Chapter 32: The Field

Prime and his clones were working on fixing the damage the Horde had left on Etheria.

Sam and the others added any help they could while they took the time to rest after everything that happened with Sigma, the chips, etc.

Adora was in her room at Bright moon castle.

Luke and Leia had just left to head to the temple to help the clones build a communications device for Etheria and also help in building a spaceport.

Adora stared at the ceiling, enjoying the peace and quiet.

Adora asked with a small sigh, "Catra? What are you up to?"

The door opened, and Adora turned her head.

And what she saw made her blush like a tomato.

Catra asked softly, "so, now that you have magic, how do you plan to use it to help the Rebels?"

Adora replied, "well, I'm gonna do what I did for Etheria. Bring back the plant life that they've destroyed. Restore the planets to their former glory."

"Yeah, from what Sam has told us the Empire has been damaging planets", Catra said softly.

Adora said, "and that's why almost everyone on Etheria is offering to help the rebel alliance. After everything Sam and his family and friends have done for us, they deserve our help."

"Hopefully we can defeat the Empire and we all can live in peace", Catra said as she laid her head on Adora's shoulder.

Adora kissed the top of Catra's head and said, "I couldn't agree more."

The two were silent for a few moments before Adora said, "I heard that Scorpia moved in with Perfuma."

Catra said, "me too. I think it's good to have those who got chipped to have someone to comfort them. Lord knows I needed it, even if I didn't want it at first."

"I also heard Prime and Hordak along with the clones are doing some changes to the Fright Zone", Catra said.

Adora said, "good. It'd be nice if the Fright Zone were no longer a place to be afraid."

Catra asked softly, "Adora is something on your mind?"

"Since I don't know what my last name is…. I am going to ask Sam….", Adora asked, a bit nervous.

Catra asked softly, "what?"

Adora said, "I was thinking of asking Sam if I could use the Skywalker name as my own…."

Catra's eyes went wide for a second.

Catra asked softly with a smile on her face, "is it because of how close you are to Luke and Leia?"

Adora nodded and said, "those kids mean so much to me. After spending so much time with them, I consider them my family, since I never really knew my own."

"Don't give up Adora, you'll find your family one day, and I will be there to help you", Catra said as she held Adora's hand in her own.

Adora smiled and said, "thanks. I couldn't imagine doing anything without you now, Catra."

Catra asked, "so, what should we do now?"

"I had offered to help the princesses and the Jedi in building statues of Mara and Antauri along with the Jedi of Etheria to honor their memories", Adora said as she sat up.

Catra sat up and said, "they deserve it, after helping you destroy Sigma for good, and ending this war once and for all."

"Well, let's go, I also promised to hang out with Luke and Leia", Adora said with a smile.

"I'll go with you too, I have taken a liking to those kids as well", Catra said with a smile.

The two packed up their blanket, and soon made their way to the nearly rebuilt Bright Moon castle.

Thankfully, Glimmer was no longer arrogant from when she first became the Queen.

As Adora and Catra entered the castle, the place was busy as it could be, with people repairing various things and putting new technology in areas

"Everything looks much more amazing", Micah said with a smile.

Glimmer asked her father, "are you sure you're ready Dad?"

Micah replied, "sweety, I only wish to help our people, and I'll do everything I can to do it well. And besides, with you representing our people in this civil war on other planets, I'm needed here more than ever."

"You're right", Glimmer said as she hugged her father.

"Hello", Adora said as she and Catra walked into the room.

Catra asked, "King Micah?"

Micah said, "ah! Hello girls. It's wonderful to see you both. As you can see, we've been working on repairing the castle."

"I see the castle is getting an upgrade", Adora said with a smile on her face.

Micha said, "indeed."

Glimmer added, "with Primes help, we're able to advance our technology even further."

"That's good news", Catra said with a smile.

Adora asked, "Glimmer how come you are not wearing the crown anymore?"

Glimmer replied, "I stepped down."

Adora and Catra exclaimed, "what?!"

Glimmer said, "I didn't like how arrogant I became when I was queen. It nearly cost me everything I cared about. So until I'm ready, my father will lead our people while I'm representing Etheria in the war."

Asora asked, "you're going to become the senator for Etheria?"

"Yes", Glimmer said with a smile.

Catra said, "well, they couldn't have chosen a better senator."

Glimmer replied, "thank you. And of course, I can't go anywhere without my bodyguards."

Adora asked, "who are your bodyguards?"

Glimmer said, "well Bow, of course. And two more very important people."

Catra asked, "which are?"

"You two", Glimmer said with a smile on her face.

Catra and Adora both gave very surprised looks upon hearing THAT.

Adora and Catra both said, "us?!'

"Yes,you two are part of the Best Friends squad right? And we best friends must always stick together", Glimmer said with a smile.

Adora and Catra couldn't help but give big bright smiles when hearing that from Glimmer.

Adora and Catra then went over to hug Glimmer.

Glimmer returned the hug.

Micah started to cry at the sight.

"Aww, Dad, come on", Glimmer said as she chuckled.

Micah said, "I can't help it! You three just remind me so much of me and my friends when I was your age!"

Adora asked, "speaking of which, where ate Luke and Leia?"

Glimmer replied, "oh, they and Bow are at the temple right now."

"Which means another long walk", Catra said with a groan.

Adora grinned and said, "well, I could always carry you there…."

Catra's face went red after hearing that.

The others chuckled, but Adora was caught off guard as Catra jumped into her arms!

"Well, let's go", Catra purred.

"Or I could call Swift Wind", Adora said as she too felt tired.

Catra said, "aw, you're no fun. You said you'd carry me!"

"It was just a joke", Adora said.

The others laughed at the sight.

Catra grumbled as she got out of Adora's arms and they both climbed onto Swift Wind.

Swift Wind then started to fly to the Jedi Temple.

"I just hope Sam's droid doesn't try to bite my tail again", Catra said with a frown on her face.

Adora said, "oh, I'm sure Hamill won't."

Five minutes later….

Catra was glaring at Hamill as he chewed on her tail again.

"Hamill, stop that this instant", Luke shouted as he went over to Catra.

Luke had to pry open the droid's jaws so Catra could pull her tail away and closer to herself.

Luke held Hamill close to him to prevent him from escaping.

He said, "I'm terribly sorry about that Catra. For some reason Hamill just likes to bite things. I think it's some sort of glitch in his programming."

"Be sure to remind your uncle to fix that droid's programming", Catra said as she held her tail.

Adora couldn't help but snicker with Leia as Catra held her tail.

Adora then turned her gaze to Luke and Leia. She needed to tell them what she was going to ask their uncle.

Adora asked softly, "Luke, Leia, do you know where Sam is?"

Leia answered, "he's off with Uncle Hordak right now. Why?"

Adora sighed as she then held the twins' hands in her own.

"Ever since you and your uncle crashed onto Etheria, you all have become family to me, so much that you two can call me mom whenever you want to", Adora said with a soft smile.

The twins smiled at Adora as she said, "which is why…. I'm going to ask Sam if I may share the family name."

The twins had a shocked look on their faces and they slowly started to smile with tears in their eyes.

They wrapped her up in a warm embrace, which made Adora tear up as well….
