Chapter 39: The Rebellion Strikes Back!
The rebels had just been able to free various other planets including Kamino and Naboo.
She-Ra was on Mandalore with Obi Wan, Entrapta and Perfuma.
"For the Honor of the…. Jedi Order", She-Ra shouted as she stabbed her sword onto the ground.
The desert of Mandalore was slowly starting to change….
The landscape was restored to its former glory. Not just from what the Empire did to it, but from the countless wars that had been waged upon this planet.
Perfuma used her powers to help various plants grow.
"Now this is more like it", Perfuma said with a giggle.
Bo Katan and the other Mandalorians were amazed to see what was happening to the planet.
It was as if all of the wars raged upon it had never occurred.
With their planet restored and under their control, all that was left was to find a leader to unite them all.
Obi Wan and Entrapta along with Hordak Jr were now in the city of Sundari.
"Woah, this looks so amazing", Entrapta said with a squeal.
Hordak Jr said, "it's amazing what so many people working together can help fix."
Entrapta asked softly as she held his hand, "Obi Wan, are you okay?"
Obi Wan replied, "it's just so surreal. To see all of this. I…. I just wish Satine were here to see this."
"Obi Wan…. I know it's weird for me to say this…. But you need to let go of Satine…. She wouldn't want you to be sad…. She would want you to be happy", Entratpa said as she tried to comfort Obi Wan.
Obi Wan replied, "I'm just worried that…. If I allow myself to fall in love again…. I'll only get them hurt."
"Sam once told me this…. If you feel that way for someone you truly love…. Listen to your heart", Entrapta said softly.
Obi Wan looked deep in thoughts over these words Entrapta relayed.
Listen to your heart.
Obi Wan then made his choice….
Obi Wan slowly pulled Entrapta into his arms.
"Obi….", Entrapta said before Obi Wan kissed her on the lips.
Entrapta's eyes went wide for moment, before she closed them and wrapped her arms around Obi Wan.
The kiss lasted for a few moments. But to them, it felt like hours.
The two then broke apart.
"Obi Wan", Entrapta asked as she blushed.
Obi Wan smiled softly.
He said, "you did say to follow my heart…."
"I love you, Obi Wan", Entrapta said with a smile and with tears in her eyes.
"I love you too, Entratpa", Obi Wan smiled softly.
Hordak Jr then hugged the couple.
He said, "this is one of the happiest days of my life!"
Obi Wan and Entrapta chuckled as they hugged Hordak Jr back.
"Wait till the others hear this", Entrapta said with a smile on her face.
"We can tell them after we have stopped the Empire", Obi Wan said.
"You're right, because today's the day….", Entrapta said.
Obi Wan added, "the day we finally invade Coruscant."
Hordak Jr said, "with all of our allies by our side."
….
Coruscant
Luke and Leia were in their room, they still had bandages on their arms and backs.
They have not spoken with their father since…. The accident.
At least, that's what their father called it.
The twins still held out hope that they would soon be free from the clutches of their father….
Barriss has been there to comfort them.
"Luke, Leia do not give up hope", a voice said.
Luke and Leia knew that voice.
The twins said, but they did not see him, "Antauri?"
"Yes. I have seen what you have gone through. I know it is hard to stay hopeful, but do not despair. You will soon be in good hands."
Leia called out, "Antauri? Antauri!"
"Could Antauri mean that….", Luke asked, before an alarm started sound throughout the palace.
Luke and Leia said, "Uncle Sam!"
….
Vader stormed into the command center of the palace and yelled, "what the Hell is the alarm sounding for?!"
Piett looked a bit scared and nervous.
"Lord Vader…. Look outside", Piett said, scared.
Vader turned to look outside the window….
…. And entering Coruscant's atmosphere were countless ships from dozens of planets.
Mandalorian, Kaminoan, old Republic Cruisers, and leading the charge were the Ebon Hawk, the Ghost, the Millennium Falcon, the Mantis, Mara's ship, and the Silver Blade!
Vader growled, "Skywalker…."
Piett asked, "your orders, my lord?"
Vader yelled, "I want every ship wiped out! Blown out of the sky! Take no prisoners!"
"Yes my lord, we'll send every fleet we have", Piett said as he ran out of the room.
Two officers walked into the room.
"You two, take my children somewhere safe", Vader said with anger.
The troopers looked at one another and said, "yes Lord Vader."
But as one of them checked the cameras in the twins room, they made a shocking discovery. The twins were gone!"
"Uh oh", the trooper gulped.
Vader asked a bit angry, "what is it?"
The other trooper said, "t-the twins are gone."
Vader was silent for a moment...
Vader roared in anger, "WHAT! WHAT DO YOU MEAN THEY ARE GONE!"
The first trooper said, "s-someone's run off with them! We don't know where they are!"
Vader growled, "but who could have…. BARRISS! Seal the palace! Make sure she and the twins don't escape!"
Vader stormed out of the room to find the twins and Barriss before they could get the chance to flee!
….
In the Ebon Hawk.
"Here come another Tie fighter", Sam shouted as he steered the ship.
Hordak shouted, "everyone watch out!"
The Ebon Hawk barely missed being hit by another tie fighter.
"I'll shoot it down", Hordak shouted as he blasted the tie fighter which caused it to explode.
Sam yelled, "whoo! That's my man!"
Hordak blushed.
Hera asked over the comlink, "so now what's the plan?"
"Me and Hordak along with a few of the Jedi and Princesses will go inside the Imperial Palace and try to rescue Luke and Leia", Sam said as he steered the Ebon Hawk.
"I'm going with you", Ahsoka said.
"I'm going as well", Leon said as he grabbed his wife's hand.
Sam said, "we need all the help we can get. So the more the merrier."
Hordak said, "we're making our approach to the Jedi Temple."
"Go rescue Luke and Leia", Adora said over the comlink. She was in Mara's ship with Catra, Bow and Glimmer.
Entrapta asked over the comlink, "what are you all going to do?"
"We're going to take out the imperial navy", Adora said as she lifted her hand in the air and the sword appeared.
"For the Honor of the Jedi Order", Adora shouted.
In a flash of light, She-Ra stood there with a steely gaze.
She said, "let's get this party started."
….
Imperial Palace.
Barriss used her lightsaber to block the shots of the stormtroopers.
Luke and Leia then slashed at the stormtroopers chest's and they were killed.
"Come on, it won't be long until father finds out", Luke shouted in fear.
The three were running through the hallways.
As they rounded a corner, they saw a large group of troopers guarding the main doors to the temple.
"Oh damn it, they are blocking the entrance", Leia whispered.
Luke whispered, "is there another way out?"
"There is…. But let's hope it is not guarded by troopers as well", Barriss whispered.
The trio ran off, hoping to make their escape as fast as they could to finally be free of Vader!
"You two will not escape from me", Vader roared through the force.
"It's him", Luke and Leia shouted in fear, knowing their father will use the force to track them down.
Barriss yelled, "run!"
And with that, the group ran as fast as they could towards the hangar built into the temple, in hopes of escape.
Barriss then stood in front of the twins as in front of them were…. Stormtroopers.
One trooper yelled, "hand over the children!"
Barriss ignited her saber and growled out, "if you want them, come and get them!"
The stormtroopers started to shoot at the three.
Luke and Leia activated their lightsabers as well as they deflected the shots.
Barriss was shot in the shoulder.
"Barriss", Luke shouted.
"There's too many of them", Leia shouted.
"If you won't hand them over, we'll take them by force", one trooper said.
Then a voice broke through the air.
"DON'T YOU DARE TOUCH MY LITTLE ANGELS!"
Luke and Leia gasped in shock as they saw who it was.
Sam and Hordak practically flew through the air as they landed in front of them.
They began deflecting the bolts back at the troopers with glares of pure hatred.
Sam and Hordak then sliced the stormtroopers in half.
"This is what you get for messing with our family", Hordak shouted as he crushed a trooper's helmet with the force.
Sam began throwing several troopers against the ceiling over and over again as he yelled in pure rage.
"I say that's enough, man", Han said as he and Chewie shot a few stormtroopers.
Entrapta wrapped up several troopers and smashed them into the wall as Obi Wan used a Jedi mind trick to tell the troopers, "you will shoot your comrades."
"We will shoot our comrades", the troopers said.
The troopers then started to shoot at each other, and soon enough they were all dead.
"Well, that's all of them", Entrapta said with a small smile.
Luke and Leia said as they slowly walked over to them, "Uncle Sam? Uncle Hordak?"
In a second, both Luke and Leia were in a bear crushing hug by their uncle's.
"My little angels…. Oh how I missed you so much", Sam sobbed as he kissed Luke's forehead various times.
Hordak hugged Leia to his chest and said, "thank the force! We were so terrified when you were taken."
Luke and Leia hugged their uncle's in pure relief at being in their arms again.
Sam and Hordak then saw the bandages on their arms and backs.
Sam said, "t-those bandages. Your father's actions, I'm guessing?"
"Yes…. He was so mad at us…. He lost control of his anger…. And we got hurt", Leia said with fear.
Sam and Hordak got angry looks on their faces.
Hordak growled, "his madness ends today."
Sam added, "as does his Empire."
Leia then went over to hug Han.
"Leia…. I'm so glad you're okay", Han said as he hugged Leia.
Leia said, "I knew you'd all come to save us."
Luminara said, "it was merely a matter of finding the right moment to strike."
"Barriss…. Thank you for looking after them", Sam said with a smile.
Barriss smiled.
Barriss said, "it was the best I could do for all of the terrible things I've done."
Ahsoka asked with a smile, "after the Empire is taken care of…. Would you like to rejoin the order?"
"But could I truly…. Be loyal this time…. And not try to….", Barriss asked herself before Leon cut her off.
He said, "everyone deserves a second chance, Barriss. And after helping Luke and Leia, you certainly deserve one."
Barriss smiled.
"Come on, let's head to the hangar bay…. It's our only way out", Barriss said.
"Lead the way", Luminara said.
As they made their way to the hangar, Sam asked, "now where have I heard that before?"
The group then made it to the hangar bay.
"Come on", Obi Wan said.
"Stop right there."
Sam and Hordak along with the others stood in front of the twins.
They all saw Vader standing there with his lightsaber ignited.
Behind him were a few Inquisitors and a few stormtroopers.
Luke and Leia were hugging their uncle's.
Han stood beside Leia with his blaster out.
Vader growled, "return them to me, and I'll make your deaths quick and painless."
Sam ignited his sabers and said, "it ain't gonna happen…. Ani."
Obi Wan said as he activated his lightsaber as did the other Jedi, "why would we let them go back to you? After all the harm you did to them?"
Hordak said, "in the name of the Galactic Republic, you are under arrest, Emperor."
Vader let out a laugh.
Luke and Leia hugged their uncles tighter as they were getting scared.
Vader said, "you have no idea what you're walking into…. But who am I to refuse a good challenge?"
"Please, don't let him take us again", Luke said, a bit scared.
"Please", Leia said with fear.
Sam and Hordak turned to look at the twins as they were shaking from fear.
Sam said, "don't worry kids."
Hordak finished with, "he won't."
Sam and Hordak stepped forward, as if daring Vader to attack. Daring him to go after their family again.
Vader felt anger and a bit of sadness.
"Luke, Leia…. Come here this instant", Vader growled.
Luke and Leia nearly whispered, "no", as they hid behind their uncles.
"I said…. Come here", Vader shouted.
Luke and Leia let out a cry of fear.
"Leave them alone! Don't you realize you are scaring them", Sam shouted in anger.
Hordak yelled, "how someone as vile as you could be related to Sam and the kids leaves me utterly baffled!"
"It's not too late Anakin", Barriss said as she glared at Darth Vader.
Vader growled, "my name is Vader. And I have committed far too many atrocities to be forgiven!"
"Get Luke and Leia out of here, Han", Sam whispered.
"Got it", Han said.
Han and Chewie along with Luke and Leia ran to the Falcon.
"STOP THEM", Vader roared.
The Jedi and Princesses began fighting the Inquisitors as Sam, Hordak and Barriss stared down Vader.
"I should have killed you years ago, little brother", Vader snarled.
"And I should've let you burn in that volcano, Ani. I always thought there was still good in you…. But by the looks of it…. You are lost", Sam shouted as he held his two lightsabers in a reverse grip.
Vader twirled his lightsaber as he said, "then let this battle be a permanent reminder…. Why you don't mess with the Sith."
"No, this will remind you not to mess with our family", Hordak shouted in anger.
The three then charged towards Vader.
Vader quickly pulled out another blade and used both to block the strikes from his three opponents.
Vader hissed out, "you're all going to die today!"
Sam jumped to avoid Vader's strike.
"I don't think so", Sam shouted.
Hordak threw his saber into the air as he ducked a strike, and was just able to catch it and strike at Vader!
Vader quickly blocked it, but was not able to block Barriss' attack, which left a burning slash mark on his side.
Vader glared at Barriss and said, "you're outta your league, Offee. When I find the right moment, you'll be dead on the floor before you can even blink!"
"At least I could see the error in my ways… unlike you", Barriss shouted with a glare.
Barriss jumped out of the way as Vader tried to strike her with one of his sabers.
Hordak's green lightsaber hit Vader's mask…. Cutting in half and revealing his face.
Vader looked at them all with burning hatred.
His eyes burned a dark yellow. He had yellow eyes! Yellow eyes for God's sake!
….
As Han and Chewie got Luke and Leia to the ship, Luke finds himself pounced on by a familiar face!
"Luke", Mara shouted as she hugged Luke.
Luke exclaimed, "Mara?! What're you doing here!?"
Mara replied, "I ain't about to leave the bit who was there for me at the mercy of the Emperor!"
Luke blushed.
"Save the kisses for later, we have to get you two out of here", Han shouted.
Chewie growled in agreement.
Han and Chewie quickly got into the pilot seats of the Falcon as Luke, Mara and Leia stood behind them.
"Hit it Chewie", Han shouted.
Chewie growled.
"Hold on kids", Han shouted.
Luke said, "kids?! You're two years older than US-"
Luke didn't get to finish his rant as the Falcon took off, leaving the others to continue the fight on the ground.
….
Shaak Ti and Obi Wan were fighting two Inquisitors
Frosta had just frozen an Inquisitor, and Kit Fisto used the force to crush the ice into frozen bloody chunks!
Fisto said, "I won't cleaning that up."
Frosta added, "me neither."
Luminara had just sliced an Inquistor's lightsaber in half.
Obi Wan asked the rest of the Jedi and Entrapta, "what do you say we finish this together?"
The Jedi all nodded as they stood together with their lightsabers at the ready, and Entrapta stood next to Obi Wan with her hair poised to strike like vipers!
"Let's finish them", Frosta said with a grin on her face.
"Hey losers catch", Bow shouted as he fired some arrows at some stormtroopers which exploded on impact.
Sam, Barriss and Hordak kept dueling Vader, as the fight took them further up the stairs of the temple!
Vader then force pushed Barriss and Hordak away.
Vader was now furiously clashing his lightsabers with Sam's lightsabers.
As the two got caught in a deadlock, Vader growled, "why do you continue a fight you cannot win?!"
Sam growled, "because you are nothing. And I am a Jedi Knight! You are not worthy of your title! Of your armor! Or the family I raised in your stead!"
Vader growled in anger.
In a second Sam was caught off guard, and he let out a yell of pain as Vader left a burning slash mark on his left side.
Vader lifted his saber into the air, ready to stab Sam, when Hordak rushed in and blocked the attack.
Hordak had a look of rage on his face, he then force pushed Vader back.
He yelled, "don't you dare touch him, you nerf herder!"
Hordak and Barriss then rushed forward.
Vader was not quick enough to block Hordak's attack…. And one of his lightsabers, the one that belonged to Palpatine, was sliced in half.
Barriss and Hordak kept up their attacks as Vader desperately tried to block them with his remaining weapon!
Barriss taunted as she kept on clashing her lightsaber with Vader's red lightsaber, "what's the matter Vader? Scared now?"
Vader yelled, "you're going to regret betraying me!"
Barriss said, "I only wish I had done it sooner."
Vader grew so angry that he force pushed Hordak away and focused all his rage and power at Barriss.
Hordak felt pain as soon as he was slammed against the wall.
Barriss was now struggling to block all of Vader's attacks.
"Barriss", Sam shouted as he tried to use the force to heal his wound.
Barriss desperately blocked the attacks as fast as she could, but Vader was growing too strong for her to contend with!
And it was a punch to the face that knocked her back, and gave Vader enough time to stab her in the stomach!
Sam yelled, "NOOOOO!"
Barriss stared at Vader in shock and horror as he hissed, "what does it feel like? Dying for nothing?"
Hordak looked in horror as he saw Barriss fall to the ground.
The rest of the Jedi had been able to defeat the Inquisitors.
Then they all froze as they felt pain through the force.
Frosta asked, "what's wrong?"
Luminara said, "Barriss…. She's fading fast!"
They all turned their gaze towards the stairs and began to run up them.
As Vader stood above Barriss, he said, "that wound in your stomach will make your death a slow and painful process."
Sam yelled in utter rage and moved faster than the eye could blink, ramming into Vader and sending them both through the window!
Hordak yelled, "SAM!"
"SAM", Ahsoka and Leon shouted.
….
As the Falcon flew, Luke and Leia felt it.
Barriss.
She was dying!
Luke yelled, "we need to go back!"
Han yelled, "what?! No, we need to get you outta here!"
Leia said, "Chewie, grab him."
Han said, "yeah, like he's gonna- HEY!"
Chewie grabbed Han in his arms as Luke and Leia took control of the ship!
Han yelled, "you're outta your minds!"
….
Hamill beeped as he jumped onto Hordak's shoulder.
"Sam", Hordak shouted as he ran to the window.
Sam was hanging onto a ledge as Vader had all but stabbed his hand into the temple wall.
"This is the end for you my little brother", Vader sneered.
Sam then spotted various ledges that led to the roof.
He looked at Vader and said, "the game's not over yet, Ani!"
Sam then used the force to jump.
"Sam, watch out", Obi Wan shouted.
Sam looked down to see Vader climbing after him, practically stabbing his hands into the walls as he chased after his brother.
Sam kept on climbing.
"Hurry Sam, he's right behind you", Ahsoka shouted.
Sam yelled, "what does it look like I'm trying to do?!"
Then Vader grabbed Sam's leg. Sam quickly kicked Vader in the face, sending him falling until he grabbed a ledge. This actually knocked a tooth out of his mouth! This made Vader get angry.
"ENOUGH", Vader roared as he jumped towards Sam.
Vader crashed into his brother and the two were sent crashing back into the temple.
The two separated and quickly reactivated their weapons, glaring at each other in rage.
"I will kill you…. All of you! And I will take my children back", Vader roared as he clashed his lightsabers with Sam's blue lightsabers.
Sam growled, "by the souls of everyone you've hurt! Everyone you've killed! Everyone you've tortured, I will not let your evil continue!"
Vader growled as he used the force to lift a piece of debris and threw it at Sam.
Hordak quickly jumped over to his fiance and slashed the debris in half.
Hordak and Sam stood side by side as Sam said, "your reign is at an end, 'Emperor.'"
"Never", Vader roared as he shot force lighting at them.
Sam and Hordak blocked the lighting with their lightsabers.
"We should go help them", Entrapta said.
Obi Wan stopped her and said, "no. Sam and Hordak must defeat him. Once they do, the Empire can be dissolved."
Sam and Hordak kept on blocking the force lighting with their lightsabers.
Sam.
Sam knew that voice….
He whispered, "Antauri?"
"Sam, you and Hordak, along with Adora, must bring balance to the force", Antauri said.
Upon hearing these words Sam and Hordak began to walk forward as they kept on pushing Vader's force lightning back at him.
Sam and Hordak growled, "we need…. Adora!"
As Vader cackled, thinking he was going to win, they all heard, "YO! ASSHOLE!"
Vader turned around to see…. She-Ra!
She held her sword and said, "Vader, you messed with the wrong family!"
She-Ra let out a yell as she aimed her sword at Vader and fired an energy blast at him.
The blast hit Vader, burning his cape to cinders, his armor cracked and warped, and caused him to drop to his knees!
"Surrender Vader, you're finished", Hordak shouted.
Then a smoke bomb was thrown in the room.
Everyone started to cough.
"I can't see", Sam coughed.
"Your majesty, we must retreat!"
Vader quickly got to his feet and ran to who had yelled at him.
"Quick, we have to stop him", She-Ra shouted.
"I got Vader", Luminara shouted, but she was grabbing Obi Wan instead.
Obi Wan said, "I'm not him!"
Entrapta thought she grabbed Vader, but it was Frosta instead!
Frosta yelled, "lemme go!"
"I got him", Kit Fisto shouted but it was Sam he was grabbing.
Sam said, "wrong."
Hordak thought he grabbed Vader as he shouted, "I got 'em!"
But in actuality, he was grabbing Aayla by the head tails, as she said, "ow! Ow! Ow! Ow!"
"Sorry", Hordak shouted as he let her go.
Sam shouted as he tried to see through the smoke, "where is he?"
Ahsoka used the force to push all of the smoke away, and they saw Vade running with his total guard around him.
"Stop him", Leon shouted.
Vader quickly used the force that caused the roof to collapse and the door was blocked.
Sam yelled, "quick, move the rocks!"
All the Jedi began moving the rocks as fast as they could. They couldn't let Vader get away!
….
Vader had just made it to the shuttle.
"The Executor is ready, my lord", Piett said.
Vader was in deep thought,he still wanted to get his children back, but he knew he had to flee in order to avoid getting caught.
"My lord, we must go now", Piett shouted.
Vader growled, "we make for my castle on Mustafar. There we shall regroup. We WILL retake this planet!"
Sam and the others had just made it to the hangar bay…. Only to see the shuttle fly away.
Sam yelled, "dammit! He got away!"
Hordak said, "don't worry Sam, he can't hide from us. We'll get him soon enough."
But before they could say anything, they saw the Falcon approaching!
Ahdoka asked, "is that the Falcon?"
The Falcon soon landed in the hangar bay.
Luke and Leia ran out.
Sam shouted but Luke and Leia ran past him, "Luke! Leia! What are you two doing...?!"
"Barriss", the two shouted.
Everyone followed the twins as they ran to Barriss on the upper floor. She was leaning against the wall, her breathing ragged and weak, her eyes looking into nowhere.
Luke and Leia were then beside Barriss.
"Barriss, hang on", Luke shouted as he held her hand.
"We'll get you help" Ahsoka shouted.
Barriss coughed out, "i-it's too l-late. I…. I'm not going to make it."
"Don't say that", Leon cried out.
"Please Barriss…. You have to live", Sam shouted with tears falling down his eyes.
Barriss said, "it's alright. It's alright. I know I'm not going to make it. But, at least I can pass on, knowing that I was with people who loved me... You two gave me the best days of my life... thank you."
Luke and Leia started to cry.
Luminara was crying as well.
Barriss said, "forgive me master. I've done so many terrible things."
Luminara replied, "you have more than made up for your mistakes. You are truly…. A Jedi."
Barriss smiled softly.
Barriss asked as she was feeling more weak, "Ahsoka…. Leon…. Could you ever forgive me…. For everything I did to you?"
Ahsoka and Leon said, "of course…. Our friend…."
Barriss gave a content smile as she said, "thank you all…. So much…. May the force…. Be with you…."
The light left her eyes, and Barriss closed them as her spirit became one with the force….
Then Barriss' body faded away….
Sam stuttered, "m-may the force be with you, Barriss Offee…. Jedi, and friend…."
Everyone was crying.
Sam and Hordak held Luke and Leia in their arms.
She-Ra had transformed back into Adora and she comforted the twins as well.
Barriss had died a hero.
Defending her friends. Her family.
The Rebels had taken Coruscant.
But at a terrible cost….
