MacKenzie Plantation

Atlanta GA 1865

Sarah and Harmon continued their walk to her home, once they reached the entrance, Sarah stoped. She looked deep into Harmon's eyes "When might I see you again?"

"Is tomorrow too soon?"

"No that's perfect."

"I pack us a picnic lunch and take you down by the lake."

"Oh Harmon it sounds wonderful, come by around mid-day. Father will be leaving early for Savannah, he will not return until mid week."

"I will see you than my Sarah."

She looked at him with longing in her eyes. He reached for her hand, guiding her to him. Placing a sweet yet loving kiss on her lips. After they parted she stood looking into his piercing blue eyes. He raised his white gloved hand to her cheek, she placed her hand on his. Neither one wanting to leave the other one. Knowing she needed to make her way inside; she backed away.

"I will see you tomorrow."

"Unless you Desire to see me later?"

"I do; however I can not. Father would never allow me to leave after dark."

"I see; than we shall meet mid-day just like we planned."

"Yes mid-day. Come to the road and I will be there. Till than my..."

"Love?"

"Is it too soon to say that to you?"

"I am no expert on feelings. I do know what I felt when I first saw you. My heart felt alive for the first time."

"As did mine."

He kissed her hand, than released her so she could walk to her house. Turning away she made her way up to the grand house. Harmon watched to make sure she arrived as he stared to turn away, he was stopped by man a tall man of color.

"Sir; you best be leaving before Mr MacKenzie see's you here."

"I see, why is that Sir?"

"Mr MacKenzie ain't got no use for the Union. Me and my wife however, well Sir we are grateful to ya'll."

"Thank you Sir, I am Lt Rabb by the way, and you are?"

"Sturgis Turner, me and my wife Bobbie we work here for Mr MacKenzie."

"Does Mr MacKenzie treat you both okay."

"He treats us well enough, Lady Sarah on the other hand, well she makes sure we are treated good. She's a kind hearted woman. Any man should be honored to be in her company."

"I am finding out that she's just as beautiful on the inside as the outside."

"Yes Sir, thats correct."

"Sturgis Turner get you male ass home right now."

"That would be the wife calling for me. I'd best take my leave now. Good day to you Lt, and heed my warning about Mr MacKenzie."

"Yes Sir; Mr Turner I will." Both men walked away from each other. One heading home and the other heading back to camp. In the meantime Sarah had walked back in her home. She had arrived home just in time for dinner.

When she entered the grand dinning room, she wasn't expecting to see the other man sitting next to her father. She eyed him unsure what to make of him. He was good looking enough in his way. But wasn't the type of gentleman she prefers. Her mind kept going back to Lt Rabb.

"Well Sarah take a seat."

"Yes Father."

"Make sure you greet our honored guest before you take your seat, he has traveled far to make your acquaintance."

Mr Brumby stood and approached Sarah, she watched him with baited breath as he made his way towards her. He bowed to her, and she curtsied to him. She remained in position while he walked around her. His looks made her nervous, she started to get a uneasy feeling in her stomach. Something about him didn't settle well with her.

He walked around to her back land leaned down to her ear, whispering into it. "I will bed you before this week is over, and I will take much pleasure in it. When I am done you will be mine in every way."

Standing upright again, he glanced at Mr MacKenzie. "Your daughter is a very lovely woman. I am honored you wish us to marry."

Hearing these words spoken troubled her. She didn't wish to marry this man, something deep within her screamed "NO" trying to remain the true Southern Woman she has been brought up to be, she raised up and took her seat.

She felt her pulse racing. How could her father sell her? After all she's his own daughter not one of his workers ( in her mind she would never refer to them as slaves ) Keeping her head down and trying her best to block out the conversation between her father and Mr Brumby , she started to try and formulate a plan.

Present Day

Harm and Mac's Apartment

North of Union Station

Mac looked up from her place on the sofa when she heard the door open. Placing her book on the table next to sofa she stood and headed over to greet Harm. When she reached him, he took her in arms and placed a sweet loving his on her lips, than he bent down to her exposed baby bump placing a kiss on his children.

She watched him; loving being able to see his tender loving side. The side that he only showed her. He stood back up taking her in his arms. "God I missed you today."

"We missed you too, we like having you here with us. It tends to get lonely during the day."

"Even with your book to keep you company?"

"My book doesn't rub my aching shoulders or massage my swollen feet. Oh and it doesn't satisfy my womanly needs either. Only my very loving husband can do that; after all this is his responsibility."

Harm's eyes got very wide, "My responsibility?"

"Yes Captain; after all you and your Tomcat are how I ended up like this." She said as she patted her expanding tummy.

Harm flashed her his best Flyboy grin. "Captain that's a very pretty smile you have, and I'm sure it usually..."

Before she could continue, Harm scooped her up and took off with her towards their bedroom. "Just what do you think your doing?"

"Satisfying your womanly needs! This way later on you can fill me in on your book.." He said wiggling his eye brows...
