Chapter 47: Saving Kamino
It was now the 2nd year of the New Republic.
The Jedi have been slowly building temples throughout the galaxy.
The whole Galaxy was all but United once again. The Senate no longer held any corruption, and the Jedi helped guide the galaxy on a better path.
Every now and then Imperials have tried to infiltrate the Senate…. But with the help of the Jedi and She-Ra…. They were stopped.
The New Republic still hasn't captured Vader…. And the Jedi along with She-Ra are doing everything they can to find him.
Vader was public enemy number one across the entire galaxy, with the remnants of his Empire now being treated like the rebellion that had taken back the galaxy and made it a better place.
Which led to the current problem.
Kamino had been taken captive by Vader and the remnants of the Empire.
He was holding Kamino and it's cloning facility hostage.
And thus, the New Republic needed to amass a full scale invasion to take back the planet.
Scorpia and Perfuma were hoping for success, due to their daughter being cloned there.
Sam and Hordak along with She-Ra were helping the New Republic and Jedi.
Luke and Leia had come along to help as well, despite the protest of their uncle's.
Several gunships were being loaded up on a republic cruiser that was stationed near Kamino.
"If all goes according to plan…
Kamino will soon be free", Sam said.
Hordak said, "this invasion is imperative. We need to stop Vader and his Empire before they can snatch victory."
"But I don't like the idea...of Luke and Leia offering themselves as bait and distraction", She-Ra said.
"It was our idea", Luke said.
Leia said, "we'll be able to catch Vader off guard, and the invasion will be that much closer to success. Besides, we're 18 now. We can handle ourselves."
"You may be 18…. But you two will always be my little angels", Sam said as he hugged the twins causing them to blush.
Hordak said, "let's just get this invasion taken care of. I wanna get back home to Rey, Aiden and Grogu."
Sam said, "as do I. I'm glad Bane and Ani offered to watch them."
"Let's do this", She-Ra said.
Melog had used their magic to make the Republic cruisers invisible.
Slash was addressing the troopers, "alright men. Vader has crossed a line. He's attacking our home. Our brothers. And we aren't gonna let him get away with it!"
"No Sir", The troopers said.
"We are gonna free our home", Hunter shouted.
Wrecker yelled, "let's smash some heads!"
Echo yelled, "for Kamino!"
All of the troopers cheered as they began piling into Gunships.
All the Republic cruisers and gunships were invisible.
There were also a few X wings as well.
"There's Kamino", Scorpia said as the planet came into view.
Perfuma said, "good thing I brought some plant seeds. That'll really help in the battle."
Mermista said, "and with all of that water down there, those Imps don't stand a chance."
With my magic, I'll use it to turn Kamino into a much more suitable place for the Kaminoans to live", She-Ra said.
"Okay everyone, get ready", Hordak said.
As the cruiser entered the atmosphere, the gunships began racing towards their destination.
….
On Kamino.
"You won't get away with this Vader", Kao Ki growled, he was the new Prime minister of Kamino.
Vader growled, "silence. My occupation of your planet will show the New Republic just how formidable I still am."
"You won't stand a chance against the Republic, or the Jedi or She-Ra either", Zea Meve said as she glared at Vader.
Vader said, "keep talking like that, and you'll end up like the previous Kaminoans in your place."
"Lord Vader! We have trouble", an Imperial officer said.
"What is it….", Vader snarled.
The officer said, "we have readings of multiple vehicles heading towards our location. The readings indicate that they're New Republic gunships."
Vader shouted, "what!? How are they able to pass by!?"
The building then shook.
Vader turned to see security footage…. He saw Luke and Leia, along with Sam, Hordak, Ahsoka, Leon, Scorpia, Perfuma and Mermista fighting the Stormtroopers.
He also saw the clones as well.
He turned to the officer and said, "send every single soldier we have out there. I want the Jedi dead, and the Skywalker children back in our clutches!"
A trooper asked, "what about you my lord?"
Vader pulled out his saber and said, "no-one will survive this battle while I'm down there…."
….
Sam and Hordak used the force to freeze the blaster bolts.
"Take this", the two shouted as they fired the blaster bolts back at the Stormtroopers.
Ahsoka and Leon were back to back as they deflected the bolts back at their enemies. Mermista was using the rain to form waves to send the stormtroopers into the water below as Scorpia was easily able to shock the troopers.
Luke and Leia sliced the stormtroopers in half with their lightsabers.
Wrecker smashed his way through the troopers.
He yelled, "here comes the wrecking ball!"
Tech managed to hijack a turret and began peppering stormtroopers with fire!
Hunter shot a few troopers down.
"The rest of you go, free the Kaminoans…. We'll handle Vader", Sam shouted.
Hordak shouted, "the Empire isn't gonna rule this planet for any longer!"
"Let's go", Perfuma shouted as she and Scorpia led the clones.
Sam and the rest of the Jedi sensed Vader was getting closer.
"We have to buy enough time for She-Ra to reach the planet's core", Sam whispered to Hordak.
Hordak whispered, "thank the force that Mermista can create that bubble for them to go underwater and get to the core. Makes it harder as we stall for them."
"I know", Leon said.
"Now you two remember…." Hordak said to the twins.
Luke said, "we know, we know."
Leia said, "keep our guard up and keep the charade going."
Then the doors opened.
The Jedi got into their fighting stance.
Vader stood there with his red lightsaber.
He growled, "hello…. Old friends."
Sam activated his sabers and said, "you're not winning this fight Vader."
"And we're not friends", Ahsoka growled.
Luke and Leia activated their sabers.
"Hello…. Father", Luke said with a growl.
Vader said, "hello my children. You still follow the Jedi dogma. How disappointing."
"What's disappointing father is that you and your empire still believe they can win", Leia scoffed.
Vader yelled, "and your further refusal to listen to me is maddening! None of your friends will live through this!"
"That's what you think", Hordak said as he glared at the sith lord.
"Give up Vader", Ahsoka said.
Vader said, "never", as he started to run at them with murderous intent.
Vader's lightsaber clashed with Sam's lightsabers.
Sam jumped over Vader, Hordak then clashed his sabers with Vader.
Their blades grinded against one another, as Sam ran at Vader from behind.
Vader force pushed Sam.
Sam hit a wall.
Ahsoka and Leon let out a shout as they charged towards Vader. Vader kicked Hordak away and ignited a second lightsaber to block the attacks from Leon and Ahsoka.
Luke shouted as he charged towards his father, "another lightsaber!? Are you kidding!?"
Vader's hands began spinning like windmills as he said, "a little something I picked up from Grievous!"
Leia and Luke's lightsabers clashed with Vader's.
"We're not gonna let you win", Leia growled.
Vader growled, "I'd like to see you try!"
To his surprise Luke and Leia blocked his attacks.
Vader growled, "what's this!?"
Luke and Leia were able to push their father back as Hordak and Sam rushed him!
"We have been practicing Father", Luke shouted.
"And we have the best Jedi Masters", Leia smirked.
Sam and Hordak crashed their blades against Vader's as the rain poured around them, steam rising from the lightsabers.
"You poisoned my children's mind", Vader snarled.
Luke and Leia yelled, "they made us stronger with their teachings!"
"Luke and Leia could never turn into monsters like you", Sam shouted.
Hordak yelled, "you'll never bring them to the darkside!"
"No matter how many times you may try to kidnap them", Ahsoka shouted.
"Or harm them", Leon shouted.
Luke and Leia yelled, "we will never be like you!"
They used the force to send Vader close to the edge of the platform.
Vader almost lost his balance.
"It's over Vader", Sam shouted.
Vader's hands began to spark with electricity as he yelled, "NO!"
Vader fired force lighting…. And to his shock..
Hordak and Sam were using the force to stop the lighting!
Sam said, "you're out of tricks, Vader."
Hordak added, "and we're out of patience!"
They sent the lightning right back at Vader!
The lighting hit Vader as he screamed in pain!
Leon said into the comlink, "Adora, are you almost done?"
Adora responded, "almost! Mermista and I are nearly there! Just stall him for another minute!"
Vader then growled in pain as he slowly stood up.
Sam and Hordak pointed their lightsabers at him as Sam said, "stand down Vader. As a Jedi of the New Republic, you're under arrest!"
"It's over, Father", Luke shouted.
"Leon…. We have been able to free the Kaminoans", Hunter said through the comlink.
Leon said, "good. Make sure all Imperial forces are taken care of, and round up the Kaminoans to safety."
"Come on, let's take him in", Ahsoka said.
Vader smirked as a shuttle appeared behind him and the ship fired at the Jedi.
Leia yelled, "scatter!"
The Jedi scattered as Vader ran to the shuttle.
Okay thanks.
"Stop him", Leon shouted.
All the Jedi used the force in an attempt to stop the shuttle from escaping.
Vader sent a blast of lightning at a nearby antenna, making it spark and distract the Jedi long enough for him to get onto the shuttle!
Everyone was coughing and then the smoke cleared…. Only to see the shuttle fly away!
"Damn it", Leia shouted in anger.
Luke said, "don't worry sis. We'll get 'em next time."
Sam said, "your brother's right. But for now, let's take care of things down here."
….
"For the Honor of the Jedi Order", She-Ra shouted as she stabbed her sword onto the ground.
The planet shook as light began to engulf it. The storm clouds began to dissipate!
"Adora did it!" Leon shouted with a smile on his face.
The clones and Kaminoans ran out to see what was happening outside.
The water was drying up…. And land was beginning to grow, along with some plant life. The planet grew more plentiful and lively for many species to live on. Even the species that survived in the ways that adapted to living on land!
"It's so…. Beautiful", Echo said in awe.
Then a glowing light appeared in front of them.
It was She Ra and Mermista.
"All of you have our eternal thanks", Kao Ki said as he and the rest of the Kaminoans bowed.
She-Ra said, "no thanks is necessary. Helping the galaxy is it's own reward."
Now you all can live in a much more peaceful planet." Sam said with a smile on his face.
Catra asked, "Scorpia, how is your…. Daughter?"
Scorpia said, "she's fine. That's actually one of the reasons me and Perfuma came here. She's ready to finally come out of the pod!"
Catra said, "really!?"
Perfuma asked, "want to come see her?"
"Sure", Adora said.
The expecting mothers lead their friends to the room that held a certain pod.
Floating within was a baby girl with curly snow white hair. She had a tail like Scorpia's, but skin like Perfuma's.
Scorpia said, "meet Flora. Our daughter."
"Awww she's so cute", Leia squealed.
"I agree with Leia", Adora said with a smile on her face.
Sam said, "imagine her and Aiden playing with one another."
Adora said, "stop! You'll give me a cuteness overload!"
"And in just a few days she will be ready to come out", Zea Meve said with a smile on her face.
"That's great news", Perfuma said with a smile on her face.
Scorpia smiled at her daughter and said, "we can't wait to meet you, our little flower."
"We just need to make sure that no harm was done to her", Zea Meve said.
"At least our home planet is safe", Wrecker said with a smile.
"And a much more livable environment", Tech added.
"You got that right", Crosshair said with a small smile on his face.
"Let's go inform the New Republic and the Jedi of our victory…. And the escape of Darth Vader", Sam said with a frown on his face.
….
Timeskip.
The Ebon Hawk landed on the planet of Ilum.
Rey walked down the ramp of the Ebon Hawk as she wore a warm sweater.
Grogu followed her, in a very large coat that his ears poked out of.
Sam and Hordak followed behind them, with Hordak carrying Aiden in as many blankets as he could.
It's so cold", Rey said as she shivered.
Luke and Leia were there as well.
Soon the Skywalker family was in front of the temple.
Sam said, "Master Yoda should be inside. He's here for every time a batch of Jedi younglings are ready to find their Kyber Crystals."
The family walked inside and Master Yoda was waiting for them.
"Greetings, Skywalker Family", Yoda said with a smile on his face.
The kids all said, "hello Master Yoda."
Yoda said, "today, receive your Kyber Crystals, you will. By venturing into the temple, yes."
Rey and Grogu were very excited to hear this.
"But alone you must go into the temple", Yoda said.
Hordak asked, "are we sure Rey and Grogu are ready for this?"
Yes…. Ready they are, says the Force", Yoda said with a chuckle.
Sam and Hordak shared a look as they knelt before their adopted children.
Rey asked as she held Grogu in her arms, "Dad…. Papa, can we really do this on our own?"
Grogu whined.
Hordak said, "with the skill both of you have shown at such a young age, yes, we know you can do this."
"You two are strong in the force…. We know you two can do it", Sam said with a smile on his face.
Luke and Leia walked forward.
Luke said, "good luck you two."
Leia said, "and may the odds be ever in your favor. And we know they will be."
Rey and Grogu smiled.
Aiden cooed at his siblings.
Rey said, "well, with that kind of confidence boost…. Come on Grogu. Let's find us some crystals!"
Grogu giggled.
"Remember to trust in the force", Sam said with a smile
"That way you will know which Crystal is yours", Hordak said as he smiled.
Rey nodded as she and Grogu made their way into the temple to find their Kyber Crystals.
Rey shivered as she held Grogu in her arms.
"This cave is so big…. And there are a lot of crystals", Rey said.
Grogu then lifted his head towards a noise he heard. He started making babbling noises as Rey asked, "what? What is it, buddy?"
Grogu then pointed in a direction.
Rey followed.
She muttered, "when all else fails, follow the baby's directions."
Soon they were inside a cave that was full of Kyber Crystals.
Grogu heard the noise even louder.
Rey said, "I hear it too. But which ones are ours?"
Grogu made a cooing sound.
"Trust in the force", Rey said.
Rey closed her eyes and reached her hand out.
Grogu did the same.
The lights began to dim for most of the crystals around them.
All except two, that slowly began to float from their places in the walls, and into the palms of the kids.
Rey smiled.
"We found them little brother", Rey squealed.
Grogu laughed in joy.
"Let's go back", Rey said with a smile on her face.
Rey carried Grogu, as well as their crystals, out of the temple, where the others were all waiting with smiles on their faces.
Rey and Grogu then showed them their Kyber Crystals.
Sam and Hordak were the first to hug the kids in excitement.
"We are so proud of you two", Hordak said with a smile on his face.
"Our little angels are growing so fast", Sam said with a smile on his face.
Aiden giggled.
Luke and Leia quickly joined the hug as well.
"Strong in the force, you two are", Yoda said with a smile.
"Now let's go…. You have to decide the design of your lightsabers", Luke said with a smile on his face.
Rey and Grogu both smiled as the group rushed into the Ebon Hawk.
….
A little later.
Rey walked forward to show her adopted parents her lightsaber.
It was black in color, and looked to be made in part of the remains of the staff she had carried around when she was on her own.
Rey asked a bit nervously, "what do you think?"
Sam said, "very impressive. You managed to convert the remains of your staff into a lightsaber. Not many could do something so imaginative."
Rey smiled.
"Let's see the color of your lightsaber, sweety", Hordak said.
Rey nodded as she activated her weapon, showing the vibrant yellow blade of her saber.
Sam said, "yellow…. Not a common color. Very interesting."
Leia asked, "what about Grogu?"
"Well his lightsaber is a shoto saber", Sam said.
Luke asked, "what's a shoto saber?"
"A shorter lightsaber hilt, mostly used for those who use two lightsabers", Sam explained.
Hordak said, "that makes sense, given his very small size."
Yoda then walked out with Grogu behind him.
Grogu was using the force to carry his lightsaber.
His lightsaber looked like a smaller version of Ahsoka's.
Grogu then used the force to activate his lightsaber, revealing the color of the blade to be a pulsing orange color that made the whole room glow.
Leia asked, "Orange?"
"I haven't seen a lightsaber color like that before", Sam said.
Yoda said, "many colors, a lightsaber can have, yes. Green and blue, the most common they are. Yellow, orange, and such, not as common, are they."
"You are right on that Master Yoda", Hordak said with a nod of his head.
Rey asked, "does this mean we can start our Jedi training now?"
Sam said, "indeed it does. The next step is to head to a temple to begin training."
"Well the Jedi Temple on Naboo is perfect for us to train our kids", Hordak said.
Sam said, "I'm in total agreement. Next stop, Naboo."
The family all agreed.
….
1 week later.
Sam went to Aiden's room to wake him up.
Sam walked into his son's room
Sam frowned when he saw Aiden sobbing a bit in his crib.
Sam knelt by the crib and said, "Aiden, sweety, are you alright? Why are you crying? Did somebody hurt you?"
"Dada", Aiden sobbed.
Sam then touched his son's forehead.
He said, "oh dear. You have a fever. Come on honey. I know just what you need…."
….
A few minutes later, Sam was feeding his son some chicken soup as the toddler was wrapped in blankets. BB8 was nearby, playing a song for the child that they had recorded.
(Think Luke's theme from A New Hope.)
Hordak and the kids then walked inside.
Luke asked, "what's wrong uncle?"
Sam answered, "Aiden's sick. Little guy got a fever. I'm feeding him some chicken soup so he'll start to feel better. The blankets and lullaby are to help him rest."
Hordak then walked over to his son.
He said, "oh, my poor baby. Is there anything we can do for him to help his recovery?"
Rey asked, "yeah, what can we do to help my little brother?"
Sam replied, "try to keep him in good spirits. Sing for him. Try to make him laugh. Anything that will make him feel better as he recovers."
Aiden sneezed and he cried as his throat hurt.
Sam said, "Hordak, sweety, please get him some warm milk. That'll soothe his throat."
Hordak said, "right away", before heading to the kitchen.
Hordak took out a bottle of blue milk and he warmed it up in a pot of water. Once it was warm enough, he took the bottle and got it to Aiden, who started suckling on it slowly.
Hordak rubbed Aiden's back as his son drank the blue milk.
He said, "that's it. Just drink it down slow. You'll be right as rain before you know it."
Soon Aiden was done drinking his milk and he yawned.
Sam said, "sleep, my little one. Get some rest."
Aiden snuggled into the blankets until he looked like a turtle.
"May you get better my little imp", Hordak said.
Aiden dozed off as Sam and Hordak sat on either side of him.
Leia asked, "how could he have gotten sick?"
Luke suggested, "he could have caught a cold on Illum. The same thing happened to me when we visited Hoth."
"I sent Threepio and the droids to buy Aiden some medicine", Sam said.
Leia asked, "how long will that take?"
Sam said, "well, your parents once tasked Artoo and Threepio to get some jogan fruit for a cake at a party. And it took them the whole day to get back, due to bounty hunters and a droid spa."
The kids and Hordak looked shocked.
Sam said, "oh, you'd be shocked by the stuff those two would get themselves into."
….
A few minutes later.
"No", Aiden cried as he refused to take his medicine.
Sam said, "come on Aiden. You've gotta take your medicine if you wanna get better."
Aiden said, "nooooooo."
Sam looked at Hordak and said, "say something shocking so he'll open his mouth."
Hordak watched as Sam held the spoon in front of Aiden as their son refused to take his medicine.
"Alright", Hordak sighed. He then took a breath and said, "Scorpia and Perfuma are gonna have a baby!"
Aiden gasped, allowing Sam to scoop the medicine into his mouth.
Aiden gave a look of disgust.
"Sorry sweety, but this will make you feel better", Sam said.
Aiden whined before Sam began cradling him.
"Shhhhh…. shhhhhh….", Sam said as he cradled his son.
Aiden began to calm down as his father began humming a little tune.
(Rey's theme.)
Sam rubbed Aiden's back as he slowly closed his eyes.
He whispered, "that's right, little one. Rest as much as you can."
Sam placed Aiden inside his crib and placed a blanket over him.
He kissed his son on the forehead and said, "good night, my little one."
Hordak kissed his son's forehead as well.
The two left the room and they walked towards their own room.
Hordak said, "I hope he gets better soon. I can't stand to see him in such pain."
Sam said, "I'm sure he'll get through this. Our family always does. Maybe once he's better, we could visit Scorpia and Perfuma. Their daughter should be finished by then."
Hordak smiled softly as he kissed Sam on the lips.
He said, "I love you, Sam."
Sam said, "and I love you, Hordak."
Sam laid his head on Hordak's chest and Hordak wrapped his arms around his husband.
Another perfect ending to a perfect day….
….
On Lothal
Ashla and Prime were in their children's room.
They had been blessed with two sons around 2 years ago.
Their names are Ash and Sokka.
The parents were looking down at the toddlers as they slept, and we got a good look at their appearance.
Ash had his mother's eyes.
Ash had his father's pale skin and short grey hair.
Sokka had his father's eyes.
Sokka has his mother's orange skin with white hair.
Ashla whispered, "how cute do they look?"
Prime said, "very. Even after two years, I'm still amazed that I'm a father with a beautiful wife and two healthy boys."
Ashla smiled as she hugged her husband.
Prime hugged back with the same loving smile his wife wore.
They can still remember the day the twins were born.
….
Flashback.
Prime was currently looking over some data on how his clones were doing on a mission to Kashyyyk.
Then his comlink went off.
Ahsoka shouted, "Prime are you there!?"
Prime responded, "yes, I'm here, what's wrong?"
"Ashla is in the medical center…. She is giving birth already", Ahsoka yelled
Prime grew wide-eyed before saying, "I'll be there as soon as I can!"
Prime then rushed off to the nearest speeder...
….
"Come on sis you can do it", Ahsoka said as she held her sister's hand.
Ashla yelled, "you try being in this situation right now!"
"Trust me, I know what it feels like", Ahsoka said.
Ashla cried in pain as she pushed with all her might and then a baby's cry was heard.
In the medical droid's arms was a crying baby boy.
Ahsoka said, "the first baby's out. It's a boy."
Ashla said, "A-Ash."
Ashla began pushing again as the second baby was on the way.
Prime soon made it to the Medical center.
"Just on time", Leon said.
Prime asked, "is Ashla inside?"
Leon nodded as he led Prime to the room where Ashla is in.
Prime quickly made their way to Ashla's side and said, "I'm here. I'm here."
Ashla yelled, "you did this to me Prime! You made me a pregnant whale!"
Prime said, "I love you too."
Prime then saw Ash in the droid's arms.
The droid then handed the baby to Prime.
Ashla screamed in pain as she pushed.
After a few moments, another baby's cry was heard as the medical droid held the other baby.
Ahsoka said, "another boy."
Ashla said, exhausted, "Sokka."
The medical droid then handed the baby to Ashla.
Leon walked into the room.
"Oh, they're so cute", Ashla said as she held Sokka who was crying.
Prime couldn't keep his eyes off of Ash as Ahsoka handed Sokka to Ashla.
Ash and Sokka giggled as they saw their parents.
"Awww", Leon said with a smile on his face.
Ashla said, "hello sweeties. It's me. Your mom. Oh Prime, they're too precious."
"I agree", Prime said with a smile on his face.
Ash then grabbed one of Prime's fingers.
Sokka grabbed his mother's lekku.
The parents couldn't stop smiling at their newborn children.
Leon and Ahsoka stood together and smiled at their new nephews.
….
Present
Ashla and Prime then walked out of their children's room and they smiled as they saw their sleeping faces.
….
Naboo.
"Glad you two could come to visit", Adora said with a smile towards Scorpia and Perfuma.
Scorpia said, "so are we. We're excited for all of you to finally meet Flora."
Speaking of which, Perfuma had the child wrapped up in blankets, and was hiding her, as if to give a grand entrance for the infant.
"Sam and Hordak are in Aiden's room, bring your daughter there, so they can meet her", Adora said.
Scorpia and Perfuma smiled as they walked through the house towards Aiden's room.
Sam and Hordak watched as Aiden played with Hamill and BB8.
Their son had gotten better and he was no longer sick.
BB8 beeped as Aiden tried to grab him.
Scorpia knocked on the door frame and said, "knock knock."
Hordak asked, "Scorpia?"
"It's open, come in", Sam said.
Scorpia and Perfuma walked in as Rey asked, "what's with that bundle of blankets?"
Scorpia and Perfuma smiled as they removed the blankets to reveal…. Their daughter, Flora.
Flora looked at all of them with wide and curious eyes, as the others all went, "aw…."
"She's so cute", Leia said with a squeal.
"Hey, put her in the playpen with Aiden and the droids", Luke said with a smile on his face.
Hamill beeped.
Perfuma gently sat Flora next to Aiden, as the two infants stared at one another for a few moments.
And everyone felt their heart melt as Flora hugged Aiden.
"AWWWWWWWWW", everyone in the room said.
Luke said, "that's the cutest thing I've seen all day."
Catra asked, "do you think once Adora and I have our child, do you think they will like Aiden and Flora?"
"I'm pretty sure they all will be best friends", Sam said with a smile on his face.
Hordak said, "agreed. Three companions, saving the Galaxy together."
Everyone smiles at the thought.
….
Meanwhile, on Dantooine.
Get some rest son…. You have trained enough for today", Leon said.
"I know dad…. I'm so tired", Ani said as he was already in his bed.
Leon then kissed his son's forehead.
He said, "sweet dreams, my little angel."
