Command Room - Duel Academy Base - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
The headquarters of Duel Academy's Xyz Dimension Division was in a frenzied buzz. Everyone was rushing here and there, while Aster commanded them.
"Assemble the teams! We are moving out in five!" Aster shouted. He was met with a united "yessir" from his men.
"My, oh my. Commander Phoenix is really revved up for this, isn't he?" Dennis sighed as while watching the personnel running around.
"We're about to wrap things up here in this dimension after all." Captain Perceptra told him as she walked up to him with the Tyler Sisters.
"Thanks to my skills, we know where the Lancers, the last pocket of the Resistance, and what remaining survivors have gathered. And now we can wipe them out in one relentless onslaught." Captain Perceptra's tone had a hint of sinister pleasure at this thought. Gloria had her arms crossed, indicating she was ready to go.
"Speaking of that, how did you find them if you never moved from your spot?" Gloria asked curiously. Perceptra turned her head to the blonde and put her finger to her own mouth in a shushed form. "Trade secret, darling. Never mind about me, what's wrong with your sister?"
The three Academy duelists redirected their attentions to the silver-haired twin of Gloria's, who was sighing with a blushed, dreamy, dazed expression. They sweatdropped at the woman's display.
"She's been like this ever since you lost to Yuya and Shay." Perceptra commented. "It's a bit concerning."
Gloria didn't answer. She instead sighed and facepalmed as she sweatdropped at her sister's state.
"I just can't wait to see Yuya again~." Grace said while thinking of said boy. "I'm looking forward to having fun with his dueltaining again~."
"Fun?! You think it's fun to lose?!" Gloria scolded her sister, who shrugged it off as if it weren't a problem.
"Chill out. I'm just saying that Yuya knows how to put on a show. Come on, sis, admit it. You like so enjoyed the sweetness of Yuya's awesome dueltaining." Grace teased Gloria.
Gloria blushed as she tried to deny it. "Maybe a smidge. But don't be ridiculous! He's an enemy, remember?!"
"Just because he's our enemy, doesn't mean that we have to hate him. As long as we remember our goal, it's not bad that we love him." Grace's nonchalant reply caused the three of them to go bug-eyed with surprise.
"You idiot! You're not supposed to fall in love with the enemy when you're trying to destroy them!" Perceptra reprimanded Grace, which the directee ignored.
While the girls had their one-sided argument, Dennis walked away as he pondered something.
"There's so much on my mind that I need to get sorted out. First, Yuya is immune to being sealed into a card and he's able to turn those that are back to normal. Not only that, but he's been able to charm the two twins that are notorious for being ruthless. At this rate, it's not a farfetched idea that Yuya could sway all of Duel Academy over to his side of thinking.
Second, Celina was able to perform a Contact Fusion and summon a monster with insane abilities to boot.
Third, and probably the one most on my mind right now, is what I saw during the duel. When that spell, Smile Universe, was activated, I saw some sort of vision. And no matter how hard I try; I can't push those three kids out of my mind.
Is it because I've been working too hard? No. It was almost like a hidden memory." Dennis covered his face as he wondered why he was like this.
"Focus! You've completed your assignments here, it's time to work on the other matter."
Dennis looked in the direction of the room where the interdimensional teleportation device was kept and headed in that direction.
"I'm a member of Duel Academy. I mustn't be swayed by things I did on a whim. It's time I report to the Professor on Zuzu's whereabouts. Duel Academy for life!"
Later - Duel Sancutary - Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
Yuya had just finished helping with the laundry. He sighed and sat down, finally getting some rest. Not too far from him, Celina happily conversed with Saya and several other Resistance members, making him smile at the sight.
"It's good to see them acting like friends, especially how awkward it was when they first met her, due to the fact she resembles Lulu, and previously being part of Duel Academy. But now they're acting like friends should be, getting along."
Putting that matter aside, Yuya, for once, was trying to make a poker face. "But... ever since our duel with the Tyler Sisters, Yuto has been almost unresponsive to me. He hasn't been responding to me at all. And he's been staring off into space as if he has been daydreaming. He's gotta be thinking about that defector from the Resistance the Tyler Sisters were talking about. And knowing how much he was treasured and respected by Yuto's friends from what Saya told Celina, it's no wonder why his face turns a little dim when I bring it up.
I guess this person was special to him as well. Should I try to ask him again? No. It just would hurt him more. But I can't let Yuto go on like this. What should I do?"
"Yuya. I can hear your thoughts, you know. We're sharing a body." Yuto's response surprised Yuya, realizing he had let his own thoughts slip out by accident.
"S-sorry. If you don't want to tell me about it, I can understand that." Yuya replied, embarrassed that his thoughts had been heard.
"No. Saya's right. You deserve to know the truth." Yuto sighed as sat down next to Yuya.
"I'll admit that I am curious, but if you really don't wanna talk about it, it's okay." Yuya muttered as he remembered the darkened face Yuto made when the Tyler Sisters mentioned the fact.
"No... it's fine. Really. I don't mind talking about it." Yuto took a soft deep breath and released it. He then began. "The guy was a childhood friend of mine. We used to live in the same neighborhood."
"He was what?!" Everyone looked at Yuya when he shouted. Covering his mouth, Yuya excused himself to a more private area to continue the conversation.
Once they were alone, Yuto continued. "The guy was the one who introduced me to Dueling. If it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't have become a duelist..."
Yuya could sense a tinge of fondness in Yuto's voice as he told his story. This confirmed his feeling. "This guy wasn't just a childhood friend of Yuto; he was the one who introduced him to dueling. No wonder he cares about this person so much."
"He and his family moved away when I was ten. I didn't see him again for a very long time."
"That is, until you entered Heartland's Clover School?"
Yuto nodded, unconsciously smiling as he continued. "Yeah. It was during those days that we met. Kite was already the best, but the guy I knew could've been the better duelist. If only he didn't quit school..."
"Quit school? Why'd he do that?" Yuya asked curiously.
Yuto shook his head. "I have no idea. He didn't want to tell us, and we respected that. But sometimes he came to visit and to help us in our studies. We all adored him."
Yuto's smile was slowly replaced with a frown. "After his betrayal, I only grieved and thought I could never forgive him. But to be honest, I don't think I can bring myself to hate the guy, even after all he's done to us... But now looking back, there were times he didn't act like his kind and gentle self. Come to think of it, it probably also means that I actually know very little about him."
"Yuto." If he still had a physical body, Yuya would've patted him on the back.
"Shay didn't take the betrayal so well, so please don't talk about anything about him, okay?"
Yuya agreed. Considering how Shay and Kite had acted before getting to know Yuya and how Shay reacted when dueling the sisters, it wasn't surprising to learn about how they felt.
"What's... his name...?"
As Yuto opened his mouth to answer, a quake shook the building, followed by the sound of an explosion. Yuya and Yuto didn't hesitate to go see what was going on. They ran outside with the other Lancers and the Resistance to see what was happening. When they got to the top of the stairway leading to their current hideout and headquarters, their eyes widened in shocked horror to find the cause of the ruckus.
There, at the bottom of the path of stairs, was a huge Duel Academy army, with three Chaos Ancient Gear Giants standing behind them.
"Duel Academy?!" "How'd they find us?!"
Glaring at the Duel Sancutary, in front of the entire army with Captain Perceptra and Noro at his sides, was Commander Phoenix. Pointing with his hand, he ordered the three Chaos Giants to blast the only shelter the people of Heartland had left. They did so, barely missing the building as the blasts' explosions surrounded it.
"Except for Yuya Sakaki and Celina, card each and every one of them!"
Aster's command was met with the Duel Academy warriors yelling a war cry as they ascended the stairs towards their enemies.
"Yuya, Celina, Allen, Saya! You four go and evacuate the civilians!" Shay ordered as he and the other Resistance members activated their Duel Disks.
"But we wanna help!" Yuya protested.
"Yeah! We're not weaklings in distress!" Celina insisted.
"They're the ones in the most danger here! We need to ensure the safety before they're turned into victims too! Allen and Saya can't protect them on their own, so you need to help 'em! As soon as they're safe, come back here and help us!" Kite told the two Lancers, agreeing with Shay.
Yuya and Celina looked back at the people. Seeing that they all had horrified looks on their faces and were continually shaking in fear, Yuya and Celina looked at each other and agreed that this was no time to be stubborn. Together with Saya and Allen, they gathered as many of the civilians as they could and escorted them away, while Shay and the other Resistance members kept the forces of Duel Academy back as they escaped.
"We can't afford to waste any time. We're heavily outnumbered." Celina stated.
"I know. That's why we have to get back and help everyone." Yuya replied.
The evacuees went behind the Sanctuary to make their escape. Saya and Allen escorted the civilians from the front while Yuya and Celina covered the rear. Midway in the getaway, perhaps maybe about 10 minutes since they evacuated, they were intercepted by a squad of Obelisk Force, who wickedly grinned at them.
"End of the line, folks! Hand over Yuya Sakaki and Celina, and this won't be painful... much."
Allen activated his Duel Disk as he declared, "If you wanna 'em, you're gonna have to come and take them!" Saya also activated her Duel Disk.
"That's right!" Yuya told them as he and Celina joined the duel, thus activating the Action Field.
GENERATING ACTION FIELD: CROSSOVER
[Let's duel!]
"I'll go first!" Allen declared as he drew his hand. "And I'll kick it off with Ruffian Railcar(ATK: 1800/DEF: 1000/LV: 4)! Since I can't attack on the first turn, I can deal out 500 points of damage instead, thanks to its special ability!"
OBELISK FORCE LP: 4000 = 3500
"You're gonna regret that!" Obelisk Yellow declared as he began his turn. "I summon my Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 1000/DEF: 1000/LV: 3)!
And whenever you have a monster out, my Hunting Hound can blast you with 600 points of damage! So here's a return fire with 100 extra points of damage!" Obelisk Yellow pointed at Allen, as the special ability dealt him 100 more points of damage than what he had inflicted on them.
ALLEN LP: 4000 = 3400
"And now I'll bring out something with a little more bite with the help of this!" Obelisk Yellow played Polymerization as he declared his move. "Thanks to Polymerization, I can fuse my Ancient Gear Hunting Hounds! Watch as the fury of the pack takes the shape of a single raging beast! I Fusion Summon! Your dog days will never be over with Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 1800/DEF: 1000/LV: 7) on your tail!"
And I'm setting my pooch loose on four-eyes over there!" Obelisk Yellow declared as he ordered his three-headed hound to attack a shocked Saya.
"That's not fair!" Allen exclaimed. "She's hasn't even had a turn yet!"
"Saya!" Celina exclaimed as the mechanical cerberus lunged toward her frightened friend.
"Don't worry! My Construction Train Signal Red(ATK: 1000/DEF: 1300/LV: 3)'s got her covered! Thanks to its special ability, my choo-choo can't be destroyed in battle and intercepts the attack!" Allen summoned his train-like monster on Defense Mode, which prevented him from taking damage from blocking the attack.
"Guess I have to end my turn." Obelisk Yellow sneered as he placed his last two cards facedown.
"Thanks, Allen." Saya said with gratitude as she began her turn. "It's my turn! I summon forth, Little Fairy(ATK: 800/DEF: 800/LV: 3)! And by sending my Dancing Fairy(ATK: 1700/DEF: 1000/LV: 4) to the graveyard, she gains one level." Saya sent her monster from her hand to the graveyard, causing the three Dancing Fairies to surround Little Fairy and sprinkle dust that made her level become 4.
Little Fairy(ATK: 800/DEF: 800/LV: 3 = 4)
Saya then activated a spell card. "I activate the spell card, Fairy Dust! This powder turns Signal Red into a Fairy and raises its level by one!"
Construction Train Signal Red(ATK: 1000/DEF: 1300/LV: 3 = 4)
"And thanks to Fairy Dust, I can now use Signal Red to Xyz Summon. I overlay my Little Fairy and Allen's Signal Red to build the Overlay Network! This monster's got the pom-pom's that pummel! I Xyz Summon Fairy Cheer Girl(ATK: 1900/DEF: 1500/RK: 4/OU: 2)!
Since I used Fairy Dust on Allen's Signal Red before I Xyz Summoned, my Fairy gains 500 more attack points!"

"Fairy Cheer Girl, send that Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound to the pound!" Per Saya's command, Fairy Cheer Girl punched the mechanized mutt with her pom-pom, destroying the three-headed Ancient Gear monster.

"Fairy Cheer Girl's special ability activates! By using one overlay unit, I can draw a card. And now I'll place one facedown and end my turn!"

"Those two are a great combo huh?" Celina mused as she looked at the pair to Yuya, who agreed.
"Allen and Saya have been friends even before we met them in school. They are also very close to Kite, in a similar manner that Shay and I are with Lulu." Yuto revealed while smiling at his friends' teamwork.
"Don't be smug! You may have destroyed one Triple Ancient Gear, but I'm using Polymerization to summon another one!" Obelisk Red summoned another copy of the monster that Saya destroyed.
"And I'm not done! I play Fusion Recovery, which lets me get back my Polymerization and one of my Hunting Hounds! Next, I play Pot of Greed to draw two more cards! And with it, I can fuse my Hound with my newly acquired Ancient Gear Knight(ATK: 1800/DEF: 500/LV: 4)!
Now check it, as this mongrel and warrior mix into a relentless beast! I Fusion Summon! Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 1400/DEF: 1000/LV: 5)!
Attack - " Before Obelisk Red could declare his attack, Saya did a backflip and seized an Action Card, activating it.
"Not so fast! With my Action Card, Big Escape, you're not allowed to attack this turn!"
Allen couldn't hide his surprise. "When did you learn to do that?!"
"It's all because of Celina." Saya answered as she smiled at Celina who nodded in return. "Thanks to my memory of the Ancient Gear deck that Obelisk Force uses, I was able to help her find a way to deal with it before they could use that mongrel to attack us before we had a turn." Celina explained.
"Don't get too excited just because I'm forced to end my turn." Obelisk Red bitterly remarked as he set down his last card.
"But I'll be enthusiastic about this!" Celina told him as she began her turn. "I'm setting the Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Lunalight Wolf(ATK: 2000/DEF: 1800/LV: 5/PS: 1) and Scale 5 Lunalight Tiger(ATK: 1200/DEF: 800/LV: 3/PS: 5)! Now I can summon monsters between levels 2 and 4, all at the same time! I Pendulum Summon, the blazing brilliant Lunalight Crimson Fox(ATK: 1800/DEF: 600/LV: 4) and the spectacularly colorful and mesmerizing Lunalight Kaleido Chick(ATK: 1400/DEF: 800/LV: 4)!
"And thanks to my Lunalight Wolf's Pendulum Ability, I can Fusion Summon without Polymerization! But first, I'm activating Kaleido Chick's special ability! By sending my Lunalight Cat Dancer(ATK: 2400/DEF: 2000/LV: 7) to the graveyard, my Chick becomes her!" Kaleido Chick then became treated as such as she turned into Cat Dancer.
"Now I fuse, my Lunalight Crimson Fox with my Kaleido Chick turned Cat Dancer! By combining the reflexes of a fierce feline and the blazing cleverness of a fox, I can create a new lunar legend! I Fusion Summon! Now appear sleek creature of the night, and ready those razor-sharp claws! Lunalight Panther Dancer(ATK: 2800/DEF: 2500/LV: 8) is on the prowl!"
"Excellent! I activate Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound's ability! And it really bites for you, because once per turn, I can attach a Gear Counter to your monster." Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound launched a five-toothed gear at Panther Dancer, which floated above her.
"You think that tiny gear is going to stop me? Well you're wrong, 'cause now it's time to let her loose on your Hunting Hounds! Go, Panther Dancer! Scratch out those mutts with Cataclawsmic Strike!"
"Maybe you should've been more worried about that gear, because now it automatically destroys your monster!" The Gear Counter exploded as Panther Dancer charged at Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound.
"That's not a concern for me, because my Panther is immune to your card's effects!" Lunalight Panther Dancer emerged from the cloud of smoke from the explosion, unscathed. She then proceeded to rip Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound to scrap metal with two attacks, via her special ability.

"That's one down, and one to go! And thanks to her ability, my Panther now gets a 200 point power boost since she destroyed your Hunting Hound!"
Lunalight Panther Dancer(ATK: 2800 = 3000/DEF: 2500/LV: 8)
Obelisk Red smirked before he revealed his facedown. "I activate the trap, Ancient Gear Howling! Now, for the rest of this turn, my Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound gains attack points equal to your Panther's attack points!"
Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 1400 = 4400/DEF: 1000/LV: 7)
Celina jumped to a floating board and grabbed an Action Card before the attack collided. "I may have lost this battle, but Miracle will make sure my Panther Dancer survives to fight another day!"
A translucent barrier blocked Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound's retaliation strike after Panther Dancer failed to destroy it.
CELINA LP: 4000 = 2600
"I place one card facedown and end my turn." Celina declared as Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound's attack went back to normal.
Double Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 4400 = 1400/DEF: 1000/LV: 7)
"I'll give you this, Celina. You have indeed changed your game by using Pendulum Summoning and Action Cards, but it's still not enough to beat us." Obelisk Green stated before beginning his turn.
"And to prove it, I'm activating the spell card Ancient Gear Scarp Fusion! This lets me fuse together any Ancient Gear monsters that the three of us have in our graveyards! And the monsters I select..."
"Are the Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound in my graveyard..." Obelisk Red finished the sentence after Obelisk Yellow. "And the Ancient Gear Hunting Hound in my graveyard!"
"Say hello to the leader of the pack... Ultimate Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 2800/DEF: 2000/LV: 9)!" Obelisk Red announced as Obelisk Green's Fusion Summon finished and brought the four-headed version of their Hunting Hound.
"And this isn't the end of it! I play Ancient Gear Double Imitation!" Obelisk Green announced. "So my Triple Ancient Gear Hunting Hound is coming back from my graveyard." Obelisk Yellow's declaration was added on by Obelisk Red. "As is my Ancient Gear Hunting Hound!" "Welcome back to the pack!" Obelisk Green greeted as he summoned his teammates' fallen Machine-Type beasts.
"I think I know what's coming next!" Celina exclaimed in worry.
"You're right, Celina. We now have everything we need to bring out our greatest monster to take you down! We can fuse all our Hunting Hounds together without using Polymerization to summon a monster that will crush all that stand in its path! Stand in awe of the ground-shaking Chaos Ancient Gear Giant(ATK: 4500/DEF: 3000/LV: 10)!"
The sight of the mechanized titan terrified the civilians since they were forced to be reminded of the previous rampages that it caused and the devastation it caused. "It's that monster..." Saya was reminded of the terror that the colossal monster wrecked on the city in the first attack. She couldn't help but start to be overwhelmed by the traumatizing memories of the attacks that took those precious to her.
"And that's just the beginning of your worries! I activate both of my facedowns! Ancient Gear Reborn and Ancient Gear Sparkshot!" Obelisk Yellow raised his hand high as he revealed them.
"Thanks to my Ancient Gear Reborn, I can revive Ultimate Ancient Gear Hunting Hound and give it a 200 point boost." Ultimate Ancient Gear Hunting Hound roared as it returned from the graveyard.
Ultimate Ancient Gear Hunting Hound(ATK: 2800 = 3000/DEF: 2000/LV: 9)
"And Ancient Gear Spark Shot deals you halve of its attack points to you as damage! So 1500 points of pain are about to really bite!" Everyone braced themselves as the trap combo blasted them with 1500 points of damage.

YUYA LP: 4000 = 2500
"Chaos Ancient Gear Giant, annihilate Ruffian Railcar!" Chaos Giant blasted Allen's only monster.
"I'm done for!" Allen exclaimed in horror.
"Not if I can help it!" Saya declared as she used her facedown. "By using my Fairy Cheer Girl's last overlay unit, Fairy Rail will detour the damage, so it becomes zero and Fairy Cheer Girl gains those points!" Fairy Cheer Girl's wings glowed pink as the damage that would've struck Allen when his monster was destroyed was turned into life points.
Fairy Cheer Girl(ATK: 3000 = 5700/DEF: 1500/RK: 4/OU: 1 = 0)
"Oh, did you think that was it? Well, you're wrong! Chaos Ancient Gear Giant can attack all your monsters in a single turn! Next on its hit list, Lunalight Panther Dancer!"
"I send Performapal Inflater Tapir(ATK: 1000/DEF: 2000/LV: 6) to the graveyard! By doing so, it creates a barrier to protect us!"
A blue energy barrier blocked debris and the shockwave from the attack from hitting them, even though Celina's monster was decimated in the beam.
"That changes nothing." Obelisk Yellow declared. "Nothing can stand the might of Chaos Ancient Gear Giant." Obelisk Red agreed. "Even if her Fairy Cheer Girl is able to attack us..." Obelisk Green finished his teammates' declaration. "Our trap combo will diminish your life points before you even get to finish us off!"
"Soon, you'll be joining the rest of the Xyz Dimension..." Obelisk Red said as he brought out the victims he carded and showed them. His team did the same with the same malicious smiles. "As part of our prizes to the Professor."
Seeing the devastation around them made the memories of the previous raids unbearable for the civilians. They couldn't take it anymore. Children started to loudly cry, the adults held them in their embraces as they huddled together, knowing what else to do. Despite trying to stay strong, even the adults were starting to break. This was too much for them.
They started saying many things; dueling had brought nothing but sorrow for them, that it was the reason for their suffering, why Duel Academy came. They kept asking what they had done to deserve this.
Yuya's vision started to get blurry from hearing the words of the survivors. Their cries, their anger, their fear and despair. A strong heartbeat accompanied his blurred vision.
You Show Duel School - City - Fusion Dimension
A mug crashed into pieces as it fell from a tray that Zuzu carried. Currently, she was bringing drinks for the students. Immediately assuming Zuzu accidentally dropped it, Alexis opened a drawer and brought out a handkerchief and a plastic bag. However, Zuzu was already picking up the pieces.
"Zuzu, please. Don't pick up those pieces like that. You could cut yourself." Alexis reached for the girl's hands and inspected them to see if they had been cut. Seeing that they weren't, Alexis handed Zuzu the plastic bag, which the girl promptly put the broken mug and its pieces in.
"This was Mr. Sakaki's favorite. He told me that it resembled the one that he has back home in the Standard Dimension." Alexis told her. She then noticed that Zuzu seemed to space out as she stared at the broken mug while holding her left hand over her right.
"Zuzu? What's wrong?" Alexis asked when she saw Zuzu frown as her hand trembled. Alexis shook Zuzu's shoulders, but Zuzu didn't respond to the older girl's words of concern.
Zuzu stared down. "What is this uneasy feeling? It's so strong. Stronger than any similar feeling I have felt before." Cold sweat poured down the side of her face. With shaky fingers, she pressed a hand to her face, closing her eyes and feeling a torrent of sweat on her damp skin. The other clinched itself tightly, knuckles turning white. She fretted, feeling separation anxiety.
"Yuya...?"
Heartland City - Xyz Dimension
Yuya felt nauseous as it penetrated his skull and pounded into his brain as hard as it could. Pain seethed into each and every one of his muscles, bleeding through his body, gripping and crawling all over his skin. His vision darkened until he was left in pitch black darkness. There was nothing there but darkness. It was so dark. So cold. Yuya whimpered in his mind and inhaled a quivering breath. At the same time, Odd-Eyes and Dark Rebellion were glowing. However, slowly, the light became a black aura.
"Unforgivable..."
Yuya and Yuto gasped and clenched their heads tightly as they heard the distorted voice deep within them. Celina noticed this. Going up to Yuya, she held his shoulder in concern when Yuya's face distorted into one of pain.
"Yuya? What's wrong? Are you okay?" Celina asked while continuing to hold him. However, her mind was beginning to distort too as her view changed.
The three of them saw it. Their view of a ruined Heartland City was changed into a different ruined city. The condition was even worse than Heartland's, if that was even possible. The scene made it look like it truly was the end of the world. Destroyed buildings, raging fires, and people fleeing in terror.
"No matter what... you're all the same!"
Yuya's headache became worse as the voice spoke in his head again. It was cold as ice but was filled with burning rage and malice as if it were the flames of purgatory itself.
"No matter how much time passes... you humans always desire brutality and destruction...!"
The glow in Yuya's eyes grew stronger, as did the light coming from his and Yuto's respective dragons. Pitch black darkness oozed from his body until it slowly surrounded him.
"I cannot... will not... ALLOW THIS ANYMORE!"
Yuya became covered in the black shadow of a colossal unknown dragon. His personality, his attitude, his eyes were devoid of all his usual kindness. Only hatred and anger. Unbridled wrathful desire to crush those who opposed him.
Yuya began his turn. "It's my turn! Hah! I set the Pendulum Scale with Scale 1 Stargazer Magician(ATK: 1200/DEF: 2400/LV: 5/PS: 1) and Scale 8 Timegazer Magician(ATK: 1200/DEF: 600/LV: 3/PS: 8)! Now I can summon as many monsters between levels 2 and 7 at the same time! I Pendulum Summon! Performapal Nightmare Knight(ATK: 1700/DEF: 0/LV: 4), Performapal Salutiger(ATK: 1700/DEF: 500/LV: 4), and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon(ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/LV: 7/PS: 4)!
Now I overlay Performapals Nightmare Knight and Salutiger in order to build..." Yuya raised his hand to the sky as he commenced his summoning. "... the Overlay Network!" The two monsters then proceeded to enter the portal.
"Cloaked in shadows and relentless in its objective. I call upon the most dangerous of dragons! Now I Xyz Summon Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon(ATK: 2500/DEF: 2000/RK: 4/OU: 2)!"
Picking the spell card that was just drawn, Yuya continued his Awakened rampage. "I activate The Phantom Knights' Possession! My xyz monster can have level equal to another one of my monsters on my field!" Yuto, with the same eyes that Yuya now had, continued the effect. "And so just like Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon, Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon is now level 7, so now I have two monsters with the same level!"
"I overlay Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon and Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon in order to build the Overlay Network!" After the two dragons went into the portal, instead of the normal stream of light that busted out of the portal, a volcanic red stream of light burst it out.
"By joining two of the strongest dragons in the universe, I'll create a dragon that's all the rage!" Yuya and Yuto both said in harmonious rage, "I Xyz Summon, Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon(ATK: 3000/DEF: 2500/RK: 7/PS: 1/OU: 2)!"
A massive crimson dragon with dichromatic eyes and insect-like wing blades unleashed a roar that echoed throughout the battlefield as soon as it was summoned. Everyone who heard the sound stopped what they were doing as soon as they heard it.
Perceptra, accompanied by her Buster Brigadiers, stared in the direction of where the sound originated from the blazing battlefield. "The moment we've been waiting for all this time... is coming ever closer." Perceptra firmly thought with anticipation as a gust of wind blew her shoulder cape up and caused embers to float around her and her unit.
The new dragon Yuya had summoned hovered over him, making Celina feel uneasy. Her vision, once again, superimposed with another different but somewhat similar and oddly familiar scene. The red xyz dragon became colossal variant shrouded in darkness, hovering over the burning city. Celina closed her eyes and shook her head vigorously. Opening her eyes again, the scene once again became Yuya and his new dragon.
"What was that?" Celina unconsciously hugged herself as the dreadful feeling continued to be with her.
Yuya extended his hand in front of him before clenching it into a fist as he activated his new dragon's special ability. "I activate Raging Dragon's special ability! By using all of its overlay units, it destroys all of the cards on the field, And gains 200 attack points for each one!"
Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon crushed its two overlay units, one in each of its hands. Its body was then covered in purple-colored burning flames. Its wings extended, piercing through the ground. The xyz dragon then swung its body, destroying every card on the field. Since Obelisk Force's field had four and there were three on their fields, Raging Dragon got a 1400 point power-up.
"Your mechs are destroyed, and their demise and my friends' sacrifices fuel my Raging Dragon's strength!" Yuto declared.

"I can't believe it..." Obelisk Yellow commented with a stunned look on his face. "We lost everything..." Obelisk Green added with the same look of shock on his face. "Just like that..."
"It's over." Yuya told them.
The Obelisk Force smiled once again as soon as the shock of having the entire field cleared wore off. "No, it's not over yet." "You can attack and defeat one of us." "So the other two have a chance next turn - "
"There is no next turn!" Yuya and Yuto roared. "Because Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon can attack twice this turn! And because Nightmare Knight was sent from the field to the graveyard, Raging Dragon also gained another attack, which means I get three attacks!"
"What?! That can't be!" Obelisk Green exclaimed. "But it is, so you're all through!" Yuya angrily declared, causing Obelisk Force to gasp in horror.
The orbs on Raging Dragon's body glowed as the tips of its wings' blades started to melt the ground as the blades heated up and lightning surround them. Soon, the dragon's body was covered in flames. The inferno soon gathered into a blue circle of fire in front of its face. The blaze was so intense that it seemed to make the whole area a living hell.
"Now Odd-Eyes Raging Dragon, attack!" As Yuya commenced the Battle Phase, the blue flames of Raging Dragon blew in front of him, momentarily making him look like a cruel demon. Yuto and Yuya then both declared their attack. "Go! Inferno Fury Strike!"
The red dragon unleashed a blast of the hot burning flames right at Obelisk Force, who could only stand in horror as the flaming strike came closer and closer. They all screamed as the blast threw them back and defeated them all at the same time.

The Awakened Yuya panted as the Action Field disappeared. As soon as it did, he held his right eye with his right hand in pain. When he opened his eyes, they were back to their usual appearance. He then saw the defeated Obelisk Force, who had steam coming off of them. Needless to say, he was shocked. He turned to his friends and was greeted with the equally stunned look on their faces. But what disturbed him most was the fear in the eyes of the civilians. Fear that was directed at him.
They started calling things that he didn't want to hear. That he was scary. Terrifying.
Yuya looked at his hands and trembled. He realized it. The dark and horrible sensation that he was all too familiar with. He had lost control again. He had allowed himself to be overwhelmed by the mysterious darkness in him and brutally defeated his enemy. Just like what happened with Iggy, the previous Obelisk Forces, Officer 227, Crow, the Buster Brigadiers in the Synchro Dimension...
"I did it again, didn't I...?" Yuya fell to his knees. "What have I done...?"
Before any of his friends could react, an explosion changed their attention to the situation at hand. Allen and Saya ushered the civilians to keep moving. Allen looked at Yuya and Celina before he did so.
"Yuya, Celina, you two go help Shay and the others now!" Allen then proceeded to evacuate the civilians with Saya.
Celina helped Yuya stand. She understood the underlying message that Allen had just gave them. "With Yuya's recent display of violence, the civilians are too afraid right now of him. It would be better if he was helping the others, rather than scaring the people with just his presence." Yuya nodded, acknowledging the fact.
Returning to the Duel Sanctuary, the two Lancers were greeted with a horrible sight, leaving them speechless.
Destruction. That was the only word that came to their minds when they saw the scene before them. This was even worse than the Synchro Dimension's invasion. Yuya, Yuto, and Celina didn't want to believe what they were seeing. They kneeled as they took in the destruction with wide, horrified eyes. Not only was the Duel Sanctuary destroyed beyond recognition, burnt structural beams surrounded by wafting black smoke and the rubble remains, cries of battling duelists from both sides and the despair of the civilians echoed across the burning battlefield that was the city.
Celina covered her mouth. She wanted to puke. Even though she had seen the ruthless cruelty of Duel Academy in the Synchro Dimension, this was beyond comprehension.
Yuya's body couldn't stop trembling from seeing the war zone with his own eyes. Unfocused glowing red eyes cracked open, the owner's fuzzy brain unable to process anything anymore as the voice inside him got stronger A deep voice filled with wrath and resentment. Yuya's body tilted to his left, and his body followed closely behind. He felt his entire body go numb as if icy water was chilling him from all sides. Yuya felt his fear threaten to overwhelm his senses and desperately tried to remind himself of what he was fighting for.
"You claim that dueling is only for fun and to understand others, but you don't understand us at all! You decided what Duel Academy does is cruelty without trying to understand us first! You two claim that dueling for fun is the right thing, as if it would solve everything. It's nothing but your own self-satisfaction!"
Aster's words then rang out again in a flashback. His eyes glowed deeper as his headache became stronger, causing him to almost squirm in pain.
Yuya covered his face as the frightened woes from the civilians attacked him like a plague and forced him to face the ground. He wasn't able to do anything now but doubt himself.
"No... I can't... I can't do it..." He started to think with a dejected face. "There's no way... I can make people smile... not after everything that has happened..."
Yuya's breathing got heavier as he continued to doubt himself, making Celina worry about him even more. "If I don't understand them... how can I make everybody smile?!"
Celina's vision became blurry. The next thing she knew, she wasn't with Yuya anymore. Instead, she was with a young, silver-haired man who was lying in what appeared to be a hospital bed. He opened his eyes as her voice, which strangely didn't sound like hers, said with worry, "Hey Z•••, how long are you going to do these duels? These kinds of duels are not the kind that you are striving for." She asked, her hands gripping the sheets tightly.
Her eyes felt like tears were about to fall as she kept staring at the man. "Dueling is supposed to be about having fun and smiling, isn't it? It's not a tool to be used to inflict pain on others. But others are getting hurt... by you. It's not like you at all."
The young man frowned and clicked his tongue, turning his face from her. "... Shut up. If that's what you believe, then get lost. I need to do it like this... even if it's the end of me."
Celina's hold tightened on Yuya, but the boy didn't seem to notice. Looking at the battlefield before them, Celina could make only one assessment from the situation. "This isn't a battle. This is a one-sided annihilation. Even if we were to help, it would still be a matter of time before we fell. But if we do nothing, we'll be destroyed! We lose either way! What can we do?!"
"Is this... the end?" Celina uttered as her hope waned.
