PROLOGUE

A/N:

Hey Guys! This is the first story I wrote. I drew some inspiration from the anime Boruto and Black Butler. I liked the plot from these shows so I decided one day to try and incorporate them into the Pokemon world. I'm not sure if it will turn out great, but I'll try my best!

Also, I do not own Pokemon, Boruto, or Black Butler. I am also not the original writer of their plots. This story might be seem heavily based on them at first, but I promise it would tun out unique on its own.

*Check notes at the end**

"We are all bound to something. Destiny brought me there, and it will keep me there."

- Garnet Stone

"-SOL!" cried an Absol as it launched a gigantic, dark sphere.

The attack hurled towards a towering shadow of a figure. However, it barely made contact before the dark figure hovered slightly above where it stood. Spreading its wings, a flash of blue lines ran across the right half of its body, forming a glowing sigil tattoo.

The figure roared thunderously before its body marks melded into a common point: a black void on the left palm. The attack launched by the Absol was sucked into the void.

A split second later, another dark sphere formed out of nowhere. This time, the sphere was hurling towards the figure from above it. It did not react fast enough as the sphere exploded upon contact.

There was a flash of blinding light, followed by an ear-shattering explosion that sent rocks and debris flying. The Absol only moved the slightest to avoid a single fragment of concrete. Smoke and dust had obscured its view, but it remained standing in place.

A cold breeze swept over, completely clearing the floating particles. To the Pokémon's mild surprise, the figure seemed unharmed and still stood despite taking a direct hit.

The sound of footsteps on rubble can be heard in a distance. It soon came to a halt beside the Absol.

"To think you'd go to great lengths just for all this, Eller," said a young lady clad in black. She unconsciously placed her right hand on the Absol, feeling the Pokémon's soft, black fur against her palm. How it reminded her of 7 years ago; life had been so simple as winning and losing Pokémon battles to grow as a trainer.

"Everything led up to this moment, Garnet. You knew that," replied a young man who emerged behind the dark figure. His features were barely visible as he stood in the shadows underneath a large pillar. However, the glowing blue of the sigil mark running the length of his entire right arm and right body up to the right eye was clearly visible.

"Then there's really no other way to settle this then," replied the girl.

"Yes," he replied coolly. Eller took a few steps forward, fully coming into view. Even if they were standing a few distance apart, it was obvious that he towered over her. The last time they were side by side, she stood until his chin. A few years into their late teens, the height difference was even more evident; she would barely reach an inch beyond his shoulders.

He stared at Garnet for a few seconds, registering her appearance. Her steel blue hair was cut in layers, the longest parts reaching her midriff while the shortest rested shoulders-length. Her face had a few cuts and bruises. She did not wear an eyepatch over her left eye like she would often do. It revealed a large scar that ran down her closed eye. In contrast, her right eye was open and stared back at him with an ice blue intensity.

His gaze went to her left hand, which sported a similar sigil mark. However, it was not activated at the moment so it only appeared as a dark tattoo that extended upwards to her elbow, with the rest obscured by the remainder of her sleeve that was not tattered.

He then looked at the Absol standing beside her. Like its trainer, the Pokémon had grown over the years. He had always been fascinated by the friendship and loyalty between the trainer and her shiny Absol. The first time he met them, he was confused as to how an Absol came to have black fur and a white body. The shiny of its species were often with white fur and a red body. The Pokémon had truly been special and unique, both in appearance and strength.

Looking back at Garnet, he noticed her exhausted appearance amidst the intensity of her gaze. The years of having to carry a heavy burden on her shoulders slowly took a toll on her. He was two years her senior, yet he knew what the 17-year old girl had been through. It was far more than what he himself had experienced.

"I'll put an end to what this world has, Garnet. Everything will become how it was intended to be," said Eller. "If Cynthia made it, she would have been disappointed at you. So is Steven, wherever he is now,"

"Still…" Garnet replied inaudibly. She stepped forward and grabbed her left sleeve. Raising her left arm slightly to her side, she pulled on the remainder of her sleeve to reveal her sigil mark. In a second, it lit up in red lines that coursed throughout her left arm, left side of the body, and extending up to her scarred left eye.

"You'd still have to face me!" Garnet added as she opened her left eye to reveal a black sclera and a purple iris.

Without further exchange of words, their Pokémon lunged towards each other, while the two trainers prepared to yield the power of their sigil marks.

The story begins several years from this point…

So there it is guys, the prologue. If you want to know more on how the sigil mark looks, search Boruto karma mark and you'll see. I didn't know how to accurately describe it, so I hope the images would help.

Also, I plan for this story to include a lot of darksteelshipping moments. (ehem… Steven and Cynthia as parents). But expect that at some point, there would be less of them as the story would revolve around Garnet (You should have guessed by now who this girl is). Don't worry, I'll make sure to add some chapters focusing on the other characters from time to time.

Updates might not be on a regular basis. I'm in medschool and I only recently took up writing as a hobby. I hope I can fit some time in writing this on my schedule.

Anyways, see you in the next chapters to come :)
