction Sword(ATK: 1200/DEF: 900/LV: 3)'s ability from my hand. I'm equipping it to my Dragon Destroyer Swordsman to give it 1200 more attack points!" Wizard Buster gave Dragon Destroyer the two blades it held as soon as it appeared on the field. Dragon Destroyer Swordsman sheathed its original blade in favor of the two new swords it received. Wizard Buster then stayed close as it flew near Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman as soon as the new blades were taken.
Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman(ATK: 2800 = 4000/DEF: 2500/LV: 8)
"Now, I'll show you who's superior on the battlefield! Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, split that Earth Star in half! And since I suspect that monster you used to summon Hayate had some kind of special ability when it's in the graveyard, my Wizard Buster's effect now activates! It negates the effect of cards in your graveyard when a battle with a Buster Blader is occurring!" Dragon Destroyer then used the swords Wizard Buster gave it to create a pool of toxic sludge under Hayate, electrocuting it and preventing Hyuga from activating its special ability from the graveyard, if any.
Captain Perceptra continued her attack with Dragon Destroyer. "Dragon Destroyer Swordsman, mince this opposition!" "Hayate isn't going anywhere! Because thanks to its own special ability, Hayate negates this battle." "But you'll still take damage, thanks to my spell Destruction Sword Familiar's Rage. Now you'll take damage equal to Wizard Buster's attack points!" Iggy's monster dodged the dual sword cross attack, but Wizard Buster then ferociously charged at Iggy, swiping at him with its claws. The strikes made Iggy flinch as scratch marks were made on the arm he used to shield himself.
IGGY LP: 4000 = 2800
"I think that'll do for now." Captain Perceptra placed one card face down, thus ending her turn.
"My turn now!" The blue Fusion Warrior started his turn. "I'm gonna kick it off by activating the spells Ancient Gear Fortress and Ancient Gear Catapult.
And because I have no monsters, Ancient Gear Catapult destroys my Fortress, allowing me to activate its ability! I can now summon Ancient Gear Gadget(ATK: 500/DEF: 2000/LV: 4) from my deck!" Ancient Gear Gadget spun around before revealing itself as it was summoned.
"And since my Ancient Gear Fortress was destroyed, I can summon Ancient Gear Wyvern(ATK: 1700/DEF: 1200/LV: 4) directly from my hand! Which in turn, allows me to add an Ancient Gear monster from my deck to my hand." The Fusion Warrior added Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon(ATK: 3000/DEF: 3000/LV: 9) to his hand.
"Now my Gadget's ability activates! I can now treat it as Red Gadget(ATK: 1300/DEF: 1500/LV: 4)." The spirit of Red Gadget entered Ancient Gear Gadget as the effect was activated.
"I tribute my Gadget and my Wyvern to summon my deck's mightiest monster! So say hello to the savage, the mighty, Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon!"
"Reactor Dragon, squash Hayate! And don't try to negate this battle, because Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon negates your monster's special abilities. And for the cherry on top, it can attack twice at turn, so you're done!" "Don't think so! 'Cause Hyuga's effect is still in play, so Hayate will survive!" A blue energy barrier sphere shielded Hayate against the attacks.
IGGY LP: 2800 = 1900
As the Fusion Warrior ended his turn, Shay told them all, "Hang on, everyone!"
Shay whipped the steering wheel to a hard right, ending the vehicle up over the sidewalk and into a side alley. Iggy was carried by his monster as the turn was made, keeping his eyes on his opponents. Shay already went back into drive and was pulling out across the ruins. Swinging a hard left, Shay floored the accelerator, throwing his passengers into their seats, as the speedometer steadily increased to 70 miles an hour.
"I'm not feeling so good... sick even..." Yuya moaned as his face paled. Yuto felt sorry for Yuya, being forced to experience Shay's driving expertise.
Shay applied the brakes at just the right time, send them into a high-speed drift in a leftward direction around a corner and through a broken traffic light. Iggy stood up on top of the jeep with Hayate's help.
When he got himself stabilized, he drew a card. "Since I control Hayate, I can summon Tenma the Sky Star(ATK: 2100/DEF: 0/LV: 5) without tributing another monster.
I activate Polymerization! I fuse together Tenma and Hayate! You're in for a pounding. I'll strike hard and bring you down fast. Never to rise again!" Iggy performed his martial art poses as he Fusion Summoned. "I Fusion Summon! Idaten the Conqueror Star(ATK: 3000/DEF: 2200/LV: 10)!"
"I applaud you for bringing out your ace, but it will not save you!" Captain Perceptra told Iggy.
"Yes, it will! Because I equip the spell Shooting Star Sword onto Idaten, so when it destroys a lower level monster in battle, it can attack again!" Idaten twirled its new weapon around before brandishing it at its enemies.
"Idaten, send that Reactor Dragon to the junk heap!" "But they have the same number of attack points! They'll both be destroyed!" The blue Fusion Warrior exclaimed in shock.
"Not gonna happen! Because when Idaten attacks, it reduces the attack points of the monster it's battling down to zero!" Idaten flew forward, and Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon's attack points zeroed out before it was cut in half.
Ancient Gear Reactor Dragon(ATK: 3000 = 0/DEF: 3000/LV: 9)
FUSION WARRIOR LP: 4000 = 1000
"Since my Idaten destroyed level nine Reactor Dragon, thanks to my Shooting Star Sword, it can attack again. So it's time to wipe out your Dragon Destroyer! And just like before, your monster's attack points are dropped down to zero!" Idaten used its blade and sliced Captain Perceptra's monster down the middle, even as it used its swords to try and block the attack.
Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman(ATK: 4000 = 0/DEF: 2500/LV: 8)
CAPTAIN PERCEPTRA LP: 4000 = 1000
"Too bad! You may have cleared the field, but you were just 1000 life points short. That means we still have a chance to turn this duel around!" The Fusion Warrior told Iggy.
"No there won't! 'Cause I activate De-Fusion! It splits my Idaten back into the monsters that I used to summon it!" Idaten split back into Tenma and Hayate, which Iggy promptly used to take the two Duel Academy duelists down.
FUSION WARRIOR, CAPTAIN PERCEPTRA LP: 1000 = 0
The two Duel Runners were forced to stop upon their riders' defeat. The two Duel Academy duelists looked on as the jeep got away. As soon as they got far enough away from them, Captain Perceptra just chuckled, before proceeding to press a button on her Duel Disk dashboard.
The moment the button was pushed, something snapped in the jeep, causing smoke to rise from underneath it. Shay quickly managed to evacuate himself and the others, thanks to his sharp instincts telling him that something was wrong.
Using their aerial monsters, the escapees watched as the jeep blew up. Debris flying everywhere, none of it landing anywhere near Captain Perceptra or her partner, due to them being a safe distance away.
"I don't think I want to ride in a car for a while..." Yuya quietly told Yuto, Iggy, and Kite, who silently nodded, so not to insult their driver.
The Fusion Warrior whined as he slammed his fist on the dashboard of his Runner in frustration. "This can't be! They were up against a captain of the Chaos Inquisition and an honor student of Duel Academy, and they still got away?!"
As they watched the enemy leave, Captain Perceptra calmly talked to the Fusion Warrior behind her, without looking at him. "They may have won the duel, but now we know our new vehicles work. Neither side has gained an advantage over the other this time. So do not fret. The war will be ours."
Official Cards I Modified:
