Plans were arranged, Klaus with his plan to break the curse, Elena and the Salvatores to kill him during the sacrifice, only Katherine knew that Jeremy was now involved with Klaus and she had no idea why, finally the day of the sacrifice had arrived.

When Klaus went to collect Elena, he was burned with jealousy when he saw her kiss Stefan in front of him before what she thought was walking to her upcoming death, as much as Stefan was a friend to him, he definitely couldn't bare the sight of Elena kissing someone other than him.

He was so quick to place a drop of his blood in her mouth that she didn't even realize that it happened, he left her with Greta and went to collect the moon stone. As Elena was surrounded by a ring of fire she saw those others who would be sacrificed along with her tonight, Jules and Katherine.

"Katherine, you, here, I don't understand why?"

K "Well, I sent Isobel to make a deal with Klaus, you in exchange of my freedom, so Klaus being Klaus decided to punish the both of us, the same reason he compelled Isobel to burn in the sun and me here."

Elena had no words, she didn't know how to soothe her doppelganger, Klaus had already taken away so much from Katherine she couldn't let him kill her, but then, she thought, what power does she have over Klaus. She sees as Klaus comes to the Steven's quarry to see the three kills he was going to make in order to free himself.

Katherine watches as Greta crushes the moonstone and an idea strikes her, she looks at the werewolf struggling in pain, she looks down at the small pieces of rocks, with just the right calculation and right amount of force, this rock would kill the werewolf girl before Klaus does, she picks one rock and throws it at her and straight it goes, piercing her heart and she smirks, because she knows without killing the werewolf, he wouldn't come to kill her, things had to be done in a sequence.

She smirks looking at Klaus as he fumes because he has no other werewolf under his possession, but Klaus' calmness is more dangerous than his outbursts, staring straight at Katerina he tells Greta, "Greta just freeze Katerina until I return." And whoosh he goes, vanishes into nothingness.

E, "Katherine what did you do?"

K, "Shouldn't you be happy, without killing a werewolf he cannot exactly kill us."

Greta speaks up, "Don't trust her, after killing Jules she was going to kill you, you look at her hand, she is holding the same size of rock she used to kill that woman."

Elena notices the stone in one hand and recalls how Damon forcibly gave her his blood in the morning, "Omg Katherine, you know Damon forcibly gave me his blood and if you killed me with that stone, the moment I woke up after that, Klaus would have killed my family, like he killed yours."

K, "Better you die than I"

E, "Better you die than I, isn't this the same words you told Trevor's family after he helped you escape, and yes I came here willingly, not for me, but to save my family from the very monster who killed yours."

K, "Not my problem Elena, see if I kill you, you get a run for the rest for the rest of your life, your family dies, but I" she smiles, "Get to live."

Klaus returns by this time "And, Katerina since you want to live that much, I have decided not to kill you, I will make you suffer for the rest of the eternity."

Elena couldn't take this anymore and she blurts out, "Wait, you literally killed all of her family, hunted her for five hundred years, was that not enough, now you want to do more."

He chuckles, "Oh, I see, you have developed a soft spot for your doppelganger, but see she nothing like you, given the chance she will do the same to you what I did to her."

"You don't get to say that"

"Don't I" he smirks then looks at Katherine, "So, tell me Stefan, what did Katerina tell you when you locked her up in the root cellar."

Elena looks at Stefan he is carrying a girl on his back, he looks like he is compelled and Stefan answers Klaus' question, "Katherine told me that she will kill everyone Elena loves while she watches and then she will kill her."

Klaus continues, "Of course by killing you she meant trading you to me."

Elena, "What is your obsession with Katherine"

Klaus, "She turned brother against brother, I had to make her pay."

E, "What?"

Klaus, "And that's exactly what you would be doing if you stay here any longer."

Elena smiles sarcastically, "You are definitely going to kill me today so tell me how am I supposed to live?"

Klaus chuckles, he walks to her and lifts her chin up with his fingers, his smile makes him look like a demon god, "I have been so obsessed with this face for centuries, I wasn't exactly going to end you completely, was I?"

A chill runs up her spine, a sense of fear, when Klaus dropped her to this place, she felt a strange taste in her mouth and she thought she must have got something due to speeding air, Klaus smirks, "I gave you my blood love, I am going to take you away with me after the sacrifice."

Only these words were enough to make her start shaking, she was shaking in fear, dying in the sacrifice was one thing, but to think that Klaus was going to take her away with her, she was at a loss of words, she knew not piss him off because she didn't want her family to suffer the same fate as Katherine's but now that she has learned what's in store for her ahead, she is scared and she wants to stay dead than to leave with this monster.

Klaus leaves her and walks to Greta, "So Greta, tell me, there is nothing about un-triggered werewolves right. Since it is a full moon, every werewolf has turned and I can't exactly use them today."

Greta smiles at him, "No there is not love."

Elena watches as Stefan drops the girl down, Klaus rips her heart out and squeezes the blood out of it in a bowl. Next is the vampire's turn and she could see he brought someone, a strange man, he staked his heart. Next was Elena's turn, the fire barrier lowers, he walks to her and offers her his hand, "It's time."

Elena is conflicted, earlier when she came here, it was about dying but now it's about living and it's about living with a monster, she is scared to put her hand in his, she walks past him and goes to the altar, to the very place he killed the other two, she looks at the dead body of the vampire and the werewolf and then she looks at Katherine, was she lucky to have escaped she thinks.

Her thoughts are broken as Klaus walks to her and grabs her chin, forces her to look at him, "Thank you Elena" he says and the only words that come out of her mouth are, "Go to hell"

He chortles at it and then his fangs dig deep into her throat, he holds her closer and still as she loses consciousness with every gulp that he takes, as the last drop of blood is drained, her soul leaves her body, he drops her to the ground gently and then looking up at the sky his eyes glow, "Yes, yes, I can feel it."

Soon Klaus is thrown away by the strong winds and Bonnie makes her powerful entrance, "You were dead" he screams. Greta turns around to cast a spell but Damon comes from behind and breaks her neck.

Bonnie causes Klaus so much pain, she brings him to the brink of death as Elijah asked her to and then he makes an appearance before his younger brother, "Hello Brother"

"Elijah" Klaus says lying down on the ground in pain.

Without wasting a second, Elijah's hand goes into Klaus' chest, his beating heart is wrapped in his fist, "I didn't bury them in the ocean Elijah"

Elijah stops right there and then looking at his brother, "If you kill me you will never find them."

Stefan interrupts, "Don't trust him, he is lying."

Elijah looks at Bonnie and Stefan and then back at his brother, "You have my word" those were the only words he needed to hear to believe what his brother said."

Bonnie, "Do it and I'll take you both down."

Elijah, "You will die"

Bonnie, "I don't care."

Elijah looks at his brother and in fractions of seconds they both disappear.

Damon brings Elena to the Salvatore house, she wakes up and she is so happy that it is Damon and not the monster who murdered her she hugs him, she was scared as hell at the thought of living the rest of her life with him.

But soon relief turns to misery, she receives John's letter, John made the ultimate sacrifice to keep Elena human. It is the day of the funeral, Jenna Alaric, Elena, Jeremy, the Salvatores are all dressed in black, after the funeral Damon shows Stefan his werewolf bite.

Stefan goes to Bonnie and learns that Klaus could help him save his brother. When Stefan goes to Ric's apartment, Klaus demonstrates how his blood is the cure to a werewolf bite, by biting Katherine and then healing her.

Stefan, "What do you want?"

Klaus, "It is not about what I want, it is about what you want?"

Stefan, "What do you mean?"

Klaus, "You want your brother to live, then bring me Elena, else forget we ever had this conversation."

When Stefan returns home, he sees Elena lying next to Damon on his bed, she places a kiss on Damon's lips, even though it is a good bye kiss but still, it hurt him like a betrayal, in a second he throws Elena in Ric's apartment, Damon was so sick he couldn't even make out if this was real Elena or just some hallucination.

Elena looks at Klaus smirking at her and then at Stefan, "Stefan, why would you bring me here"

"I am sorry Elena, but this is what I have to do to save my family." He takes the vial of Klaus' blood and leaves.

Elena is terrified, she has no memories of her past life with Klaus, so all she sees here is a monster and the monster who cannot deny anything because she fears what he would do to her loved ones if she does. The feeling of doom again bubbles up to the surface, she has no idea what to do where to go.

Katherine starts, "Do you know the best part about this, your brother knew Klaus would take you, he knew everything."
