Chapter 34: Couples of Etheria

And what of the other couples on Etheria? Well, let's take a look….

"Sea Hawk, that's the fifth boat you've lit on fire", Mermista said with a groan.

Sea Hawk replied, "sorry! Sorry! I can't help it! I'm still trying to figure this out!"

"Well it's a good thing the boat was nowhere near the statue when it lit on fire, it took all day to build it", Mermista said as she sighed.

Sea Hawk said, "I just don't get it! What am I doing wrong?!"

"Don't blame yourself, Sea Hawk, I'm sure one day you'll learn how to control it", Mermista said with a small smile on her face as she tried to cheer up Sea Hawk.

"Well I hope you are right dearest", Sea Hawk said with a smile.

"It makes me wonder, that since we are going to help the Rebel alliance, most of the planets might not have boats for you to light on fire", Mermista said with a chuckle.

Sea Hawk just blushed.

With Ahsoka and Leon.

"Ahsoka, where is your son? I want to meet my nephew", Ashla said with a smile.

"Don't worry, Bane is bringing him", Leon said with a chuckle.

"Ani really loves his uncle Bane", Ahsoka said with a smile on her face.

That's when Bane walked in with Ani on his shoulders, Bane's hat sitting atop his head.

Ashla's eyes went wide.

"AWWWW! He looks so cute", Ashla squealed.

"Ashla dear, please calm down,take deep breaths", Prime said as he held his wife by the shoulders.

Ashla started taking quick deep breaths.

Prime said, "slower."

She took slower breaths.

Prime asked, "are you alright?"

Ashla replied, "I think so."

Prime said, "look at me."

Ashla said, "huh?"

Ashla repeated, "look at me."

Ashla looked at Prime and said, "you're so cute."

Prime blushed.

Leon said with a chuckle, "had a fun day with your uncle Bane, Ani?"

Ani smiled and said, "yep! It was great! Oh, who are these people?"

Bane then handed Ani to Leon.

"Uncle Bane, wait, your hat", Ani said as he handed Bane his cowboy hat.

Bane put it on and said, "thanks kid."

Leon and Ahsoka then walked over to Ashla and Prime.

Ani asked, a bit confused, "Mom, who is this woman, why does she look like you?"

Ahsoka said, "Ani, this is your Aunty Ashla and Uncle Prime."

Ani asked, "I have an aunt and uncle mom?"

"You do my son", Leon said with a smile on his face.

"Now say hi to them", Ahsoka said with a gentle smile on her face.

Ani waves and says, "hello. You look exactly like my mommy and Uncle Hordak."

Ashla smiled as she hugged her nephew.

Ani hugged right back with a warm smile on his face.

"You look so cute Ani", Ashla said with a squeal as she hugged her nephew.

Ani blushed a bit.

"Say hello to your uncle Horde Prime", Ashla said with a gentle smile on her face.

Ani once again waved and said, "hello. Why do you look like Uncle Hordak?"

Prime smiled as he placed a hand on Ani's shoulder.

Prime said, "your Uncle Hordak and I are brothers, of sorts."

"We'll leave you here with your aunt and uncle, Ani", Ahsoka said.

"We're going to go outside for a while", Leon said as he pats Ani's head.

As the parents walked outside, their thoughts drifted to the moment they reunited after Order 66….

….

11 years ago, on Zeffo

Ahsoka was carrying Ani in her arms as she ran as fast as she could, as they were being chased by stormtroopers.

"Momma, I'm scared", Ani cried.

Ahsoka said, "it'll be okay sweetie. Mommy won't let them hurt you."

"There they are, don't let them get away", one of the Stormtroopers shouted.

One of the blasts hit Ahsoka in the shoulder, both she and Ani fell to the floor.

"Ani", Ahsoka cried out as she lost her grip on her son.

"Surround them", one of the Stormtroopers said.

"Don't you touch my baby", Ahsoka screamed in fear and anger.

As a trooper tried to grab Ani, Ahsoka threw her hand forward and forced them back!

Just as one of the troopers yelled, "Jedi", they all heard a blade ignite behind them.

Ahsoka quickly ignited her lightsabers, fearing it was an inquisitor.

But to her shock it was none other than….

…. Leon!

Leon was glaring at the stormtroopers as he gripped his saber tightly.

He said, "let her go, you filth!"

"Fire on the Jedi!"

Leon quickly started to dodge the blasts as he slashed through the Stormtroopers.

Ahsoka then ran over to Ani and she slashed at the stormtrooper who tried to hurt her child.

"Hide Ani, and stay out of sight", Ahsoka said softly to her son.

Ani nodded his head as he ran to hide.

A stormtrooper said, "what the-", before he was shot in the head.

"Don't you mess with my friend", Cad Bane said with his blasters in hand.

A trooper pointed their blaster at Bane, when they were grabbed in a choke hold by Wrecker, who growled, "child killers make me mad!"

He broke the trooper's neck as Crosshair began shooting from the ceiling of a nearby building!

Hunter quickly ran through the troopers as he blasted at them and slashed at them with his knife.

Two detonators were thrown at the Stormtroopers.

"Echo! Omega! Now", Tech shouted.

Omega and Echo grabbed Ani and got him to safety as the detonators blew the stormtroopers to kingdom come!

Omega asked softly, "are you okay little one?"

Ani nodded his head.

Omega then let Ani down and he ran to his mother.

Ahsoka then hugs her son close to her.

Ahsoka said, "it's okay sweetie. It's okay…."

Ahsoka hugged her son close as she stood up, and now that the fighting was done, she finally saw her husband's face again after three long years apart.

"Ahsoka", Leon said softly.

"Leon", Ahsoka said softly.

Ahsoka then ran to her husband and hugged him with tears in her eyes.

Leon returned the hug and he had tears in his eyes as well.

Leon said, "I thought I'd never see you again."

Ahsoka said, "I kept praying that you would come back to me."

Leon's gaze was drawn to their son, who Ahsoka held while the toddler stared right at him.

"Ahsoka, is that….", Leon asked.

"Yes this is our son Anakin, but I call him Ani for short", Ahsoka said with a soft tone, "Ani, this here is your father", Ahsoka said to her son with a smile on her face.

Ani looked at his father with wide eyes of excitement and adoption, as he finally met his father.

"Hi…. Daddy", Ani said with a smile on his face.

Leon started to tear up as Ahsoka handed him their son, and he said, "hello…. Ani."

Ani giggled as he hugged his father.

Ahsoka and Leon both started to cry tears of joy.

As did the others.

Wrecker nearly squeezed the life outta Tech and Echo as he hugged them.

"Leon…. Where were you all these years? I thought you had died", Ahsoka sobbed.

Leon cried, "as soon as Order 66 occurred, I set off to find you. Bane, the Bad Batch and a few of my remaining clones offered whatever help they could. I never stopped looking for you, but it was almost impossible to find you."

"I had to hide in a few outer rim planets in order to be safe from the empire and to also protect our son", Ahsoka said as tears fell down her face.

Leon used his remaining hand to touch her cheek and said, "I always knew you would take care of our son. I never doubted you for a parsec. I'm just happy to find you again."

Crosshair asked as he crossed his arms, "how did you two get in trouble that fast?"

"I was on a mission for the Rebels", Ahsoka said.

Hunter asked, "you're working with the rebels?"

Ahsoka said, "yeah. I'm usually working with a group who run a ship called the Ghost. One of them was Caleb Dune."

Wrecker said, "that little tyke? Damn, we haven't seen him since…. Well, ya know…."

Ahsoka asked, "why is Cad Bane with you?"

Bane replied, "I helped your husband escape from the Empire when the Clone Wars ended. Stuck around to help him out."

"It's true Ahsoka, Bane is no longer that cruel bounty hunter you knew from the clone wars"; Leon said.

Omega asked, "so, what do we do now?"

Leon said, "we all get back to the ship. Together."

Ahsoka nodded at her husband as the group began sneaking their way to Leon's ship….

Ani was still in his father's arms.

"Leon, I wanted to ask you….", Ahsoka asked softly.

Leon asked softly as Ani was sleeping and had his head on Leon's shoulder, "what is it?"

Ahsoka asked, "would you and your friends like to join…. The Rebels?"

Leon said, "honey, wherever you go, I go."

Echo said, "that goes for us too."

Leon asked, "what do you think, Bane?"

Bane said, "ah, what the Hell. I've already gone this far."

"Well, I'll take you to Bail Organa", Ahsoka said softly.

Leon said, "ah, it'll be nice to see a friendly face after so long…."

….

Ahsoka and Leon found themselves holding hands and staring at the statue of Bastilla Shan. Revan's wife and one who came back from the dark side for the man she loved.

"Let's spend some time to ourselves, besides, my sister and her husband can look after Ani", Ahsoka said with a smile.

Leon replied, "honey, that sounds great. Adora and Catra told me about all the beautiful fields on the planet."

The two began to walk off to the field….

….

Spinerella and Netossa watched as Perfuma helped in building the garden for the statue.

Perfuma asked, "which flowers are your favorites?"

Scorpia said, "I love roses."

Netossa said, "lily's."

Spinerrella said, "carnations."

"Okay, I'll be sure to add them", Perfuma said with a smile.

"The Garden is what was missing all along, honey", Netossa said to her wife.

Spinerrella replied, "oh, you're right. And when you're right, you're right. And you? You're always right."

Netossa chuckled as she held her wife's hand.

Prime was holding Ani in his arms.

"Ouch", Prime said as Ani tugged at one of the cables on his head.

"Sorry", Ani said quickly.

Prime said, "it's alright. I must do something about these cables, or they'll just keep being a nuisance."

"Don't say that sweety, they look good on you", Ashla said softly.

Ashla then noticed on Ani's belt was a lightsaber.

She asked, "Ani? How long have you been training with the type of weapons your parents use?"

"My mother gave it to me when I was 5 years old, both she and father have been training me to become a Jedi", Ani said with a smile.

Prime asked, "really? Since you were 5?"

Ani explained, "my parents said they want me to be prepared in case I'm in danger. My mom always told me that the Jedi were always trained from a very young age."

Ashla and Prime glanced at one another, not entirely sure how to feel about that.

"Aunt, Uncle, is something wrong? I can sense it", Ani asked.

Ashla asked, a bit shocked, "you can do that too, Ani?"

Ani nodded and said, "I've been training in the force for a very long time. I can sense people's emotions almost all the time."

"That's very impressive, Ani", Prime said with a soft smile.

"I really do want to make my mother and father proud, I want to become a strong Jedi like my father", Ani said with a smile.

Ashla asked, "why like your father? What about your mother?"

"My mother…. Doesn't consider herself a Jedi", Ani said with a small frown.

Prime asked, "and why is that?"

Ani replied, "well, she never finished her training as a Jedi. She was never made a knight like dad or uncle Sam was."

Ashla asked, "but why?"

The three decided to sit down in a field.

Ani sighed softly.

"My mother had left the Jedi order during the 3rd year of the clone wars, my father left with her as well", Ani said with a small frown.

Prime asked, "but why?"

Ani replied, "well, because mom was pregnant with me. And back then, Jedi weren't allowed to have families."

"Ahsoka did say that the Jedi back then didn't allow relationships", Ashla said.

"And also she left…. Because she was framed for a crime she didn't commit", Ani said with a frown.

Ashla asked, "and what was the crime?"

Ani replied, "an old friend of theirs, named Barriss Offee, tried to frame my mom for bombing the Jedi temple and killing a witness. So she could be with my father, and to prove that the Jedi shouldn't be protectors of the republic."

Ashla and Prime were shocked at this.

"My mother had to go on the run to prove her innocence, only my father, uncle Sam and Anakin were the only ones who believed that she wasn't the one behind the bombing", Ani said with a frown.

Ashla and Prime both gave Ani a hug after learning all of this shocking information.

"After it was revealed that Barriss was the one behind the bombing, the council offered my mother back into the order but as a Jedi knight…. But they didn't apologize for their actions, they said what had happened was a great trial of the force", Ani said with a frown and a bit of anger.

Ashla yelled, "that's utter-"

Prime covered his wife's mouth and said, "that is inexcusable."

Ani sighed and said, "I know…. It's why my mother did not rejoin the order…. What she had gone through caused her to lose faith and become disillusioned with the Jedi order."

Prime and Ashla gave knowing looks, seeing exactly why Ahsoka wouldn't rejoin the order after something like that.

"My mother did always tell me that even though her friend Barriss was wrong in bombing the temple, she was right about the Jedi and the Republic", Ani said.

Ashla asked softly, "what do you mean?"

Ani said, "the Jedi order fought for good, but they had many many flaws in their code and ideology. The Jedi were too involved with politics and they no longer followed the will of the force, the Republic was corrupted due to Palpatine."

"I feel so bad for my sister", Ashla said with a sad look on her face.

"My mother has told me when the Empire is dealt with, she and the others will make sure the new Jedi order does not repeat the same mistakes", Ani said with a small smile.

Prime said, "a wise path for them to tread. I am confident in their ability to do this."

Ani smiled.

"Ani, when you said you felt our emotions earlier…. The reason why we felt like that is that we were unsure if it was unwise of your parents to train you at a young age", Ashla said with a frown.

Ani asked, "and what do you think now?"

Ashla and Prime smiled.

"Well, now we think it was the right choice for them to train you", Ashla said as she held her nephew's hand.

Ani gave a very bright smile as he looked upon his aunt and uncle.

Prime side, "indeed", as he held their other hand.

"I guess we better go find where your mother and father are", Ashla said.

"I hope Mom doesn't get bothered that I told you all of this", Ani said with a sigh.

Prime said, "oh, I'm sure she won't."

Ashla said, "and if she does, we'll cover you."

"Thank you", Ani said as he hugged them.

Ashla and Prime hugged back with very warm expressions.
